But now you'll comply that we have a bug here, which should be fixed. Easiest part would be increasing the overtime to 10 minutes at the Nords, what should be enough for nearly every class.
Could you not just do laps instead? If you do it's gives you 10 mins at Nords, 10 mins at Nords still wouldn't work if you did an Endurance multiclass timed race, some cars could be lapped twice and they still would get a DNF.

The only way it would work is if the counter didn't exist and the race finishes after the last person crossed the line, that is the only way you won't get DNF but on a long endurance race with wildy differing classes e.g Clios vs FA you could be waiting 30 mins!

OK, after three hours of testing we've found a workaround, which works for us. But only because we use the GP-Part of the Nürburgring Combined as a formation lap.

    1. Configure the DS with practice and qualifying within the rotation of "sms_rotate_config.json"
    2. Configure a second race within the rotation with a practice session and the race. And now the important part:
    3. During the practice noone is allowed to leave the pits!

If someone leaves the pits a time will start at the end of the race. If you configure the rotation without the second practice, a time will start at the end of the race. You have to do it exactly as decribed or a timer will start. We've tested this a couple of times, and if we did exactly as described not a single time the countdown started as soon as the leader crossed the finishing line. So we were able to reproduce this behavior, maybe helpful for the testers and devs.

    Edit: A working sms_rotate_config:
    Code:

    Nope.
The first race we had without an overtime kicking in, everyone was done as soon as he crossed the finishing line behind the winner. The DNF in this Results really DNF.

The problem exists on all platforms, I believe. Do your workaround do the trick on a PlayStation? And what if we need to use a Practice session for... practicing purposes? Now we apparently can't do that but need to stay away from the track? Or have I misunderstood you somehow?

You dont need to stay away, just do lapped races instead of timed races. To be honest, I'm tired of finding ways to work around this bug, so we simply switched to lapped races. Though I personally prefer timed races.

I think this happens in lapped races aswell. I was in a P2P multi-class Le Mans race with 6 laps IIRC, during qualifying we got like aprox. 5 minutes overtime. I was in GTE and there were some guys in LMPH. I was about 40 seconds into my last lap when the leader finished his race. I got 150 seconds to finish my lap, which is impossible to do.
I'd rather see 150 seconds overtime during qualifying and 120% during races, or atleast 120% for both sessions. Such a short amount of time to finish the last lap ruins the fun on track/car combinations that take longer than 150 seconds to finish the lap.

While we're at it, I'd like to see overtime being removed from qualifying sessions when everybody is in the pits. Kind of pointless to wait 2-3 minutes when nobody's on track. Maybe add some kind of 10-20 second countdown timer when everybody's returned to the pits so everyone know to finish up working on their setups and whatnot.

Hmm? Are you sure it was a lapped and not a timed race? I'm asking because we've switched to a lapped race last Friday at the Nords, and there was no overtime at all.

Flens07 was one of the participants, the time index in the following video shows him entering the Döttinger, the leader had already crossed the line.

    https://youtu.be/SoQhY3fSOQE?t=6242

We'll have a timed race this evening at Le Mans, I'll see the given overtime.

I'm pretty sure it was. It was not on a dedicated server tho, maybe that's the difference?

In most tracks the overtime is plenty to finish, seems to be Nords where it is a bigger problem (this is the only track i have got DNF on in MP races), maybe the devs need to code something into it just for this track - or a simple checkbox that allows overtime OR allows all racers to complete the lap they are on. (the thinking behind that is that if you are in a league anyone who cannot finish will retire to pit)

The problem you get then is the lead driver could be waiting, say up to 20 mins post finish for the final car to complete their lap. for someone like myself with limited play time i do not want to be sitting around for 20 mins not racing (sure in a league this is different as you dedicate the time to it)

IMHO this code already exists, because you have an overtime of ~120% in both practice and qualifying, but it looks like it was forgotten to add this to the race too.
