    Question 488GTE, Spa, Wet......I Despair!

    Hi all,
really, REALLY, enjoying PCars2 but I'm at a loss with this particular car/track/weather combo.

Been racing in championship mode and coming unstuck at Spa Endurance Race in the 488GTE.

The first half of the race is dry and I can keep ahead of the rest of the GTE field on around 45-50 difficulty, 45 aggression.
However, the second half is wet and it is just like driving on ice.

I've driven hundreds of laps in Private Testing, gradually adjusting settings, reading the forums, youtube vids, adjust some more etc etc etc but I cannot find any front end grip.
As soon as I even touch the throttle I get bucketloads of understeer

In the dry I'm running laps at around 2:34 but in the wet this slips to 2:44. It WAS 2:54 before I spent many hours tweaking.

I would REALLY appreciate some help with this.
I've been through various combinations of softening the suspension, rollbars, dampers, aero on max, tyre pressures everywhere between 15 and 25 psi etc. I've also downloaded ghost setups but these all seem to be for the dry.

...or is this car/track/weather combo just pants?

Are you using aides? Traction control(or having it set too high) is the main suspect for causing understeer under throttle. On the other hand losing 10s in the rain seems about right(or even small for an almost 3minute lap), so it could also be the AI that's too fast in that condition.

Hey, welcome home. You've downloaded setups from TT? The 488 GTE, since the new tires came with the 5.0 patch, is running 2:13.640 which would be dry. You need to make sure you don't have steering assist or braking assist enabled. You don't need full downforce. Here is an example of reasonable downforce and tire pressures.

18.85 is the lowest tire pressure possible with the 488 GTE.

Hey, I set up a Custom race at Spa. First time I ran the car, only one lap standing start(which isn't fun BTW). Set up a Custom race for yourself and I will try and help by duplicating your conditions. I made a lot of changes to my set up already. I tried to start a thread so people could share their Custom rain setups but no volunteers so you are on your own pretty much.

Or, it may just be pants as you say and all you can do is try and survive and get on to another race. So the race starts as dry and the only setup change you are allowed is wet tires?
Here is a dry run with the Wet setup, the only change is to Hard tires. So if you are only allowed a tire change when you pit it might be better to set up for wet then at least in the wet you can drive and just accept that in dry you won't be as fast as a true dry setup.

Here is the setup I used so we can both be on the same page. Also, your description of bucketloads of understeer may be because you are locking up the brakes on corner entry. The GTEs don't have ABS and even though they don't lock up as easy with the new patch they will still lock and you will lose the front end being unable to steer through the corners.. Ease off and try and minimize braking during turn in.

Thanks for taking the time to reply everybody.
    Checked: all assists are off.

Haven't had time to experiment or reply in detail due to work.
I'll get back to you with my current setup and some more detail etc as soon as I can.
