30-40% weaker performance as pcars1 on nvidia cards!

With same details we need more GPU Power, why is SMS not optimizing Pcars2?

I know there is more calculation in background, requires more CPU power but i dont see a reason why we have this really bad fps now in pcars2, related to the GPU.

For me, pcars2 is no fun to play in vr with this weak performance... Please developers put some time into optimising the game engine, you guys did such a great job with pcars1.

Its really sad that we got finally a game with good physics but with a big trade off

In PC2 you have now Livetrack, and more complex physics and it's more demanding from the CPU. Si it’s normal that you can’t get same FPS than in PC1 with the same computer and same graphics level. If we want more features it has a cost in hardware resources. For me the performace is quite good. Some people argue that there was a downgrade in graphics, and it's possible because the optimization to keep it runing in not high-end computers (or consoles). Dou you prefer a downgrade in graphics/physics to increase performance? I don't.

One thing it's optimizing (that I think that in PC the performance is decent), and other make miracles.

Like for like, it is more optimized.

There are more things happening under the hood in PC2 than there was in PC1 (also the AA methods are not comparable either). The optimizations that were done are what has allowed all the new tech under the hood to work as well as it does.

As many have said on these forums in the past, disable super-sampling (or at the very least lower it) and don't go bananas with your settings, VR is already demanding as it is and some fine tuning of your graphics settings will help you in the long run. I've to admit, it's far from perfect, but I'm not complaining and the only time I run into low fps issues, is during the dark, when you have +20 light sources, trying to light up your cockpit simultaneously...

I have exactly the same hardware that had when Pcars1 was out for the first time. In my experience, Pcars2 is much better optimized, because I can have the same FPS, with the same graphics fidelity I had in PCars2, but for me it feels much smoother in Pcars2 than in pcars1 ( I use SLI in both titles) no VR, and use 3 monitors.

I cap both titles at: 100HZ/60FPS, but pcars1 doesn´t feel so smooth.

    Hi !

    Look at my low system:
    i5-4460
    GTX960
    8 GB Ram

And i have 50FPS in Rain with a full field of AI's and about 130 FPS when i drive solo.

And PC2 runs better than PC1 for sure lol...

    I'm in a similar situation(i5 2400, 960, 16GB RAM)

PC1 & PC2 get about the same FPS in the same situations. It's just a matter of setting the gfx accordingly. From a visual pov, they look similar, but the driving is A1 now.

I have the exact(!) same hardware like you do and I very rarely go below 60 fps, only place I have noticed it is in the back straight of Oulton park, where there are a lot of trees. Of course I have toned down the gfx settings a lot, same as I had done in PCARS1, but the game still looks very nice to me.

Since this people here are happy with their performance and using flatscreen... the 40% less performance in comparison to pcars1 must related to VR only!

Or no one compared really their FPS from pcars1... but i did, and the performance is really a joke in pcars2. i had to reduce the resolution from 2.0 Pixel Density (5k) to 1.6 (3k) with the same details as in pcars1 and this reduced the sharpness in VR alot!

I have a feeling the most people just start their game and give a rip about performance today. Pcars1 is still the number 1 titel for VR games if i look at details/resolution and performance.

The gap is this strong, its really a big fps hit if you come from pcars1 and play pcars2 in VR!

Its all related to the CPU power... but the CPU is not the bottleneck, i have still reduce resolution in VR in Time Trial... and this is GPU related.

And im even upgraded my i5-6600k to i7-6700k and i gain almost zero fps increase.

For me the performance is far away from quite good (in VR), but its not bad either... just moderate.

For me the graphics are downgraded already, thats why i opend this treat... in hope the developers will optimise their game for VR on the same level as pcars1.

In California Highway, if i drive in pcars1 and pcars2 there are areas that looks exactly the same but the fps are day and night differend.
