Withe those specs I find it weird you have performance issues... I mean, look at my signature.
Then again I'm not famiar with P2P tracks. But I run (well, it has been quite a while since I use my rig) day and night and rain pretty much everywhere without issues.

I also have a vice but people talk so much about OC asw that your comments are a bit hard for me to understand.

Still hoping for Estoril one day

Your Upgrade was just a side grade. You should had upgraded to an 6 core instead of another 4 core cpu.

And if you are comparing PCars1 to Pcars2 you are wasting your time, or do you pretend to play with pcars1 ?!

Also: Your graphics card, not the best to play in VR.

Note: In my opinion is to soon hardware wise to play in VR, is not good enought. For me of course. Not even with an Titan Xp you can maintain good FPS with all the eyecandy.

It's pretty much maxed now with my rig ! Textures , MSAA , Reflections , Car , Track and Particles all on High and the rest on Medium with SS @ 1.3 and a very happy 90 fps in just about all conditions and times after last updates from everything (Intel , Microsoft , nVidia and SMS) !
I'm one happy VR pC2 player

In my experience before patch 1.4 and sharpening tools, all the "eyecandy" did not sweeten the experience as a whole and we had to compromise with things like choosing medium textures over the high, just because it looked better in VR. Still there are better ways to produce good visual effect with things like shadows when it comes to VR. Ever stopped near to a wall so you can actually visually analyse the casting shadow. It's a blurry mess full of noise. It looks good on a monitor but it's not a effective choice to produce crisp and clear visual effect when the display is 2cm in front of your eye, fullhd and looked at through a plastic lense.

Rendering engine problem, not solved without a new engine. I wanted to buy an Vr device, but since I tried Vive at a friend home, using Pcars2 to also, with a good setup, better than mine, because he had to 1080ti and a 8 core processor.

Well, i couldn´t drive more than 30 minutes and it was not an pleasent experience, i really wanted to like it, but the imersion factor is not there for me, to much visual anomalies to my eyes or brain, couldn´t let that pass. Well, but i´m a strange guy, I don´t like to live together with another person(women )So my girlfriend and I we live in separated houses, only together in the weekend´s and not all, because i need time to me . How could i play so many hours of Pcars2 if i lived with her? Even my son understands me

I'm not going to enter into a slanging match, but I'll say two things:

    1. I very much enjoy playing pCARS 2 in VR, and it compares excellently to the competition, in both visual quality and performance.

    2. Running 2x super sampling is basically pointless with today's headsets; you're just burning frames for no improvement in sharpness. 1.5 is a sensible maximum, and 1.3 a good compromise on many PCs (also, don't forget the use of post-processing sharpening).
Intel i7 7700K (OC@5Ghz), 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB, Acer X34 monitor (3440x1440 at 100hz), Oculus Rift, W10 Pro, DSL 70/20, XBox One Elite controller, Bodnar DD wheel and Heusinkveld pedals

Hi Andy, Project Cars 2 is great, but could you look at optimizing it for Windows Mixed Reality headsets? It is the one game that I keep having performance issues with, completely cpu bound. Not sure what's going on. It has improved a lot with time and drivers, but performance still leaves something to be desired. Is there any particular settings you recommend with a 2600x Ryzen Cpu?

I agree with the side grade comment but a 1080 should play vr fine and I can just about max everything out on my pc.

How can the "many PC's" use 1.5 SS ? Is that with running Low everything else ?

I never said that PCars2 Vr was bad, only that VR for me is not there yet, and when I say that, it is not only Pcars2 but all the games that I have tried. The FOV is to small it should be great that 180º to be like the real thing, and the resolution, thats my problem, you can almost see individual pixels, thats my experience with a Vivo headset, like wise, almost all software don´t work with two GPU´s, and for me that is an let down, because I have two GPU´s, bought in the time just because of VR, and all the talk about one GPU for each eye!
