Question PC2 crashes in VR after few Minutes

    Hello from Hannover,

PC2 ist running fine in normal Mode, but in VR it freezes my System after a few Minutes. Sometimes it is running above 40 FPS but after a few Rounds it gets down to below 20 FPS, sometimes it freezes my System within30 sec after Race-Start. (Power-Reset necessary)

No Anti-Virus is running, no Tools and no Geforce Experience ...

If i was able to stop the Game before it freezes the System, the only way to start PC2 with 40 FPS or more, is to Restart the System; but only until the next Freeze....

Tried all Graphics Options in Game Settings, Nvidia Settings, SteamVR and WMR VR Settings...... spend Hours in Testing!!!

I tried Nvidia Driver 397.64 and also older Versions.... I tried SteamVR Beta and nonBeta.... I used DDU in Safety Mode to make sure that all older Graphic-Drivers were deleted.....

I tried a new Win10 Install, new Install of Steam and SteamVR and new Install of PC2 .... Nothing Helped!

I tried also my older HMD, the Dell Visor: also Freezes.....

    My System and Hardware:

OS Win 10 64bit up to Date (June2018) (SteamVR Stable and Beta)

    MB Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming

    CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600x
    GPU GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Inno3D iChill X3 Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16
    RAM 16GB (2x 8192MB) G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16-18-18-38

    SSD Samsung 960 EVO MZ-V6E250BW
    HMD Samsung Odyssey
    Wheel Fanatec CSW v2.5

    Please any Suggestions ?

    Cheers, Al

Have you checked CPU and GPU temperatures? Any overclocks on either CPU or GPU?
    Have you tried without VR?

As i wrote, without VR : No Freezes.

No Overclocking, GPU an CPU are between 50 and 60 centigrad

CPU Usage is overall 40%, (one Core about 80%, others less..)

    GPU Usage is about 99%

You say you get 40-ish FPS, independent on the in-game graphics details settings? What resolution is the device, and what AA/supersampling settings do you use?

The Samsung Odyssey has 1.440 x 1.600 each eye.

I tried every in-game Setting (SS, AA, Resolution, Windowed-Mode, Shadows, Details and so on.... from low to middle to high to off..... No Improvement

Same with the Nvidia-Driver Settings, the SteamVR Settings and the Windows MR Settings (as i wrote in my first Post) ... No Improvement

I have no Problems with freezes in other Games or Applications.

Dirt Rally in VR is running with 90 FPS, RBR in VR is running about 200 FPS,

the only Game that Freezes my Computer is PC2 in VR

Okay, then it is something different. I was "hoping" for somebody else with the same issue, that would make finding the reason easier.

Canīt help much then, good luck to get that sorted.

"application pcars2avx.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware

    Hello from Hannover,

it seems that since the Windows 10 April Update (1803) PC2 in VR freezes the System with the Error "application pcars2avx.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"

I get this Message on two Machines with different Hardware, I am sure this is a Software Problem.
Tried many different Things (older and newer Nvidia Drivers, Steam VR (normal and Beta) fresh Install of Win10 and everything installed again, NOTHING helped.

in VR PC2 stutters or freezes after a few Minutes !!! Please, I need a Workaround or a Patch for this Issue

What you forget to say, the antivirus you are using. Get ride of it, and use only the windows 10 Defender. The problem is in your side, otherwise everyone had the same problem.
