I don't think there is a way to get the mouse working with that setting.

Can we please stay to the topic of my original post and developments, no offence Gix916, but it is frustrating being told I have an update on my post only to find it's a reply to a totally different issue/problem you are having. Thank you.

In all fairness , turning off the mirror may save some performance !

A Guy ,Ramjet in this thread http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sho...d-General-tips (that you have seen already) has a 1080 but with a 6700k and seems to have settings that work for him, maybe PM him and ask what he is doing and how pC2 runs for him !

I was previously running pC2 with my 1080Ti but a 6600k and upgraded to a 7700k . I did notice a fair improvement in stability, but it wasn't that i couldn't get 90 fps, it would just fluctuate more than now with the 7700k . I'm not sure your 4690k is much lesser a CPU than my 6600k but see what Ramjet's (He's an Aussie , He's cool) settings are and go from there .

Maybe it's not ASW but it fixes those issues. Likewise I am on the 1070 so depending it's not always a constant 90. Also I still run the inactivated windows.
That sounds like vsync is on. Make sure it didn't get turned back on some how.

It does but then you have to use gaze control and its horrible to use. I tried it the other day so unless there is some way to get the mouse working or gaze control to be easier to use that's a no go.

Vsync is always off, besides I don't think vsync has any effect with the HMD. I'm just saying CTRL + 1 still works on some systems. My rig does things out of the blue sometimes and so does PC2. I could think that playing online in a full room with unplayable stutter is a cause of lag, and I would just keep playing until I say "let me just press CTRL+1" and viola, it works. Vsync on or off doesn't do anything as far as I've tested. The oculus debug tool does not work either on my end, disabling or auto. The game would just lock it to 45 with whatever I choose. CTRL+1 OTOH, uncaps the frames. This is with both the RX480 and GTX 1070. It has to be something in my system that keeps it like that. This is with Crew Chief, discord, and Crome all running.

Just an update, I had enough of trying to get a smooth FPS now, and the GPU not being worked enough, so decided to upgrade my i5 4690k. I only went out and bought a Ryzen 7 2700x, slight upgrade lol, hopefully 8 cores/16 threads should now be enough for this game.
