Formula Rookie - Tuning a few more seconds out

    All,
I'm embarking on the career route as a way of learning the ropes.
I'm having a bit of trouble squeezing a few more seconds out of the Formula Rookie.
You can see from my setup below which is getting me a max speed of 112mph, and reasonable steadyness around the corners.
I'm averaging 2.08s per lap on the Autodrome Internacional Algarve, which just isn't quick enough!
I'd be really grateful for any advice.
    Thanks.

Hi filthymanc.......cant see ya pics so this might help

Have u tried running on wet tires in Algarve im getting 2.04's lap times i still reckon wets feel the best on the rookie

    wet's
Cold start pressure Front 14 Psi /0.96 bar.... Rear 15 Psi /1.03 bar
low pressures work on the other tires as well

only other tweaks i do with the rookie is lower ride height 75/front and 85/rear also play around with Steering ratio in tune menu
Slower smoother steering== increase the ratio

Hey it must be noted that those tunes in the career thread are set for maximum stability FIRST and raw speed/fast laps second. So anyone using them and driving consistently who wants more speed can definitely raise the tire temps as per track temperature as they are very low for max grip reasons. Somewhere hot like Algarve +5 F/R would be a good start, somewhere cold even as much as +8/10 FR is recommended. Warmed up at race temps around 24 front 21 rear is pretty well optimum.

That's awesome Tez! Precisely what I hoped was for the guide to make twitchy cars more accessible leading to better tunes down the road from others. Don't forget to post your best tunes especially if you get lap records in TT, a controller specific tune is always helpful to people!
