[RESOLVED] Thrustmaster T500RS (Separate Pedals) - Brake spiking problem

So, I am driving along and if the revs drop a bit to say 4000 rpm the car won't get going again. If I pump the accelerator, then the Power/Torque comes back and the cars resumes accelerating.

Sometimes it feels like the brakes are on and the car stalls repeatedly.

Swith ON telemetry and the problem then becomes visible. You can also see the problem using Thrustmaster Test SW.

    Solution:

I isolated the problem as being the Brake Pedal Potentiometer.

The problem was that sometimes the brake would stick fully on and at other times, simply spike and keep spiking. The problem can be seen in the Thrustmaster Test SW when the pedals are tested.

I used compressed air to clean out the pot. However, there are products on the market such as DeoxIT D5 that will clean and lubricate the pot.

If you are interested in purchasing a replacement pot, it is a 25K Ohm, Logarithmic, 16mm, D shank type. They are very difficult to find except from Thrustmaster atm. I am trying to get my local electronics store to order some in and will post the details when if/when they are in stock (don't hold your breadth).

Hope this info helps. Let me know if anyone needs further information about how to troubleshoot and fix this issue.

Switch to telemetry HUD to check your throttle and brake input.
Sounds like either a faulty potentiometer on your pedals OR you activated the braking assist in the game options.

Braking Assistance is set to No.

I changed the HUD to Telemetry.

Also, the problem happens sometimes when I crash.

Ok, seems to be fixed now. The brake was sticking fully on. It's ok now.
