I have an xbx and upgraded my tv in march after breaking my 40 inch 1080p whilst playing pcars2. My unreinforced rig table wobbled at Bannochbrae and fell on to wheel and ting! Bust.

I now have a 58 inch 4k hdr panasomic and I am very pleased with the improvement. I can now sit 30 inch from the screen with a fov of 80 can really feel the increase in immersion. I think it is well worth upgrading to 4k big hdr.
Cockpit view. 28 inch distance to 58 inch 4k HDR TV. Proper fov, 65. World movement 50, all other camera movement, 0. G920, shifter, Raw, 100, 40-60, 15-35, 0. Assists, all off. Currently play 90-120/100 AI. 10-20 lap quick races, some tt. Decent hifi, big speakers. Home made rig.
You Tube Channel, recording my attempts to beat the AI at 120/100.

If you decide to buy a new TV right now, absolutely make sure it has HDR on it. It rocks!

But with TVs there is never a good time to buy one, it’s always best to wait for new tech or price drops.

How close are you planning on sitting from the screen? At a distance you won't see the pixel difference 4K vs 1080 on console. If you're nose up on the screen or have other 4K uses for it then yes, go 4K.
Also before you decide on the TV get real close to it and see if the pixel density bothers you. Some big TVs aren't great for it.

P S. For the guy's complaining about the graphics on PS4, I also have a PC and have recently tried rFACTOR 2 and Automobilista, and physics aside, Graphically speaking Project Cars 2 blows them outa the water.
If your PC can run pC2 or rF2 at 4k i'd say save your money on the 4k TV and get a Rift ! plain and simple ! I have a 4k TV and rarely use it because i have a Rift , although games like Wolfenstein II or Battlefield 1 do look pretty awesome in 4k ultra

Tomb Raider is on the horizon as well. Will look awesome on a 4k. To bad I don’t have one.I just bought my tv a tad before the 4k/hdr became mainstream.

Agree after playing in 4k its impossible for Me to go back to 1080p.

I had a Samsung 48in curved and upgraded to a Samsung QLED 55in Curved and while the 4k picture Quality is basicly the same the HDR really Makes the Blacks much deeper that makes the Colors Pop sooo Much more and look more true to Life.... Any 1 on the Fence 4k HDR is the way to Go!

I like Curved Screen better than flat because for Me it gives a Much Better FOV... Curved screens give more pucture area but take up less space... Ex My TV space if the screen were flat i could only fit a 48in but because its curved the 55in takes up exactly the same space... also the Curve draws your eyes to the center of the screen.... Curved cost a few pennys more but the deeper immersion the curve creates for Me its worth it.
