99% of what I do revolves around Custom Race. I very rarely go into TT and that is generally just to test drive something to see if I like it and can handle it. I test drive a lot of road cars there without having to race them. That's why I had to open the radiator back up because I was getting a warning from the race director that my engine was overheating. I'll try to go back into it and change the engine braking to see if that can at least keep it pointed in the right direction. I changed the tire pressures to what THR had but I'm almost sure mine are different. I only use real world settings for ABS & TC, etc. If the car doesn't have it in real life, I don't use it.

With my mostly stock setup running at 2:08 or so, I was just looking to try and maybe get that a little more real world like down in the 2:05 neighborhood or so.
These are the TT conditions where these setups worked. From 3/01/17. If you have a different date the conditions can make these setups worthless, due to track conditions.

    Bikes wrecked-77 Suzuki RM125, 78 Honda Elsinore 250, 81 Honda CB900F, 2000 Kawsaki ZX12R(2), 2001 Honda F4I, 2005 Yamaha R1. A bike hasn't been made I couldn't wreck, spectacularly, but I'm retired now.

Hi! Welcome home! Also you might want to post in the General Forum as well here. http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sho...oduce-Yourself!

Are you on PC? That is a Default choice so if you are on console you need to change it.

    Hi Blink,
I was wondering if you’d messed around with the group 5 cars very much. I’ve been sampling the different car options but I seem to be equally worthless with all of them. Do you have a favorite and how do approach tuning them?

Hi, I don't mess with them much. I like the BMW turbo and the Zakspeed Capri best. Plus one of the best Group 5 drivers, bytecruncher26 has many setups for these 2 cars. On Ps4 david has used many of bytecruncher's setups and seems to like them enough. I don't care for the Porsches or Nissan IMSA because of the way the bodies bounce around, look odd to me.

Overall the BMW and Capri are just faster and look better as well.

At Monza and Le Mans the Moby Dick Porsches are going to dominate because of the top speed.

With the Capri and BMW you have the old school turbo lag that can catch you out if unprepared. Some people prefer short shifting these cars to avoid the jerk between shifts under power. I haven't run them much so I have only 2 3rd place TT times. 1 each. Capri has a solid axle so camber adjustment is low(+-0.5), BMW is adjustable.

Flat out in qualifying both the BMW and Capri will be quick. But if you are going to race the BMW might offer more adjustability to your style/ability. I would need to check out the AI performance because the AI cars don't necessarily perform the way a human driven car would. Any track you are interested in?

    IMSA, Garbage Scow, Limited Edition.

At Hockenheim GP, AI 80/65 with the Porsche 935/78-81 in Default Loose except Soft tires. The lap times of the AI vary quite a bit.

At the same settings the Capri isn't as good. The AI are slower but so am I. Lot of work to get on the pace of the Porsche.

BMW. It's easier to drive than the Capri, AI are much quicker as well.

Porsche 935/80. This car was fun to drive. I had fought my way to 1st at the 2nd to last corner on 2nd lap but Race Control made me slow, didn't approve of my overtake.

So, the bottom line for me is I would pick the 935/80 for Career. This isn't what I expected based on TT. I really don't care if the car looks odd to me in replay if it's a blast to drive. The AI of the 935/80 fight hard. The Moby Dick is ok but I think with practice and some tuning the 935/80 would be best. You would have to get in the 1:41s to keep up with the AI of the Moby Dicks though. If you can't get there then the Moby Dicks would be the choice.

Ok, too much tire wear for Softs.

Ok, it's definitely more squirrely on Hards. About 7 tenths slower than Softs, need to change setup. For some reason the AI were slower as well.

This is the way most of the races might end up. A few Moby Dicks up front and the 935/80 3rd. Additional Moby Dicks will push the 935/80 further down the order.

By the time I am clear of the other 14 cars the 2 MDs are on their way to turn 7 while I am exiting Parabolika(5) .

I was going to run the career season ( short) just to get through it. These beasts are really tough to handle. I’ve found myself short shifting as you described but still lagging behind the field by a good 4 seconds or so ( BMW). I don’t know if I should even attempt this group as it’s certainly not much fun. Thanks so much for the feedback. I hope your doing well. I’ll be in touch soon to get your input on lmp3 and formula A.
    Take care bud!

Yes, it looks as if unless you choose the MDs and are capable of alien lap times(the 1st lap the MDs are 6 seconds ahead of the 3rd place car and I can't get through to 3rd until Paribolika so now I am eight secs back meaning I would need to run 1:38s to close the gap)the Career would be unwinnable. At least on the AI settings of 80/65. The MDs need to be slowed to the 1:45s at this track otherwise you won't have a chance starting from the back. I have seen as many as 3 MDs starting at the front. Maybe this is just a Career experience lesson, you can't win them all. It could be a different experience at other tracks. These Group 5s were/are a real baptism by fire.

Hey, here is the most recent run, it's the only one of the top 3 with Damper changes. The top 2 runs were mostly Default Loose. Soft tires may work at RA. Power Ramp is locked!
