Thinking of looking at the new AMD Ryzen R5 2600X CPUs; I'm normally intel all the way but I have heard good things?

Anyone here tried them for VR?

DaWorstPlayer is running a ryzen in his signature and sounds like he's happy with it.

I'm a part of league that runs every Wednesday nights and we have a bunch of guys that have different system configs. Some people started the season with i5-2500ks and those folks were constantly getting stutters even when playing on triple monitors. Folks who have i5 4xxx series CPUs seem to fine on monitors but have occassional stuttering in VR. The people with i5-2500ks upgraded to Ryzen5s and are super happy. People with Ryzen 5 2600x and higher CPUs love the way PCars2 runs on their system. Some folks even have the Ryzen5 2600x paired with a GTX 1080Ti in VR and no system hickups.

Correct. I was running an i5-6500k with a GTX1070 before that and ran into the same issue. The 4 cores got maxed out when running PCars 2 and VR. It ran great for monitors with no stutters. It seems the game uses 4 threads and VR adds enough overhead that you need another core to execute the additional workload.

BTW do you drive an SSC in Auto-x? I think you're on the FT86-club forum and I might have met you at Nats in Lincoln.

I do, I am, and I was at Lincoln. I don't remember putting a face to your screen name? I remember cars much better than names. Lol.

That was me. My brother was the codriver in 72. I'm guessing we met on the test-n-tune?

Yea I believe so. Yes the plan is to stick with SSC until it gets obsolete. Cya at Nats this year unless you come to Spring Nats. We can talk Project Cars 2 then.
