PS4 upgrade to PC + VR question

    Hi all.
My first post here so here we go.
I'm currently playing the game on a PS4 (non pro) with a 1080p tv. I'm quite happy with the graphics as they are on the PS4 so I'm wondering what sort of graphics card will give me the same results re graphics quality on the PS4 with a pc and rift. Would I really need a 1080ti to match the PS4 ? I appreciate it's not just the GPU but I am planning a 2700x build with 16gb of B- die ram. I'm new to pc's but have been doing a fair bit of research over the last couple of months.
PS, It will be an AMD pc.
Many thanks in advance and looking forward to you're comments.
    Cheers.

    If we are talking Oculus:

The wild card is ASW and if it will bother you or not. (If your equipment can't hold 90fps, then it switches to 45fps and makes educated guesses every other frame to produce 90fps)

ASW works great for me, so my 1070 runs the game at mid to high settings and looks pretty good.

However, if I want to run a true 90fps (where the card actually renders 90fps) then my 1070 has to run almost minimum graphics settings and it's less pretty.

A 1080ti can probably run a legit 90fps with the same settings my 1070 needs ASW to run.

you could also go with a 1600x and invest that money in the better GPU.
    Instead of a 1080ti i would go with a 2080.

    Short answer, yes!

If the PS4 generates graphics remotely similar to the PC on monitors, VR is going to be a step down in terms of visual quality. You're going to need a videocard with a GTX1080Ti or RTX2080 and above to get some of the visual eye candy back. Despite that the experience with VR is still better.

Get the best GPU you can afford, this game will bring even the RTX2080 to its knees.

    Hi guys.
Appreciate the replies and thanks. 1080ti or 2080 it is then.

take the newer one. Currently thy are on a similar level in price and performance, but in the future developers maybe will pull out more from the 20xx. Maybe with some tricks that are not possible on last gen.

I would go for the vive pro. It has eye tracking and only needs to render high res in the region you’re looking at. Will make the need for recourses a lot less.

Vive pro with eyetracking comes in sommer or maybe later. And eye tracking and that special rendering must be supported by the game i think. So currently not a useful option

Yeah I guess this will not be supported by the current games. Perhaps they will release an update but I presume they won’t.
