Ok, I had read some reviews on the potentiometers(brake in particular) used in the T3PA Pro and there were concerns about the quality early on. The Logitech ones needed cleaning or they would stick, again mostly the brake.
    Bikes wrecked-77 Suzuki RM125, 78 Honda Elsinore 250, 81 Honda CB900F, 2000 Kawsaki ZX12R(2), 2001 Honda F4I, 2005 Yamaha R1. A bike hasn't been made I couldn't wreck, spectacularly, but I'm retired now.

Hi blinkngone, it's been a while but finally got some time off this long Easter weekend to do some laps!
So instead of the M3 GT4 I drove the Mustang RTR around the RBR and to be honest I'm still struggling and best time of 1min41.6 so far.
Tuned the diff and front & rear ARB to counter the under & over-steer I am getting in the sweeping highspeed corners.

One thing I cannot get my head around is when I accelerate while riding the red & white sausage kerbs my car sometimes slide while the AI can just ride on it like it's on rails.

And, I finally took the plunge and ordered a 10kg loadcell mod for my T3PA pro from SRS. Am skeptical about the 20kg version as I read some reviews saying its way too hard to achieve full braking.

Hi warhammer, happy to see you back! As for the curbing problems there is a huge contentious thread in General. The A.I. don't have the same tire model or physics as you so sometimes they can do things you can't. Well I am looking at TT and not much going on, most of the guys at the top of the board are really good drivers so not much change from Default Loose. Here is cpcdem's LSD to get you started though.

Hey, I was running a best of 1:40s with the BMW a while back. I never ran the Mustang, I could do 1:39s with the Cayman. I am not sure about the Mustang, it runs the combo Geared/Clutch LSD and I basically quite running this over a year ago.
Here is bytecruncher26's setup. He is using the Clutch LSD only.

Hey, I just ran a slightly modified bytecruncher setup. It was only my 2nd lap and no tire adjustment. It should be a lot easier than the BMW considering how many laps I did in that garbage scow to get in the 1:40s.

Changes. Toe because my arms and legs don't work. Less rear ARB because I tend to oversteer on exit(leg is a just a stick, foot doesn't modulate throttle well). Increased power ramp see previous. Loosened Preload too.

Ok, ran a quick race of 3 laps, no tire pressure adjustments. The guy in 1st jumped to a big lead because no one challenged him and the AI gave me a difficult time. Anyway I think you are almost good to go. I just used AI 85/75. Oops, used same car.

You know if you look back at what lap times I was running in races with the BMW I am almost there with bytecruncher's setup using the Mustang. I think it handles the curbs better than the BMW. The same caution applies at turn 6, you need to be close to the curbing on entry. The Mustang is more stable through here to turn 8 and you can recover unlike the BMW.

OK, this is the best practice lap I have so far. I adjusted the tire pressures, the first lap they are only in the 23s so you need to be careful. After 3 laps they were ok but the fronts started to go above target.
    3rd lap was quickest.

I made another run, I can repeat. One thing I've noticed is I seem to be quicker in a race than running by myself.

Just a touch quicker with Soft tires, wear didn't seem excessively bad.

Ok, I ran a 3 lap race with Softs, not good, I gave up 1.3 seconds on the 3rd lap. So, although I put in a pretty good 2nd lap I lost most of my lead so in additional laps I would be losing. Another thing, I had AI at 85/70. When I changed to 85/75, I was in trouble. Hard tires are a must. If you need to run AI at 85/75 we need to work more on the setup.

Back on Hard tires. Less give up but not quite as quick. Also, I found I had to run AI at least 70 on aggression. If I ran lower the top 2 cars were able to break away and by the end of lap 2 build up over a 1 second lead. At 70 the AI would challenge each other enough to allow me to minimize the gap. The skill at 80 or 85 didn't seem to have as much effect as aggression setting.

Ok, I think this is my best effort with Hard tires. AI was 80/70, this time my best lap was the 3rd lap.

Just as a sanity check I ran the Cayman again. The Cayman is just easier for me to drive. The Mustang is one of my worst cars so I am surprised I was close with the Mustang.

Ok tweaked the Cayman. Even though I messed up a couple of times I still completed 3 laps almost 2 seconds quicker than my best Mustang run. It's just overall faster.

Ok, ran 6+ laps, I think you can do it but it's going to be tight all the way. Don't forget to put gas in like I did. Ran out of gas lap 7, turn 3. Tire pressures were ok, I couldn't adjust them without overshooting. The brakes seem to be marginal(especially compared to the 919 I drove earlier). I was ok everywhere but turn 4 for some reason. Turn 1 and 3 you can pound the AI at 80/70 but turn 4 I didn't figure out. Some times I got a warning about the need to short shift, don't know what that's about since I am stuck using Automatic everything. The AI would pretty much maintain a 0.4 second gap, if I slowed he slowed if I went faster he went faster so it's all going to come down to lap 9 or 10 when he will probably find some way to go a second quicker and you will have to hold your lines well.

More weirdness for me. I did fairly well as far as my fast lap goes but then my 3rd lap it jus quit accelerating as though I had damaged the engine.

hi blinkngone, well I had time last night to do some 10 lap stints with the mustang RTR on RBR and best I could muster is a 1.42.6.... so I basically am the slowest on the track by around 2 sec. mind you I was using some random setup and i haven 't got time to try your suggested setups yet. However i find that the LSD diff had a big impact on car handling, first 3 corners i am comfortable but then i am losing alot.of time in those sweeping corners and the last 2 right handers.

BTW, i bought the load cell mod from SRS UK and will try it out tomorrow. I doubt it will have a significant effect on my laps though

Hi warhammer, yeah the LSD has a big impact on how well you can ride the curbs. I found the curbs at RBR with the Mustang some of the better ones so it's just a matter of getting your setups to your liking. I know cpcdem has a lot of laps at RBR and he definitely prefers the curb behavior there to COTA.

Yeah I can make 1:40s and so can the AI at 85/75 so you need to find some time.

Hopefully your new load cell will give you better feel for lock ups.
