WinZip vs. 7-Zip what is the most useful tool to use on Windows? (Experience)

Base on my personal experienced I use 7-zip on windows 10 and I have absolutely no problems to report thus far... I used to use WinRAR but I too got annoyed with it always asking me to buy it. I find 7-zip to be just as good and its free...

Well, both WinRAR and WinZip will nag you to buy them because they aren't free products, unlike 7-zip. WinRAR, for example, has a strict 30-day evaluation period during which you can decide if you want to buy it or not and although it will continue to work perfectly well after that period, you are in breach of the license if you do continue to use it. I have registered both WinRAR and WinZip in the past but I stopped using WinZip in the early 00's after XP released (I started to find the interface frustrating as they built more and more onto it to try and separate themselves from Windows built-in .zip handling - which is basic at best, but functional in most instances). There's absolutely nothing wrong with using 7-Zip, it does what it needs to do perfectly well .

Same. Been using it since about '01-'02 with no issues. In fact, it's usually the first thing I download whenever I get a new computer.

    WinRAR? eww...

I just took out the DeLorean and got myself a copy of ARJ.

There should be plenty of tools around nowadays. A quick search let me to a more fancy tool called Hamster Zip Archiver. Maybe I'll have a look tomorrow and see what it feels like using it. It should be free!
