I upgraded an old rig with an FX 43xx to an 8350 (for a friend) and it plays Project Cars on an Oculus fine.

Your specs look fine and your CPU is should be ok for VR. It's technically a 4 core with SIMD. My recommendation for VR in PCars2 is a CPU capable of executing at least 5 threads or more. My experience with Oculus and Vive Pro has been, the Oculus isn't as resource intensive as the Vive Pro and more hassle free. It definitely sounds like a software/driver/setting issue.

I would try blowing away your PCars2 folder in your "My Documents" folder and letting the game rebuild it. If you were using a Vive before perhaps there is something not correctly configured/corrupted in the VR settings file.
    What line?
PC: Ryzen7 3700x, RTX 2080 Ti, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD HD, Oculus Rift, Vive Pro and HP Reverb
Wheel/Pedal: Fanatec Clubsport wheel, pedal, shifter and handbrake

Thing is I've never had a problem with this setup before and I don't have any problems with any other sims. AC Competizione should require a lot more than this does and it's fine in VR.

Well, ACC does not have LiveTrack, does not have a very sophisticated (and hard on the CPU) tire model and many other things that PCARS2 does. Not bashing ACC at all, I think it is very good, but it does not have the features that need as much CPU power as PCARS2 does.

People will say the same thing about PCars2 in comparison to AC/ACC. And i'm not experiencing any caps on my resources.

I've just noticed poor tracking quality and errors on my Rift. I've tried switching the hubs the sensors are on and tried even removing one to only use one sensor and still the same problem. Now it just says my headset is getting poor tracking quality

Just checked the website for my USB 3 expansion card and it says it's not suitable for kinekt or oculus but that doesn't matter because I don't have anything connected to it at the moment. I guess I'm just done with PCars....

They will say what? This was not an opinion of mine, does anybody claim that ACC has a LiveTrack equivalent? Or that the tire model is not more sophisticated in PCARS2? That does not necessarily mean it is more correct, but it does put a lot more stress to the CPU. Possibly the simpler model in ACC is more correct at the end, but in any case it definitely requires less from the CPU. And this is the reason why in PCARS2 the AI uses a different tire model, while in AC/ACC all cars use the same model, because the CPU can handle this.

Unfortunately I do not have experience with VR to give you any actual help on this, I hope it is just a simple thing that you need to change to get it fixed and it is not CPU related.

I'd suggest you check CPU utilisation and display the logical processors, rather than the overall to see if you have a single core that is hitting 100% usage

if you aren't already doing it, add -pthreads 4 to the steam launch options for the game and make sure you have absolutely nothing else using your CPU whilst playing

and if the Rift comes up and says poor tracking quality, try restarting Oculus (under Setting -> Beta) that usually clears it (and make sure you use Microsoft supplied drivers for any add in USB card, for some reason they use those as their default, rather than the manufacturers drivers, so it whines about not having the latest drivers if you use the newest manufacturer supplied ones!)

and lastly, whatever your PC does in any other game is irrelevant.. they all have different requirements of CPU vs GPU vs Memory and the one certainty is that PC2 is very good at finding weaknesses in PC configs

Im confused. You are saying you never had problems before. But your original post states you are having the same problems as the old PC?

Why not just buy a new card for $30? Its well known that the tracking sensors when plugged into the MOBO with other USB connections can cause issues, because the MOBO cannot supply enough power. I mentioned this in your other thread. Its not a Pcars problem that you have tracking issues. Its a simple fix
