Congrats, you'll appreciate the new level of clarity. Quick update on mine after using it for a few weeks.

    The Good:

    1. The clarity is still amazing and will make your jaw drop. It was like the 1st time I put on a VR headset.

    2. The sound is actually much better than I originally anticipated. If you position the speakers in the proper position on your ear the sound is comparable to the Rift CV1 (that's saying a lot).

    3. The headset fits better now after it's been broken in. It felt a little stiff at first but now the fitment is great (including the headphones) as the parts got moved and face cushion got worn in.

    The bad:

    1. I did get the dreaded flickering screen on the right display that many people have been complaining about (and returned their headsets) but easily found out what caused it. It was the cable, replugged into the PC and it went away. Be careful with the cable, it's this headset's achilles heel. Once I fixed it no more issues with the display. I heard rumors the next batch of headsets will do away with the stupid connector until then use the cable clip. I still have to get the printed clip from my friend.

    2. The FOV in my opinion is more like 105 to 100 deg. It's definitely smaller than the other headsets and noticable.

    3. This headset is not for people that like to look around in VR, the edges are blurry and if you like to look around with your eyes it will not work for you. Its not a big deal for me as I just naturally turn my head to look at things but it may bother some people.

If you don't mind a few of the caveats, it's an awesome headset.

Agreed, I got mine on day one and I've been very happy with it. It's fantastic for seated sims, flying and driving.

Yes, DWP's mini review above is very accurate I'd say.

I also have the Reverb. It's fantastic! Upgraded from CV1.

Thanks for this detailed review. The lenses are my major worries at the moment. I owned the Odyssey+ for a while and that was my major point of criticism. Will see whether I can try one before buying.

I'm really enjoying my Index and Pcars2, but, i'm still getting bugged out by the shadows, mainly from overhaning trees onto the track. They just seem to be rendered differently and look kinda weird. It's like they make me feel a little boss-eyed. Anyone else getting this and do you have any solutions for making them nicer? I'm almost thinking of turning them off.. thanks.

Yes I'd like to know too. Was at Imola and the shadows of the trees on the track surface looked a little jagged.

Have you guys seen this video? It compares all the visual graphic settings side by side.
    Really useful.
