    AI thoughts

I was just wondering if anybody is having a hard time with the AI. I set the AI settings to 50/50 to start with and I could not match them for seed turned them down to 35/35 , using the E190 in career , on long beach, I set the car up in a private test , and was constantly running 1.32.s /1.31s . started career qualifying and the car seemed to change drastically , I could only run 1.35s/1.34s at the best, the AI were 2/3 seconds faster , started 10th , it took me 8 laps of the 15 , to get to 3rd, but just could not catch them.lol

Hey, you just need to practice and get better. The TT WR for the 190E at Long Beach Street Circuit is 1:23.832. If you are running 1:32s or 1:34/35 the AI are going to out pace you. At AI of 100/85 the AI are going to be capable of 1:23s, this is why you have had to lower AI settings to your pace. It's normal for grip levels to change Practice to Qualifying to Race.
Here is a TT setup for you to look at to see if the changes might help you.

Make sure you have braking assist off, you can use Steering assist if you wish. Stability Control is best at Authentic.

Ok, I took the TT setup, made the usual changes. Fuel to 10 laps, brake ducts to 75% front 65% rear, radiator to 45%. I also changed the tire pressures to 21.61 front and 20.45 rear, still need a little adjusting. Anyway I ran 3 laps and his setup should help you based upon the times you stated you were able to run. 3 laps , I am sure you can do better than me. I would caution against lowering the AI too much, too low and they will not pass or fight each other for position meaning you will be faced with a long line of single file cars difficult to get around.

Using your lower AI settings I passed 16 cars by the end of lap 1. Just be patient and practice and then you can increase the AI.

Finished in front after 3 laps, you can see the pressures are a tad high though.

    Bikes wrecked-77 Suzuki RM125, 78 Honda Elsinore 250, 81 Honda CB900F, 2000 Kawsaki ZX12R(2), 2001 Honda F4I, 2005 Yamaha R1. A bike hasn't been made I couldn't wreck, spectacularly, but I'm retired now.

Ok, sorry I don't know much about controllers. I think you might need to change the steering ratio. On GT3s some controller users change the TC and ABS values but the 190E doesn't have these so you could be ok. In the past wheel users have used controller setups on PC with a few changes. Oops, sorry, it does have ABS. He increased it to 94.
Here is SirBangalot's controller steering ratio. Also his LSD in case you have oversteer issues.

Once you get your wheel set up there are some setups available in this thread. http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sho...=1#post1538531

Yeah, that's probably the main reason. In my opinion AI are usually not that hard to beat. I now mostly race online for variety, but here are two AI races I did, one at 110% difficulty, another one at 100%, I probably did default setups or maybe minimally changed for Barcelona, and I won both (Laguna Seca starting from last position). And I am by no means a fast racers, as evidenced by poor performance in online races.

On the other hand, actual strength of AI seems to depend on the track and car at the same nominal level, as shown by me easily winning Laguna Seca at 110% starting last and struggling a bit to win Barcelona at 100% despite starting from P1. But 50 or 35% should not be that hard.

Hey, if you wouldn't mind please run the 190E at Long Beach with your AI settings.

Great idea, I will. Maybe it will turn out that AI differs between cars and tracks more than I think and they will beat me at 50%... It will take a while because I am going to be too busy to race for a week or so and also I don't know the track (nor the car) that well, so I'd need to practice a bit. But I'll do it for sure and report back here.

Do you think that for a valid comparison it will make sense to do it as a quick race set up separately from the career? I did only a bit of career, the dropped because racing live people is more fun. I don't know if the game makes the AI drive different in career vs single races

Yeah I use Custom Race to get an idea when people have issues with Career but sometimes it is impossible to duplicate the Career race conditions particularly in rain settings. I was hoping that his Long Beach race was just different grip levels because of the Date and time the race was scheduled so maybe it would be ok to compare a Custom race to his Career race.
