    270 degree screen setup...

    Hi all,

I have just finished building my new rig and setup, including a DIY 270 degree curved screen with triple projectors.

I have most of my other sims set up for use but pcars 2 seems to be giving me some issues!

I have tried to use the triple screen setup tool but the left and right fov or scale seem to be wrong and also out of alignment. (they appear to sit higher than the center screen although they are all the same physical height) if I dont check the triple screen option and run as 1 large res they layout is fine but the scale of the car is off...

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Gary

Hey I know pcars 2 supports different size side monitors as lots of people use their main monitor for the center and 2 smaller ones for peripheral vision. My point here is are your sure the side projectors are set in the config to be the same size as the center as if they were it that would produce what you are seeing?
Sorry if I'm being dumb haven't got the game installed at the moment to try out myself with triple.

    Hi,

Yes the projectors are set up with a warping software so the each fill the screens perfectly (making them the Same size) also using nvidia spanning so making one large 5760x1080 so no different to running 3 of the same 1080p monitors sat next to each other,

    Thanks for the reply

Ive thought about doing this with my 2 Barco Reality 909 CRTs, given they have the ability to align geometry from any reasonable angle and at any aspect ratio it should be quite doable. Not sure how it would go with 2 display devices instead of 3.

Ive not set up digital projectors on curved screens before, all the blends and stacks ive done have been on flat screens, but this certainly doesnt look to be a setup issue given that it works correctly on Assetto Corsa.

I wonder if Project Cars 2 is ignoring your blend manipulation software?

To me it seems the scale of the side "monitors" are larger than your center screen, almost like it is try to render more viewable area than the center screen. Also the angle between your side screen and center screen is too shallow (meaning you try increasing the angle in the game). 2 things I would try based on what I see from your images.

Set your side screens to smaller size monitors (trying to zoom the image on the sides to match your center screen).
Increase the angle on your side "monitors, almost like your monitors are at a sharper angle, closer to you on the sides.

    Hope that helps, good luck.

This was what I was thinking as well, I'll have to have a look and see.

Thanks for the idea I will make some changes and see if it makes any differents to the image size on the outer screens.
