    Maybe try decreasing preload slightly.

By a lot. Down to ~20nm. That's where I've recently been running GT cars with good improvement in driveability. Also slightly better lap times and front tyre wear

*Increase* preload. Decreasing it will make it more agile but also even more difficult to handle and that was the OP's issue.

    Decrease preload for less understeer.

Do you not find with it that low the rear gets sketchy ?

In GT cars it doesn't seem to for me, but on LMP cars yes.
Also the rear stability will be affected by suspension and aero tune, and how tight your diff power and coast ramps are. I'm usually at ~45-60 power and coast with 4-6 clutches.

Yes. Six seconds is a lot. When you (hkraft) say increase the spring rate by a click or 2 - could you specify? I'm too dumb to get what you mean. There are a lot of negatives in the damper set ups and increase and decrease become complex. Indeed, my lines could well be wrong. Though I did watch Driver61 and try to copy. I certainly take a different line to the AI - especially coming in to Luffield. I simply cannot get turned in if I start as wide as the AI. And if I drift out and miss the apex on the first turn in, then they simply get me on the inside. As I said, I'm not great at any track, but I struggle particularly at Silverstone and Hockenheim. Both fast, sinewy circuits, so quite possibly down to my driving style. The only place I'm in any kind of contention is Snetterton where I can get within a couple of seconds of the top times.

And the number of clutches? I haven't explored that option. What's the general rule?
