Samsung C49RG9 ultrawide .....Anyone have one?

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this?

My sim rig i currently run a 55" 4k tv and in PC2 i run it at its native 4k resolution. It works fine but the FOV isnt very wide. Ive tried VR ( Not my thing) so im looking at buying samsung's new 49" ultrawide, the newer model having 1440 height rather than the previous gen being 1080p

I know im going to lose a load of height from my current tv but will i have a greater FOV with the ultrawide? being able to see one of the mirrors with the correct fov set?

Theirs a video on youtube but i dont speak spanish here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSibKKjLn74

Does anyone have one and what are your thoughts?

    Thanks

    I'm in similar situation. I have 65" 4k samsung I use.
To make it worse, that exact model is 15% off here right now....
But there's too many recent purchases, so I will wait.

I went so far to make a cardboard cutout of the dimensions and put it where it would go (mounted behind my wheel), to compare the 'view' I would have compared to where my TV is (on a tv stand in behind my pedals/feet)
Because it would be closer, the 'height' would actually be similar (what I would see). Hope you understand what I mean. Closer, but shorter, would result in the area of vision top to bottom very similar to my 65" TV. So in game, I guess it would actually be quite similar 'view' assuming FOV was adjusted.
Width wise though, it's a big difference what I would see, just with it being much closer than the TV.

I'm quite intrigued by the refresh rate too (compared to my tv 60hz) and whether or not I'd really be able to see a significant improvement. Never tried or had anything more than 60.
It's quite close to 4K pixels, so I guess my 1080ti would give similar performance to what I get now running 4K on my TV. Slightly better due to few less pixel count? So I'd probably get 80-90 fps using my current graphics settings (as on my TV), but difference would be that my card would run full-tilt, where now I use vsync and it keeps the card temps down.

Despite the 15% sale, I think I will wait.

If you get one, please report back your findings.... it's hard to find any good reviews from sim-racers on this particular monitor...

I have been using a LG 29" and enjoy it! It's close to 3 inches of added width on the screen. The resolution being 2560x1080 is definitely better than 1920x1080 on my 60" TV.

I use a 24" AOC computer monitor its not the best thing or most expensive out there (only cost me $100) but it gets the job done i dont see a need to have any bigger than it

When I don't use VR I use a 55" inch monitor though, although it's called an OLED TV. So if we are going to play that game.
