The Camaro in AMS is NOT on slicks, they are (not very capable) street tyres.
As the model of the Camaro is really old it may look like a Slick-/SemiSlick-Tyre but that' just the old model, not the physics

Yeah, that's how the "street tires" all looked in Game Stock Car, which is where the Camaro SS is ported from. It's an old car and has very little to do with the Camaro ZL1 shown in the video.

The video of the ZL1 is a good indicator of how one should take these corners. Compare that to the first "complaint" video and you'll quickly see why and where it all goes wrong.

This is the Camaro SS modeled in Automobilista:

.. and here is the 2018 version:

Yeah.. that's a 25 second laptime difference. These are not equal machines.

Isn't the zl1 a "hardcore" track version with sporty suspension and sticky tyres?

Yes. But even that one has changed over the years. The 2012 Zl1 doesn't do nearly as well on the Nordschleife as the latest model. Also as we all know, tire technology has taken a huge leap in the past few years.

I respectfully disagree. Tyre technology might be more advanced now but 2012 wasn't stone age. The 2012 Camaro still is a high performance sports car. It might not be the latest model but it definitely isn't an old car. Of course the 2019 car is the better car overall, having more power also helps with improving your lap time at the Nordschleife, doesn't it?
Anyways, the statement was, 50mph is highway speed so it should be unrealistic to expect a car tackling T1 VIR at those speeds. A video has been postet with a clumsy Camaro (the ZL1 still is a darn heavy car) that can take T1 at those speeds, but now the 'argument' has shifted and you start downplaying the 'older' car's performance and tyre quality. I think even the 2010 Camaro can take that corner with its 'vintage' tyres.
    Cars drive much better IRL.

Edit: Look how nicely the 2010 Camaro drives. The driver gets nice and early on the power.

By laptimes the 2010 was on par with the Focus video. So, that should give a better estimate! 45-50 mph should be manageable in the Camaro without a total loss of grip from 35-50 mph.
