private testing in project cars 2 while in career mode

Can anyone tell me why I can't do any private testing on tracks that I'm going to race in career mode? I just moved up to the LMP3 series an when I tried to go an practice on one of the tracks the car would not respond to any input and just would float, no control at all. I even tried to test a different car an it didn't work either. I was able to do that in the series before this one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe your controller or wheel was experiencing some issues, so it wouldn't connect properly to the game.

    Seems to be working now.

Thanks, I tried again an the practice session was just fine. Must have been a clitch in the game but thanks for your input.
