I don't quite know how to explain it. PC2 and Vive VR gfx issues.

Having gfx issues when i'm playing online. Doesn't happen in career mode.

Whilst racing online, the Vive screen seems to 'pulse' (i can very briefly see the mountains of the Vive VR loading screen) and when it does, I lose the ability to change gear and other driving actions. It's soooooo frustrating, but it all happens very briefly, then I'm back in control and it pulses again.

My hardware is getting on a bit...

Asus X79 Deluxe mobo (2011) (I've had this mobo for 9 years - I know I know I need to get a new rig)
    I7-4820k overclocked to 4.3ghz (LGA 2011)
    32 GB ram
Nvidia GTX 1060 OC 6GB (standard OC settings)
    Running windows 10 pro

    1st gen Vive WMD.
Wireless internet connection showing 56 Mbits, with a ping less than 20.

I don't know about the others, but this will surely affect your online play. Avoid using wireless if you can. And ping doesn't say anything real about the connection when playing.

You can get internet over power and use it with cable. Works amazing!

internet over power is little bit vague.
Search for powerline network and you'll find a mass of adaptors that can help.

It sure does. I actually replaced my Netgear R7000 that I was using as an access point by these. Much faster (wired and WiFi) and more stable (WiFi) connection!
