Help decide 27 vs 32in Triple Screen Setup

I need some help from those that have used both sizes.

I will be racing mostly Project Cars 2/3, iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione

My PC is an i9 with 32GB RAM and RTX 2080. I am not interested in VR at the moment.

Rig: rSeat S1 and will likely get at Sim-Lab triple monitor stand. Fanatec CSW 2.5, formula wheel and V3 pedals. Currently using a 4K 55in TV at about 95cm from me.

With the triple setup I can get a 27in monitor about 55cm from me if the monitor sits between the wheel and wheelbase or I can get the 32in about 70cm if monitors are just behind the wheelbase. I used the edracing.com to calculate the distance based on size of monitor.

    I would like to get a 1440p, <5ms, 144+Hz monitor. Ideally with G-Sync.

Most of the 32in monitors I am considering are VA and do not have G-Sync. The 27in ones are IPS and some have G-Sync.

Main question is regarding the size in order to get the desired 1:1 and 180FoV.

Would you rather have a IPS 27in just behind the wheel with G-Sync or 32in VA behind the wheelbase with no G-Sync?

Thank you in advance for your input.

I would go with 27" at 55cm IPS, the sides will not look washed out with IPS and 55cm is pretty close so you wouldn't be far off 1:1, 32's at 70cm would give about the same impression as they are a bit further away, closer the better imo, even 24's right up close can work as I have them.

Indeed my IPS 27inch panels are great for such setup. Eye distance is 60cm. Side panels are set to a 50degree angle.

I hear you. Read everywhere that the closer the better. I have just placed by TV at 70 and felt a bit tight for me. Maybe because it's a 55in TV. I may have to go 32 just to give a bit more distance. I wish I could get a 32 IPS monitor. Most are VA with I understand is in between an TN and IPS as far as quality. Will wait and see what Black Friday will bring us...

Thank all for the reply. I wonder if someone could comment on what performance should I expect from a GTX 2080 / i9 9900K combo to run triple 1440p monitors...

You don't have to worry with those 2.
Look at my system and I run fairly high settings on 7680x1440

Thank you Olijke, I hope the 2080 is on par with the 1080Ti. What monitors are you running?

    Cheers

Thx man. Sorry I missed that. Not familiar with that brand of monitor. Unfortunately not available with Amazon Prime in Canada...

Those are great monitors but only a bit low on Hz. it is more for DTP than for gaming. I had one and bought two of the same extra for my triple setup. I could not afford three new 1440P screens at 144Hz.
