Thanks KD. I was originally planning to buy PC2 but blew it. I might try it on Steam first. I'd hate to have spent all the time and cash to get my setup only to have the experience ruined by a $30.00 game!

Does it have the same blurriness issues as PC1?
It's a lot better as it has more control over things like supersampling and has a sharpening filter (see previous post) which makes things look a lot better.
It should also support the NVidia variable rate super sampling (not sure when they will add it to the list of supported titles, but you can force it apparently with some messing about)

When looking for an up grade to my CPU my wife (and computer builder) came across an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core, 24-thread unlocked desktop processor with Wraith Prism LED cooler with X570 AORUS Ultra Gaming Motherboard. She thought she'd replace them both and wants to know if this would be better than the R5 3600X or if it has any issues that anyone is aware of?
Thanks,
It would be significantly better than the R5, but I sure wouldn't recommend to run it on the boxed cooler. This chip sure has some heat to get rid of so I'd rather go for an aio watercooler.
But since I don't know your mainboard, the chip might be a bight overkill if you don't have a X470 or X570 mainboard. If you have a B350 for example, many of those cannot supply sufficient power to the CPU.
The 3900X is a bit harder to overclock and won't reach the max boost target of 4,6 Ghz by default. It will probably top out at 4,3. To get a solid 4,6 or more, the boxed wraith won't cut it and you will have to overclock it manually.

don't forget to use DDR4-3200 or -3600 memory. That gives also a big boost over older -2400 chips.

Huge jump from the 1400x to 3600x but very minor performance boost from the 3600x to the 3900x. For best performance you'll want to use DDR4 3600 or 3733 on the Ryzen 3 series. Project Cars2 won't use more than 4 cores + 1 core for VR. You'll get a much bigger bump upgrading from the RTX2070 to the RTX2080 series videocard. That's where I would focus my money.
What line?
PC: Ryzen7 5800x, RTX 3080, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD HD, Oculus Rift, Vive Pro, HP Reverb G1 and G2
Wheel/Pedal: Fanatec Clubsport wheel, pedal, shifter and handbrake
Passing all this info on to my computer goddess. Thank you all, you guys are the best.
