Smile DOYO R270 Steering Wheel not working with Project Cars 2 on Steam

Running Windows 10 Pro, i5 CPU, and decent graphics card.

The DOYO R270 Steering wheel has everything a Logitech wheel has, plus pedals.

I can use the steering wheel in other games, I used steam's calibration tool before. When I go to control settings in PC2 and select wheel, my type is not listed, so I put in "Custom" and "Single Pedal", but when trying to configure the wheel I always get the error, "Other settings have no been assigned. Please assign those and return here again" (paraphrasing).

Any idea how to get this to work?

    Thanks!

    An Update:

I got the pedals to work by going in and assigning "keys" to them, they work fine in-game. I tried the same with the wheel, and when it says "press for input" I turn the wheel but says "Left Joystick left" like on an Xbox Controller. Same with turning right.

I then tried to calibrate the wheel, and I got the picture of the wheel and followed the instructions and saved. All should be good right? Nope.

Tried a test race, but the wheel was unresponsive, I tried every button on it but it just wouldn't turn. Pedals worked fine.

Saw a post on Steam saying to uncheck "Generic controller settings", which I did already.

    Any suggestions?

    Another update:

    [RESOLVED]
Seems switching from "Wheel" to "gamepad" fixed everything. Calibrating through Steam was enough I guess. Even though the game says I'm steering with buttons, I'm actually using a 270 degree sensitive wheel, the steering is perfect, so are the pedals. Happy Racing!
