View Full Version : DS4 speaker when connected with optical output headset

So I've read a few posts and a number of people are posting stuff and I don't think its been that clear.

My issue is:

Pit crew comments only come through the DS4 speaker,in the game menu you get volume control for this (option of 0-100) and if I press and hold PS button and go to adjust devices yes I get the option of volume control for the speaker - neither of these are a solution as when the headset is on I cant hear the pit crew at all if I have my headset on.

The standard wired headsets to controller seem to be operating fine - the reason for this is simple. The audio mix is set to all audio on the standard headsets however for the optical connected you have to change the audio for headset to chat only (game sound goes via optical - for example setup guide for my Astro A50 http://forums.astrogaming.com/index.php?threads/astro-gen2-equipment-connecting-to-the-ps4.81594/) if I switch this to all audio yes I will ehar the pit crew however there is then two audio inputs to the headset and they are at a delay to each other so echo occurs.

The fix that's required is an in-game menu option to switch that audio to headset/surround system when in use - this is done in other games, one for example GTA V, in the audio menu there is an option to change audio type and then change speaker to come through main source of audio (in my scenario my headset)

There are no PS4 menu options that can help resolve this correctly. There is currently no option in the game to change the output for this audio from the controller to an alternative source.

Please, Please can someone from Project CARS please take a look and help out users like myself by implementing this menu option to allow the pit crew audio to be directed through headsets/surround sound systems that are connected via an optical cable.

I have a similar issue, I use a HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition HDMI recorder on my PS4 and as there's no way of switching the speaker to coming out of the TV it's not being recorded. As Bartell says GTA V also has speaker audio but allows you to have it play through the TV instead, which works great in that game.

Same issue with Turtle Beach Stealth 500p

The game is meant to be played with a wheel (IMO) and they didn't put the options to have the pit crew audio switched to another output other than the controller??? Come on!

I use the Thrustmaster T300RS to race and I play ALL my games with my Steelseries H Wireless headphones and I would like to be able to hear the radio chatter of my crew.

Have you changed the output to headphones to all audio ?

Yes thanks. Guess you never read the part I said I did this and it creates a double audio feed that's un-useable

Early days boys. Everyone is on a learning curve. Have you put it in the game suggestjon thread??? Sooner you do anything the sooner we can all get the ball rolling.

I'm really enjoying the game but I find it annoying to have audio coming through the DS4 speaker, I'd rather have the option to have it coming through the TV speakers/home theater system like I have in GTA5.
