View Full Version : Is there an acution Block for the Xone so I can acution my cars to other players
Haven't bought the game yet , as I need to know :
A : Can car's be sold ?
B: Gifted to other players ?
C : Is there a public online auction to auction Cars ? If so Can we set any price we want to sell them for ?
I played FM 1-5 . F3 and 5 both did not live up to standard so This game looks like it could be what I am looking for
If this question has been asked sory for posting it . If this game lives up to my standards I will see you on the race track .
Thanks for you replies in advance
You can not buy or sell cars in the game, nor gift them. DLC aside everybody has access to the same cars and tuning options.

This game isnt a car collection game like Forza and Gran Turismo to where you have to grind out money to buy said cars. There will never be a car auction or gift a car as everyone already has access to all the cars in the game.
so that means Once I buy a car and if I don't like it I cant sell it to at least get some of my money back ?
Seems every game is punking people this way I had high hopes this game would allow me options the others don't .
About tuning options : Not everyone knows how to tune a car to be a leader board car , even if you have the same options , wont mean your tuning setup for the same car will handle like someone elates , Hence I would sell cars I have tuned and put cool original graphics on it and sell the car for a profit . this is how I made over 100million just auctioning cars in F2 and F4
Part of the fun is tweaking a car setting leaderboard records and selling those cars with the tuning setup
.

U dont buy anything, there is no money. When you buy the game you get ALL the cars.
Do you even play this game?
You dont buy cars. Every car is available to use from the start.
There's no reason to sell cars, because there is no economy in the game.
Just setup a points system for designers and tuners to share designs and tunes, obviously the more they give away the more reputation points they receive, bonus points for + positive designs and tunes and - for rubbish so the market doesnt get flooded with crap

Some people have no idea at all how to tune a car, I get requests daily to tune this and that, the think I have going for me is because I was a mechanic, I know what the components and adjustments are going to do, and how to set it up

if you don't know what certain things do there are plenty of people here posting valuable information. you also can set times in the cars without tuning. my point was setting times and just racing in general is the fun part of this game, and not that distracting shiny fluffery in the other games. i dont want a car dealership sim.

they got to learn somewhere, and now is a good time to start as any. Keep pumping them out bud, people can only learn from you. Copy catting will only get you so far.

This game allows options others don't - Namely, not having to grind a bunch of stuff you don't want to do to get what you do want. Want to race a GT3 car? Cool. Select the car, and go race. :)
There's no buying or selling or anything in the game. You race. That's what the game is about. :)

It would be better just to have a auction block as in F5 no one whos are real car builder ever uses the store front . The problem with getting rep points is some people will give as many people a carp rating just to boost their own rep that happened in F3 and F5 . Based on the answers I will try this game . Because you don't have to buy the cars then I can live without an auction block .
Thanks for your replies . see you all on the race track

Thats why I would like to see an auction block , So people like you and me can paint the car buy the parts tune it to the max for what ever class we put in and sell for enough money to make a profit while making it so only those who work hard can afford to buy a potential leader board car . Made over 300million selling cars I put cool original graphic designs and great tuning setups on the car .

There's no currency ingame what you going spend the credits on? Thats why I suggested a reputation score, the more people who (likes) the paint or tune will prevail

people just want some type of "score"
im not entirely sure why any "score" would matter besides lap times and season standings in a racing game tho

The lack of said 'economy' features was one of the dev's major marketing distinctions for the game; it's almost a certainty that you will not see them here.

Guys, stop saying "You get all the cars" when "all" is only 62 plus 2 karts. That's what people need to know.
Adding an auction/economic system just makes the game that much deeper, inviting more players. Which developer doesn't want that? Project Cars was a nice try but won't sell as much as Forza or GT. Buyers beware, take it from me who pre-ordered.

There is no reason to add a economic aspect to the game. Keeping the economic aspect away from the game is actually more inviting then a game that has one. A auction would take away from the main aspect of this game (which is sim racing). I had many friends on 360 that only used forza for a artistic outlet and stopped racing altogether, and some only tuned cars (but didnt partake in really playing the game, only to test tunes).

Adding an economic system to get cars/tracks is a strong dis-incentive to me

Stop trying to turn this into forza! If you want to have auctions and the like then play that. This game concentrates on career racing.

Well said, I ain't very good but most of the times I do not alter the mechanics of the car and it feels good the only thing I will change is tyre pressure or compound . I have played forza but project cars I think is way better . The only problem I have is the camera view I like 3rd person view or as in the game chase camera when going down hill you cannot see where you are going have tried changing angles in setting but no good , also some tracks the sun just makes it impossible to see . Any ways did not mean to go on for this long sorry .

We? Are we schizophrenic or are we talking like we know what everyone else wants? The thousands of members of WMD did not want an economic system.
I think there must be room on the market for a car trading game. No racing at all.
You just buy cars, iPolish them, and sell them.
It could be called "Arthur Daley simulator" ;)

I do hope there is no intention of ever making this part of the game. I don't understand why someone buys a simulator and then really wqnts all this arcade/forza style functionality.

We? Are we schizophrenic or are we talking like we know what everyone else wants? The thousands of members of WMD did not want an economic system. Millions would be better in my book. There are far more casual racers that enjoy building, painting, tunning and selling said cars than serious hard core sim racers. But PC is what it is I guess a sim and as long as the thousands are loving it just how it is I wouldn't improve or add any extra game features down the road besides Who wants all those other guys anyway let them play FMS. Honestly I could careless one way or another but I don't see how those extra features would make PC any less of a sim because the racing wouldn't change.

if devs keep catering to people that aren't at heart a fan of the basic premise of a game different from what they're used to, all we'll have is a bunch of clones of the same games.
we need more innovation and out-of-the-box from devs like sms.
games were getting stale for a while.

I really have no idea why this thread even exists here, SMS along with 80,000 WMD members decided that PCars was going to be a Racing Simulator, with the only focus being purely racing, be it offline or online and a career mode with every possible option available as to where you wish to start your career in whatever car/series you feel like.
Anyone thinking of buying this game having read all the reviews and info on exactly what this game is and what it is not would have an easy choice on whether to buy it or not.
If you thought there was not enough cars or that there is no money or XP and no cars or tracks to unlock, nothing to buy or sell but simply a game that you race cars and nothing else, then most people would simply think to themselves well this game is obviously not what i'm looking for in a game and move on to something else.
The day any of that stuff gets anywhere near this wonderful game is the day it gets wiped off my hard drive.

If you want this type of thing go buy Forza. It has no place in a SIM
i agree I just don't see what it hurts having those other features it just draws in more people. I'm not knocking the game just saying more is better and it wouldn't change the sim racing factor at all.
As soon as you add money and XP and all that crap, you've destroyed what the career mode is - a racing driver's career. So, yes, it would change the sim racing factor.
Also, doing all that stuff takes time. A lot of time. All of the mechanics need to be worked out, parameters fine-tuned throughout a LOT of play-testing, and everything hooked up properly (both to the UI and to the mechanics that award the goals). The time spent doing that would be better utilized in other places - especially for a relatively small team like SMS.
People need to understand that literally every single thing - feature, UI element, option, whatever - takes time and resources to develop. That's why we, the WMD community, were against it. We decided that energy was much better spent on other aspects of the game. Option or no option, "you don't have to use it" or no - the time invested is time invested. Period.

If you want to pretend there is "currency", set yourself an arbitrary number of Wins to reach before you let yourself drive the next car.
Me, I'll be enjoying them all from the start. I actually just finished the LMP1 championship and am now running in the Clio Cup :)

PCars does give you options that other console sims don't, and a lot of them. What is the point of making $100M in video game credits? Did you buy anything in the RL with that cash? It's monopoly money. Who cares? The system is there to create a grind mentally--must make more cash to buy more cars and stuff. PCars says, "I know why you're here, so let's dispense with the BS. They're all yours." You're right, part of the fun is tweaking your car and setting leading laps times. But for people that like to race, the other part isn't selling, it's racing. You know, the thing you do with race cars. The game you describe should probably be titled, I]Racing Tycoon[/I] or Racing Mogul . In it, you can play team owner or billionaire collector, and you won't have to worry about all that silly track time.

Forza has hundred of cars, and over half of them are completely useless to anyone that wants sim-style racing. Why would I buy a racing sim to drive an SUV or a Prius. If that's your thing, fine. But don't knock a game geared toward racing enthusiast for having a smaller, race-focused garage. Personally, I 'm glad I don't have to constantly scroll through all the crap cars in Forza's arsenal, and constantly delete the ridiculous sh!t stains cluttering my garage.

Wheeler dealers sim. You can have that numpty fat southern twonk walking in slapping cars and leaning on them without any consideration for paintwork. Get cars in and fix them up, never include the cost of the mechanics time in how much it costs to fix up. Maybe actually only have to drive any cars for perhaps five minutes in total to check if it drives straight. Imagine the hours of fun trawling a fake internet to find the right car ( in the tv show they always show you the car in the 'coming up' stage of the show, so in game maybe it should stop you buying the one you as a gamer want by showing you the car you will have to find and buy). Guest appearances in game from edd, but make sure you dont do the ufo car or edd wont turn up.
Oh man, i can see this being such a good game, far better than the 'watch paint dry simulator', no doubt everyone remembers the garden shed level, what a pain that was, always got a fly in the paint before it dried.
Anyway, project cars is about driving i think, so likely no fun to people who dont want cars unlocked and available from the start. Also a bit of an issue in selling cars in this game bearing in mind that others with the game will already have one of their own.
Dammit. Just going to have to get on with racing now then
Ps, there is a chance wheeler dealers the game might not make it to wii u release, summink to do with how much processing power is needed to get mikes head fully on screen.
