How do I get screengrabs out of the game

I just finished my first custom paint and I feel its looking sweet however I can't seem to get any screen grabs from out of the game. Taking photos in the game ends up with an .med file I can't open. Print screen doesn't work, I just get and empty window.

How are you all doing it?

F12 is the screenshot hotkey in Steam. :)
