Custom liveries are not allowed for this car due to licensing restrictions. That's why there is no template.

I believe the DTM license restricts any logos on the actual car, thus why there is no actual liveries in the game for it...... Which mean no Templates or custom schemes as well.....

Not to mention there is no Custom Livery option for it in game even if you had the template.

Hopefully a licence is in the pipeline so we can have DTM races. Really want the BMW DTM so beautiful from the front mmmmmm sexy.

The DTM Mercedes Cars seen in the game so ugly on the paint.
Had I known that are so ugly I would not have bought the large Project Cars Packet. Ok I understand that with the license. But you can not make better Paint than the current one?

The license forbids logos and numbers on the cars, as well as complex designs, because that would look too close to a real race car, and it would therefore constitute a "DTM race," which we are not allowed to do without a proper license from the DTM series itself.

Is that the reason the Audi A4 DTM was dropped or was that an Audi licencing issue? Having 2 competing models race together would certainly constitute a DTM race. It a huge pity as I was really looking forward to racing the Audi.

The A4 was also not their current DTM car. When it was removed, i think we all hoped that Audi would be coming into the game with the new DTM coupe, same as Mercedes.

Pity that now we have neither, as I also enjoyed the A4. To me, it simply was C.A.R.S....

Although there is a reason for licensing etc but for petes sake these guys need to relax around these rules and regulations. Its just for a game. Seriously being able to mimic DTM races would go a long way in generating more interest in the DTM series.

Just weird how Assetto Corsa has the License and no issue with Liveries.


Seems some have cracked this and are doing Custom liveries.

I think the skins work with some kind of livery manager that he has designed

Not cracked btw, started with a blank sheet of digital paper, collected the shapes from the in-game liveries as a starting point, added a mesh and started to figure out where which parts are.. Not the quality of the official templates, but one is able to work with it.. Plus I included some goodies of schemes I already made, so no need to make them twice.

We don't know the details of the license agreements of pCARS and those other games, so nothing much can be said about it. Could be about money, could be about the way fictional liveries are supported by the game, could be that McLaren changed their mind after previously allowing it, who knows.
