Hi all,
Below are the current list of issues that are addressed in patch 2.0.
PLEASE NOTE - The patch is not yet finalized and is still in testing, meaning that some of this may still change. I will post up the final list, or confirm that this one is final, as soon as the fixes are all confirmed and the patch is in final submission.
We want to get this posted up so that you all are aware of the fixes being addressed in this patch. We are investigating and fixing all reported issues, so if there is an issue that you don't see in this list, please don't post "Where is the fix for this issue?" style questions in this thread. There are dedicated threads in other areas on the forum where you can post and discuss other issues. Please keep discussions in this thread to issues mentioned in the list below.
Finally, please be aware that this patch is not yet in submission with Microsoft and Sony, so we are most likely looking at a few weeks before it will be released. We will post the final release dates as soon as we have them.
Project CARS – Patch 2.0 – Release Notes
Performance Improvements
* PC – up to 5% frame rate improvement when using Ultra settings
* XB1 – up to 17% frame rate improvement in extreme conditions
Online & Community Events
* Multiplayer search filter 'Skill' now finds games based upon certain lobby game configuration criteria. For example, “Pro” setting now searches for Full Damage, Auto-start Engine, Forced Cockpit, Mechanical Failure, and so forth.
* Community events page – when an event cannot be entered, it will now display the reason why: ‘Coming Soon’ along with a countdown, or ‘Expired’.
* Online – Ensure that vehicle light repairs are synchronized in MP races so that repaired headlights are visible by other racers.
* Xbox One - fix attempt for a hard-to-reproduce issue where the game would at times freeze or crash when 8 or more players joined a session all at once.
* Xbox One – fixed an issue that at times would prevent a player from establishing full connectivity when leaving a lobby and trying to reconnect to it.
* PS4 – fixed an issue where, after the PS4 resumes from Rest Mode, no network features can be used.
Controls – All platforms
* Adjustments made to the gears system, to prevent gears being skipped under certain conditions. This addresses an issue where gears would at times jump straight down to 1st, potentially causing engine blowouts.
* Steering wheels – reduced the centering rate of the steering spring. This improves the feel of steering wheels at very low speeds.
* Added support for the use of all active controllers for menu input. You can for example now use a steering wheel to race, and a gamepad to control the menus and photo mode.
* Gear shifters – when using an H-shifter on a car that has a sequential gearbox, the gearbox will now switch through the gears until the gear selected on the H-shifter is reached.
* Fixed an issue in Force Feedback calibration that would prevent a player from setting "Soft Clipping (Half Input)" back to 0 after modifying it from the original value.
Controls – PS4
* Thrustmaster T100 Force Feedback improvements.
* Fixed the Force Feedback dynamics for wheels with physical steering locks which were less than the steering lock of the vehicle in-game. This fixes the Force Feedback on the Thrustmaster T100 and similar wheels.
* Added a Motion Sensor controller profile.
* Fixed a crash issue when disconnecting and reconnecting Fanatec wheels.
* Enable support for USB keyboards to be used for in-game controls.
Controls – Xbox One
* Built in protection to prevent unsupported controller devices from crashing the game.
* Gear shifters – fixed an issue that prevented the selection of neutral when using an H-gate shifter add-on with a car that has an H-gate shifter in-game.
* Implemented accelerator vibration on the gamepad right trigger to indicate when and how much the tyres slip under acceleration.
* Madcatz wheel - fixed an issue where the switch on the wheel to change between 270 to 900 degree mode stopped functioning.
Physics & AI
* Slowed down the AI opponents in the rain when using racing tyres, to make racing against them better balanced.
* Adjusted the AI tyre wear rate to better match the player’s tyre wear rate.
* Adjusted wear of Slicks and Rain tires to more realistic levels where needed. Typically GT/LMP/Formula cars will get slightly more than a full fuel load on soft or default slicks (depending on fuel load amounts).
* Adjusted the heating of slicks and rain tyres to more realistic levels.
* Adjusted tyre temperature sensitivity on several cars.
* Adjusted rain tyres to generally be more sensitive to overheating, and less efficient in the dry.
* Improvements to AI navigation to lessen collisions during cramped race starts, improve detection of other cars during cornering, and improve clean overtaking
* Improved the AI pitting logic during practice and qualifying so that the AI cars run more realistic stints before pitting.
* Reworked the AI’s fuelling logic during qualifying sessions where no refuelling is allowed, so that they don’t always fill up the fuel tanks and negatively impact their qualifying ability. The AI will now deliver far more competitive lap times during qualifying.
* Fixed an issue where the AI would set impossible lap times during races with pit stops.
* The AI will now pit as soon as possible when low on fuel to prevent them running out of fuel and retiring from the race.
* Reduced the effect of damage to the car’s cooling system when suffering aero damage. This prevents engines from overheating and blowing at an unrealistic rate.
* Fixed an issue that prevented bump starts from working properly on some cars. An example case – with gears and clutch set to manual, take an Ariel Atom out on Brands Hatch. At the first right hander, stall the car, ignition on, 2nd gear, roll down the hill up to about 15kph and drop the clutch. The car will now bump start. Exact conditions for a successful bump start will vary slightly by car.
* Fixed an issue where at times some AI drivers in a race would use much higher skill levels than the rest of the field.
* Fixed an issue that prevented the AI from pitting within the final 3 laps of a race
* Further tweaked the AI ability in wet races to more closely match the player car’s ability in the wet
* Improved the AI’s efficiency in pit timing when needing to change tyres due to weather conditions.
Pitting, tuning, setups
* Fixed an issue where wet tyres were fitted too long before the rain starts, causing excessive overheating and wear on the tyres.
* Fixed an issue where, when running low on fuel, the Pit Board would appear to tell the player to do a scheduled pit stop when the player did not schedule a pit stop.
* Fixed an issue where flat tyres were fitted to the car during a pit stop, by ensuring that the tyres are correctly inflated.
* Fixed an issue where the car’s bump-stop value decreased after leaving a race session and joining it again.
* Reworked the brake bias display information so that changing the values is more intuitive.
Tracks
* Performance optimisation pass done on: Brands Hatch layouts, Cadwell layouts, Oulton Park layouts, Bathurst, Azure circuit, and Zolder. This helps improve the overall smoothness when racing on these tracks with large grids of cars.
* Track cutting tolerances reduced on all tracks where it was too forgiving.
* Fixed an issue where a pit crew character would at times appear floating above the race track on various tracks.
* Silverstone Stowe – fixed render issues on some tyre stacks, and addressed an issue with cars driving through certain objects.
* Road America – fixed an issue where a line of grass line appeared in the air near a concrete barrier.
* Spa Francorchamps – fixed an issue where cars under AI control would bump into the pit wall when exiting the pit lane. Fixed an issue where the AI were running too wide over the exit curb at the Bus Stop Chicane.
* Brno – fixed an issue where cars would at times start in the same grid positions, fixed garage six to prevent the AI from getting stuck on the right side wall when exiting the garage spot, fixed an issue when running more than 20 cars in a race would cause the car in 21st to slide into the pits.
* Le Mans – fixed an issue that would at times cause the car to crash while in the pit lane, leading to a disqualification. Improved the AI race line for better speed, and improved the AI behaviour on curbs.
* Laguna Seca – improved the AI performance as they were running too slow in some sections.
* Imola – Improved the pit lane AI navigation, and fixed an issue with a section of the fence at the pit entrance that appear to float.
* Bathurst - fixed a render issue with shimmering edges in parts of the track.
Career
* Added a new RUF RGT8 GT3 contract to ensure that the player can enter the RUF GT3 series on contract renewal and not just when starting a new career.
* Fixed the unlock details for the Supercar Ardennes Club Day Invitational.
* Fixed an issue where skipping the session during a race caused the player to move up in the session results.
Vehicles
* Group 5 cars – adjusted the gearshift timing tolerances to fix an issue with the gearing when pausing and restarting a session.
* Gumpert Apollo – fixed an issue with the livery sets that caused the livery selection to display wrong liveries.
* Aston Martin Vantage GT3 – tuned engine lifetime and brake cooling parameters for better accuracy.
* Lotus 98T – tweaked turbo to improve AI estimation of top speed.
* McLaren F1 GTR – modified the default setup and reduced front bump steer to improve straight line stability, fixed an issue to ensure that the car’s specific HUD motec display is used
* McLaren F1 - Fixed an issue that caused the car to use the wrong default tyre compound.
* Ford GT40 MK4 – Reworked in several areas to improve handling and match the real car closer - Bump stops settings exposed in setup with better tuned setup defaults, increased wrap around stiffness of the tire carcass, rebalanced base vs tear grip, rebalanced player vs AI rain performance against the AI.
* All Formula vehicles – Stop brake light reflections appearing on cars that don’t have brake lights.
General
* Fixed an issue where the player position would at times change to last when player crosses the starting line during rolling starts.
* Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when selecting the ‘Edit Tuning Setup’ option in the ‘PIT BOX’ screen.
* Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash while watching a saved replay.
* Driver Network Profile – fixed an issue where entering Free Practice mode would count toward Races Entered.
* PS4 – fixed an issue that required the game to first restart after installing an in-game DLC before the DLC would be available for use.
* Audio – rebalanced the volume of skid sounds to make them a bit more audible.
* PC, Oculus Rift – added Oculus 0.6.0.0 SDK support, enabled positional tracking in non-helmet player camera views, implemented initial menus and HUD support, auto reset player view position at the start of a race, and disabled all non-VR-friendly scripted pre-race camera sequences.
* PC, D-BOX – fixed an issue that caused cars to lose power when playing with D-BOX connected.
* Updated the achievement "I am the 5%" to ensure that it can be achieved in non-Pro-modes as well.
* Fixed a game crash issue caused by an overflow of the email inbox when the player received above a certain amount of invitational emails.
* GUI – fixed an issue where the controls configuration arrows in Options would not respond correctly to mouse input when attempting fine adjustment.

i have a stonker now :distracted:
So you go from 1.4 to 1.5 to 2.0? It is little confusing, it is not clear whether this is next patch or some future patch.
awesome patch notes, i'm gonna be a pain and ask, any update on the audio echoing issue and also the lack of hearing ppl in multiplayer games, on the xbox one version. these 2 fixes ontop of the above list would make this game perfect (for me :P

*Genuine question alert - this is not a drill*
Why make this 2.0 rather than 1.5? Is there just that much change that's gone on that calling it 1.5 would be misleading/technically wrong...?
EDIT: Or was there a 1.5 release on other platforms that I missed?

Oh snap! and this is why i'm highly addicted to this game! Just keeps getting better and better! Thanks for all your hard work boyz.
One questions is when your racing open wheel and forget to brake because your use to GT and the cars having brake lights lol anyway when you run into the back of an open wheel car they go over top of you, any way of making this type of collision more realistic? I'd rather pay for my stupidity then have an unrealistic collision which usually has no damage effect. Anyways just a thought, either way I haven't stopped playing this game since launch!
Welcome to us abandoning pCARS1 guys.
Absolutely....Hope this helps to put that stupid rumour to bed  And a big well done for addressing issues so quick.

Because it's worth it. There are some substantial changes here.

Thanks for the information guys.
Could you tell us if there might be any improvement to the Xbox Gamechat as a result of any of these fixes please?
We "as a group of just over 50 racers" would like to form full grids but with the gamechat intermittent at best, it's killing it for us, cheers.
Welcome to us abandoning pCARS1 guys.
I can't see anything to address settings not being saved. Can't see anything on lobbies being stabilized to reduce crashing and can't see anything about the infuriating bug where the car tries to drive into the pits on low fuel using steering assist on when running low fuel. Not to mention all the little bugs like land mines, random penalties for nothing etc.
If it's there and I missed it, apologies in advance.
I've read the list twice so forgive me if I missed it, but is the setup career issue of not saving changes also being picked up?

Wow that's a big list! Is "setups reverting to default" still being worked on, if I can ask? Thanks and well done!
EDIT: lol sorry , already asked as i was typing!
EDIT: Or was there a 1.5 release on other platforms that I missed?
Next update was unofficially called 1.5 here on pCARS forums. Now it is clear that we'll go from 1.4 to 2.0 straight away. Thanks for clarification, Ian. Thanks for your hard work, guys.
P.S.: Now that I see you are able to fix so many issues in such a limited time, a thought goes through my mind - if you released pCARS on 1st of September with all major bugs fixed, wouldn't you get 2 millions instead of one? :-)
Gold for Project Cars 2 incoming here if this patch is fixing the wheel issues with the ffb finally.
thanks guys!
...* Driver Network Profile – fixed an issue where entering Free Practice mode would count toward Races Entered.
...
Just wondering about this one.
This is exactly the same with qualifying, and you can't "win" them.
You can win the Qualy, but it does not count as a win in the Driver network.
In case you guys are working on this, it would be nice to add that too.
Also... For some reason, Online races are sometimes not calculated properly.
For example:
I have 2 first plaes, 6 podiums 10 other results.
But I - according to the Driver network - only entered 16 races.
Somehow the Math does not add up.
Would it be possible to at least add a script, that would clean that up?
Awesome list, thanks for your work SMS :)
Lots and Lots of fixes I'm looking forward to in that list :)
I'll be able to unpack my TH8A again :)

Welcome to us abandoning pCARS1 guys.
Well your problem now is that it's named patch 2.0. So you'll just get an army of luddites screaming "we're supposed to crowdfund a patch?!?!?"
Overall though, that's a huge list. Well done guys good show.
Just wondering about this one.

16 races = 10 Other results + 6 podiums
2 first places are podium places...
So you get 2 first places + 4 other podium places = 6 podium places
Im completely speechless. What a patch this is! Thanks to all involved :love-struck:
PS4
* Added support for the use of all active controllers for menu input. You can for example now use a steering wheel to race, and a gamepad to control the menus and photo mode.

Will this be possible only in menus or in race also in the PS4.
Great patch BTW

Sometimes developers find bigger issues while building the next number in the sequence and so move this onto the next number, probably just so happens that they reached 2.0 instead of 1.5 as was speculated on the forum either that or they deemed the fixes/enhancements in this build to be a major revision rather than a minor.
That's fantastic, I'm really looking forward to the AI changes regarding tyres/weather, pitting and quali fuel. I think we'll certainly be getting there with these tweaks, can't wait.
One thing, will the support for a usb keyboard allow us to step up the AI difficulty in units rather than 10's? That's something that's really hampering us PS4 controller uses at the moment

Your two victories are podium places, and as such they are included in the 6 podiums (4 finishes of 2nd or 3rd, and 2 victories) - so you have run 16 races. :)

Hi, I mostly play online and I encounter these bugs on a regular basis. I'm not sure if they have been reported yet so sorry in advance.
1 - join a lobby and am unable to click drive or edit setup. Nothing you can do apart from leaving the lobby
2 - game hangs on loading track screen. Have to kill the process in task manager
3 - join a race and am unable to select any driving view other than bumper cam.
I am loving the game and I hope these bugs can be fixed in the next patch as they happen often
Any chance we'll see requested things like animated pit crews or the ability to see/share custom paint schemes etc in a (soon) patch?
And the claims of pCARS 1 support ending are knocked out of the park ala Babe Ruth :)
Well I hope the nay Sayers are happy with what 40 people can do.
I look forward to seeing plenty of links to tx in reply to the usual 'SMS have released a broken game and have done nothing since launch because they are now working on pcars 2 and want to burgle my house'
Excellent stuff! Thanks for the awesome support on this game.
I can`t seem to find the solution for one issue though:
Maybe i missed it, but at my ps4 i still cant hear the race engineer saying stuff in career mode. When i do a single weekend outside of the career it seems to work fine.

Thanks, that's encouraging, but can a dev please confirm definitively please? Yep, it's a big deal.
"Definitive" and "software development" should never be used in the same sentence. They shouldn't be in the same room, they shouldn't even be in the same country.
It should work. That's not a promise it will work flawlessly for everyone but it should work for the majority of everyone.
Great patch, are yellow flags in solo mode being looked at on the ps4? l haven't seen one since I got the game on release day.

PS4 is running very solidly now. There will though be more work done on the hardest hitting areas on the remaining tracks which will help a lot.

Thanks for the Information regarding the next patch, sounds good in general.
but do you have any information if it´s planned to implement the following on the PS4 Version:
- Friendlist filter for the Leaderboards
- separate Leaderboards for all cars like the PC Version
many thanks !

Is that iin references to trsck list notes for example brands hatch which I know drops frames at turn 2, as I see iin the notes you mentioned , well not you but the notes about brands hatch.
Agreed, ps4 is good performance wise but I also agree that if more can be achieved then big thumbs up .
It's a big patch list though.. One of the biggest I've seen post title release.. Your team must be working their socks off.... Hope you provide free tea and coffee in the studio offices : -)
Pitting, tuning, setups
Nothing about the problem for the wrong tyres ? Tyre choice in pit strategy is not the same as the original choice for the car. (ex group 5, catheram ... ) !!! So pit will still useless !
"fixed an issue where wet tyres ..." Really ? try to change for wet tyres on a group 5 with heavy rain , ... car can't be controlled !
Awesome!!
So much for all these naysayers complaining about PCars2 being started and taking away from Pcars 1 development. Keep up the awesome work!!
On a side note, now that the cutting/track limits have been updated, will there be a cleanup of the hotlap/leader boards to remove the entries that now exceed those limits?

But with regards to keyboards: patch notes say

What about Bluetooth keyboards? For the PS4 it makes no difference if the keyboard/mouse is cable or bluetooth. Wonder if pCars accepts exclusively USB keyboards or if is an error in patch description...

Cheers,
That's not how dev works. The very vast majority of developers, on a normal boxed product dev system, start the next game well before the previous game is released.
The furore we've faced is because for the first time, we're showing people how it works completely transparently. I've read some of the comments, even from site moderators at supposedly respected sites and felt the glee of hatred dripping from their posts towards us.
What can I say but if you want to break new ground, there is a well established order to how 'others' behave towards you.
What did take me by surprise was how many of the games playing public seem to think it's madness to start a new game, when you've shipped one...
Great release, still no multiplayer lobby search on XB1. :apologetic:

That's a very understated line IMO. We're 17-18% faster pretty much everywhere with this patch.
* Fixed an issue where flat tyres were fitted to the car during a pit stop, by ensuring that the tyres are correctly inflated.
This is good, but will the issue where tires start overheating straight after leaving the pits also be addressed? As far as I know that is a different issue to this one, but no less annoying as grip obviously gets reduced pretty quickly as well.

Is this the only issue with McLaren F1? With patch 1.4 it became undrivable, at least for me. Everytime I hit the gas pedal I lose control, even in 3rd gear it's hard to keep it straight.

thats bc since 1.4 it defaults to what are sms's interpretation of more realistic period tires. the mclaren f1 tires are apparently not the kind the car wouldve been fitted with at launch, but an sms tire designed to make it more accessible...i think doug is the tire guy, not sure, but he would know the details.
basically it was a great idea (giving us another, esp more realistic tire option) just implemented badly when they made it default for everyone as most ppl arent masochists to that degree :D

And while I know you can't make everyone happy, I am curious about the XBOX One multiplayer fixes. The community has shown ample evidence that much of the stability issues seem to be closely coupled to game chat. After this patch, can we expect game chat to work with multiplayer as intended or will this be an area that requires further effort and time?

i use cockpit exclusive, but i agree w/ this, dont see how using a bumper cam is 'cheating' any more (actually less) than running triple screens for example. plus itd be a nice excuse to have as to why im losing :)
But the option is there to do so. Are you telling me that I am a worse driver because of the view that I choose?
Because pros don't drive with their chin resting on the bumper.
no, they drive with an incredible view above the bumper, and they can move their heads. they have it much, much better.

I agree pro mode should be what it is in real life for a driver, he drives from inside the car, if the car has ABS and TC, sequential gears thats what he uses, if it doesn't he doesn't use it.
You can go into any level of race and use any view and turn off all your aids if thats what you want, but you cant say i dont want race with guys that use aids when i am using non, because its the same as you joining a pro lobby where everyone is using cockpit and your not, in fact any camera view exept cockpit is an aid because it makes it easier.
You also cant use the "the racing is better argument" as there are as many non driving idiots regardless of race you join.

2 - game hangs on loading track screen. Have to kill the process in task manager

These you mention are the most irritating bugs in the game for me, i'm very dissapointed if this will not fixed in the upcoming patch.
I think you could add not getting a Join button in the lobby also as a bug. These issues have really turned me away from this game. Was fully expecting at least one of them to be addressed in this patch, but none are. Very disappointing.

Good news to see they are still bringing out patches, and yep its good to see what 40 ppl can do, now imagine what they could do if they all worked on it.
For me lobby chat is the biggest thing that needs fixing right now, then if possible they need to change the replays, we need to be able to move from car to car for incident review in races.
then the other bits will just be a bonus as that's what the community is really waiting for.

You think the car modeler can fix the online chat issue? Stop pushing this fallacy agenda, have you ever run a gaming software company? Stick to playing the game and reporting bugs, SMS are in a better position to decide who works on what and when than any of us.
What did take me by surprise was how many of the games playing public seem to think it's madness to start a new game, when you've shipped one...
I think this is because a lot of gamers (including me) were not aware of how this works. You guys are transparent about it. Most game developers i know are not as transparent and announce a game when there`s something to show (screens, trailers, etc etc.)
I didn`t know it`s normal to start production on a new game when the first one isn`t even out or has just shipped. When i think about it, it makes sense to start developing right away, it`s just that i didn`t know :)
You`re doing a excellent job explaining this to the community and i don`t know how people can still be ***holes about it after reading the explanations.

You've had 2 fairly significant patches in the first month and half of the games release and third somewhat in the process and in the not too distant future. As far as I know, thats a hell of a lot quicker than any other AAA studio as they usually like to all disappear on holiday or take the money, ditch the game and make a new one without even doing patches.
Reading your previous post, those aren't bugs, those are game design improvements/ suggestions that yes, would improve the game, but compared to actual bug fixing is very low on the priority list. 40 people is already massive compared to the size of teams that other developers would have left behind on a game for bug fixing and DLC. Things will be fixed in time.

It's great to see such a big list of changes and fixes, but what about a Force Feedback, that got broken after a 1.4 patch (if you reset the wheel settings)? I mean, it's impossible now to turn the Tire Force above 10 without rattling and clipping, and overall, the FFB is just much worse on about 10 Tire Force than before with 100 Tire Force. what does that mean
People recently accused SMS of abandoning project cars 1.0 since (some) work has begin on 2.0 (which a perfectly natural industry practice though probably not well-known or well-understand by people/gamers outsise the gaming industry). The long list of patch2.0 items for project cars 1.0 is proof those claims are false, SMS is very serious about supporting project cars 1.0

There is a huge thread about that problem: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?30820-Patch-1-4-FFB-reports/page5
It would be great to know what caused the FFB/TF error in 1.4 , and that it is confirmed fixed in 2.0 !
Oh yeah :) cool
It is good to see you working hard :)

So, in searching the thread to see if Center Spring on PS4 has been addressed, I find someone claiming that it is, but I can't find any confirmation. It's not one of the points in the list, so I'm still curious if it's been fixed. Perhaps it's in the notes under a different description?

* Multiplayer search filter 'Skill' now finds games based upon certain lobby game configuration criteria. For example, “Pro” setting now searches for Full Damage, Auto-start Engine, Forced Cockpit, Mechanical Failure, and so forth.
There seems to be some confusion about this point, so let me clarify - When you now search for a Pro lobby, it will search for lobbies that have Full Damage OR Auto-start Engine OR Forced Cockpit and so forth enabled. In other words, any lobby that specifically requires a pro mode feature. It doesn't require ALL of them, and you won't be forced to use ALL features tagged as Pro in order to qualify as a Pro lobby. I hope that helps to clarify.

I'll 2nd the motion. The patch notes are great but I don't think I have ever seen a definitive answer from the team as to how the myriad of leaderboard times set by extravagant corner cutting techniques are going to be deleted / weeded out / exterminated following the adjustment of track limits in patch 2.0?
Is it as simple as getting a *few* of the 40 PC1 staff to troll through the boards and kill the obvious BS times (I would hate for those damn nyah-nyah times to be set in concrete forever!) or WILL it require a full reset? Would love something definitive on this guys...

bankrupt, hardly, lol, if you al lworked on it the patches would be finished quicker then you could all move on to pcars 2 and everyone that is moaning about bugs would have nothing to moan about as they would be playing the game, lol
That is a very naive statement, there will always be bugs and anyone that believes that can address them all in a limited time without creating new ones or someone finding something else has never had to manage / run a department or company being responsible for profit. Lets not forget, SMS is a business, they just happen to make their money doing something we all really enjoy playing, but it is still a business. If you think about it, the more success and money they get then, providing the utilise this in the right way, the better future projects will be.
I say keep the 40 strong team on PCars 1 and let the others concentrate on PCars 2, the bar has been set, there is no time to sit around and admire your creation, the competition wont be, they will be hard at it trying to emulate them. I for one and glad they are being realistic, bring it on.

Huzzah!... some great bug fixes there!
We ran into the issue of 'not being able to do everything instantly' Chris.
You've missed the part on lobby stabilization though but don't let that stop you.
Pretty sure I was not inflammatory or trolling with my post, yet I still get a smart ass reply from you. Don't get me wrong, I like a bit of banter and quite appreciate your sense of humor but that has to work both ways. I tend to find if we use this form of banter and catch you on a bad day you get on your high horse and go all nuclear. Let's leave that be though...
Perhaps I'm a little dense but I still don't see where it says that the multiplayer lobbies will be more stable on ps4.
I understand there is a limit to the amount of work one team can do. What is frustrating is some major flaws going unaddressed. Friends are becoming less and less keen to engage in longer organized races cos of this instability. Crashing and getting booted is frustrating as hell when it occurs so frequently and especially frustrating when you are keen for some good, longer racing sessions which takes up a lot of time and effort. We're not too keen on the jumping in and out of lobbies to have a quick race. We want the game to operate as a legitimate sim which means stability and an element of trust that what you set up for the race will happen. And what you don't want is invisible land mines, crashes, random driverthru penalties and a car setup completly different to what you've set in quali.
Sometimes we can spend a massive amount of time in practice and testing to get the right setup only for it not to be saved or not be loaded as it's supposed to.
My kids won't play the game and some of the newbs won't play anymore cos they use steering assist and the car automatically heading into the pits as you drive past is driving them nuts. It ruins the experience completely.
Yesterday evening, we set up 3 lobbies in an attempt to get it stable. All 3 times there were multiple occasions where different members were booted frequently. Jason copped a stop-go penalty on the start line for no reason at all. Aus-05 hit an invisible stationary car on the main straight of brands hatch, nickos was getting dragged into the pits for the last couple of laps. We gave up trying after about 40 minutes. It was a clusterf@ck of bugs and errors and the most striking thing was that in chat when these things occurred, no one was surprised and everyone said "yeah that's happened to me, it's a common bug". So the narrative of this game has become "lots of bugs...just deal with it". It's a marriag ive that's becoming increasingly prevalent in reviews and independent commentary. I'm sure this isn't what you guys had in mind when you were developing the game....was it ?
I'm not one of the tinfoil hat brigade that comes up with consipracy theories that you guys are abandoning pcars1 and also have no issue with SMS starting the cycle of developing pcRs2. What I am is someone who wants the game to be successful so can't quite get why these major flaws aren't the top of the priority list as they are such significant contributing factors to the whole experience. Basically what this is saying to me is that the aforementioned bugs will still be around for at least the next 2 months until 2.1 is released.
I've written this without frustration and in a respectful way. I don't want to start a flaming war and wanted to send this in PM but you don't have PM's. While I can't control the sycophants reaction to me writing this, I'll leave it in your hands on how you take this post or respond to it...if at all.

@ChrisK, everything is documented (see link in my sig) or known back at the WMD forum. Ian's coders are working hard to make it "perfect" or at least stable.
Some of these are difficult to reproduce internally and therefore tougher to solve. Nothing is "going unaddressed" simply because it hasn't been fixed yet, effort is being made but perhaps we cannot see it since the final solution is not yet ready and published in the notes.
People will view the game how they want. Some hate it. Some love it. It's important for SMS to forget the emotions and just solve the issues (see patch 2.0 notes in my sig).

Is this the only issue with McLaren F1? With patch 1.4 it became undrivable, at least for me. Everytime I hit the gas pedal I lose control, even in 3rd gear it's hard to keep it straight.
Cheers
Make sure you are running the mclaren f1 tires not the hard run flats
Perhaps I'm a little dense but I still don't see where it says that the multiplayer lobbies will be more stable on ps4.
I just checked my Driver Profile on PS4, I have 269 races online. If remember being disconnected like 5 times. If this not stable enough for you...

What about this issue is not being addressed? What if the issue is more complicated and requires more time than the bugs that were posted here just now? Who says no one is working on it? Instead of trying to bash SMS every time they do something, why not try to give them more info and be part of the solution instead? You're wasting your time arguing with Ian, plain and and simple and it's annoying.
Still no ability to have more than 1 custom livery for each car?
