For a long time I was under the same impression tennenbaum, that is can't be how hyper cars drive and they feel too mushy. With the latest Jack files, which it tightened up my wheel, I feel it is a lot more believable now. I also drive with no assists (just a fetish and I like the challenge), I am a little faster with assists, but I feel like I will improve more if I can drive without them. If you did anything close to stupid in a 500+ in a track like flooring it out of a slow corner, you can be damn sure it would flip its rear around. It's a hard to go back to such car behaviour after driving GT3 GT2 and LMP cars, but I guess the gap is "that" big. You just don't realise how behind those cars are in the handling department because you are used to seeing them in controlled environment tests and in track tests where they are pushed just a little by reviewers. Those are my thoughts on hyper and road cars in games. You think you can push them a lot because of their reputation and prestige, but it's just not possible without assists if you are not cautious.
As an FXX and Pagani Zonda R owner, I think the FXX is really well made and it does indeed understeer since you are tricked into overdriving it. The Zonda R however is a little too tail happy, mine is more tame!

So how does the zonda compare in each game as they feel quite different is one closer to the real thing?
Maybe my joke didn't go through so well.
(tip: I am not an owner of those cars!) Or maybe your joke back at me is too subtle for my senses!?

I thought tennenbaum was joking then thought oh maybe he wasn't so i completely fell for that & even thought why on earth is he bothering with sims & at least should be using Fanatec.
Damn actually thought at last we might get some real life comparison.
If I could afford any of those cars, I'd have a full motion simulator with the best equipment :)
yes, the FFX K drives like a blob. same as the Pagani Hyuaran. strange i often have the feeling especially in the supe hyper cars, that i'm wrapped in foam. i see the top speed but dont feel it. i sit in a merc 190 evo, and the thing feels alive, dynamic and throttle and engine feels connected. i hope for the sake of their owners these supersportscars don't feel so dull in reality... but surprisingly, not a low tec car either the ferrari 458 italia gt2 is bliss: agile, good sense of speed, and the right weight. if i remember right, many of the exotic supercars felt strange to me also in Pcars. i assume devs seldomly have a chance to drive them, so they just paste and copy physics code from what is supposed to be a super car. but im just bubbling, first i should drive an koenigseck or an pagani and then do fresh assumptions. which leads to a question that i still wonder about, is it possible that Pcars phsics is right when giving you such a hard time to control oversteer, with such extreme powered cars (when you switch of traction and stability systems). i start to think, the physics may be realistic, but while you can react quicker with your seat of pants in a real car, you simple can't react quick enough in a video game where you can only react to what you see on screen. my gut feeling tells me though that the connection between throttle input and torque output in PCars lacks a bit in terms of not feeling really 'connected'. in a real car you can feel if the engine is 'loaded' under your foot on the throttle (then you only tip it) or the engine must build up torque first (then you floor the pedal). and that's what i'm missing in PCars, and what i believe to feel at least a little bit in AC. however, i'm happy about any feedback and opinions - especially from the Pagani, FXX and koenigseck drivers...
I drove a Ferrari F430 on a closed track (https://www.google.ca/maps/@46.6324436,-71.7893374,488m/data=!3m1!1e3), with a professional co-driver, 3-4 years ago.
I found a video of the track with the car (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyg0bzdF-Z0), it's not mine. Green cones are acceleration points and oranges cones a braking points.
After discussing with the co-pilot, i did 1 lap to spot check the track. I did the next 4 the fastest i could. The co-pilot was AWESOME. I never drove anything like that car in my life, not even close(years of 13hp karting helped with track reading (https://www.google.ca/maps/@46.6305045,-72.698448,355m/data=!3m1!1e3), closed now :( ). I was able to push it to the max. The co-pilot was making me accelerate before the green cones and making me late break after the orange cones.
Let me get this straight: Super cars are super cars. They are "/$%ing rockets. Someone cannot fathom how awesome they are until you've driven one on a track. It's a lifetime experience! Those things have immense braking power. The sound of acceleration, it's just awesome. In the banked curve, after the longtest straigt, the co-pilot was saying to me to open, open, open way before i could think it was possible.
When i got out of the car, i was shaking, i couldn't talk and i was about to cry in joy! It feels like doing sky diving. But instead of lasting 45 seconds, it last as long as you drive! :D
If a regular F430 race that good on a track, GT3 cars must be godly!
Everyone here ought to themselves to try it 1 day! :D
I don't mind the FXX K its better to drive than the enzo anyway imo but yeah not really fun. The 488 GTB is the one i really don't get on with in that pack it just has loads of under-steer, even with TC off can't imagine its anything like that irl, i much prefer the 458 handling, the s3 version is just as fast.

I haven't tried the Enzo yet, but I don't 'doubt you. That's the thing. In the FXX, I have no sense of speed. But when I look at the speedometer as I'm approaching the corner, I realize I'm braking from 280+. In an F1 car, or some other high DF class, that's not a problem. But in that thing, you can't kick the brakes so hard. So you've got to leave a lot of room. That would be fine, if the sense of speed was there. But it's just not in that car.
Long weekend ahead. I'm going to try and run through the entire garage, so I can figure out which ones I like and which I don't. I might even remove the ones I don't like, unless they can be used as opponents on the grid.

I find it funny when people complain a car is so loose with 500 plus hp in these games . Of course its loose when you floor it out of a corner. I don't know why but once you cross that 500hp mark things becomes drastically different. Things happen much faster then at a 400hp level for some reason. People don't realize you can spin the tires easily at 60 plus mph in a lot of these high hp cars in real life and is modeled pretty well in these games. So id have to guess your statement about pushing them is right on the money.
I just bought the little NSU TT on R3E for 55c ,lol . It's awesome with a H pattern around Nords with Ai set to 110 , start at the back and set 15mins and have a crack .
Finished 7th out of 22 , but man was it hard .This little p.o.s. cranks , tops out at 181km/h . Mad .
Grimey , that steam -clearcloud didn't do sht for me . Oh well just means i have to play R3E instead . Spewing .lol and i haven't really looked at online racing yet . Still trying to get to 120% in R3E .
Haiden , i haven't played iRacing Yet , maybe after i finish with R3E , AMS , AC , BeamNG and who knows what's next . The pricing bothers me in iRacing but i might get a year sub down the track .
After getting the graphics (maxed in 4K vsynced @60) and FFb sorted in R3E then going to have a go at AC , AC looks and feels boring ? just wish there was smoke in mirrors in R3E . That's my only gripe . I don't even think they will add a option for GPU's powerful enough to run max visuals . Surely even @ 1080p older cards where powerful enough to have smoke and high reflections in mirrors .

Just my 2 cents here but I'm guessing pcars is probably the closest but a touch too difficult because the tire model isn't quite right yet. Even pro race drivers cant always catch an oversteer situation and it happens in pretty much every series. Yes we are missing some of the inputs we would have in real life but a lot of the input is in the steering wheel. You can feel it in the wheel just like real life the steering wheel gives hints it coming.Thats one of the reasons I don't like a heavy wheel because it covers up those feelings with weight. You wont get the subtle jerks telling you the rear is on edge already and if you push harder its going to step out. But I do think the tire model is a little too unforgiving when it does.

To the console guys did you see that the difficulty level on pc at 80 is lower then the minimum on console. Explains the difference between us. I think our lowest setting is 85 or 88 and is like a 17 second difference in lap times on the track the guy tested. So I don't feel so bad now if I'm running medium.lol

aaaah! gooood! wroom wroom! i drove once a couple of laps nordschleife in a race nissan on the co pilots seat. hell, i was sweating... then i did four rounds by myself in an stock audi 8... 2 tons... 320 hp, car was rental... not insured because you,re not allowed to take the car to the tracks... i sweated even more... ;-) btw after just 4 rounds (80 kms) brakes were toast. sat on the copilots seat on 520 hp porsche sportscup race qualifying on the red bull ring in austria for many rounds, which is incredible loud, hot and exhausting, drive race kart from time to time, and Porsche in the hey days of the late ninties, BUT i never drove such a super car, nor did i have the chance to pilot an openwheeler... which seriously regret, because i simply don't how that feels different from what i know. what i do know is that when the kart (34hp) brakes loose, it goes this quick, i couldnt be fast enough to catch it in the game, however i found drifting at lower speeds never difficult in reality, though never dared that a higher speeds... :-) so the question remains, do the super cars feel so mushy in real life too (compared to cars that are built for the track? i'm attemped to think yes, probably... the airconditioning, the radio... :-). but seriously, i would understand when they feel not agile (in the game) when you have the assists on, but i drivecthem without and they feel still heavy. it is probaby simpy their havy weight, compared to track cars, that makes the difference... there fast but heavy... (and their sound is too muffled in the games, that for sure. so guys lets win the lotto and we meet on a real track next time :-)
sorry for misspellings, i typed it on my cell phone.

I didn't experience as many cars as you just described, but for the F430, it's a resounding no! :D
Even with assists(shifted automaticaly, around 8k RPM :D(could downshift myself in curves), abs on surely) it felt everything else than mushy.

i'm fully with you. it's just this tick of fragment of a moment in PCars that the car gets lost. while In AC you lift the throttle a bit, and there is better chance you catch the car. it doesn't mean you can't drift nicely with PCars, it's just that you can't steer the rear this good with the throttle. i really wished the devs could straighten this out with PCars 1, not only with PCars 2.

Same - I have the graphics sorted, I just hadn't really messed with the FFB. Started yesterday, and was surprised at how much it could be improved, because I wasn't really unhappy with the near defaults I was using before. I admit, AC has started to get a little, IDK... Meh. For me, it's not the FFB or the physics. It's the lack of content. If you just want to drive a car around in practice or hotlapping TT, it's fine. But when it comes to setting up a decent race, your options are limited, because they don't have enough evenly matched cars. And when you find a class that does, or ever if you decide to just fill the grid with the same car, there usually aren't enough liveries available to support a 24 car grid. The livery thing is kind of stupid, because that's totally in their control. Licensing affects the ability to provide enough evenly matched cars, but there's excuse for the lack of liveries.
It looks like I'm going to be playing PCars and R3E for race cars. I'll play AC mostly for supercars, and the Ferrari F2002 mod (until an update knocks it out...LOL). The F1 style cars that come with AC are okay, but far from great. But the car models in F2002 mod are incredible, and they have the liveries for the entire season. I just wish there were more seasons available. :)

It wasn't me in the video. I didn't record anything, sadly. I just found a video of a random guy. In the video, when the guy engaged in the straight, you can see his shift it him self. If i'm not mistaken, he could've reved it higher.
I didn't needed to shift because it was hitting the cut off! :D

I don't rate the F2002 mod at all the FFB is really poor I just can't feel whats happening with the car. The ASR mods are much better imo. http://www.asrformula.com/

The F2002 feel fine to me, a little hard to handle, after driving something else. But once I get used to the sensitivity, it's fine. Could be a difference in FFB. Or it could just be personal preference. :)
But I do keep my Master Gain at 100%, and then adjust FFB strength, using the in-car FFB tuner. Lowering the Master Gain just increased the deadzone, like it did with PCars. Unless I raised minimum force level to compensate, I felt like I was losing the subtle feel in the lower range.
I'll give the ASRs a try, though.
I normally don't touch the in car FFb as i would rather set it to what the developer intended. I thought both gains did the same thing tbh, if you have the master at 80% & in car at 100% the same as master at 100% in car at %80?

Essentially, yes

Not really sure to be honest, but when I lowered the Master, I felt like the deadzone increased. Don't feel that when I lower the in-car scale. Either way, though, I like using the tuning app in-car, because it allows you to fine tune the FFB, and set each car to a level that gives you the maximum force while staying below the clipping threshold. If they are the same, then it doesn't matter which one one you use, but since the in-car scale is the one for fine tuning, I'd just rather set the Master to full and adjust that one.

:D so your good looks will still be unrecognized :D

BOO!!!!!
I don't rate the F2002 mod at all the FFB is really poor I just can't feel whats happening with the car. The ASR mods are much better imo. http://www.asrformula.com/
I tried a couple, and these are great. The FFB does have better range, but the sound and car detail play a big part, too. I wish they had more liveries, though. But I guess I can always fill the grid with F2002 cars. :)
Thanks for the link!

Just wanna chime in !
It's been a while since I've chimed in to the church of Force Feedbackism !
I have sinned and become totally confused and overwhelmed with Force Feedback !
On the PS4 with Project Cars the Formula A a car I've hardly driven in the game with a totally different feel experience, trying also, to get basic Force Feedback wheel setups with Assetto Corsa, F1 2016 and Dirt Rally !
So my head is spinning !
T300 Servo Base has a bit more friction and you can feel the belt and teeth a bit I guess cause it's relatively new but, older T300 RS is like totally frictionless which I kinda like cause I can tweak it real tender with a lot of detail and information in Project Cars.
Sweeter than mudda fuggin bear meat !
If you guys know any tips and suggestions for Force Feedback of those other games for a T300 please let me know !
Help your fellow Force Feedbackist !
Love You Guys Here !
God Bless !
i'm fully with you. it's just this tick of fragment of a moment in PCars that the car gets lost. while In AC you lift the throttle a bit, and there is better chance you catch the car. it doesn't mean you can't drift nicely with PCars, it's just that you can't steer the rear this good with the throttle. i really wished the devs could straighten this out with PCars 1, not only with PCars 2.
Throwing that one was awesome! :D Road cars rocks! Have a took at the driver's hands.

I'm not sure i can dig up the telemetry.

I forgot to mention still using Jack Spade Tweaker Folder 2 Fy+SopLateral with Steering Gain at 1.00.
I've found with the Formula A car using Steering Gain above 1.00 at 1.45 makes T300 Servo Base heat up too much fast and quickly !
That Formula A car sure is something different for me to drive in Project Cars still in season 5 with Green Hell Madness next to deal with in career mode.
How many seasons is it to complete a career in Project Cars ?
Have you got that link for the F2002 mod? So I can get the right one because while my version is already broken I might aswell add some mods again.
Yeah GDog i deleted it and removed all mods and deleted them aswell then reinstalled the game from Steam and same crap.
It was stuffed up the first time I played it after coming back from holidays and it had updated itself.
I might just add this mod thst Haiden recommends and leave it until Kunos fix it.
I've got abit more money to throw at R3E today. I wonder what I should get this Time. Probably more cars as I've only got to get 4 more tracks. I wish for road cars.

Here's the F2002 link, but if you don't mind donating a few bucks, you should try the ASR mods, Rosko recommended, as well. I've been driving those all afternoon. Very nice.

HDMI is limited to 4K @60p no matter how you configure it .It isn't a TV limitation It can't physically push more than 60fps that's why you need to use Display ports are for .
Has anyone else got glitchy UI in AC after 1.8.1 ? Every icon in the menu is all glitchy and you can't read it after you click it .
That video glitch is strange. I never had any problems after the update. Did you find other online having the same issue? I did a quick search and didn't see anything related to the new update. You might want to check your graphic settings, especially if you've set any application specific settings in the GPU. The only time the buttons in AC have been messed up for me, was when I was tinkering with settings. IIRC, mostly with the resolution. They usually cleared up after I restarted the game, though. Not sure what's happening on your end.
Also, if you're playing on large screen at 4K, windows will think it's doing you a favor by rescaling the desktop applications. Mine was rescaling the display to 300%. I turned it down to 150%. And, know that I think about, I haven't seen the button glitch thing since. Technically, Windows scaling usually doesn't affect the in-game rendering, because I think the game and GPU takes over. But the menus can be a different story. Try adjusting the scaling settings. Just right-click on the desktop and go to Display Properties.
Guys on pc is there any place to find the fastest lap times for ac? Id be interested to know what they are. On easy yes I had to turn it down to easy for one of the career races. Even at that three of the cars where 6-10 seconds faster then the rest of the pack and me. My times where right in line with the rest of the pack.

Funny. I was just tossing my hands up at this last night. I was trying to figure out which cars were close in terms of pace, so I could set up a good mixed race. Couldn't find anything. The only thing I saw was the leaderboard overlay app, but that only shows your time and the 5 or six cars closest to you. There's another overlay called Real Time, but it too only gives you a small segment of the grid. The only place that I've seen the entire grid displayed is at the end of the session. That just seems so stupid. I don't see how that could have been overlooked. I feel like it's there somewhere, but I'm just missing it.
Now that I saw that. I'm going to check the button mapping page in the options. There might be a control for it there.
Haiden thanks for pointing out the downshifting. You definitely cant downshift in ac like you can in any other game. Which is good as its more realistic but hard to untrain yourself at first. I didn't catch that at first and kept unsettling the car when braking. I got a bunch of time in yesterday and have to say its really good in its own right. The sound when getting off the gas in some of these cars is awesome. The ffb is really good. Its funny it doesn't feel that different from pcars. It is different but it still has a familiar feel that makes sense.

I'm more wondering to see if its even possible to go as fast as the times the ai was turning. 6-10 seconds is a huge gap and I just don't see how I could possibly gain that much time. Even with tuning I don't think its possible. It would be nice to have a hot lap leader board like pcars has.

Yep. If you're only playing PCars, it's hard to notice. It's possible to run down them too fast in PCars, but you have to really push it. After a year of not being punished for it, bad habits set in. :) I saw a video on YouTube a long time ago where the guy was pointing out the issue with downshifting in PCars. After watching that, I started slowing down. The funny thing is, PCars doesn't seem to punish you with full tire slip for dropping too fast, but it does seem to reward you with better braking and cornering traction if you run down the gears correctly. Strange.

I've noticed a difference in classes. Some classes I'm at the top of the board with a two second gap at 85 difficulty. Others, I'm struggling to stay mid grid at that level.

totally agree with the last sentence. I do the same times on both games (same track same car) after some car tweak, with the same driving pleasure in both games. I'm now running something like 36 - 20 - 40 - 20 - ON. And you ?

In career you have races with cars that aren't the same on purpose. Like the one I'm talking has less power but is supposed to handle better so it can make up the difference. I'm thinking its just to big of a gap to make up with better handling because the same cars in the race I'm usually near the top if not the top lap time but none of them are near the fastest different car.

I actually found I like it much lower with the ffb settings a little higher. Its a little light weight wise but the details seem to come through better for me. But like always its a compromise especially when you only have one thing for the wheel weight. I just found you get a lot more subtle detail even lower then tennebaums settings. What was just heavy cornering weight will actually show subtle slip detail at lower settings and the same goes for the rear stepping out. I haven't run any assists yet. I did try and like usual I didn't like it. I think I'm a 23 for the master now.

I think a mixed class grid in AC better mimics how you'd have to drive and deal with opponents in a RL race, because it kind of simulates the different individual skills sets and car capabilities. When approach a car, you can't just ride his rear, until you spend a little time behind him to see how which lines and braking points he's taking. The grid might look a little strange with the varying cars, but it can make for a good race if you get the mix of cars right.
Not sure if it's on console, but on PC there's a favorite section, which saves your most played session settings. So if you create a custom grid with just the right car mix, you don't have to keep setting it up. :)

The driving isn't really any different but the downshifting definitely is. I cant answer that one I don't downshift that fast normally.lol Just faster than you can get away with in ac.

In a heartbeat, but you'd have to screw up bad, like dropping from 6th to 2nd to cause it to blow that quick. You can damage the engine by just missing your clutch timing or making a bad gear change. Obviously, how much damage depends on the severity of the mistake. A little grind won't hurt much, but do it a couple times and you'll see your top speed drop a bit due to the damage. If you're playing with the shifter and auto-clutch off, you're bound to see the engine blink red at least a few times in the damage overlay.

The mixed car class is fine but its a single make race in career with different cars and you have to beat the faster one with a car that has less hp and supposed better handling to make up the hp difference. It just seems the 6-10 second gap in lap times isn't possible to overcome is what I'm getting at. Maybe if I start cutting corners but I try to stay on the track. I know guys call it using the whole track but even in real life I think it should be stopped and if that's what you have to do to be fast in ac thats going to make it really hard for people coming into this game. No we don't have anything to show us anything with the ffb its all by feel.

Damage overlay? I don't think we have that either.

FFB Clip is an overlay app that you use in-session while you're driving. It analyzes your clipping spikes, and then, after a few minutes of driving, gives you a recommended setting for the in-car FFB gain that maximizes force levels without clipping. For most cars, it usually recommends settings that I think are actually too heavy for my tastes, but I still run it every time I start a new car/track combo. Some of the high DF cars need a lot lower FF Gain than the others, so it's nice to see the clipping and the auto-tuner's recommended level.
The damage overlay looks like a topographic layout of the car. When you incur damage, it shows for a few seconds with the affect area flashing red. When the red stops flashing, the area will show white if there's no permanent damage, or varying degrees of yellow for mild damage, and red for serious damage. I guess I could see them not included the FFB clip, because it's more of an plug-in. But I'm surprised they dropped the damage overlay. Is there something else that tells/shows you the current damage on the car?

I don't think so. I really miss the temps and stuff in pcars huds. It really limited in ac.
There are apps for telemetry, but I don't use any. The record times app you were asking about is called RSRLiveTime. I haven't updated it for the latest version, but I m sure they have it working by now.

After a over Full year of playing Pcars I'm finally Finding the Joy of driving the slower class cars!!! i find that i actually can get much better lap times with them if i use the Shifter H patter or sequential... using the shifter really makes you prepare to gear down much earlier than you do paddle shifting... for me this results in a much faster line through the corner.. slow in fast out.... aslo it just adds sooo much more immersion that it really adds extra enjoyment to the total sim racing experience.
Assetto Corsa is just the type of game when you play it you can feel that you can get away with the last sec gear slam downs... its just something about the way AC handles that lets you know this right away.
Pcars, AC, R3E, Race Pro with all the packs<--- Dont sleep!!! dont fool your self to think that Race Pro is a Older game not worthy of getting!!! race Pro feels dam good and can hold its weight against the new sims!!! remember the same people that made R3E made Race Pro... its a great game and for what it cost now its worth buying... it has some good tracks also i Love Macau in the touring cars!!!

That's so strange. There's an overlay for tire temps, which looks similar to the PCars tire window--four tires, blue=cold, green=warm, and a little meter next to each, showing wear. The temps even show inner, middle, outer and core temps separately.

I don't think the telemetry apps work on console yet, without a PC. The ones I've seen requires a communicator app running on PC, even DashMeter Pro, which works standalone for PCars.
DashMeter might come out with a console version, after AC gets a few of their initial updates out.
Edit: Konnos - I just looked up LiveTime, but that looks like the overlay plugin that's already in AC. That doesn't show the whole grid, just you and like 5 or six other cars. Is that the one you're talking about, or is there a version that shows the times for all cars in the race?

Totally agree. When I got my shifter, it changed the way I drive, just you like you said. It makes you think about what you're doing more. In fact, one think I started doing that I wasn't doing before is braking first, then after I'm stable, worry about downshifting. It's only a split second of time between the two actions, but before I had my shifter, I think I was trying to brake and start the downshift at the same time. The habits I picked up from the shifter, carry over to paddles, too. Make a more stable turn in, at least it did for me.

Oh my bad, I thought you were looking to do these on PC. Also I thought you wanted an app to show you the best times for the car and track you are driving, that's what RSRLiveTime is for, to compare on the fly your laps compared to other people, I don't think it is for the particular race though.

That makes sense. I never really looked at it, because it didn't have all the laps. I just assumed it was something like the Leaderboard app. Can't believe Kunnos overlooked the need for a full leaderboard in session.

I can already confirm that the CSW will not be compatible with PS4 on any new games. This is part of the Agreement with Sony and enables us to get a license for PS4. There will probably be a dedicated CSL Elite base for PS4 but I cannot confirm anything until the contracts are signed.
If you search Google for even a portion of that quote above, it takes you right to the blog post. But when you search the phrase in the screenshot, you get nothing.
Good notice about FOV and the sense of speed. Also what BigDad says about changing gears is very interesting. Since "racetime" and the car's speed must be the same i wonder how PCars achieves to be visually a bit faster. You can also see such difference between the PCars Monaco track and the same track in F1 2015. http://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Project-CARS-vs-F1-2015-Monaco-comparison
In the video it looks as if PCars expands the geometry of the 3D space along the z-depth-axis. Then they compensate the „longer than real“ distance by moving closer objects overproportionally faster towards you. This way „reassembling“ the „true“ distance, so the don’t corrupt the „true“ speed. Anyway, PCars seems „faster“ because you have the feeling the cars’s speed is higher, while with F1 2015 you feel „faster“ because you feel tighter „wrapped“ into the environment. Obviously beside changing FOV you can also change the feel of speed by fumbling the space geometry.
In PCars i use to drive with the camera on the bonnet, while in AC i like the height of the bumper camera which is a bit higher than in Pcars. So with the bumper cam in AC i can compensate the speed feeling.
After i did some more test laps on Brands Hatch GP track with the Corvette C7R, which is the same in both games, i think i can say audio is a bit better in Pcars, but it depends also on the Cars. The Ferraris in AC simply sound georgeous.
The AI in AC is good. And tough even on lowest difficulty. I was asking myself how beginners will feel like...? It seems AI of AC keeps the cars closer together, which leads to a nice „density“. On the other hand it happens much more often in AC that they bump into you rear. Stupids.
Sounds, visuals and FFB tactile feeling, and of course replays, it seems all a bit more intense in Pcars. Not mentioning the telemetry, more cars, more tracks, more features, more of everything...
But one little thing in AC really hooks me up: My driving is more intuitive, a tiny little bit more like in a real car. The fact that you can control the oversteer with the throttle better than in Pcars adds a lot to the immersion. Which gives me plenty of fun. I don’t think AC is easier to drive and learn, it just gives you a tad more control „at the edge“.I assume thats why I’m minimally faster in AC.
Hoewever, to everybody who stumbles accross this forum occasionally being in doubt about which game to prefer, or which is the better or the more real driving simulator: don’t puzzle your head over it. It’s about nuances. Both games are great sims, with incredible physic engines.
While i compared both games physics, it just popped to mind: Let go! Don’t compare while you drive! Allow the immersion to kick in.:D (BTW: Grimey, what's your analysis?)
Jack's latest files, coupled with some garage tune make the Mustang boss 302 GT4 awesome in the regards! :D
I wish we had that on console. I checked the lap times for that race I couldn't win or even get in the top 3 last night. I would have been 13th on the leader board with the same car and the car that won was 6 seconds faster then me on easy. lol Theres no way I'm getting that much faster. I'm sure the aliens could do it but that's a whole different level.

Not Getting into Old Debates but interesting Fact... The Game Master FFB on PC will + or - the at the wheel FFB strength on PC!!!... This Makes sensce...Pcars GM FFB appears to work the same as it does with every other game AC, R3E, Race 07, Rfactor to set the at the wheel FFB strength.
it seems that Only PS4 GM FFB has No effect with Fanatec Wheels and it Must be set with the On Wheel FFB setting.

I saw that. I bet he's right. TBH, I was never interested in the new TM wheel. Even if it is DD, I wouldn't buy it. There doesn't seem to be enough ventilation (intakes) to cool the wheel. And the rim is the same size as their current rims, which means if it's a DD wheel, it's using a low end/power motor; Otherwise, it would jerk that rim around so fast it would feel awkward. Also, the knobs on the rim are color code like PS4 buttons, which means there's a good chance they are just redundant buttons. But mostly, the rim size is what turns me off. I'll wait for a Fanatec DD. If that doesn't come, and I still want to go DD, I'll go with an OSW, Bodnar, or Accuforce.

Probably an unintended consequence of backdooring support for Fanatec support for PS4. All of the other platforms are fully compatible.

Try a different track. I was just on Nurburgring GP and was getting killed by the AI. I spent about an hour trying to get a decent quali lap. The best I could do was 10th out of 12. I was like 4+ seconds away from the leader. I thought that was strange. I've been running that track often for the past two weeks and didn't think I was doing that bad. I started a new session, same opponents, same grid, just went to Silverstone. First hot lap, I got P1. Eventually the AI took P1, beating me by almost a second. But P3 was .500 behind me.
I think, like a lot of sims, the AI difficult varies a bit from track to track. Which is why I kind of don't like the minimum difficulty being set at 80. If you get one of those tracks where their pace is quick, you can't really do much about it. I think they should have set the minimum at 60 or 70.
Anyway, jump on another track and see if that makes a difference. Also... make sure the car you're driving doesn't have special tires for qualifying. If it does, you have to select them. Otherwise, that could be why you're pace is slower.

Ive definitely noticed its different from track to track and sometimes car. Most of them so far offer a good challenge but some are just way too unbalanced. Some cars I'm right in line with and some of the cars turn 6-10 seconds faster laptimes in the same race. Hopefully they straighten that out.
Did you try any of those ASR mods? I got the 1991 series cars (Ferrari, Williams, and McLaren), and the 2004 Ferrari. I raced the 1991 Ferrari this weekend and had one of the most intense open wheel races I've ever had in any game. It was pretty awesome. Had to push to qualify 3rd. Dropped to 5th off the start. Fought my way back to 3rd. And then spent a good amount of time defending, because those bastards were serious and not giving up...LOL When I finally got clear of P4, the gap to P2 was a little wide. I had to push for a few laps, just to get within striking distance, and then just couldn't get around that guy. The last 6 laps were intense, because it was taking everything I had to stay with him. And I get close, see a gap, but then he'd close the door.
I know the mods are still in Beta, but they're pretty polished. The only issue I have with them is the tire heating. It's extremely hard to keep heat in the tires, even when you're abusing them. I've even made setup adjustments that should push more heat into the tires (pressure, toe, camber, downforce), with only minimal results. They stay right at the cusp, so it's not like you're driving on cold tires. You have a decent amount of grip. I just think they cool a little too quickly. If you don't have enough high speed corners on the track, it's hard to keep the heat up.
The other thing (which I hesitate to call an issue, because I can't remember the RL '91 season) is, the balance between the cars. The Williams is sooo much faster than the others, which is why I had to push so hard. I was about .500 seconds behind the 2nd place Williams, but the next closest Ferrari in 4th place was like 19 seconds behind me. The McLarens were even further back. I don't remember how the cars stacked up in RL for the 1991 season, but that's such a wide margin, it makes it difficult to have a race with all three cars from the 1991. :( It wouldn't be a big deal if they had more liveries for each car, but then don't. So filling the grid with all one type would just look sillly. :(
Other than that, the mods are awesome. If you've tried any of them, let me know your thoughts.

I have been experimenting with PC Pcars GM FFB... my findings are it works as it does on any other PC Racing title... Simply set GM FFB to a level that feels best for you with your Fanatec on Wheel FFB @ 100% and forget GM FFB...Let me explain...When i first plugged my tweek TF/RAC 75 into PC Pcars it worked exactly as it does on PS4:yes: No extra tweeking and the feel is good!!! after 40+ hrs while driving the 2+2 Fastback Mustang i began to notice that i a just tad bit more play in the wheel center on PC than i did on PS4...Hmmmm??? on PS4 i used GM FFB 100 GM and on wheel FFB 65 to 75 ...some days i feel stronger than others...LOL... PS4 GM FFB is set by the Fanatec on wheel FFB so it sets the Final at the wheel power and weight.
PC the GM FFB 100 + on Wheel FFB 100 is just way too strong to use!!!... so i reduced the on wheel FFB to 65 Feels Great but Driving the 2+2 Fastback Mustang the extra play in the wheel center became notable...also i noticed while driving the Gt3 Ruf on Watkins while on the uphill section that leads to the long straight before the bus stop i would feel the need to lift off the throttle as got to the top of the hill and the weight shifted before the left turn to the straight leading to the bus stop... I Always take that section full throttle No lift!!! after wondering why i feel the need to lift off the throttle i realized that for a brief second that the wheel was losing feel:yes: Yup you guessed it At the wheel clipping... i tested this over and over again and always in the same spot!!! right at the top of the turn as the Fz peaks from the up Hill and the weight shifts as you turn left.
I decided to reverse the GM FFB and Wheel settings!!! i set GM FFB 65 and on wheel FFB to 100 and jack pot:yes: the wheel center is more responsive/tighter with No Sponge or spring like feel to it:yes: i find that while driving the 2+2 mustang it is easier to control that car has a great deal of body roll and sway with the stock suspension tune and in the Gt3 Ruf i no longer feel the need to Lift off the throttle during the uphill section on watkins... the wheel has full feel all the way through with GM FFB 65.
Conclusion concerning PC Pcars GM FFB and Fanatec wheels...
IMO GM FFB should be treated and set like any other Racing game...set the FFB Strength according to the Desired FFB Strength that you want at the wheel.
Fanatec on wheel FFB should be set to 100 when setting your GM FFB...and once you have your GM FFB set to a comfortable level forget about it and use the on wheel FFB to make small adjustments here and there.
*** To keep it simple while adjusting the GM FFB with Fanatec on wheel FFB 100 Fanatec wheels are the same as any other wheel that does not have on wheel FFB control*** its just a Luxury that you can adjust on the wheel FFB on the fly.
***But don't get confused on PC GM FFB and Fanatec on wheel FFB are totally separate and independent of each other!!!
GM FFB 100 + On wheel FFB 100 = its just too dam strong and i find its better to reduce the GM FFB than it is to reduce FFB at the wheel:yes:

Mopwer you know how when your driving a old muscle car you can feel the torque steer in the wheel when you jam the gas...How the Hell did they get that feel in Pcars!!! yes its there!!! 2+2 fastback Mustang Jam the gas and by default the steering wheel rocks Left as the Left front of the car lifts as the back right tire digs in!!!
I know you know that feel im talking about!!! There are many among us who haven't driven a old Muscle car and don't know that distinct old Muscle car feel!!!

Basicly Yup...1080 has a few slight advantages that hopefully get maximized with future development:yes: But that's later Down the line... The 1070 is the enthusiast because they knew at that price point Most enthusiast would buy 2 for the here and Now:yes: with Dx12 and how it will be able to access every GPU core independently the price of both cards will be down and i may very well buy a 3rd 1070ftw if i feel i need mopowr!!! LOL ... I doubt i will need it though... as they said the cards are getting sooo powerful that the systems cant keep up... the card drivers will be Maximized so what they are really working on is Dx12 improvements etc...That's going to be the key to the future...Later will get here when it gets here.
IMO for the here and Now 2x 1070 SLI config is king. 2x 1070FTW performance = or exceeds 1 Titanx x for $500.00 less!!! and only $160. to $180. more than a single 1080FTW with a significant performance increase from what a single 1080 FTW offers...Price to performance ratio 2x 1070 SLI is a win in every performance review. youtube/geek magazines are flooded with the reviews about 1070 SLI vs single 1080 price to performance comparisons. Later who knows??? the here and Now matters most.... the whole 1000 series line up is really Good TBH... none of them are slouching but for $200. extra the here and now 1070 SLi performance is Sweeter than Bear Meat:cool:.... I know im Not even close to Maximizing what the config can Really Do... Im working on it...LOL... I dunno whats Next though.... Large size Monitors just cost too Much i will wait for VR to get better.

That's one of the things p cars does really right. I really think pcars is way ahead especially if they tweak the tire model in pcars 2 a little bit. Its so close to being truly great. Don't get me wrong ac is good and strangely enough I really enjoy even in its current state but I still think pcars is better. I think that's one of the problems with it though most people think some of the things you can feel are wrong but they really aren't.Just in most other titles you cant feel it and that's what they are used to. Ive got a bigblock 4speed 63 dart with a bigblock and 2 4s at work today so yeah I remember.lol

I doubt it. The number of units sold and the development schedule (in terms of the next series) determine price more than simple demand.
Also, by your own logic (the 1070 being priced for people to buy two), that would be another reason to lower the 1080 price if two card setups become the norm.
I think I'm in good shape for whatever comes next.

As it is Now GPU card companys are still creating a shortage to Keep prices High!!!
when things settle down... Lookinh at the 970/980 GPU's I say we have a Good 5yrs on the 1000 series cards before a Major upgrade is Needed... IMO they will thrive until the 2nd Gen i8 comes out... im Not going to run and buy the 1st Next gen processor... I will wait until they get it sorted and Maximized like they did with this gen and get the unlocked or what ever they gonna call it version.
Edit: also very interesting that when DX 12 gets Maximized you will be able to Mix GPU cards and Dx 12 will decide what card does what based on individual card performance!!! I wonder will GPU Card companys support this or try to impliment software to prevent it.
A shortage? I know they discontinue older models when new cards are released, but I don't think anyone is having trouble finding a 1000 series card right now.

Yeah... I started tweaking R3E FFB last week, but didn't get a chance to finish. The few adjustments I made, were a huge improvement (not to say the defaults were terrible). Our settings look pretty close, except your smoothing, Minimum Force, and Steering Rack values are much higher than mine. Of course, I haven't finished. I'll give your settings a try for comparison, though. Might speed up my own tuning process. :)
Also, yours is only bigger because you wear that cheap c-ring. :smiley_simmons:

I was at my local PC store today and they had all our cards in stock from various vendors but the prices where crazy , my card was $650 and i only paid $429 .
The SC EVGA 1070 was $790 .
The SC EVGA 1080 was $1119.
Yes Big Dad you rock!!! You started all of this... LOL...We are all your PC convert flock... LOL...and Nope No pissing contest Here  <---- Im very Happy with the set up i chose:yes: I'd do it again the same way...I had been reserching going PC for a while so i knew what PC config i wanted already... when you & Haiden converted and came back Screaming How Much Better it was thats what tipped the scales.
Here and Now is what Matters Most:yes: LOL
Edit: I tried that Cheap C ring you wear  Wont Fit im too Huge:victorious: LMFAO!!!
Edit: Exactly what i was saying!!! You can Find and get the cards but they shipping them out in Small amounts to drive the prices up!!!
if its like this when Dx 12 gets Fully Maximized the prices are Gonna be insane!!! Dx 12 Maximized = SLI on Streroids!!! they know what they doing.

Wow!!!! You guys need better stores. :) My 1080 (ASUS) was only $649. I would never pay $1,100 for a gpu.

Get the '92 DTM and try the Opel Omega 300 Evo500 it's my favorite atm . saying that, i haven't driven many of my cars .
yeah definitely buy from the R3E store for bigger savings . I've got 28 tracks now (3 to go)and 37 cars and so far $65 AUD . Going to get more cars next week .
I'm still to race online but when i do i'll hit you up for a race .
Edit : 29 tracks as Lakeview hillclimb is in practice mode and not in other modes .

Yeah...if you get them through the store, you can see it removing single items and discounting packs, based on what you already have in the cart or in your garage.
Anyone playing AC use the "Enhanced Understeer" option? Someone that just purchased PCars was complaining in a different thread there was no understeer feel. He was comparing it to AC, and I'm assuming he had the enhanced option checked, but with that disabled, AC's understeer is a lot more subtle, and feels closer to PCars to me. I turned it off, because my laps times are like 2-3 seconds slower with it on. Does anyone use it?

Forza 6 Apex just got wheel support. If you want an example of and exagerated understeer feeling, it's there.

I agree. I also think both oversteer and understeer can be useful on track. But with the enhanced understeer, when the tires slip, they are essentially useless. That full slip or nothing also makes it harder to keep heat in your tires, because the slightest bit of understeer makes you let up, and you don't/can't push as hard.

I was tempted to try that one. I hated the console version, but was wondering if PC might be a little better. Is the understeer optional/adjustable, or is it just a take or leave it kind of thing?
I think AC is a nice replacement for Forza, though. It's got the road and super cars I was missing, but the physics and handling are much better.

They just rolled out Logitech and Thurstmaster support. They said other wheels, including Fanatec, are coming later this month. MS has an official Fanatec wheel, a Forza branded GT rim, and a licensed universal hub. Why would they not support it? :)
Edit:
Note that there are additional wheels that we plan on bringing on board soon, notably Fanatec products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the Fanatec CSR models. Support for these Fanatec wheels will be arriving in Apex beginning in late September, with updates for both Windows 10 and Apex. In addition, H-pattern shifters are fully supported in Apex for all Logitech wheels listed above, except for the G29, which will be added at a later date. We will be adding additional support for H-pattern shifters from other manufacturers in the future.

Hi Haiden, yes I use it (on PS4), and with this option ON my laptimes are better (at least 1 sec). But I must admit I'm still looking for the good settings... I lowered my ffb to 27, and like that I feel quite same than in PCars. But fighting a little bit more with the wheel is good to (e.g. ffb 34%), so I go back and forth. Less sliders than in PCArs, but need time too...

I don't remember the settings available in the menu, i only played briefly. I didn't play for long because lots of cut scenes can't be easily skipped. The games lagged alot where i don't have any problems with pCars.
I'll try to post a screenshot of the wheel settings.

Thanks, but don't worry about it. It'll be a while before I ever pick it up. I just played the franchise since it started, and I guess I still have a lingering affinity for it. There are a couple of tracks I do miss like the Bernese Alps and Prague. But it was hard to get into Forza 6 when I tried it on console, because it lacked adjustable FOV, and I had to use the CSL rim, which means breaking out the allen wrench, because it doesn't have a quick release. With my current PC setup, I don't think the FOV will be as much of a problem, because the screen is mounted. I should also be able to use my quick release rims, instead of the CSL, so I'm willing to give Apex a try.
Whatever the settings, I know it's Forza. You just have to accept it for what it is. :)

Love how you need 16GB ram to play on 4K, makes it realy excecable for most., lol, it looks nice, realy nice but im trying with a game pad (xbone), i'll leave it for my kids.

Yes to SLI:yes: interesring... I had this info... But i didnt wat to stir the Pot:p LOL... 1060 SLI is the Equivilant of a Titan X!!! You have more Coores and same 12GB memory for 1/2 the Price!!!...Provided that the Game Has Cross fire support (Because No SLI on 1060) but when Dx12 is fully maximized you wont Need SLI Dx12 will access and use all GPU's to maximize the game best on its own...Foing forward this seems to be the way of the Future.
Interesting that R3E only uses 1 GPU... When i have the GPU monitor thing up the 2nd GPU is Pertty much doing Nothing... only GPU 1 is Very active...and i have all the Settings Maxed out.... No Stuttering/Tearing and No Slow Downs on 1 GPU Nice!!! Hmmm...Even still its Nice to Have the 2nd GPU for Games that use SLI... Its Like extra $$$ laying around you may Never Need it but its Nice to have it for when you do Need it.
Summation & Conclusion Better to have a Few bits too Much than to end up a bits short:yes:
Sony Dumb!!! They should have pulled the wheel biz after the New console Launched!!! They would have made a Killing in Extra sales....LOL
If you read the whole article it states:
"First off, again, it is not possible to actually join two GTX 1060s in any legitimate fashion. There are no SLI fingers, and Ashes is among the only titles that actually supports a form of explicit multi-GPU with Dx12. If you really, really wanted to play Ashes and only that game, then we suppose it'd be worth looking into. But outside of that specific use case, this is about the only testable scenario we presently have that is widely known to gaming."
So even if the power is there, it's not doable yet and games do not support it, yet.

Nah , haven't even tried the wheel ,
R3E is maxed bar shadows at medium and only 25 cars visible on my GTX 1060 and i use Moscow as a test because it is apparently the hardest to run .
I had Sonat from Sector 3 in a TeamView last night , (it's weird watching someone control your PC) he was trying to find my crash bug . Looks like it was Shadow play ??
It will be nice when DX12 gets fully implemented ,but until then 4K @ 60fps in current games will have to do ,lol.

I read it im typing on phone... I just edited post again... The Game would have to support Cross fire or Take advantage of Dx12 ability to Access each GPU as it needs to to Maximize Game Fully.
Edit: Dx12 is the future... Most game will more than likely take advantage of its ability to use and Maximize Each GPU independently.
Edit: From what i have been reading 3 and 4 way SLI configs while they can be used they are Not Going to be officially supported in the future.

Yes... My GPU and Shadow Play(Gforce experience) Drivers were updated maybe Monday and I had a Few Crashes My self!!! I Rolled back to the previose driver last Night and all is well.
I took My System off Auto update!!! I wont update until i read the Driver performance review after a few weeks.
Edit: Crash was always the Same and only Happend when exiting a Game "Display Resolution Not Supported"
But I wasnt getting these crashes before the Drive update... So i just Rolled Driver and Gforce Experience to the prior Driver.... and also The updated Gforce experience was forcing Me to Sugn in Every time i wanted to use it and was a totally Diff UI... The Prior Version was Not like that.. It was just Click open use.
I have My Desk top set to 1080p because UHD desk top Makes the Desk top Icons small and when i use web browser the print is Small and i have to Scale it 200% so its regular size and readable... All games just Scale to what UHD or ever i have them set to play in.
This PC Gaming learning Curve sucks!!! I spend 50% reading and reserching, 25% Testing and Configuring, 25% Gaming.... Shrugggs...I did PC Gaming before so im Not totally Lost but its been a while so i had alotta catching up to do.... Suck when your Machine goes down and you have No clue how to get it back up and running. #Geek Mode:yes:

Came across this in the R3E forums and thought it was worth sharing.
Since the FFB in R3E is based on the car physics (Tire load & grip + suspension geometry), different cars result in different FFB strength. So in the past you might have found your perfect FFB settings for one car, only to find out they don't work as well with another car. To avoid this, you are now able to adjust the cars individual FFB strength by changing the FFB Multiplier. You will find this new Setting in the Car Setup>Steering Settings. Increase the FFB Multiplier if a particular car feels too weak. Decrease it, if the FFB of the car is causing heavy clipping.
In-car fine tuning, seems to be the same for AC. I say that, because they actually give you an in-car FFB auto-tuner to make sure each car's FFB is set to a level that maximizes the force output without clipping. I doubt they wasted time making and including a plug-in for in-car fine tuning if it wasn't necessary/recommended. So, the reason I find this interesting is, if both AC and R3E acknowledge that individual car models can affect the FFB in a way that the optimal setting for one car isn't optimal for another, then why would PCars be any different?
Now, that's not to say you can't find a general overall setting that doesn't clip in any car. Of course you can. But, like AC's auto-tuner will show you, that means the force level in some cars is underpowered, because a general/overall setting is based on the lowest common denominator. The problem becomes clear when you look at some of the open wheelers in AC. They generate strong forces, and the auto-tuner often recommends very low in-car FFB strength. The difference between the recommended values of open wheelers and road cars can be as much as 50 increments in some cases. Obviously, setting your road car's FFB strength the same as the open wheelers wouldn't make much sense. They'd feel way too light and you'd wouldn't be able to feel the lower, subtle forces. I don't see how PCars is any different, and I think this is what Jack Spade's individual settings (or anyone else's for that matter) aims to balance.
Edit:
Also, this...
Depending on the Wheel you own, choose how much Clipping you want to allow. If you for example own a Logitech G27, you should aim for Mild Clipping values, in order not to loose too much of the overall FFB Strength. If you own a high end, direct driven wheel you can easily set it up for Zero Clipping, for the maximum amount of detail.
This is important to keep in mind, because, I think a lot of people think zero clipping is the best, and it is. However, not all wheels can achieve zero clipping and maintain a good dynamic range. This is where PCars' Soft Clipping (Half/Full) come into play, by allowing you keep the low and high end of the force curve within a detectable range. Not all wheels require soft clipping, and your settings and personal taste highly influence whether it's needed or not. But, for some wheels, it's a must in order to keep the full dynamic range at detectable levels. For those wheels, without Soft Clipping H/F, reducing the FFB strength to non-clipping levels will drop the low end of the force curve to undetectable levels. You won't be clipping, but you also won't be feeling the lower subtle forces because they're simply to weak at that level.
just a little tip i got from the producer of R3E is to use the Nvidia V-sync instead of the one in game .
Even though without V-sync on i was getting 90-110fps it still had a stutter , and with ingame V-sync it would sometimes drop from 60 down to 59.2 or something and create a stutter also but with the Nvidia v-sync it is stuck solid at 60fps and not a stutter to be seen .
Just in case any of you guys experienced the same thing .

You can do better than that on controller.json file even. IIRC you can chose how to mix what goes into the FFB and the wave types... Or is it in rF2 controller file?

I agree with this statement with PC Pcars... Un like PS4 Pcars with Fanatec wheels the PC GM FFB has a Definit and Clear effect on FFB Strength!!! I found i was getting at the wheel Clipping with PC Game Master FFB 100...and as you Stated all game Settings to adjust FFB work the same so why should GM FFB work differently on Pcars??? ... Fx, Fy SOP etc are Not that important those just set the level of a particular force that you may want to feel more or Less of so you set those accordingly but the Overal Strength of Fx,Fy, etc & SOP is detrmind by the in Car Masters... So it becomes more important to adjust the masters per car until the Strength and Feel is right for you.
I for Now use PC 65 GM FFB and 100 on wheel FFB and as i always Stated + or - The In Car Masters until the Feel is Right for you... Yes I agree with this satement and Have always applied it to My tweek Methode with PS4 Pcars using the in Car Masters + or - to adjust the cars for best individual Feel...
On PS4 for My taste 100 in car Masters works well on all cars.
I find that with PC i may Need to + or - the individual in Car Masters because there is Much More feel that is Not present in PS4 version... I have Not yet reached a Final Conclusion yet im Still testing....Lowering GM FFB and using On wheel 100 makes a Big Diff in the Subtle forces feel while turning under Heavy weight Transfer or when Stronger Forces are active at the same time... Using GMFFB 100F you May be getting at the wheel Clipping and dont even know!!! Its Very Mild but you will and do loose subtke forces feel when it happens but the stronger forces Remain.

just a little tip i got from the producer of R3E is to use the Nvidia V-sync instead of the one in game .
Hmmm I will try this... so you set UHD @ 60htz in the Driver or do you create a custom FFS profile??? Im at work i saw that but cant remember the specifics.
You can do better than that on controller.json file even. IIRC you can chose how to mix what goes into the FFB and the wave types... Or is it in rF2 controller file?
"Dazed and confused. But trying to continue" (tm)
I think you're right...the controller.json file.
Hmmm I will try this... so you set UHD @ 60htz in the Driver or do you create a custom FFS profile??? Im at work i saw that but cant remember the specifics.
My GPU/Driver and Windows are both set to 3840x2160@60Hz and in the Nvidia control panel it's set to all default except for Single Display Performance instead of Multi Display and power Management to Adaptive .
But I create a separate profile in the control panel for specific games , R3E and AMS specifically . For R3E i have vertical sync on (off in game) and a couple of other things i found helped .
235670
At the top (Program Settings ) is where you find the R3E file and make the profile .
None of its hard its just knowing what to click on and off... Even SLI can be Clicked on and Off when Needed in 60secs or Less.
Just right click any where on the desktop and select view and you can arrange and resize icons however you want .
I sit 1mtr from my display so even at 3840x2160 everything is easy the read and icons are at Medium . But scaled to 150% in Windows.

Are you on 1607? I am!
I have set AMS up(visually and FFB) (FFB is simple but very informative) and do like the way it feels but graphically it doesn't compete to R3E and AC but i think if you where looming for a great ffb and some pretty cool open wheelers and tracks that you've never raced on it's well worth the $30.
I didn't even realise it had a day/night cycle untill i set up a 4:30pm race and had time at x2.
Pretty nice.
Montreal GP track in the Boxter (ripped of Porsche) cockpit looks quite impressive.
But finding the tine to play it when i love R3E is hard.
If you wanted to try the older version(Stockcar extreme) it's onsale on Steam and apparently they are the same game but with a bit less content.

I had the same problem last night but windows said it was up to date even though it wasn't, so in the end i contacted windows support who tried remotely, he failed then some other guy fixed it but it took several hours & lots of messing with cmd. Anyway small coincidence as we got chatting he said he was from Indonesia:).

Same. I just went into the control panel and told it to check for updates, and it found it.
It did mess with a few drivers, though. Everything was working after the reboot, but then the CSW-v2 started acting up in AC, and I couldn't access the Fanatec control panel. I rebooted, and then only the pedals showed in the control panel. I reinstalled v250 driver and it seems fine now. But my headset drivers were a little wonky, too. I thought it was AC, because some cars didn't have engine sound. I was about to reinstall the game, but luckily tried the external speaker and noticed they were fine. I unplugged the wireless USB transmitter for the headphones, and when I reconnected them, they worked fine.
Anyway, it is a major update, so be prepared for a little troubleshooting. It might go fine, but since you already have drivers installed, they could get corrupted and need to be reinstalled. You can put it off, but you'll have to run it eventually to get the latest version of DX12. Might as well do it now, before you load anything else on the machine.

How are the liveries? When you run a race, is there variety in the grid, or they all use the same one or two liveries?
I know what you mean. I've got PCars, R3E, and AC dialed in. They all feel like butter--different brands, of course--and provide very informative feedback. It's awesome. I can't believe how good the rig feel now. :) I can never decide which one to play, but I'm really loving R3E now. I still need to tweak the R3E sounds a bit, nothing major. It sounds great now, and I the reason I keep forgetting to do it is because once I started driving, I'm just having too much fun. Hopping from game to game is a very easy transition, because, despite the slight differences in feel, due to their individual approach to FFB, the information is still there. By the end of the first lap, I'm ready to start pushing.
I may give AMS a try soon. The track evolution part has really grabbed my interest. Let me know about the liveries, though. That's one of my dings with AC. Some of the car classes don't have enough liveries to fill the grid. The ASR mods are great for an F1 experience, but they three 1991 cars don't have any additional liveries. The driving experience is fantastic. But a 22 car grid, with seven sets of identical cars is a little boring. :)
Edit: Also, can you adjust the FOV? The gameplay videos I've see all seem to be using a pretty high FOV setting, that seems a little too deep, pushing the wheel and dashboard out pretty far. That said, although the wheel and dash seem further away, the track doesn't seem as narrow as it does in other games when you set the FOV too high. What do you think?
Hi Haiden, yes I use it (on PS4), and with this option ON my laptimes are better (at least 1 sec). But I must admit I'm still looking for the good settings... I lowered my ffb to 27, and like that I feel quite same than in PCars. But fighting a little bit more with the wheel is good to (e.g. ffb 34%), so I go back and forth. Less sliders than in PCArs, but need time too...
I was playing around last night. The ffb in ac is really strong! I'm actually at 18 for the master now.Yes 18 with the understeer effect off. At first I had it on because it lowered some of the cornering weight but its a lot better off. You can feel more as you lower the ffb too. With it set like this I pretty easily beat all the tracks that are supposed to be unwinnable. Now don't take that the wrong way. I said easily because at least I could keep up now before I was usually 4-10 seconds off pace. Not many races in ac are actually easy on console. I was driving my a-- off to turn the times I was but it is doable and it was really a lot of fun pushing myself. That's one thing I noticed last night was you can find time everywhere but you need to pay attention to the lap timer to see where youre hurting yourself. Over driving corners will kill your times and sometimes you don't even realize youre doing it. By the end of the night I was setting the fastest laps in most of the races. Ac definitely makes you work for it though.

When you say Master do you mean the global setting? Do you have an in-car FF gain, as well? Compared to PC, that seems super light. I leave the global at 100, and then let the in-car FFB auto-tuner find the clipping limit at the individual car level. With the global gain set to 100, the in-car auto-tuner usually recommends an in-car FF gain setting of 70-90 for road car, and 40-65 for high down force cars. I find the road car recommendations a little heavy, though, and usually cut them by 10-20. But going too low, I find I lose slip feel. I still feel the slip, but not the complete slope of the force, because the FF isn't strong enough for me to detect the lower end of what's being communicated. It took me a while to realize that, though, because, like I said, you can still feel the slip and it might even feel more pronounced and still has a high and low end, but I noticed when the force level is higher, the slip duration seemed to run longer, and I'm more capable of controlling them. Of course, that's the PC side. I was just surprised to see a setting of 18, even on console. Is that the global or the in-car setting?
I agree about having to work much harder for it in AC. It's less forgiving than PCars. But I haven't beaten any tracks yet on PC. I think I won at Silverstone with the AI in the high 90s, but that's a track I know inside out, and I've yet to see a sim AI that doesn't leave time on the table going through the Maggots/Becketts complex, which is something you can exploit and get a better exit coming out onto the long straight. Most other tracks, I'm still running AI at 90.
R3E is also less forgiving than PCars, but the AI isn't as intense as AC. I can run it 100 and still have a good chance of taking pole and/or winning the race.

On console you have one ffb control. Basically what we would call the master in p cars. Then you have control settings to raise the curb and road effects and an on/off for understeer. Its very limited and i wish we had a few more adjustments like you guys on pc.Actually I was surprised to when I started turning it down more I was at 25 which was lower then most on here but after looking at the other forums most of the guys with thrustmaster wheels(t300/500) are in the 15-25 range. It seems like the cornering forces get a lot stronger out of proportion to wheel weight when you start going much higher then that range. Just a lot of wheel weight in corners along with a loss of detail. Almost like it saturates the wheel very easily in that range of forces. All I know is I dropped my lap times a bunch and found it much easier with the lower setting so I'm leaving it. One thing that kills me though is not being able to calibrate the brake pedal and leave it. Every time I play its like learning it all over again. I guess if you didn't have a load cell it would be fine but this is supposed to be a sim and a lot of us do have them.
Keep an eye on the lap timer. I found it really helpful in finding time last night. Even when I thought I couldn't go any faster I was finding time in the corners. If I could only put it all together in one lap.lol I was surprised even being in the wrong gear might add 5 tenths in one corner. It didn't feel wrong in either gear just one let car rotate a lot better through the corner and ended up being a lot faster. I actually like the lower gear better but it was just too slow to use. I'm sure you
know this but don't just look at it coming off the corner it may take half a straight away to see the real gains because of the corner exit speed.

That is strange--the stuff they dropped. I think there's also a steering gain in AC (might be confusing AC and R3E, though, but I think it's in both), which you can adjust in tandem with the global FFB. That allows you to raise the overall strength, without letting it get to strong in the corners.
I know what you mean. Being in the right gear allows you to accelerate faster on exit. Not so important going corner to corner, but it's critical when the corner opens onto a straight. Whatever gain you make--doesn't matter if it's .500 or .050--you carry that advantage all the way down the straight. Slow in, fast out. :) Which is why you often see your delta drop into red while you're in the corner, but then equalize, and start climbing back into the green as you exit and run down the straight. And slow in also has the added benefit of making it easier to take the corner and get lined up for the exit. :)
Yeah...I agree about the lap delta app in AC. I love it, because it not only shows the overall delta, but it also shows the delta in relation to your current position on the track, so you know exactly where in the sector you were down or up. Without that, all you know is how you did in the sector overall. You can be up in a sector overall, but still losing time in particular part of that sector.

There , on topic again.
Thanks Big Dad:yes: Im currentley working to see if i can tweek it more to better Maximize Feel.... My dilemma Now is if its better to Keep GM FFB 100 and on wheel 65 to 75 or is it better to Set GM FFB 65 to 75 and set on wheel FFB to 100... They both feel the same or just about the same... The difference its Some wheels dont have on wheel FFB settings so this has to be considered.... Hmmm? Tweek tweek Tweek...
Remember you can + or - the In Car Masters per Car to set the FFB strength thats best for you and the wheel you use:yes:

They both come after the FFB calculations. Is there really a difference?
Its a very Slight Difference... The Diff is GM FFB 100 you may get a Tad bit of at the wheel clipping i felt this in the 2+2 Fastback Mustang at watkins going up hill into the Left leading to the bus stop... there are alotta Road and weight transfer forces in play on that section because of the up hill quick left... It was Very breif... it could have been 1 wheel off the ground maybe even been a Corrupt FFB game Load??? It happened a few times during the same session... But I cant get it to happen Consistently after that... Its Random:confused: ... Maybe im on a Slightly Diff line... Shrugggs...But it made the Tweeker in Me want to investigate it further.
Also i was considering the Fact that only Fanatec wheels have on Wheel FFB adjustment VS Wheels that have to be set with GM FFB to adjust Final at the wheel FFB strength.... It seems to reason that when Fanatec wheel FFB strength is set to 100% that they should act like every other wheel when adjusting GM FFB... This May or May Not be the case... I cant say for sure because each wheel has diff FW and interacts with the GM FFB differently.
The diff is mainly in the wheel Center... But its Very Very Slight...you would Have to set DRR to Off to Notice it.
IMO
GM FFB 100 = DRR 0
GM FFB 65 to 75 = DRR 1
They Both Feel Good the Diff is sooo Slight after testing for a while you lose track and they both feel the same:confused: My best Guess is you adapt and adjust your driving Line and Reaction time to compensate.
Im just im investigating to Make sure that there is No at the wheel Clipping when using GM FFB 100.
Try it and tell Me what you Feel... also you would be Very Nicely surprised when you test FA and there us No Oscillation!!! Other than Road Feel the wheel is as Calm as it can be... No you can Not let the wheel Go due to Road Feel... But you can Go Full Speed and Remove 1 hand from the wheel and with 1 finger on the other hand keep the wheel Straight and Calm... Test it for yourself:cool:... I have been neaningbto make a Video of that but have not had the time to do it yet.

Yes Big Dad that is the Exact Problem i Had!!! when you Load the Game Check your Tv/Monitor it will say your playing in 1080p!!! But you know you have 4k settings programmed in!!! and its olaying in 4k but the TV is displaying the wrong resolution... those 2 Videos i posted a few pages back when you first Mentioned this is How i Resolved the problem... Delete yhe Game!!! Not through Steam go into the Steam Folder and delete from there... Turn off Cloud Save... Re doenload Game, Set -Cleancloud in Special launch instructions.
update 1.8 made Changes to the Graphics...if you dont turn Off Cloud back up and set -cleancloud it will Re-Load the game with your last Game save which has the Corrupt Graphics Data thats causing the issue... Even after a Fresh instal!!! Good part is AC will work again... Bad part is you lose your Game progress.
Also the windows Anniversary update Screwed up all the Games!!! I had to Reset all My GPU settings... Race Room is the only 1 thats still screwed that i had to delete and reinstall... Race Room on My PC says 60FPS but its Very Glitchy with alotta Screen tearing!!! it used to be smoooth as butter!!! I did the same proceedure i will check it to see if it worked...Im pretty sure it will be Good... I hope... LOL
How do you get the In Game Credits??? I put $$$ on My syeam account but it didnt tranlate to R3E in Game Credits... Do i have to buy a Steam card and enyer it in Game??? I see No way to transfer $$$ to R3E for Game Credits other than a Steam Card.

After tuning AC and R3E, I'm more convinced that global FF@100 is the way to go. The overwhelming majority of videos I watched for AC and R3E FFB settings, all recommend setting FF=100, adjusting steering gain to personal tastes to shape the force, and then using the in-car FF gain to fine tuning the FFB to ensure it isn't clipping. That methodology works beautifully in AC and R3E. I don't see why PCars (which has the same three levels of controls) would be any different.
Not surprising, at all. I've long since solved the FA oscillation issue. Haven't had a problem in any car for longer than I can remember.

I cant say i dissagree with any credible facts or information... GM FFB 100 + on wheel FFB 100 is very strong so i usually cut GM FFB down and adjust around the Lower GM FFB value... Ive been exploring both ways and its all the same or sooo Close that the diff is barely Notable:yes:

Hmmm... IDK... It doesn't take long for the window to pop up for me. I made a few purchases last night, and it behaved the same way it always does.

GM FFB=100 is strong if you don't adjust Steering Gain and/or in-car Master Gain to suitable levels. It's the same in all three games.
When I test drove the Formula 2 series cars in the R3E store, I thought they felt numb, so I didn't purchase them. Last night, I realized what the issue was. When you test drive the cars, you can't change the setups, so the in-car FF was set to it's default, which was too high and causing massive clipping in corners when the forces ramped up. That's why it felt numb. After I purchased the car, all I had to do was lower the in-car FF, using the FFB telemetry window as a clipping guide, and it felt great. The full dynamic range is totally there.

I found as long as you're signed in to R3E store via Steam as you hit purchase it connects to steam and asks you to authorise the purchase and deducts money from your Steam wallet .
This for all the pc converts.lol You guys know ive been toying with going pc but my one biggest worry is exactly what it looks like you guys are doing. How much time are you spending making it work before you actually get to play each night? I don't want to spend an hour fixing stuff every time I want to play.

Don't get the wrong idea, man. I installed my games and started playing right away. I spent a little time tweaking the graphics, but most of that time was spent reorienting myself as to what the options were. Since then, the only time I had to mess with anything was when I updated Windows to 1607. But that was a major OS update, so a little driver corruption is expected. It also wasn't a necessary update. I only ran it, so I could download Forza Apex. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been an immediate need.
My PC boots up way faster than both of my consoles. When I want to play, I play, no farting around required. I spend absolutely zero time making it work when I want to play. I finished getting ready for work early this morning and had 25 minutes. I booted up the PC, started a race session in R3E with a 10 minute quali round and a 10 minute race, ran it, and was out the door heading to work 25 minutes later. :) And it was a damn good race, too. Worked my butt off for that 3rd place. :victorious:
TBH... sim racing on PC has been pretty much trouble free, compared to my experience on console. And, the small amount of setup/learning curve was definitely worth it. Trust me. I was just like you, and I now regret every month of delay. The experience on PC is absolutely that much better than console. Like me, you honestly don't know what you're missing. If you consider sim racing a serious hobby, then just do it. You will not regret it. In addition to an all around better experience, it opens up a world of options for you.
In the end, sure...consoles are easier. But that ease comes at a big price. PCars console and PC versions are like two different games. And although I've never tried AC on console, listening to you guys talk about it, I wouldn't even know you were playing the same game.
I admit, I had a little anxiety after buying the PC, because I started having those "How much better can it actually be?" thoughts. Once I got it all set up (and that didn't take long--about an hour to get up and running), those thoughts went away within the first 3 laps, because all I did was plug in my old settings as-is, and PCars felt AMAZING, like a totally different game :)
Edit: I once heard a reviewer say the CSW-v2 was overkill for console. I thought that silly, because I had had a TX and a T300 and knew the CSW-v2's feedback felt much better. But now I understand what he meant. My CSW-v2 was capable of so much more detail than the console was able to provide. I didn't realize how under utilized it was. I haven't tried my T300 on the PC, but I'm assuming it would also benefit from the PC's increased fidelity. Think of the PC/console as the amplifier--the better the amplifier, the more you can get out of your speakers. :)
Forza is awful, can't believe i used to envy xbox for that crap. ok its beta but still.

Thats Exactly why i procrastinated and waited sooo long to go PC... But when you get it right its Right!!! its a Much better Sim Racing experience... It just sucks now with the windows 10 Anniversary update!!! Pcars, Assetto corsa:yes: they work just Fine... my bain Right Now is R3E its just playing Glitchy and its stuttering its unplayable ATM... I think its the Windows update it used to play Smooth as butter....
Its All a learning Curve though... I switched to pc too. I've built sth. in the 550€ range with an rx480 to play with high settings in 1080p.
This is how it goes. Plug wheel in, Push the buttons on pc and TV, wait about 15 seconds and Double click on pcars on my desktop. That's it. Looks 3 times better and loads twice as fast than on ps4 already (especially in rain). And i dont have to recalibrate my wheel anymore, can use a proper headset, dont have to use a usb Hub and so on. Pretty much plug and play.
Win 10 install was about 20-30 minutes. Best thing, you can sit on your couch and switch to tv while installing.
Of course you can mess around with the graphic settings
For pcars there is detailed information on youtube, if you want to maximise your experience.

Is R3E playing Glitchy with stuttering FPS for any 1 else???
Is R3E playing Glitchy with stuttering FPS for any 1 else???
No, man. Not sure what's causing that. The only thing the Windows update messed up was my Fanatec driver, which I simply reinstalled. It also disabled the surround sound in my headset, but when I disconnected the wireless USB transmitter and plugged it back in, I got a message saying something like, Windows thinks the sound enhanced on this device will cause problems and wants to disable it. I said now, and everything's been fine since.
Those two little things were the only PC related fiddling I was forced to do. Anything else I've tinkered with (apps, FPS counters, gfx settings, etc) have been out of personal curiosity.
Forza is awful, can't believe i used to envy xbox for that crap. ok its beta but still.
Forza is Forza. You either take it for what it is, or leave it.
The Xb1 version was pretty much the same as Forza5, just seemed more like a finished version of that. They just brought wheel support to the PC version, so I'm not sure if your comment is based on that or the console version. But so far, from what I've heard, the PC FFB is a big improvement over the console version. No one's saying it's stellar, or trying to compare it to other PC sims. They just said the FFB was a welcome improvement. I don't expect it to replace any of my current sims. But I wouldn't mind driving the Bernese Alps or Prague again. I really like those tracks.

It seems that the crowd is split on the Anniversary update. For some people it ran fine, no problems. Others are having some troubles. Microsoft now admits it screwed up. TBH, even though it worked out for me, I knew I made a mistake as soon as the update started. Normally, I would do a little research on a major update. But I didn't actually realize it was a major updated when I started the download. When I realized it, I should have stopped and did a few good searches, because, looking back, it wasn't worth the risk just to get Forza Apex...LOL. If I had even read just one of the articles I read after the update, I never would have tried it.
That said, the good news is, people are screaming pretty loud, so MS is definitely going to jump on getting things sorted. They should have patches soon. But try that fix in the video and keep searching Google for "R3e windows 1607 gaming issues" You'll see quite a bit of info on it as it relates to gaming.

Hey Mate, I've found it pretty plug and play, just gotta get the updates done (same as console) just more of them.
I can start my game, say AC and be playing (actually racing) in 45 seconds, from once the windows is running, start stop watch, click AC, 20sec main menu, select car and track 10 sec, 15 sec after that, at the track.
Not a hour, 45 seconds.
I'm a complete pc Noob, never owned a pc before this and and was a bit concerned I'd get lost in it, but i will probably never turn my ps4 on (for myself just the kids) again.
Love it, just can't stop.
I had my ps4 crash so many times with pCars, so many ffb issues, sound issues, graphical issues. Had to pay to play online, suffered with sloppy fps and low resolution.
Now i play at 4K locked at 60fps for all games, haven't had any ffb, sound issues, can play online for free, get free content(mods), have a choice of numerous quality racing Sims and alsorts of content i have only dreamed about.

I have win 10 anniversary and don't have any issues. Honestly couldn't even tell i updated if i didn't know.
All games seem to run the same as before, possibly better. My AC menu issue cane after driver update 372.70 but the game now actually runs at higher fps at the same settings so I've upt the settings, same with R3E just using vsync in the Nvidia control panel instead of game.

No, absolutely smoooooth as. Like melted chocolate, deliciously smooth.

I updated the gpu drivers, too. I'm also now letting the gpu handle the v-sync for all games. I was getting a stable 60 before, and can't say I see a noticeable difference, but when I read your post, it just seemed to make more sense to let the gpu handle that. Until I run into a game that presents and issue, I'll keep it that way. Thanks!

I haven't had any issues, so far. From what I read, there were problems with the roll out, but it's worked fine for a lot of people. Apparently, when it works, it works fine. Unless I experience run into an issue over the next few days, I'll probably keep it.

Slightly different hardware, means slightly different driver combinations. And even when the same drivers are being used, they're being processed/utilized by different hardware--faster clock speeds, slightly different architecture, etc. That's why, no matter how hard a developer tests their software, there will always be launch bugs. There's simply no way for them to test every possible hardware and driver combination. When it gets to the masses, that's when they discover conflicts they didn't even know about.

Different CPU's... Memory speeds?
Haswell CPU's have this much tighter dependency with memory clocks, a.e, which affects bandwidth which affects performance...

I was just about type that...LOL
Yes. Different CPUs, different RAM, all with different clock speeds (Big Dad's is even OC'd), we all have different Mobos, and our GPUs are all made by different manufacturers. We have different devices connected, which means we all have a unique set of drivers running.
Things are hardly ever equal with PCs, unless they are same model same manufacturer.
Mine is working noticeably better then ever before. Maybe it has to do with AMD vs. Intel. CPU. ? I'm hitting on all 8 cycl. of my 8 core CPU. At least I'm guessing that's the improvement promised with DX 12 for all applications? Also the graphics look much better, in all games, more colorful, then before?

Also, and I know you won't want to hear this, and I'm not saying it to debate, but if you're really looking to troubleshoot the issue, then you have to consider it, because it is a major architectural difference between our builds. You're running an SLI configuration, and they are known to sometimes be problematic with certain games.

I'm running 8 cores, as well, with an Intel chip--no problems. But I don't think it's a core issue. Big Dad is also running 4 cores, and he isn't experiencing any problems.

I was trying when i was getting crashes in R3E but they seem to have stopped after turning off Shadowplay .

I thought about that before i did the Roll back from windows Anniversary update and Driver 372.70:yes: I dissabled Sli and Tested in Every config i could think of even Lowering the resolution to 1080p 6Htz with reduced settings... The update just was No Good for Me... I noticed even My mouse arrow was stuttering across the screen!!! I then Rolled back the Windows update Re Activated SLI and Everthing was Smooth as Glass...i also Tested the Driver 373.70 and it Had Micro Stuttering Issues SLI and No SLI I rolled back to 372.54 and Again Everthing Smooth as Glass.
Pcars, Assetto Corsa use SLI No Problem....R3E will Not use SLI but i dont have to Dissable it... R3E by Default will only show 1 GPU being used... the other is pretty Much Dormant and Not used Accirding to the Afterburner app...then i switch games and the 2nd GPU comes back to life... No Need to turn SLI off and on.... But even if it was its just the Click of a button and when i click it back on My SLI settings are intact.
Since the Roll back the PC is Back to Norm.

I tried to roll back drivers but my Nvidia Geforce wouldnt let me . How did you do it?
Go to web site for your GPU and look for the Driver down loads... Find the driver that was installed before you updated... if you don't know which 1 that is the pick the driver that came out closest to the time before you had your PC built...any driver after the date you bought your PC home would be a update... Down load it, un zip the file and install it... it installs its self its all just click Agree, yes, yes etc...LOL
And your CPU runs about 20c hotter than mine ?? My max is about 38c .
That all depends on the My room Temp... its been Hot up here 80+ my room maybe 75 + or - a few degrees, also i have 2 GPU cars so thats more heat being created inside the PC case...but Norm my GPU stays 42*c idle and No more than 52*c when gaming... also what i noticed is the higher i push the settings the More heat it makes...Im Running every thing on Ultra except Shadow,Mirror, and Grass those are set to high... I could get away with ultra on those also but it makes no sense to do so because i don't notice any of those while racing and they are Huge Processing Hogs!!! Reducing those to high allows me to Run a full grid that wont dip below 48FPS with Thunderstorm conditions it all depend on where im at in the Pack... I can even set them to medium for Full Grid Mid Pack better FPS and PC will run Cooler because of this also.... I usually run No more than 19 cars + Me =20

I dunno if they even released the 4.0 update yet i took My PS4 off Line to avoid it!!! LOL... I will plug it back in Now that things have settled.
The one thing that i question is why did people with Fanatec wheels accept the day 1 Assetto Corsa patch??? There were may reports of the wheel working until the day 1 patch hit... I myself wouldnt have accepted it:confused: I would have waited and checked online to see if it was the wheel killer before i downloaded it:eagerness:...No Need for every 1 to get zapped...LOL

That Windows Anniversary update was just BAD!!! it had My PC running Soooo Sloppy and slow... I rolled back to the original version of window the PC came with but Now im Getting crashes and device errors all over the Place!!! im just going to Reinstall windows Again that's that....The Anniversary update seems to have taken over everything and wont let go... I cant even install a fresh Fanatec FW... see attached pic.
Im wiping the whole PC and starting over!!! Next time I update will be weeks after intense research!!! That old saying is true!!! If it aint broke dont fix it!!!

I'd recommend uninstalling the current driver first. Not a requirement, but it's cleaner and leaves less room for corruption/errors.

You do want the CPU running as cool as it can, though, because heat is a performance killer. My CPU runs at about 22 degrees normal, and only 28-35 under load. The GPU runs in the 30-45 range under load.

Probably because if they didn't, they wouldn't be able to play multiplayer. And, also... I think most people assumed Sony was going to lube up a bit before sticking it to them. :)

Rolling back a major OS update is rarely a good idea. It's just not that simple, because the changes made are usually pretty deep. It s always hit or miss, and if it misses, it's a pain in the arse.
That error message seems to be more of a file location issue. Did you redownload the driver and try it using the new file, or are you trying to install it from an old download?
Also, you might want to uninstall you current Fanatec drivers, unplug the devices, reboot, and then try to reinstall the driver. That is, if you already haven't.
On the FFB front. One thing I hope SMS does differently in PCars 2 is the FFB telemetry window. Both AC and R3E use a simple chart window with a yellow line at the bottom and a red line in the upper portion. When the wave goes above the red line, you're clipping. Period. It doesn't flow up and down, based on the direction your turning. You don't have to visualize where the middle is. IMO, it doesn't matter which way you're turning, because you're not setting FFB up based on that. You simply need to know when your signal is clipping.
Those other sims also have plenty of room above the red line in the telemetry window, so you can see how much clipping you're getting. I think the lack of space above the clipping line in the PCars telemetry window is why a lot of people think they have to eliminate clipping all together. That just results in a lot of FFB tunes with underutilized force feedback, because they've tune it so that even their sharp quick curb spikes are below the clipping line. When you can see the space above the line, you can better determine how much clipping is acceptable.

I did all of that... I looked in the SSD and the HDD and could not find it i even used the search box for Fanatec and Daytronics<--- i think thats what it is thats how the drivers are signed Now...I dont have the paper with the exact name in front of me...It was no where to be found...
I just Reinstalled windows so that everything to original state...My part is already done i have downloaded all my soft ware Fanatec driver, Afterburner, steam etc im just waiting for the steam games to finish down loading.
I'm Not being a Smart Arse either... Thanks for all of your input because it makes me check, Check again and tripple check...That's a Sincere and Genuine Compliment:yes: Dude just take it and run with it...LOL
The Good thing is this time i installed all the games to the SSD:yes: Im going to add at least another 750gb SSD Space when i get a chance... the 250GB SSD will fill up quickly.

Do you guys notice anything different with FFB ?
Gonna try it out when I get in from work.
So far I have had to lower Tire Force to 35 with current settings to do a lap at Nordscliefe with Stanceworks BMW for internal fan not to come on with Thrustmaster T300 Servo Base on PS4.

Ok PC is Now back up and Running:yes:
Hmmm... I wonder if i had a Corrupt Fanatec Driver instal from the Beginning:confused: the FFB feels even better /more direct than before... I know did delete Steam Pcars ,AC etc fanatec Driver 2x on initial PC set up before i did the propper Config to have Games instal to the HDD and Not the SSD....But any way All Seems well for Now... I just let Steam and All Games DL to the SSD...only thing 250GB is Nothing!!! Pcars, Dirt Rally, AC, R3E and i only have 90GB Left...WOW!!! Im going to Need More SSD Really Soon!!!
I only Did the Quick Reset and instal... If it acts up again i will set it over night to Do a Full Wipe and Reinstal... Shrugggs...Just hoping i dont have any settings artifacts left over that interfere with the quick reset.
This PC learning Curve sucks.
Edit: its Not just Pcars that FFB feels better its better with all games!!!
Also what the advantage of setting the GPU to Control FPS??? I tried it both ways Game Controled, GPU controled FPS ... Really No big Diff but with Game Controlled FPS i Stay Pinned to 60FPS Constantly... GPU controlled it Fluctuates slightly but only by + or - 3 FPS.

Hey i Might as well test it... Cant hurt... if they screw up PS4 Pcars and Fanatec whats that gotta do with Me... Im on PC Pcars Now... LOL
I do Miss the Constant online action PS4 Pcars has... Its hard to find a Online Race in PC...But when you find them they are really Good... PS4 online action is 24/7!!! alwats find more than a Few Crash fest!!! Some of the Lobbys are Good though.

I don't really miss the online action on console. Sure, there were more full servers, but they were all infested with crashers and idiots that don't care for etiquette. On PC, there are less full servers, but because of the smaller community, you start seeing the same names and get to know the drivers. The crashers can't find a haven, because everyone knows them, and they often get kicked as soon as they come in. Like, Inky. The guy's a well-known crasher. As soon as he jumps in, people start calling for him to be kicked...LOL
You also get to learn who you can trust on the track. There are certain people (like Buz, Lollygag, Ebony Girl, Griph) I know I don't have to even give a second thought to if they are behind me coming down a straight to a hairpin. I've raced with them enough to know they'll adjust their braking point and not run up my arse. On console, you have to give a little of your focus to defense driving, and that really sucks. Also, the great thing about PC is, if you can't find an online session, single player is still a lot of fun, because the AI is much smarter and more intuitive. I'll take the quality over the quantity any day. :)

I picked at it about 6 hours total.... Im not totally lost but i still have much to catch up on... the stuttering was even in the mouse pointer... It really got on my nerves because the V2 wheel was making the PC crash so i couldn't even Play Pcars... i tried to uninstall and re install the fanatec driver and it just would not let me plus R3E stuttered the most but Pcars,Dirt rally,AC all had micro stuttering from the update... R3E was just un driveable though.
it was No Biggie i don't have anything on that PC its just for gaming... it was all delete and re download...i don't even post from it...I still have my older PC that cant handle Pcars right next to me...thats where i do all my biz and such this one would be a head Ache if i had to wipe it!!!
Im Learning Im Learning...Im Not Totally Lost but still the Mid tier learning Curve sucks Too!!!
Id rather just spend my time enjoying what i know works than to pick over MS shoddy update... I think they knew it was buggy thats why they gave away the free forza Apex to entice people to get it.... I shoulda let it be and not been greedy for a New driving game...LOL
Totally off topic but did anyone see the new ken block video? It was filmed about 10 minutes from where I live. I have no idea why they picked here of all places except maybe the old ford stamping plant is here but still pretty cool.

Morpwr - You may already know this, but I just stumbled across it this morning, so I'd thought I'd share.
On the GT Omega Art, the seat base has three height positions (four if you drop it all the way). But you can actually set them on an angle, with the rear blots a notch or two lower than the front (or vice-versa). I had been setting them level, because I never even thought about trying it at an angle. I ended up with the front a notch higher than the back, and it feels a lot better than when they were level. Don't know it never occurred to me before. :)
