Well you guys pushed me over the edge. I'm now a pc convert. lol That's if everything shows up and I get it put together this weekend without any issues.lol After seeing the difference in ac between console and pc I just couldn't justify buying another console for slightly better graphics. Sony you lost me with this one. I went all out asus maximus hero board ,1080 graphics card,32gb g.skill, you get the idea. Cant wait to see what pcars and ac looks and plays like on pc!
Now, you need to give us your steam id, we should race sometimes!
Congrats Mate , awesome , just hope you've already got a UHD TV/Monitor because if you haven't that will be your next big purchase .
You are going to love it , but i suggest before it all arrives and gets build, go outside and get some sunshine and spend alittle time with your loved one's because after it's built you wont be spending anytime with either .lol
Enjoy.
Yeah I know. I have to recover from this first.lol

I definitely will. Just hope you guys don't mind all my questions. I'm definitely a noob on pc.lol I'm sure ill pick it up quick but ive never had a gaming pc before.
Thanks to all you guys on here for pushing me to do this. Haiden, grimey, big dad, I probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for you guys saying how good it was. There is a reason this forum is so popular. You can pretty much trust everyone on here when they tell you something. Really looking forward to seeing you guys on pc!!!!

Nice! That's a good board. I got the G.Skill RAM, as well. Yeah, I know 16GB is good enough for gaming, but RAM is cheap and 32GB just means I've got the space to load whatever I'm running.
You'll like the look of them, for sure. But the feel will really shock you. I'm telling you, it so much more nuanced/detailed.
Yeah I know. I have to recover from this first.lol
Nah... Just do it while you're still numb from the shock. :)

That was kind of what I figured. All the high end builds looked similar to yours so that's basically what I did. For a lot less money then a pre built one. Anything with the specs of mine where well over 3000 dollars. Cant wait to try it.

Lol you know I probably will. Ive been looking at 4k tvs already. Ill probably order the brackets for the gt omega and then figure that out so I can do it right. Just haven't decided on a size. 55 Inch seems pretty reasonable that close.

Nothing to even figure out, man. The single mount that slide into the rig frame takes all of three minutes to assemble. As long as the TV has VESA mount patterns/holes, you're fine. Four simple screws and my 55" was fixed and ready to go.
I ordered my mount the weekend before I was planning to buy the TV. It came that Thursday.
The 55" is awesome at that distance. I have a realistic FOV, and the wheel lines up perfectly with the dashboard. I can now use my tablets to display other information, because the car's dashboard/motec is visible through the GT style rims and above the Formula rim, just like a real car. :)
The only thing you're going to want to do is make sure the TV can be set to low brightness. Otherwise, that might cause eye strain, because mounted on the GT Omega, it will only be about 26" from your face. Some TVs are still fairly bright even on the lowest setting. I got mine from Best Buy, because I know they have a hassle free return policy, just in case I needed it. :)

Not many other choices in buffalo then best buy. Probably get a sony again as I like the picture.

PS4 System Update 4.0 !
Do you guys notice anything different with FFB ?
Gonna try it out when I get in from work.
So far I have had to lower Tire Force to 35 with current settings to do a lap at Nordscliefe with Stanceworks BMW for internal fan not to come on with Thrustmaster T300 Servo Base on PS4.
I've just loaded up Pcars and firstly, the wheel was very heavy trying to calibrate it when it was much easier before update. In race the wheel is now feeling noticably heavier when turning and a distinct lack of road feel now. Very numb! I've not been on the game for a while bit something feels very off. Probably need Morpwr's input here or another PS4 user with same wheel. Something is definitely not right

No going back now.lol All the parts should be here by sunday . I'm waiting to see who is going to be the first to buy a true direct drive wheel. I'm really excited about the move to pc it opens up so many possibilities that just wouldn't have been possible on console.

After i got the PC i seriously thought about Accuforce...But when thomas/Fanatec said the he can already confirm that existing wheel Rims will work on their coming DD wheel's yup he said wheel's!!! makes No sense for me to switch brands and have to start all over again.... But soon as Fanatec drop the DD wheel I'm on it!!!
Exciting Times with all the PC converts... we must set up a race.
I have PC Fever Now!!! thats another can of worms opened up... I been Looking at Monitors but cant find large size IPS UHD monitors.... Large size Monitors they are just too dam expensive.

Poor us who stay on console !! :disgust: :-)
This morning I was looking web pages talking of Asus motherboards, NVidia Vcards, i5 vs i7 shipset... And I have 3 macs and 1 console at home ! Shame on you all, the PC transfuges ! A new world is coming, more expensive, with less time for going outside. No no no, I have to find a good reason not to do that ! Windows coming in my home... I'm F***** !

Not for me... The ffb is way too strong, with a kind of Mz grinding... pfff
AC is also concerned by the ffb problem since PS4 update . Only the grinding effect, and the wheel very strong in the menus, not while driving. I try to rebuild database for the second time... And if it's not fixed like that tomorrow morning I buy a PC !
After the rebuild of the console database, I plugged my T300 on windows (on mac) and reset the firmware. AC seems ok now. PCars no. Deleting again the game, with all my settings ? No, no, no !

Yep I got tired of deleting everything over and over. I was going to get the new ps but decided for what? Slightly better graphics on par with a low end pc. Sony limiting what I can do or use? I had enough and took the plunge. Ive had a wheel since the first gt came out so I'm not going to stop playing any time soon. I really think part of the problem is these new games are just asking too much of the ps4 and other then graphically better that isn't going to change much with the new one.

That's a huge plus. You have more options across the board--sims titles, hardware, and companion apps. I just found out Crew Chief has a PC version that works with almost every sim title. The spotter is way more accurate on PC, and the push to talk/command actually works much better. With this, I think I'm ready to drop all the HUD widgets, and just drive with a clean screen. I can ask the Crew Chief about brake and tire temps, the gap ahead and behind, and my own times. The name database is also up-to-date, so he calls AI drivers by name. It's much better than the title specific console version.
Did you see the new curved monitors. Looks like you could use 2 instead of 3.
I totally thought of that. I saw a guy using two BenQ 35s and thought... Hmmm... that might be easier a triple setup. The only downside is, you'd have to stretch the view, instead of using the triple screen support. Not a big deal in PCars, though, because it doesn't have real triple support.

I agree. Consoles have improved tremendously, but they still lag far behind PCs. It's not a big deal for things like shooters and other games. But for sim racing and games that are running lots of physics-like calculations, PCs are just better equipped to handle it, and also more open and scalable, which is extremely important for sim racing, unlike shooters and other genres.

It's definitely a poor effort from Sony, updating your console shouldn't be corrupting a peripheral or the settings within a game! I'm going to play some more on Pcars today, hopefully I'm not just thinking my FFB is ok when really it isn't and it's just because I've not played on it for a while. A PC really is looking more and more appealing.
So did anyone try out ps4 update 4.00 ? Did it kill Fanatec compatibility with titles that worked previously ? Probably already discussed but i may have missed it .
Mirrors Edge Catalyst is on Origin for $20aud (half price) for anyone who hasn't already got it .

Well something is definitely different after the console update. Even after the database rebuild. Heavier wheel and does feel like the ffb has dulled. I've just settled on a reduced master ffb for time being. Flipping hell Sony!

Are we the two last people playing this game on console ? Or the only ones being affected by this console update ? I cannot see any other thread talking of this...
@RobboCod : did you delete the game and start from scratch ? I'm still waiting a little to do that.

We might be the last on this forum lol! If I wasn't having alot of work done to the house I probably would've jumped ship already. I haven't deleted my game I'd rather not go that far or have to. Upto now I have rebuilt the database, reset the ffb settings and re input them (globals) and the car I was using I reset the settings for it too. Also reduced my ffb from 68 to 63 for the moment.

It's not working... I spend one more hour to find a good ffb, and if not I jump on AC or Dirt. Fed up with the couple PS4/PCars
EDIT : Ok, it was not so long ;-) As you I run morpwr's settings, with minor tweaks. I lowered the main ffb from 72 to 65, and the wheel sensitivity from 60 to 40. Now I have an acceptable ffb, and my laptimes are correct. I'm now comparing JS's last files with previous ones... This game is a tweak game.

For me, as the issue comes from sony and not PCars, the only parameters to tweak are those who have something to do with the control of the wheel by the console, as global ffb, dead zone removal (?), gain, wheel sensitivity, menu spring... I play with that now, using JS's last classic settings. I'm back to the Ruf on Glen short ! ;-)

now that I'm going to have a pc it will be interesting to see what it feels like compared to the console version.

Yeah... I'd love to test the difference, but I've got my pedal connected via USB. I'd have to unmount the base to change it. That's one thing I hate about the CSW-v2, the connection ports aren't in a good place. Once you mount it, they are basically untouchable.

Don't know what kind of utility software your board came with, but if you can, make sure you setup a custom fan curve for you GPU. 1080s have a threshold of 83 degress. When they hit that, they throttle down the clock speed a bit. By default, the fan will allow the GPU to reach 83 degree, before it goes to 100% RPM speed. But with utility software, you can create a custom curve and have it start ramping up the RPMs, much sooner. I have mine set to work between 40% and 100% between 40 and 75 degrees. That basically keeps it at around 65 degrees, even under heavy load. The default curve seems to lets too much heat build up before it starts spinning the fans, which is why the temp reaches 83.

I just use MSI Afterburner and set a custom fan curve. The MSI software seems a bit more comprehensive than my cards software.
With Mirrors Edge, it's the only game I've got that looks about the same at 1080p as 4k. Even maxed out on Hyper settings @1080p to high settings @4k the only real difference is the frame rate. So I've actually settled on Hyper @1080p@60fps instead of 4k high @30fps, vsync for both.
Every other game I've got jumping to 4k makes a huge difference.
Now i know I'm serious about this pc gaming i think a CSL wheel will be my next purchase so by the time pCars 2 comes i should be sorted.
What's the ETA for Project CARS 2 ? That should ve awesome.

Im getting all My settings Right since I got Rid of that Windows anniversary update...I noticed more than a few settings that were Not optimized during the PC build.
No Over Clocking yet but with these Nubers i dont Need to OC.... At least Not Now... My stock GPU Mem Clock is16xx but it stays 19xx to 2xxx both cards

Yeah those numbers look pretty freaking awesome(who needs to overclock when your getting 170fps in 4K) so much so i'm thinking of upping to the 1070 , found them in my area for $569 and a mate will buy my 1060 for $300 .That means i loose $129 on my card .

This is Everything Maxed as High as it will go... I cant Drive with these settings though... Pic is Too Sharp/Crisp and Causes Eye Fatigue/Strain... also makes parts of the Screen seem Hyper Bright... My usual Settings are the First pic...
Ultra Shadow, Ultra Reflections and Blur are Huge GPU Hogs with Little to No Benefit... You barely Notice Car Shadows, Reflections while driving... the Blur is a GPU Hog also but thats take it or Leave it... Me im Not watching how Detailed the trees are when i Fly by...LOL... I set it to Medium looks Most Natural like that IMO.
I posted those pics from my phone... Im on the PC Now and im checking out the Pic with the BM 20,000+... Im looking at the Crowd... Not bad resolution considering its a Picture i took of the TV screen with My phone!!! and Some settings were set to just High and Not ultra!!! the crowd has nice detail to it and that's a pic of the screen Not direct capture.

Perfect! That's what I used, and it's very easy to setup a custom curve. Heat is a performance killer. Cool is king. :)
I was going to take a look at it on 1080 to see the difference. It's running around 45-50 on Hyper @t 4K with a 90% FOV, so I might just leave it. But I'll test the difference.
Do what you want on the cards, but I honestly think SLI is for multi-monitor setups and/or pushing 4K at higher refresh rates (i.e. to PC monitors that operate above 120 hz). Pushing a 4K television, only capable of 60hz, you don't need two cards.
Check out this thread, and read some of the comments. There are others just like it all over the net. Not the professional/big review sites that get and depend on free product, but real people and experienced gamers talking.
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/2i6b5u/are_the_problems_with_sli_really_that_bad/
Some of the more honest comments from that thread, at IMO...
"My experience is SLI "in the future" rarely happens. Unless you're doing multi-monitor, or 4k, there's not very much need for two of either of these cards. So, it may be the best long term strategy to buy the best single card now, and by the time you need more power there will be another single card that will be worth ditching this one for."
"I agree with this 100%. When I got my GTX 580 I thought "I'll just get one for now" and then realized I probably would never get second one unless I upgraded my monitor (1080p 60Hz currently). My PSU is only 650W as well which I did to keep myself from wasting money on a second GPU I didn't need :P"
"If you have a 120Hz+ monitor, you would want 980's in SLI @ 1440p to get the most out of your monitor."
If you search the web, you'll find a lot of people saying SLI works well and they get more fps, and that's it's great for 120Hz+ gaming or multi-screen setups. What you won't find, though, is too may people recommending SLI for 60hz gameplay.
Think about that before you spend. I also think that one guy is right. You'd need to upgrade your PSU as well to run an SLI setup. I have nothing against SLI setups. They just aren't for 60Hz gaming.
Project Cars (no storms) @60Hz - you can get 60 fps
Assetto Corsa @ 60Hz - you can get 60 fps
Race Room @ 60Hhz - you can get 60 fps.
The only time you can't get 60 fps is running PCars in heavy rain conditions, where the fps drops to 40-55, depending on your card. So, if you think it's worth the cash to get 10-20 additional frames for conditions you probably only race in less than 10% of the time, then by all means, go for it. :)
Here's another from a good PC support/help site. Swap out 1080p/60Hz for 4K/60Hz, and 900 series for 1000 series, and it's the exact same logic.

"If you only use a 1080/60p screen, then a second GTX 980M would not be worth the price (and battery life). Having that much graphics power would only be useful for driving higher refresh rates or resolutions like 144hz at 1080p or 60hz 1440p."
Again, I'm not debating that SLI isn't faster or better than a single card. It's just not something I would, or think should, ever be recommend for 60Hz gaming.

So, it may be the best long term strategy to buy the best single card now, and by the time you need more power there will be another single card that will be worth ditching this one for."

I know everything you wrote and agree but my card gets 4k@60 now in AC , R3E ,AMS but for the first person shooters it is @30 and it just gets me a bit .
And the GTX 1080 is over a grand here in Australia .GTX 1070 is $570 (one card only ). Not going for SLI just a bit more fps @ 4k .
I will have to get the upgraded Fanatec before i do anything drastic with the GPU situation , but i'm just thinking out loud atm.
Might even look at the new AMD next year .Vega 10. Looks epic .16GB Vram . It'll probably be over a grand also .lol
I think i should stop looking at stuff and just enjoy my new pc but you know how it is "More is never enough" . And "Its only money".

The World is My Oyster... I Shall Not Want!!! LOL LOL LOL!!!! Its all about Choices...1 screen, 3 screens??? VR!!! what ever i choose I'm ready and I wont have to upgrade the PC again for a few years... I say Build it Right the First time for the here and Now... Later on you may be broke...LOL... or later when you want to Go 3x screen, Vr etc at max quality you will end up adding a second card anyway.
IMO for the Price Diff 25 to 28% more than 1 1080 the performance gains were well worth it even just to do single screen 4k... Its not just about higher FPS i get to Run Higher settings and maintain Higher FPS that's where the SLI Shines its More Detail and higher Constant FPS.
The same Rule of thumb will apply when i go VR SLI = Higher settings Better detail... which is My ultimate end Goal... Today a Single UHD Curved screen... Tomorrow VR!!! keep that in Mind when your debating SLI or Not to SLI...Whats the ultimate end Goal???... For a few Pennys More im Ready and can take any upgrade path that i choose No PC upgrade Needed... Vr seems to be the way i want to go...large Monitors are just too expensive and 3 screen set up takes up too much space.

Actually, I do keep that in mind (it's kind of ingrained in me at this point). That's why I don't recommend SLI for 60Hz setups. And, I'm very interested in VR. That's why I got a 1080. If you're interested in VR, then I'm not sure what your logic was in going with the 1070. As there are many PC advisories that state...
"Despite its high price, the GTX 1080 might still provide to be a fantastic value for money card for VR, given its better architecture over Maxwell cards, we see it being the king of VR. Meanwhile, we anticipate gamer who run full-HD or below to be choosing the GTX 1060 due to its much cheaper pricepoint. If however, you're not into VR, then the GTX 1070 and 1060 will suffice for a vast majority of games."

Edit: I did my research, and I also manage an external IT company that's full of people with expertise in just about every area of computing. They are far more knowledgeable than you or I will ever be, because it's their profession, and they've actually worked with a wide variety of configurations, from initial implementation to replacement. They know how to maximize the value of a dollar and what upgrade paths are the most efficient. It actually takes a lot focus and brainpower for me to even stay with them in some discussions...LOL

Big Dad did you ever get you AC menu problem straight??? i pretty sure i know the cause... i had that problem before and got rid of it... I can Now replicate it and make it go away at will..... Its simple but hard to describe.... Basically the menu for AC is 1080p when the Track Map loads up its 3840 x 2160p when you go back to the menu it reverts back to 1080p unless you have your GPU set to 3840 x 2160 then it upscales the menu to that res from 1080p... but that gives you small print and small menu boxes that will flicker.... there is a order that must be followed when changing your GPU Res lower...You must lower the Display settings first then the GPU settings and opposite when raising display settings GPU first the display...if this order is not followed then some apps will be outta wack until you reset the GPU and Follow the order correctly... It Really does Not matter where you have the GPU set because even though i have mine set to 1080p all games when i load them will load according to what i have them set to Run at though the game settings....
All the Menu screens for AC are treated like a desk top images... This can be seen by using shadow play... if you set Shadow play to Not Record your desk top you will see that the record Icon will not appear on the screen while you are in the menu section but it will appear as soon as you launch the event also the res will change from 1920 x 1080 to 3840 x 2160..... now Pcars,R3E, dirt rally is a diff story the Menu all load up in UHD and are treated as part of Game play so the Shadow play rec icon is present soon as game loads up not just once a track is loaded like it does in AC. Yup useless info but relevant none the less... i figured this out as i was setting PC back up after the reset from windows anniversary update.... LOL The geek in me always tweeking with something.... i was going to make a video but i have shadow play set not to record desk top... i can make 1 if you like so you can see what im talking about

Im Working on that i do realize that im under using the 1070 SLI performance wise... Larger Size Monitors are Too Expensive and VR Tec is Not perfected yet...Hopefully in 6 months they will get VR Stable to the point its Much better than it is Now and i can utilize the Full power that the 1070 SLI offers... But as it is Now the 10 series cards are Safe fir the Next 3 to 5yrs.... Hopefully.

Concerning the console ffb issue after Sony update 4
I found a kind of workaround, inspired by what you have to do when you need good ffb and have a PS4, a T300 and Dirt Rally ; Simply start the console with the wheel on PS3 position. launch PCArs with the gamepad. The wheel calibrates. Drive once (ffb terrible). Shut down all, disconnect cable. Put the selector on the wheel to PS4 position. Start normally the console and the game. Enjoy ! ;-)
Not wanting to get drawn into this debate but if VR is of interest to you SLI does not currently work in any VR games.
You don't say? Well that complicates things. At least for some people.

LOL The geek in me always tweeking with something.... i was going to make a video but i have shadow play set not to record desk top... i can make 1 if you like so you can see what im talking about
Your right Mate , it's the resolution . The only way to fix it is to set the Windows resolution to 1080p . When i do that it sets the GPU res to 1080p also . I have been using the ignore windows display scale (DPI) setting to make the menu larger in 3840x2160 res but when i make the menu small again the flicker is gone .
Talk me through the way you suggest to set it please . It is really shitty having it in 1080p.

First set the font Scaling down to 100% then set the Display to 1080p...It will tell you that changes wont take effect until you log out...Log out ... when you Log back in set the GPU to 1080p and restart the PC.... setting GPU to 1080p makes no diff because your going to set AC to Play in 3840 x 2160... for some reason probably due to Game programming the AC Menu loads up in 1080p but when you load a track it will load the Track in UHD 3840 x 2160....This only happens with AC that it Loads the menu in 1080p PCars, R3E, Dirt Rally Load up according to the the res you have the game set to play in...Maybe AC was Not native UHD??? Maybe that was added in??? AC has been out for a while so i dunno i just know how to Fix the menu prob.... I been over here geekin more than i been playing... I don't like when stuff goes down and i dont know how to get it back up so i been spending most of my time just Getting back up to speed with the PC tec... I been on console waaay tooo long.
its just a matter of getting the config right in the right order... PC's are stupid No common sense if you change the display to a res higer than your GPU it wont compensate... yes your GPU will Change res but some where it gets stuck because you wont get that you have to log out to set the changes message... Boom instant problem!!! it wont crash but it will load the res wrong and that shows with AC....Now you can leave the GPU at UHD res but you first must follow the same instructions i listed above but after you set the GPU to 1080p and restart the PC on your second log in Now you must Go back Change the GPU to 3840 x 2160 then Change the Display to 3840 x 2160 then set the Scaling to 200% this will give you the same size desk icons/Internet fonts as 1080p settings... then Log out again restart the PC and your good to go.
setting GPU to 3840 x 2160 you will still have the small menu in AC because its being upscaled to UHD... Nothing i found that you can do about that....I just leave my desk top at 1080p because everything internet, Games, youtube they load up only at the res that they are set by the source program to load at..EX AC menus are set at the source to load at 1080p that's why the Boxes and Print is sooo Small when it upscales to UHD... So it makes No diff. Solution Leave desk top res to 1080p
test it Leave desk top and GPU at 1080p, set AC to 3840 x 2160 Test it check the res while your at the menu it will say 1080p and you will have full size menu boxes and print and no more Menu glitching... Load a track you check the res once the track loads it will load in UHD.
there is also another benefit to setting desk top to 1080p it allows you to set the colors to 12bit and set the color range from limited to Full.... Not only games, Programs that are set to allow 12bit and full range color will benefit... that should be most current games though... if the program game will not use it the PC just uses 8bit and you never know anything about it other than 1 game may have more dynamic color range than another.
Edit: Remember it makes No Diff what your desk top is set to!!! as long as you have the Games set to Run in UHD thats what they will do... Its like watching a 720p movie on a 1080p TV the Movie will play according to the res its set to play in and your TV will switch accordingly.

No Debates here...makes No diff to me...SLI NO SLI the point is i have it for when they get the tec VR right... thats why i say when they get the tec right i will go VR... But VR with 1 1070 will be fine also.

Okay Thanks for this. I will have to save this page for a bit later as my brain will not comprehend this at the moment, lol. To early for it ti wake up.
I really want my desktop in uhd though.
I just set windows and gpu to 1080p and my tv still says 3840x2160? But it is definitely at a liwer resolution than when windows and gpu are set to uhd.
Grimey , You Frucking Ledgend , It's fixed .Fixed i tell ya .
Set both to 1080p and reset , then set gpu to 3840x2160 and reset now go to windows and it is already back to 3840x2160 so i just upt the scale to 200 and reset went to AC and hit the DPI option in menu and reset and menu is big and not flickering and everything looks crisp and smooth again .
Thank You .
You now shouldn't see me here for a bit because now i can game happily.

yup so you see what im saying the settings are wacked out!!! you have to follow the step to get it back in order... i figured out how to make it happen at will and Fix it too... I dunno if its a Bug or a gltch but unless you follow a certain order things get outta wack.
you have to power cycle the whole system including TV...its its just a order that you have to do it in so things get back to straight... only way i found to solve the issue... remember when you changed the scaling it tells you to sign out before the settings take effect... it seems if you do it in the wrong order the settings still save just not in a correct way... it just happens that AC menu brings the issue to light with the flickering screen and stuff... took Me a few days to really figure out what was causing it... i went through all the settings looking for a way to reset things with No success... But if you follow the proper order you can untangle the mess and get it back to proper order...Once you get it right you can leave your desk top to UHD settings but you will have the small print and menu boxes on the AC dash screen.... Seems wacky but it works... if you lowerd the GPU to 1080p before Lowering the desk top to 1080p it gets outta wack.. dont ask why idunno it just does...

There are more drivers to install than just the ones for the GPU on a new PC (MB chipset, LAN, audio, etc.)...

That's awesome! All your hardware should have come with discs. If you don't have an optical drive, then you'll have to download them. Also, keep in mind, just because a device is working, doesn't mean it's using the correct driver. Windows may have detected it and installed a generic or outdated driver.
Thanks lol

Just finishing installing and updating drivers as we speak. If I can do this anyone can.lol But honestly the hardest part was stupid trouble shooting and the internet is a wonderful thing for that.

Get that sim load up, man. Make sure you try PCars first with your exact same settings from console. That way you can totally feel the comparative difference.
Also, if your wheel/pedals aren't working, don't freak out. You may have to manually assign them in the Edit Assignment/Mapping menu. For some reason PCars and AC don't get right sometimes. Might just be a Fanatec thing, though.
Kind of feels like you signed a new contract with a different team, right? Enjoy your new drive. :victorious:

I really wanted to do that tonight but ill probably have to wait till tomorrow. Worked on it most of yesterday and most of tonight when I got home from work. Spent a lot of time trying to be careful and keep everything neat. I'm beat.lol I'm really surprised it was as easy as it was(once I got over the stress of the first pc build) other than two missed plugs. I missed the atx one at the top of the board on the first try(easy to miss behind the fans) and just that one fan connector in the wrong spot. I'm sure I could do it a lot faster next time.I was looking on steam though for racing games ac and pcars obviously but what else is good?

I'd say Race Room Racing Experience (R3E). Don't let the model scare you. You have to buy cars and tracks, but if you purchase them in-game, you can get a lot for about $60. It's easier to buy the car packs, too instead of individual cars. That way you get more cars of the same class to load the grid. I got DTM, GT2, GT3, P1, F2 and the European Track pack, plus something else. I think I spent about $65 all together. When you buy them in game, it discounts your purchases if you already have some of the tracks or cars. If you buy them directly through Steam, you won't get that automatic discounting.
Automobilista (AMS) is another that's suppose to be good. The physics model and track evolution seem really nice, but the graphics put me off a bit. If I didn't already have three sims that I was enjoying, I'd probably go ahead and get it. But I figured I'd wait until I start feeling an itch for something new. I think three sims will be more than enough to get you started, because even PCars is going to feel like a new game, and you'll be plenty busy enjoying the new feel. :)
Basically, I feel like you haven't even really played AC yet. Because the console version doesn't sound anything like the PC version. You'll be plenty surprised when you try that one. :)

RaceRoom Racing (R3E) is a definite. You can buy 1 car from a certain pack and all the others are on the grid at race start also. You can get a full selection of cars and tracks for not to much. Just make sure to buy from in game.
Graphically i think it is better than AC if you can look past the lack of smoke in mirrors and the lower reflection refresh rate.
Last night i was playing AC for a couple of hours(thought i was having fun) then at the end thought i might have a couple of laps of R3E. Man, straight away thought, why wasn't i playing this instead, felt like a few hours wasted in AC.
I've tried to get going in AMS and set it up, but just cant get into it. FFB is great but something just isn't right with the camera and the way it moves.

I have tried some others from other people but these are still my personal favorite , just set minimum force for your wheel ,probably about 2-3 i reckon.
All the bottom settings (FFB effect settings) are for canned effects and i think they detract from the feel .
General FFB Settings :
FFB -on
Inverted FFB /on
FFB Intensity /100
Smoothing /15
FFB Spring /0
FFB Damper /0
Steering Force Settings :
Steering Force intensity/80
FFB Minimum Force -Wheel specific /15 Mine
understeer /60
Vertical Load /70
lateral Force /70
Steering Rack /100
FFB Effect settings :
All /0
Then in garage /pits /car settings adjust FFB multiplier per car.

I wondered about that, but wasn't sure. Given the model, it makes sense that the other skins and cars are there, you just don't have them.
I agree about R3E, too. I like AC, but there's something about R3E that really works for me. It's been my go-to for a while now. Always fun.

I bought the Newest DTM Pack.... Problem is I have too Much to Race Now and Not Enought Time!!! LOL.
Since I Ripped the Anniversary update out of the PC Everything is Running Beautiful... I Went Back over the weekend and Did a Total Reinstal From the Windows Disk!!! I even Reinstakled the Mobo drivers from the disk again....theres alotta stuff that they didnt install from the Mobi Disk at Micro Center... There are a Few Tools that are usefull...1 is the Mobo Driver update Checker just push a button and it checks for Mobi driver updates but wont instal unless you want it... All the MSI OC Gaming apps and Tools Etc. I only intalled the 1s that i wanted and it takes you right to the MSI web site to down load what you want... No searching the Mobo tool already Knows tour PC config so it gets exactly the versiin you Need.

Man, I get you there, the list keeps getting longer. If it was upto me we'd be living in a house with bare walls but I'd have an epic gaming room haha! In all seriousness though, I know everyone here has built there own but I've heard and seen some good things about the Alienware Alpha with the core i5 and the 4gb graphics card. Has anyone had any experience with this mini pc?

Honestly, I think you'd be better off with something else. The specs on that are already pretty low for sim racing, and the mini case will probably make your upgrade path a little difficult. For the same price, you could get a more scalable PC that will last longer. But, personally, I think you'd be better off putting that cash toward a new build, with a better GPU. For just a couple hundred more, you could have a pretty decent sim machine.
I think Alienware lost a lot of it's mojo when Dell bought them. They used to be niche. Now they're basically just slightly more powerful Dells in prettier cases. :(

Appreciate the input, it's been said before by a friend about the Alphas. I think the convenience of it and handy size is appealing. One of those is about 650GBP. So I'd probably be looking at around 800-900 GBP for a reasonably next level machine. There are a few good PC building sites UK based luckily

Even if you built your own for 650GBP, you'd be better off. IMO, that case and Mobo is what's really going to hurt you in the long run. You'll be ready to upgrade, but find yourself short slots and room inside the box.

I'm going to get a sample build going on PC specialist or some similar site and see what I'm looking at cash wise. I might post the spec on here when I'm done for component choice opinions

I wouldnt do the Alienware if i were you... They are Now No better than a Steam machin3....

Other than to do basic 1080p gaming i would stay away from the Alienware Now they were good but now its just Hype living of a out dated reputation...the bottom tier steam machine is the Only 1 worth considering for basic 1080p Gaming... other than that the higher end steam machines you might as well build a PC

Guess what was waiting for Me when i got Home from work??? Windows Anniversry update!!! Fu*k!!! Its only Screwing up R3E... I may just leave it and Not Play R3E for a Bit... MS knows the update is BS!!! So why are they still Forcing it??? Good thing i Backed up the PC Right away after i got it sorted... I can Rip the update out Again by doing a Fresh instal from the windows disk again and just Restore. All My Settings from the HDD Back up:yes:
Hmmm So Now the Real Question is who Needs to Fix or update their Stuff... MS or R3E??? Problem is only affecting R3E....I Noticed 1 thing all the Games that support SLI are Not affected Pcars, AC, Dirt Rally Sport ... R3E has No SLI support and its the only 1 affected.... Hmmm.... Yes i diabled SLI and R3E Stuttering Still persist ... All other Games and all other settings seem to be Normal.... So question is who Needs a patch to fix things Windows or R3E??? Hmmm

I looked at those but all the prebuilt pcs I found unless they where 3000 plus skimped somewhere else big time to keep price down. Honestly id just build it yourself. Yes its intimidating at first but ive learned a lot and most problems you can google and the answer usually comes right up from toms hardware. I agree with Haiden too stay away from the small cases besides not cooling as well it will be much harder to work on. Especially if you have big hands. Even with the case I have some stuff is difficult to get to like the plugs at the top of the board.
Well one more issue to figure out. No sound:mad: But I did get a steam account and got my first game. Even in 1080p ac looks immensely better then on ps4. I still have a lot of adjusting to do with all the extra settings we don't have on consoles but I'm pretty excited. Especially after spending 2 hours trying to figure out why the hdd didn't show up but did under disc management. Yes I didn't know you had to format it so you could assign a letter to it. Took like two seconds once I figured that out. I'm getting there. Steam name is morpwr69.

A long time has passed since I last had my head in a pc. Probably about 15 years. I never built one from scratch just upgraded it. That was when a Graphics card that had 128mb was top end lol! Like you say it's a good learning experience and would probably be a fun project knowing the end result

Also, if you haven't already, just double check to make sure Windows assigned the right device as the default sound device.

You really should check out the driver website of you MB manufacturer mate.
I guess it's this one? https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/
There are many drivers available that you should install: Chipset, Audio, (Integrated) GPU, LAN, USB 3.0, SATA Controller
Although Windows provides many generic drivers I recommend to install those provided by the manufacturer.

The only thing you shouldn't install with it is Steam because it always installs it in the default folder (C:\Program Files).

Has any 1 heard about a Fix or found a Solution for the Windows Anniversary update Glitching problem???
MS keeps pushing the update as is... Seems the only way to avoid it is to Not update the PC with windows Anniversary so far....Its Nothing Good in there anyway.. Not for Me at least... MS Is Nosey they trying to take over yours Mines Every 1's personal PC.
If i access My XB1 account from My PC it automatically uses that info and Creates a Lock Screen Pass word that i Have to Log into just to wake My PC up...puts My Email and Such on the desk top and I didnt ask it to do that... Yes i figured out how to stop it from doing that by making My Log in account Local only... its just Doing to Much!!! They call it intuitive i call it intrusive!!! Its a machine i only want it to do what i asknit to do!!! MS FOH WTBS!!!
I bet its Something Simple...
Really??? check this out... HmmmWhat exactly do they mean by down load from other PC's on the Internet??? Really as in Random PC's on the internet...MS and your Local internet is Clearly identified in the first sentence... so other PC's on the internet is not referring to either then... I suggest going through the settings its full of back doors!!!

Remember, Windows is the for home and business users. The Local option is really for enterprise level deployments. A larger company with hundreds of machines can benefit from that, having stations pull the updates from other local machines, instead of them all sucking up bandwidth pulling them from the Internet. When you have a larger network of users, bandwidth becomes a critical issue. To be honest, I'm not really sure why someone would choose the Internet option. But, again, Windows is a global product. There are still areas in the world, far more than you think, with crappy (and I mean terrible) Internet connections. Allowing the computer to pull packets from multiple sources could be the difference between a 12 hour download and an hour download for some people. Of course, Windows does verify the packets, so it's not as unsecure as it seems. It just seems strange, because we live in First World countries where high-speed Internet is pretty ubiquitous.
Edit: The local option could be useful for home users too. If you have a few PCs in the house, you only have to pull from the Internet once, so the fam can keep watching Netflix on the smart TV, while the other PCs pull the update from the first to download it.

I may have been a bit rash jumping away from Automobilista . Turns out my biggest problem was wrong FOV , i needed 36 FOV which seemed really narrow at first but after 1hr playing it's perfect and now 5 hrs later i think the cars handle better than all else i've got and the FFB is second to none .
Now i definitely recommend the $30aud to buy this "Sim" and i say "Sim" because i think this really is a Sim and if you don't have it in your Library your not into Sims.lol

I did that last night trying to figure out the sound issue. Which I did finally get. It wasn't the pc it was the stupid surround that for some ungodly reason only uses the digital optical port for one totally useless setting. Makes no sense but that's how it worked . I finally dug up the manual for the surround after trying head phones and everything worked as it should. So one set of pc speakers and I was up and running. Ac sounds awesome on pc not even remotely close to the ps4 version. Still playing with all the extra setting but feels better then the ps4 version too already. Ok So i finally found the Solution tonthe unwanted OS update!!! After serching through the settings i found a "Defer" Check box!!! What it does is it Will Not Down Load Major OS updates unless its a Manditory update.... It will Still update and download all Security, Performance etc updates as usual....But you will Not be forced to download Major uodates like windows Anniversary until it becomes the Standard and your PC wont run or perform without it:yes:
It was Burried in Plain Sight!!! While Reading through the description it says Not all Versions of windows 10 will have it... So i wonder was it there to begin with and i over looked it or did it add in during 1 of the pre install updates because i did 2x fresh installs??? Dunno but im happy i found it.
Also While Running the MSI disk i found Many useful tools 1 of which is a automatic Bios/Driver updater for the Mobo... Seems that My Bios and Drivers Needed updating as well... Maybe this is why the Anniversary update wouldnt set in right.... 2x i Tried it No Good.... Not trying it again though.

Not sure you can really stop it in Win10. MS might eventually cave about it, but I think they're just tired of people blaming them for having a slow or crappy unsecure OS, when the real reason they were hacked is because they haven't updated their machine in two years....LOL
You can disable automatic updates for hardware. That solves the biggest issue for people that have custom configs and/or high end builds.

Thats Not the Case with windows 10!!! It will down Load What it wants to and all you can do is Choose when to instal them....
If it were that simple they wouldnt have slipped that anniversary update on Me the 2nd time... You can also use "Winshow" but then you have to Read through all the updates and Hide/Block the 1's you dont want.

Thanks, man. I think I'll check it out this weekend. $30 is probably worth the track evolution alone, especially for a long race. Marbles on the outside, change everything. :) I also want F1 2016, but I'm gonna wait until Forza 6 gets Fanatec support, then decide whether or not to get F1 now, or wait until the price drops. Not that I think FM6 is better. I've just got a lot to keep me busy right now. No need to drop $60 on it now, when I'm already content with what I've got. :)

FYI: Nvidia released a new 1000 series driver today. It's quite possible it resolves the Win10 conflict some people are having. Just because it started after a Win update, doesn't always mean the Win update is the cause of the problem. And sometimes it's actually easier, and better, for device manufacturer to adjust their drivers, instead of MS changing the OS. :)

I think I got that last night. Its supposed to automatically optimize the settings for the games. There is a list of games it supports. I cant wait to see what this looks like in 4k even in 1080p it looks a lot better then it did on ps4. Ill probably have to wait a little bit for that though or I may wind up sleeping in the garage.lol

And sometimes it's actually easier, and better, for device manufacturer to adjust their drivers, instead of MS changing the OS. :)
I tried the New Driver Yesterday... i think the # is 372.90... it does Not Resolve the Issue...I Tested it and Adjusted Settings for 2 or so hours....Nope No Good.
It works Good Now that i have the system back to just Regular windows 10...More Testing is Needed though... the Best Driver i used soo far was 372.54.... Inhave Not had enough time with the 372.90 version to see if its better or Not.
For Me 372.54 is Crisper and Maintains Better FPS than 372. 70
For Me the "Defer" Check Box is the answer... I guess it does the same thing as "Winshow" but i dont have to go Tweeking through the update files.
I dont know if the "Defer" Box was there all along and i over looked it or it came in the windows Pre install uodate... That update said it wasnt Mandatory but if i Skipped it that i would Not be offered or able to get the updates contained within with Future updates... That a New Fresh install would be Needed...When i Noticed the Defer Box it said Not all versions of window will have the Defer option then went on to explain what the "Defer" Feature does...
The Bios/ FW checker tool on the MSI disk is Great!!!
There are Many Great tools on the Disk that were Not installed By MC...you should Check it out...There is a tool that does the 1 button OC from your Desk top without you having to boot the PC to Bios setting Page. Really Good tools you can Pick what you want and discard the rest...i like that there is a link right to the MSI web site down load center without having to pull the page uo and search... it knows your OC so it takes you directly to what you Need or Request.
Install the Nvidia Experience software. There's a game optimization page that lets you see the game's current settings, and the recommended optimal settings side by side, with the recommended changes highlighted. It's not always right though. It recommends using SMAA for PCars, but I find MSAA+FXAA works better. It's good to see the optimal recommendations, though. You just can't take them for granted.

You tested the new driver with Window10 Anniversary Update? I thought you reinstalled the old version of Windows10.
Yeah... all of the current drivers are on MSI's website. I don't have an optical drive. Thought about it, but just didn't see the point when everything's available for download. They just take up case space. Also, discs get outdated. The latest drivers are always on the website. Disc drivers are only as current as the date the disc was made. :)

Yes i tested it yesterday... When i got Home Tuesday i found windows anniversary had Slipped its self in the Automatic updates AGAIN!!! You can only Choose when to Install Not what to install unless you use "winshow" or just Skip all Major OS updates by Finding and Checking the Defer Box.....The Latter is what i have Done but i will use the Winshow to Check and Moniter what was Skipped vs what has been installed.
I Tested it and Double checked all settings yesterday... I made sure i had ran "Winsow" and Checked the Defer Box before doing another Fresh instal...They Really worked Hard to Hide and Limit your options with Forcing you to accept their Updates with windows 10!!!.... Windows 10 is Very intrusive... MS calls it intuitive... FOH.

I still have one computer in the house that has an optical. If I ever need to install something from disc, I can share the drive over the network. But It's been five years since I bought my first laptop without an optical (I'm on my second now), and I've only had to share the drive once to install a production suite I'd bought prior on disc. But the software was available as a download.
Also, if you really need an optical, you can buy a USB external for cheap. :)

Yeah it's always been there.
Thanks... I wish i had Known about it... I have been Searching the internet Many are Having the same prob with the Anniversary update that i was having... Many have just Rolled back to the prior windows 10 version Like I did and found that problems still exist because the update imbeds its self sooo deep into the OS.... I was searching the web for a solution to No Avail...With all the Tec Advice/ soulutions including "Winshow" its easy but complicated because you have to Check it and Know what you want to Hide vs what you Need to update (Time Consuming and Frustrating) I have Not come across a Post that simply says Check the "Defer" Box to avoid unwanted Major OS updates.... there are Many that still have Not found this option... Maybe you should Make a Stickyed Thread pointing this out on the Forum... It will be usefull info for those who dont want to get hit with the Anniversary update until its bug Free.
Shhhh... I did 2 fresh installs before i found a way to Avoid the Anniversary update.... I did fresh instal on Sunday and by Tuesday the update was Back!!! It didnt say Specificly what it was and it was a small File.. It said it was Security updates and Fixes to improove stability and performance... Next thing I know its Launching windows anniversary again:mad: Mad aint the word or a Good Description!!! I almost threw a 10lb Steel weight through the PC!!!:livid:
anyway its all sorted and Ran silky Smooth again last Night:yes: Windows Anniversary Had R3E playing like it was a Strobe light... FWIW R3E will Not do SLI and was Greatly affected.... Pcars,Dirt Rally, AC, Dead Space3 support SLI and Ran Very Smoothly with Little or No Notable performance Loss with Windows Anniversary update... Maybe that info Means Something Maybe that i lnfo Means Nothing but its worth Mentioning just to Keep Note of...It may proove to be relevant.
Dead Space3 Max Settings at 60FPS is Nice!!! makes it a Extra Really Creepy Game!!! I like Horror Survival!!!
My cat just did a backflip.
But can he do this? :)

Display Driver uninstaller (http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=node/103) is also pretty handy when you want to play with GPU drivers.

Big dad just go to the web site and find the drivers for your Video car...its petty straight forward and leads you through the choosing process... put in you GPU card model #, Put in your OS windows 10 64 or 32bit, it will automatically find the newest driver... Tell it to search all...it will give you a list, down load the GPU drivers you want, once downloaded i save them in a folder i named GPU drivers... they stay in there so you always have them...then you just Click on it to install the one you like best.
I'm trying 372.90 now, 372.70 i didn't like it... it wasn't Sharp/Crisp also the FPS was not as stable either as 372.54 sooo far that's the best 1.... i haven,t tested 372.90 enough yet to know if its better than 372.54 yet.
i thought it was just me... i havent seen any News about 372.70 really people are complaining about it??? good to know... maybe im Not Crazy after all:confused:

A Must read for Windows 10 users!!! its just really Good to be in the Know!!!
Very interesting!!! But even More interesting is i had the defer box yesterday but Its Gone Today!!!! I can more than likely get it to pop up by running the winsow tool...but why are they making it sooo dam hard to block unwanted updates because they are causing problems...now if a update bricks you PC they will Not pay to to fix or buy you a new 1... therefore they should not force unwanted updates!!! Check your PC do you have the Defer box??? I know its there i checked/Activated it yesterday... it must be a process to make it show its self because why is it Not just in plain sight???
I know i activated it so im not really gonna worry about it...and I dont want to go checking boxes to see if i can get it to show back up!!!
check your PC... do you see the defer option???
Have to check. I thought it was both.

Okay, I've only been in Automobilista for about 30 mins, but this game seems like a pain in the arse. I had it set to full sim, no manual clutch, and it was still up shifting for me. Took me 10 minutes to figure out there's a second setting--auto upshift or something like that. What???? LOL
And even after 30 minutes, I still can't find the FFB meter to see if it's clipping. IDK about this game. Compared to PCars, AC and R3E, it's a little overly complicated. And the menus/GUI was designed by an alien, because it's just annoyingly weird. I'm giving it another 30 minutes, and then I'm going back to something fun.

That's what got me for the first 15hrs, yep 15. Give it more than 40mins, we spent 1 year trying to get pCars to work as intended,.
There isn't a ffb meter. Just set it to 360 or 180 pure, set ffb level to preferred weight (mine is 85),leaving on wheel 100 and set the minimum to whatever the FCM tool said for your wheel deadzone(mine 14).seems to work great with nothing else,
But the other day something just clicked and i found the sweet spot for everything. Trust me, give it a but more time (unless time is limited, but generally there will be more tomorrow, lol).
It took me heaps to figure out how to turn abs off (stability control needs to be off) and you need to adjust the hud in the files. But I haven't had a shifting issue, just the steering lock alwasys at 450. Turns out the Fanatec driver keeps going back to 450?
But the last 10 hrs have been great and i can't wait to get back on it again.

IDK, man. I went ahead and got a refund. If I didn't already have three sims I really enjoy, maybe I'd spend the time trying to figure this one out. But they've either taken a different approach to FFB settings, or went ahead and released the game without creating a user friendly GUI for the controls. PCars, AC and R3E were all fun to play even before I got the FFB dialed in. AMS...not so mcuh. I just don't have the motivation to figure it out. I really like the idea of track evolution, but at this point, I just want to race. This one seems a little too niche for me. I'm curious to see how the franchise evolves, though.

I have been using the MS Anti Virus only for Years with No problem... Windows Defender is Really Good... Who better to Protect MS from Virus attacks than MS???
I have No plan to use additional Anti Virus....
MS bought out Little Giant Anti Virus/Spy ware company Years ago... It has Changed Names several times i forget the first Name it was called but Windows 1 care Now known as Windows Defender is a Full Anti Virus/Spy Ware Protection... IMO it is Enough.
I can go any where on the web and im always protected both PC's.
That does Not Mean you dont have to be carefull anout what you Click on...but if you do click the wrong thing Windows Defender will block, Quarenteen, Remove any virus/Spy ware and protect you right away.... Windows 1 Care/Windows Defender Has Been working Very Good for Me for Years.
Windows Defender Comes with Windows 10

On PC, it's highly dependent on the car/class and track. Especially if you get into the mods.

It's up to you. But, keep in mind... Most people get virus's from friends, not from the web. And viruses and trojans are only one issue. If you've got an Internet connection, network intrusions are another. But if you're not leaving your PC on all the time when idle, then intrusion isn't as big of a concern, I suppose.
Personally, I don't trust MS to secure my PCs, simply because they make the OS and it's baked in. That means any hacker with Windows has a copy to experiment with. :) This has been MS' problem since Windows95. It's not that Windows has crappy security. It's the fact that everyone has access to the OS that makes it vulnerable. MS includes it, because they learned--from years of experience--that average users weren't taking proper security precautions and also weren't buying any security software. IMO, Defender is just a basic layer of protection--MS' idea of something is better than nothing. Although, I admit, sometimes that's all you need.
I've been using Nortons for years. Everyone's got their own opinion about which vendor is best, but there's a reason most businesses, even the small ones, don't use the default Windows protection. Will it be good enough for most home users? Hard to say, because user habits dictate how much security you need. Some people are more careless than others. But personally, I just don't care to take the risk, because my personal computers are always online. Also, third-party programs aren't too expensive (and usually give you multiple seats with a license so you can install it on more than one machine, even mobile devices), and since security is their bread and butter, they are usually quicker to identify and respond to new threats. MS, not so much.
Also, a security program is only as good as it is up to date. I'm not sure, but if you turn off automatic Windows Updates (which is definitely best for gaming PCs), then I think that means your not getting security updates either. And that's obviously not a good thing, because Windows is constantly being updated to patch holes that have been discovered. So if you're using the native Defender, you're gonna have to remember to check for new updates on your own, and then pick and choose from the list which ones to apply. Otherwise, you get less secure over time. Can't defend against the latest threat if your scripts are three months old. :)
Another thing to consider is the security software's resource footprint. On average, most third-party programs run lighter than Windows Defender, consuming less resources.
Again, not advocating one method over the other, just providing a little information to make your own decision. :)

UHD is Great but 1080p 100+ FPS dont seem that Far Off Visually....it seems that the Higher FPS really Makes up for the missing Finer Detail... at least in Driving/Fast action Games... Games look ultra Smooth so even though your at a lower Resolution the Fluidity of Motion with Higher FPS Makes up the Diff for the Lack of Finer Detail... any 1 have any thoughts on this???

Its Screwing up My Fun time!!!...Id rather Defer Major OS updates and get it when its fully developed.
Has any 1 else with Win 10 home edition Checked to see if the Defer box is present??? If Not can you check... Thnx...
this is purplexing to Me...I dont want the Anniversary update forced on Me Again!
Well I've had it there since the first install of win10, soooooooo....... don't know what to say.
Also I've used AVG antivirus (free addition) for about the last 10 years or so, and never once had a problem with anything, and my computer is used for all sorts of things.
Yes. Also a good option with a small footprint. Even better, because it's free. :)
Edit: The Defer Option is probably a version thing--Home vs Professional. Makes sense they'd be forced to add something like that to the business version, for obvious reasons. I don't have the option on my PC, either, and both are running the Home version.
Does any of you use actual monitors for gaming? or do we all use TVs? If that is the case, can you see a difference on anything above 60fps? Since 60Hz is what the TV will output from the PC, unless you have a Displayport? Is that all correct or am I tripping on my leg?

Ah yeah, Home vs Professional does make sense (there you go Grimey) :)

TVs only run 4K at 60Hz, regardless of the connection type (at least today--if there's one out there, I've never seen it.). Most decent UHD TVs, can run 1080p at 120Hz, though.
Whether or not you notice the difference between 60/120 fps depends on the game and the scene. In fast moving action like sim racing, you can typically see the smoother frame flow above 60 fps. However, the higher you go, the less noticeable it becomes to the human eye. That being said, 60 fps is fine for sim racing and the most you'll get from a TV. Good gaming monitors can be expensive, which makes TVs a cost-efficient way to enjoy 4K gaming on a large single screen.

Yes... I was Figuring that.. Thanks
I did get the Defer Box to Show its self after i Ran Winshow... I will Try to Replicate that when i get in from work... I think Winsow is the Key because you Must use that to Hide unwanted updates to stop them from Down loading.... Using the Defer option is Much simpler...
@Haiden thanks for Confirming that the Defer Box is Not present.

I use a 2011 LG 55" 240Hz TV. It works good for me but then again I don't really know what to look for as far as fps goes. I also use it to stream races from the internet like WEC and things that NISMOTV stream over Youtube.

How are you going back Drivers ?
I'm using the nVidia GForce and it won't let it roll back ? Stuck with 372.70 which works but would like to know how to roll back .
People are crying badly about 372.90 with FTX 1080 and fps of 20 in all games . So i'm waiting for confirmation first .
i used my Mobo software to OC my CPU and it found the crash GHz to be 4.3 with stock voltage so now run at 4.2 and all is sweet . It's weird watching you GHz climb and climb and then your pc goes blue /purple and gets a crash report and starts again with a stable clock speed .
Big Dad have you updated to the latest Driver yet??? Its working very well!!!
If you down Load it its really easy... just click it to Run, once it finishes select Custom Instal, there are options dont change anything!!! just scroll down to the Clean Install box and check it!!! This way it removes the old driver settings and stuff and does a fresh install... select run... when its done it will automatically select your Tv/Monitor native resolution...all you have to do is re enter any custom settings you may have entered.
BTW i used the let GPU V-Sync but only on Dead Space 3, for some reason with V-sync on it Plays UHD but only in 30FPS when i cut V-sync off the FPS goes Bananas 175+ looks horrible My TV cant keep up with it!!! When i use your trick and set V-sync through the GPU 60FPS and its Horrifyingly Beautiful!! UHD Horror Survival +1 i love it:yes:... Pcars , AC, Dirt, R3e I let the Global/Game settings run the V-sync for me letting the game v-sync seems to maintain a constant 60FPS better than the GPU doing it.

HDMI is also limited to 60Hz @ 4K.
Haven't gone to latest driver yet. Upgrading to latest isn't my problem just rolling back won't work in Ge force experience.

Okay, I apologize in advance for going off topic, but I finished the final edits of my book this week, which means I'm in the 45 day (approx) slide to the release. Since this thread also doubles as a hangout, where familiar faces frequent, it seemed like a good place for shameless self promotion. :)
If you're a science fiction fan, I invite you to join my Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/andredavisscifi/), where I share a lot of the concept art I collect to feed my imagination. When the book goes on sale, I'll post the info on the Page, and I'm trying to work out a promotion that would allow me to offer it at a discount to Facebook followers for the first few days.

The thing is, geforce experience keeps saying there is no compatible hardware for any previous drivers ? So i cant "roll back" only install new .
I now have 372.90 and it seems the same as 372.70 to me .
No dramas.

You are correct about the wheels on consoles. They definitely don't get used to their fullest. After getting some real time in last night I cant believe how much better ac is.
Haiden
As for the difficulty between consoles its weird. At first I thought the console version was stupid hard but once I figured out you had to adjust the cars I was beating almost everyone pretty easily in career. On pc at 90 even after adjusting I cant always win and have to really fight to finish 2nd even in races that I easily beat the console version in one or two laps. I think part of that is the ai on pc seems to be more human like and wont give up the spot as easily. On console I figured out in a lot of cases if you turned a faster lap then the fastest ai car they would actually give up and pretty much pull over for you. Yes you read that right.lol I actually had 3 cars pretty much stop and let me go right by even though I hadn't caught them yet. Now that ive played the pc version the console version is just just weird. Another question. How do you get the tire and brake temps to show on ac like in pcars?

Have you tried just going to the website, downloading the older driver, and then double-clicking the file? If you're doing it through the Experience software, it's probably only looking forward. Try doing it manually.

The tire overlay is one of the apps. Just move your cursor to the right and find it's icon. I don't think there's an overlay for brakes, though. You can also use DashMeter Pro or Crew Chief for that. DashMeter shows you the temps, Crew Chief will tell you if you ask. But AFAIK, AC doesn't do provide brake temps. I think the physics of cold vs warm performance might be there, but I haven't found anything that shows them. Even if you ask Crew Chief, he just says, "We don't have that data."
Also, I hadn't played AC for while, but went back to it last night. Before I got Raceroom, I was using lower steering ratios in PCars. After I started playing R3E, it became problematic, and I realize the faster ratios in PCars were making me scrub my tires more than I realized, which was the causing the tires to heat faster than they should. Anyway... I raised the ratios on PCars a while back and for about the past two weeks have only been playing PCars and R3E. When I went back to AC last night, I thought something was wrong, because it felt weird, and I kept losing the back end at corner entry. After about 30 frustrating minutes and a few Google searches, I realized the problem is AC's steering model. They don't let you adjust the steering ratio (just like you can't adjust brake pressure...WTH???), and the default ratio is too tight for me. The reason I was losing the back end was because I wasn't used to the lower ratios anymore and I was oversteering. By adjusting the Steering Settings (Gamma and Filter), you can basically do the same thing as raising the ration. Steering Gamma works like brake gama, just raise it slightly (1.05-1.10 is good to start testing) and it will slow the steering, which will reduce oversteer on turn in. Filter is something that I don't fully understand, outside a vague explanation given online, and most people didn't seem to get it either, but almost all agreed that setting it to 1.0 works better than 0.0. Give it a try. I was happy with my FFB settings, but the small adjustments to the Steering settings, made a huge difference.
You might want to also test brake gama, if you haven't already. I bumped mine up to around 1.25, and it feels much better now. I can kick them hard and trail brake further into the corner now. I don't know why Kunos didn't include brake pressure. It's a real stupid oversight. But, after recently watching a video where the lead developer made comments that seemed to imply he didn't know Fanatec rims had rumble motors in them, I'm a little less surprised...LOL That being said, R3E left out tire pressure, so.... IDK what goes through their heads.
One more thing, you might want to try lowering the Slip Effects scale to zero, and taking it for a spin. IMO, the default setting makes the effect a lot more pronounced than it should be, and while it may feel good, it's more of a hindrance than a benefit. I think I settled on something like 5 for mine. That, along with the other changes I mentioned above, shaved seconds off my lap times. Before I made those changes, I was couldn't get pole at 90 difficulty. After I made them, I was taking pole at 90 by a few seconds, and had to raise it. :)
All that said, you really should try R3E. I like AC, but I think R3E is a MUCH better racing experience. FFB is better, too. It's got some really good tracks, too. I haven't ventured online yet, but the server list shows a lot more quantity and variety than AC and PCars combined.
Brake temps don't work in most cars in AC but I can't help you on which ones they do work.
Note that the lead developer may not be aware of technical stuff such as this, that guy might be working solely on engine or AI etc.
As far as the AI goes, in AC it has difficulty overtaking slower cars. Or rather it used to, it's been toned down in the current version. The reason you are struggling to keep pace is because in the last patch the AI has been improved a lot and fights really hard. The consoles are behind a few patches, they don't have Tyre version 10 and neither do they have the tweaked AI.

Stefano Casillo is more than lead developer. He's also a co-founder. I'm pretty sure he involved in more than one aspect of the development. His ignorance about the rumble motors is just strange. But it does explain why so many features on the Fanatec rims don't work without third-party support.

That's because it pretty much is for us. There weren't really any general 3D profiles updates for the 1000 series. Most of the changes were for Titan, 900 series cards, G-Sync, Experience issues with Win10, and special laptop GPUs. The few 3D related changes, listed in the notes were for specific games. Mirror's Edge was one of them. They updated the 3D compatibility mode profile for it and upgraded the status to Excellent, but I don't think really concern us, unless you have a 3D TV or something. :)

I always keep the Last 3 Drivers that i know worked well
in a Folder... Just Because???... Even for the wheel... Dunno why im just in a Habbit of doing that.
I dont like 372.70 ... It doesnt seem as Crisp/Sharp as .54, .90.... I dunno Maybe it was related to the Anniversary update issues i was having??? Shrugggs.
I ran Winshow again it had 1607 slotted as a update i Needed AGAIN!!! It didnt down Load it because i had it on the Defferd list... I used Winshow to Hide it so im Good until i un-Hide it:yes:
Everything Back uo and Running Silky Smooth again:yes:
I dunno why i was having a prob with it... I was Mainly R3E that 1607 was buggy with.... What ever the case problem solved... I will wait until R3E updates to work better with 1607 before i un-Hide it and Reinstal it.

With all the Changing Stuff around while putting in My TF/Rac 75 setting i forgot to enter in the Scoop Settings... I have been Racing the Last few Days with No Scoop settings and the No Scoop Feel with the V2 is Very Good!!!
Sooo Good i may Continue to use No Scoops!!! Because of TF 75 and RAC 75 i didn't Run into the Clipping problem that happens because of the Extra power that's added to the FFB due to No Scoops Cutting Low/High FFB Forces.
The V2 is definitley More than Capable of Handling Pcars with No Scoops... infact i think the V2 Feels Even better with No Scoops added... I played with the Scoop settings all last Night and what i found was My 24/68 Scoop Settings Feel Very Close to the Feel of No Scoops but No Scoops provides a More Direct FFB Feel in the center of the Wheel Especially going into a Corner... No Scoops Give a Notable pwer increase especially at wheel center.
i will definitltly explore this No Scoop option More...
Edit: I can definitly see How Scoops vs No Scoops Can be used to Balance 1 FFB Tweek so it will be Compatible with all wheels.

It feels better, because the v2 is almost linear and doesn't need Scoop adjustments. Scoops actually ruin the V2's force curve. You can see that in the FCM tool. I've been running without Scoops for a while now. And I run FF/TF at 100/75 with RAC=90 and SG=87, using Jack's in-car settings. There's no clipping. the V2 is capable of handling a lot, provided give it a clean balanced signal.
On the wheel, you should also try setting SPr and dPr to OFF. They just muddy up the game's FFB, adding weight and dampening the feel. Your FFB will feel cleaner without them, and you won't have to run the in-car masters as high to get the detail, which would allow you to raise your RAC and expand the range.

I use the 100 in Car Masters so FFB per Car car can be adjusted as Needed...+99 or -99.
With No Scoops im thinking about using TF 65 on Wheel FFB 65...it Feels Great Same a 75 with a Tad Less wheel weight than TF 75...
No scoops Gives a Much More Pure and Direct FFB Feel:yes:You Really Feel Much More Connected to the Road.
I even Set TF to 50 and the On Wheel FFB to 100 and the Feel is Just increadible and Very Powerful too!!! there was No diminishment to the FFB as far as i could tell... More testing will be done though... Trying to dissern which way Feels best is like Looking for a Needle in a Hay Stack!!!... But im on it...LOL
Grimey, I've now played around with your suggestion of minimizing Fx forces on each car.. and I have to tell you: YOU NAILED IT!!! :)
I know I've not been giving you props before but this time your idea wasn't crazy enough to warrant critique. On the contrary, you really were right about Fx being a very strong masking force. I haven't been playing enough yet to see just how much of a difference it makes but at the moment I am at these settings for most cars I've tried:
Fx 14
Fy 80 (yes I can finally rise the Fy value when Fx is down!!)
Fz 70
Mz 100
Steering Arm Angle usually around 2000 for most cars. Many road cars seem to like it at higher values, up to 3200 sometimes.
So yeah, in conclusion, you were absolutely spot on about Fx. The weird thing is, it's not a "normal" strong force.. it's almost as if it's causing some phase problems with Fy so that it reinforces the "dead" feeling for Fy. With Fx down I can make Fy a lot higher without the FFB becoming less detailed and washed out.
As for Scoop, yeah I've almost completely stopped using Scoop.. actually, not entirely true, I've experimented with Scoop at 100 knee and then about 0.10 amount. This forces Scoop to be a kind of limiter at the top, allowing me to get a bit more FFB fidelity but with the discovery of low FX amounts I suddenly get a lot stronger FFB even without any other tricks. This was always a problem in pCars where FFB in general was a lot weaker than in other simulators. Now with the weird Fx phase problems gone the overall FFB strength is much higher so no need to do Soft Clipping tricks to get mid level forces up into the significant range.
Cheers man! Good detective work!

Guys, it's good to speak FFB again ! The PC stuff was interesting, of course, even if I'm on PS4, but talking FFB and reading about it in this fabulous thread is my big pleasure on this forum. This game is great !
I'm surprised none of you that have crossed over to pcs have brought up how much easier it is to get really good ffb over the console versions. I know see why guys on pc don't understand when console people complain they don't feel something. Answer is its just different. I noticed it right away after trying ac on pc. There are forces you just don't get as clearly or at all on console versions. I didn't do anything except lower gain on ac and its a lot better then the console version. Not that the console version is bad just not nearly as defined as the pc version. I think bigdad nailed it saying the wheels arent used to their fullest on consoles. If my t300 feels this good id love to see what a cswv2 feels like.

Actually, this is one of the reasons I don't talk about FFB much anymore. I'm absolutely done with it. When I switched to PC, and had other sims to reference, I went back and did a little more fiddling, because there was obviously more range to work with, but the FFB feels fantastic now, and I just want to enjoy the game. I loaded Jack's tweaker files, and love the convenience of not having to write settings down and remember what each car should be set to, and which car/track combos have or haven't been updated. If there's any detail to be gained on Jack's in-car settings, I just don't care. Like I said, they feel great. I'm done chasing the rabbit. :)

It's possible it's also a question of latency. FFB will feel a lot more "connected" as soon as the onscreen wheel matches your physical wheel. This only happens when you have low latency (which on PC means running absolute minimum render ahead frames and a monitor with low latency).
I did try pCars on PS4 quite a few times and all my FFB tweaks translated there as expected but indeed the fidelity felt higher at home.

Believe it or not, it's sort of the same for me. I've just learned to accept the fact that some of the tires/cars in pCars are just plain "weird" or bugged out. I used to try to desperately fix those with massive FFB tweaks but it's no use. Instead I just don't drive those cars at all any more.
At the moment I'm quite satisfied with these latest tweaks for most cars. I don't like using tweaker.xml files because they disable the master gain setting per car which I find extremely annoying. So I tweak each car in-game.. and now that I have a set that seems to work for pretty much any car, I just set it and forget it.
I posted a screen pic once, and someone asked why I had the wheel and hands showing if I had my own wheel. I had turned it on when I switched to PC, because it was helpful for getting the FOV and FFB sorted out. But the reason it was still on was because I couldn't really see it anymore. Once I got the FOV set correctly, my real wheel and hands overlap the onscreen wheels perfectly, so I don't even really see them when I'm driving. :)

Thanks Bamanic!!! Its been a long Road but it was all worth it!!!.... Its Not a matter of ideas being Crazy... Its a Matter that there are sooo Many ways to tweek the system with same or similar results... its always Good to think and experiment out side the Box a bit you Never Know what you can come up with... Crazy to Some Genius to others:)
Once i went to PC Pcars FFB went from Good to Great... I too was done Tweeking with the FFB ... after having to Delete everything 2x By Chance i forgot to enter in My Scoop values and Noticed that the FFB felt considerably Better... I chalked it up to the system Reset...it felt Sooo Much better i decided that i Needed to Recheck My settings to Make sure i wasn't just Crazy feeling a Placebo effect of being Happy My system was back to 100% and that's when i Noticed that i did Not set Scoops!!! After Testing a bit i can Confirm that No Scoops with the V2 wheel Takes the FFB Feel From Great to Amazing!!!
The Scoop settings that i was using Feel Very similar to No Scoops but with diminished power at the wheel center....this is Valuable info because it opens the door for Creating a universal wheel tweek that can be fine tuned to different wheels using Scoops to Balance things out.... The power output between Scoops and No Scoops is Considerable:yes:...with Scoops Off i tested setting TF 50 and on wheel FFB to 100 and the power and Feel was Still there with No Clipping!!! Even the wheel weight was still Correct!!! this is significant because Only Fanatec wheels have on Wheel FFB settings but when Fanatec on wheel FFB is set to 100 it is the same as Every other wheel:yes: so this Means that other wheel can use the TF/RAC 75 tweek and use Scoops and TF to balance the Tweek to the wheel being used:yes:
I have Not tried No Scoops on PS4 yet but i will do so this evening... It should work exactly the same because TF/RAC 75 was Made on PS4 and ported 1 to 1 to PC!!!... Just with Better feel because PC puts out a wider range of FFB forces.
Thanks for the compliment... If you come up with a New break through keep Me posted... We Must continue to Discover Pcars FFB it will translate to Pcars2 FFB being Amazing!!!

Wow!!! The diff between scoops and no Scoops is showing its self!!! as usual i tested on Watkins short , Gt3 Ruf, 2+2 fastback Mustang, LMP1 Marek and was able to beat my prior leader board times 2with those cars by .250 to .500!!!
That tad bit of extra feel & wheel weight around wheel center that No Scoops Gives is really making a diff:yes:

I haven't got pcars on pc yet. I didn't want to be jumping between games when I was trying to get everything working. Had my resolution set wrong and what a difference that made.:) Ill probably get pcars in the next day or so. I'm starting to miss it. If ac looks this good I cant wait to see what pcars looks like on pc. If I had known pcs where this much better I would have done it along time ago.

Big Dad are you still testing My Settings??? if so can you do Me a favor and test No Scoops with your wheel??? if so Set TF to 65 and Scoops Off... set the On wheel FFB to 65 or where ever feels best and Let Me know how it feels... Start with 65 and adjust TF + or - to Balance the wheel out.
TF 50 and on Wheel 100 works Great on the V2 also but... @ TF 65 and on wheel 65 wheel weight and FFB forces balance its perfect for Me... with TF 50 and on wheel FFB 100 Feels Good too but the Center Wheel Weight is a Tad Lighter than I Like, the FFB Forces are Good but the Overal Strength of the wheel is Too Strong to use the V2 wheel at 100% for Me.... Hard to explain it... at TF 50 the wheel center is Light but when turning the V2 100% Power Kicks in and it Gets Strong Really Quick... Feels More Like Assetto Corsa progressive steering with No Scoops:yes: I Need More Testing Time I can Probably use Smoothing & Damping to stop the power from Ramping up so quickly but i haven Gotten that far with Testing yet.

Hmmm...Just Got Back $40.00 in Rebates from PC build:yes: Im thinking to burn that free cash trying iRacing again... I think i can get 3mos for $10.00....Racing the CPU is Ok but i wanna Race online VS Real People...I get some Good Pcars rooms on line but there are Not too Many active online rooms...its very Random.
I dont Like iRacing policy that you Never own any content but i may be willing to give it another try on the New PC... Maybe i will have a better experience and deem it worth it... any 1 else contemplating this... or is a active member of iRacing and has some input on this matter???
what i Miss Most about PS4 is the online Racing...
Question any 1 else thinking about buying Forza Horizon???

Not really thinking about iRacing right now. Having too much fun with what I have, and they're model isn't something I'm ready to invest in. I feel like once, I start, then I need to make that my primary play, because I'm paying for it...LOL. So, I'll wait until I get bored with these three (if I ever do), before I check out iRacing.
PCars online is a little sparse on PC, but I always find a server. Even if it's just 5 guys, it can be fun. Last night, I got into a server with 5 dudes, and after a few good sessions, we ran into a snag and couldn't get the session to start. Turned out, it was one player that idle. We kicked him and it started, but we had been trying different things to get it going and when it finally started, we had it set to FAs on the California Coast...LOL. So we ran them anyway, and it was so much fun we did it again, and then tried it on Azure Coast. After, we got back to racing, but just dropped the practice and quali, and just had it start with random grid positions, because there were only five of us and it didn't matter. There were other servers with more people, but that one was fun, so I stayed and made some new friends.
R3E has a lot of server going. AC is pretty vacant, though.
I am thinking about Forza Horizon 3. The graphics look awesome. I know it's not a sim, but the open world concept (with regular traffic) is pretty cool. It's nice to just get in a car and drive sometimes. Which is why I like the point to point road tracks in PCars and AC, but they aren't as much fun, because they repeat. FH3 would be a nice break. And Now that I have a real FOV with a mounted screen, the fixed FOV that Forza forces, should be okay. That being said, I'm not going to get it until Fanatec support kicks in. They said the end of September, do you know if they've updated it yet?

I dont Know if they updated for Fanatec Support yet... But i did see on the Fanatec Forum Armin said that a New FW is coming Soon...i also will wait for FFB support... I was under the impression that FH3 was going to launch with Fanatec wheel Support...i mean Really WTF is going on... I have a $400. Forza branded MS/XB1 wheel Hub and all other wheels Launch with wheel support but Not Fanatec... WTF???

Yeah... I don't get that either. They have a Fanatec branded wheel, so it's odd. I could be wrong, but I thought the article I was reading was referring to both FM-Apex and FH3 when they said Fanatec support was coming in late September. Which is pretty much now, so I would expect to hear something this week.

Eurika!!! i Got it!!! Finally Cracked the code to get the progressive FFB in Pcars with My setting!!! The Progressive FFB feel is there its definitely there!!!
holy Shizzle!!! Now that i found it its Obvious and Crystal Clear what i have been doing wrong!!! Holly Shizzle!!!
No Scoops and TF 50 is the key... at TF 50 the only the wheel center gets lighter but from end to end while turning under load its as strong as i have the on wheel FFB set... Progressive FFB:yes:!!! Nope racing with on Wheel FFB 100% even at TF 50 is outta the question its still very Very Powerful.. Yeaj i know!!! I too though that reducing TF to 50 would make the wheel Limp with No fight... that might be true with scoops on but with scoops off its a diff story... Nope i cant say how this works with any other tweek method i can only say this is how its working with My Tweek and the CSW v2...it should work same with any other wheel also because they just us 100% power all the time... so you would have to tame the FFB level some where...Lower GM FFB??? Hmmmm...
Only thing Now is to decide if i want to take the Time and Cultivate the Progressive FFB Feel outta Pcars???... I would Probably have to come up with some Damping and Smoothing settings to control the Wheels Progressive power ramp up... I been Racing with My wheel this way for Soo Long do i even Want or Need to fine tune the Progressive Feel??? Hmmm Dilema??? I dunno???
the way My FFB is Now the Wheel Weight is Spot on but its Not Progressive... Yes the wheel weight Fluctuates weight Transfer Bumps Etc... But its Mostly Pretty evenly Balanced throughout the turning Range....
Now when i set TF 50 the Center of the wheel is as Heavy as TF 50 can be but under Turning Load with the V2 at 100% the FFB/Wheel resistance to turn is Progressive and Hella strong Sooo Strong i Had to cut the wheel FFB to 85% and thats even strong!!!

Ok... I know this will cause some to want to debate the Fact... But there is Really Nothing to Debate:p...There is No Need for Debate only testing to be done that will prove this True or False:yes:...
It seems that TF can and Will act as a Variable Force with Scoops Dissabled:yes: You can test this with My Settings by Setting TF 50, Scoops to 0, GM FFB 100, and you will See that only the Center wheel weight is Reduced at TF 50 but when turning at Medium & High Speeds the wheel weight will adjust accordingly = to the Total strength of the Wheel used:yes: Fanatec wheels i suggest setting on wheel FFBb to 100% to test this... Note: When Fanatec on wheel FFB is set to 100% they function as every other wheel without the on Wheel FFB settings.
I dont Know how this will work with other Tweeks Methodes:confused:... It may or May Not work the same due to the Diff with the in Car Masters being set so low... But i suggest Try it any way and post your Findings.
My thoughts are TF is also Limited by the RAG setting so when TF 50 is used it sets the Constant/Starting TF force Level... But it can and will Rise above 50 depending on demand Ex: Weight Transfer, High Speed Turns etc... But it will be Limited/Cut By the RAG should TF Forces try to Rise above the Set RAG point.
IMO it is Not possible to Get the Progressive FFB Feel when using Scoops because as TF forces Rise Scoops Kick in and Limit the TF power increase on the High end and Negate the Progressive FFB Feel.
Over 1 year Later and Pcars is Still giving up its secrets:yes:
Conclusion: Pcars does infact have Progerssive FFB Feel!!! it seems that there is a New way to use and set TF:yes:
Hmmm... The Question is even though we all have FFB settings we have gotten used to and are comfortable with Have we been using TF wrong for all this time:confused:???
No Need for Debate:no:... Simple testing will prove this true or False:yes:

Let me know what you think about the adaptive AI. I thought it was pretty cool at first, but after I got used to the game and got my FFB dialed in, I started seeing my gap between the AI increase. I was 3 or more seconds ahead. I switched it to 100, and now the P2 AI is only about .200 - .500 behind me.
I just didn't seem like it was adapting. I've heard people mention that, but experiences seem to vary. Some people claim they started out competitive, and then the AI started blowing them away. Others, have experiences like mine, where the AI seems to get progressively slower. Curious to know how it goes for you.
Big Dad - Have you tried the adaptive AI? Thoughts?

Ok im back outta the Rabbit Hole!!!... Well at Least for Now... LOL.
I Made No Changes other than No Scoops and TF -10:yes:
I settled with TF 65 and No Scoops...TF Needed to be reduced to 65 because Scoops is No Longer Cutting High Forces... Result is a Notabley Tighter, Smoother and More Responsive Wheel Center:yes: Wheel weight is Spot on for Me:yes: Progressive FFB feel is still there but Not as Notable due to the tighter wheel Center... But its still there:yes: ...V2 wheel Im using on Wheel FFB 65.
I find that with TF at 50 the Progressive FFB feel is Very Noticable because there is alot of Room for FFB Forces to Ramp up.... With TF 75 or Higher the Progressive FFB is Still Present but Much Less Notable because the FFB Ramp up is only from .75 to 1.00...very Small FFB Ramp up window.
I have 1 more trick to try and unless something Changes i will keep the TF 65 and No Scoops Pcars feels better than Ever:yes:
Now all we have to do is set up some online Races!!!
Any 1 have any Times on the boards that i can test against??? Not as good as a actual Race but its Good sport.... Ofcourse i started at Watkins short and set times in a Few Cars i like when im done with Watkins short I think Next is Laguna seca... any 1 want to start a Time Challenge anybtrack any Car??? whos up for it?

Not sure what you mean by load cell settings for the brakes. You mean the calibration?
I don't remember my exact settings but Master Gain=100, and Steering Intensity=80 or 100 (I can't remember). The slip effect is at 5%, and then road and the others around 40-50%. The Steering Rack is 0, I do know that. I then use the in-car FFB meter to adjust the force to prevent clipping. The in-car FFB is found under Vehicle Settings > Steering Settings. You have to be back at the garage/pitbox for that to show. This setting is saved to the car, not the track. So you only have to dial out the clipping once per car.
Also, when you test drive cars in the store, a lot of them will feel like crap in the corners, but it's only because their in-car FFB gain is set to the default. Unfortunately, that can't be adjusted in a test drive. I actually hesitated to buy a few cars because of that, and then later realized why they felt so numb.
I'll check my settings later and post them. Can't remember them off the top of my head. R3E is my favorite right now for race experience. I've been playing PCars mostly exclusively online. Then when I can't find any good online sessions or get tired of it, I switch to R3E for the single player. I haven't really done much online racing in R3E. The AI difficulty goes way past 100, and they play well on the grid (provided you get the difficulty within your skill range), so I'm having fun offline. The adaptive AI works okay, but I'm not sure how it adjusts itself, or if it goes past 100. With the adaptive AI, I began having to start further down the grid to make it competitive. But when I set the AI to 105, I'm barely taking pole, and often don't, and the races are pretty intense. I really have to focus now, and even small mistakes are costly.
One thing I love about R3E's AI is that the are fallible. You'll see the car in front make a mistake--catch a little too much lock up on braking, take a little too much curb, blow his corner entry and run wide--and then you can capitalize on that. So even when your struggling to close the gap, you know you've still got a shot, because anything can happen. I don't think I've ever seen the AI make a mistake in AC, and in PCars, even when they do make mistakes, it's just cosmetic/for show, because unless they actually hit something, it has little to no impact on their pace.
Nope it Must Not Work and Big Dad is pissed off about it.... Hmmm
Or maybe i just love it and cant stop playing long enough to post a reply ;)
Or maybe NOT :)
No Fanatec support for me on my wheel but there are reports that with the logitech drivers or something it can work .
I've just been playing with a xBone pad and it feels like i'm playing The Crew but much prettier .4K maxed out locked @30fps , unlocked i get 42fps but locking at 30 with v-sync its nice .
It's weird ,people are reporting really bad fps and stutter , but for me it's possibly one of the smoothest games i've got .
This is my first Forza that ive payed for (only played Apex for about 1hr) and i'm not entirely convinced that this is going to be a fun game for me . The cars float and the steering with the pad is not so good . I will need to give it more time and also hope for wheel support soon .
Also i cant just configure buttons how i like as there are mandatory buttons that just cant fit on the pad but in the default set up it doesnt need them all set ?Really needs to be able to map to pad and keyboard .
Thoughts?
Nah Mate , never even new about adaptive Ai. I started @ 92 for Ai and was winning easily so now i'm set @ 110 and find it pretty right for me . Can qualify up front (between 3rd -6th) and usually jump most off the line but then probably make a mistake or lose concentration and drop back a bit and have to fight back .
I've made up a few championships with different car/track combos using about 15-20 races each and am sitting mid pack in each . Really quite awesome .
Going to the R3E shop now to buy more stuff . Not sure what yet ? Any suggestions?

It's nice when you get a good start off the line, and take a few spots. Hard to keep though. :)
The BMW M3 GT2 is probably my absolutely favorite right now. I've been driving that thing almost everywhere...LOL I love it! The power to handling ratio is perfect. Just enough power to keep you on your toes coming out of a corner, especially when you're trying to come out strong for an overtake. The 2015 DTM series is also very good, but I think the Racical SR9 (P2) might be my second fav. Like the M3, it's a challenge to drive fast. I love the DTM classes--great racing, especially long races--but I don't find them as challenging to drive as some of the cars with less grip.
I've got to set up a championship. I have one ready, just haven't set it up.
Also, are you using Crew Chief? If not, grab it. It's free for PC, and works with all games. Makes R3E even more fun, because the push-to-talk actually works very well. You can turn of the HUD and radio in for position, gap, brake, lap times, and to find out who is behind, in front, or leading. Really adds to the realism, driving blind and having to ask. :)

Im not using any external app as my pc has no wifi , may have to add it later .
Maybe i could run my crappy laptop next to me and connect it to my modem/router or whatever it is .lol
Just been testdriving some and the Fabcar and R32 Skyline are now in my garage. What next ? Love car shopping .

You don't need any wi-fi to run Crew Chief. It's an actual PC program that runs on your PC. That's why it works with all games. You can find the download link in the Crew Chief thread. Just go to the PC version. :)
Edit: Also... you don't need wi-fi to run external apps. The tablets have to be wi-fi enabled, so they can receive the broadcast, but the games send their UDP through the network. As long as your tablets are on the same network, they can receive the signal. DashMeter Pro has version for PCars & AC, as well as R3E. You just have to run the controller application on your PC, and it will broadcast over the network.
I didn't get much actual racing in with r3e yet. I did get the pack with mid ohio though. What did you guys set the ffb to? And they thought pcars had a lot of settings. lol It took me a few minutes to find the setting for load cells so I had full brakes.. That's an odd way of doing it in r3e. But its nice having 3 really good racing games.
Force Feedback Intensity = 100
Smoothing = 0
Steering Force Intensity = 100
Understeer = 20
Vertical Load = 75
Lateral Force = 50
Steering Rack = 0
Slip Effects = 20
Engine Vibration = 5
Kerb = 50
Shift Effect = 35
Anything not listed is set to 0 or OFF.
Edit: Make sure you pick up the Slovakia Ring track. I think it's one of the best, definitely became a favorite real quick. High speed and fun, with nice elevation changes in some critical braking zones. :)

You should be able to exclude the program in the settings. Not sure exactly where, though. I don't use Defender. It's way too intrusive for my tastes. Blocks everything and has a heavy resource footprint. But there's an exception list/setting in there somewhere.
I would recommend finding a different security software. There are good free ones that run very light and offer better protection.

Yeah i was using Avast but Forza wont run with that installed so i just uninstalled that today and Defender turns itself on again when there's nothing else .
Got Crew Chief to run . Thanks , any more apps like this that will run in the background without wifi ?
