Hi all,

The new DLC will start going live overnight and tomorrow on all platforms, so with that, here is a look at what's included. Enjoy. :)

This Renault Sport Pack, and Radical RXC Turbo, are going to be fabulous! I will be going to the gym early tomorrow so I won't miss a minutes opportunity to race once it goes live on PSN EU.

My routine with a new pack is to start with my least wanted car (Megane Trophy-R), go through it's liveries then give it a 3 lap shakedown. Work my way through to my most anticipated. It will be hard to pick with this pack though.

1. It wasn't on kickstarter, it was on SMS' own, unique, WMD (World of Mass Development) platform
2. Nobody below the 'Manager' tier is getting this, or any further, DLC for free.

I don't know how your friend got it for free but he/she shouldn't have - at least, not for free as part of the WMD member privileges :).

DLC Fine, thank you SMS! But! When the game is back on the stick, the weight of the cars? When you get to a normal count of gravity and float with the cars you do not like a hovercraft? When do you make to continually minimize lift the front of the car? And this new thing, jumping to bend the front wheels. When will the normal damping, because the present is more like some rubber ball physics. THX, SMS, in advance.It does not attack, only comments.

true, but its insane anyway...~620hp at full boost and 230mph...how the hell??? (ofc i blew the engine by the time the lap was half over, but still)

The RS01 is a beast !
Only fixed FFB and gave him a run at Zolder. After two laps the Stig told me the brakes were overheating and he kept repeating that. Turned PCars Dash on and yes: fronts 1.160°C and rear 980°C. Finished the 6 lap race and watched replay: redglowing front discs all the time, the rears now and then.
So: some tuning to do.

Also tried the new (free) Radical: very nice to drive. I like this one more than his siblings.
Feels a bit light, I have to turn FFB up. No brake problems and the tires (I lowered the pressure just a bit) came pretty fast within working temp.
I also noticed that these Radicals all have their headlights on (daylight conditions), though my Motec display was not illuminated. When I pushed the light switch, the display lit up, but in replay I saw the lights were on the whole time.

Oh, and 20 RS01 monsters on track is a beautiful sight, nice racing too.

There must be something wrong with my pCARS install???? That car, and most others feel like I'm driving on ice...especially after the latest patch. Even after the tires are warm!!! I'm starting to wonder if my game is messed up after reading this.

Second was taking it to Silverstone Classic!

It picks up speed so fast! A top speed like it has, with a turbo, and only 5 gears! These new hybrids have smaller power bands, 2 extra gears, and are still slower!

In full qualifying trim, with the bubble roof, the A443 achieved a top speed of 236 mph (380 km/h)[citation needed] on the Mulsanne Straight

of course, no idea if thats accurate, but its blazingly fast. i dont think the c9 with draft was much faster (around 400km/h) although that was probably after the chicanes were introduced?

Don't worry its not you.Its getting fixed in next patch!

Cars are a little loose with this patch IMO.

Hello, someone tell me if the engine of the Renault Sport RS 01 is electric?
Because the replay is muted like an electric car.

The semi-stressed engine is bolted to the carbon monocoque chassis on the distribution side, and to the roll cage at the top. Prepared by Nismo, the 3.8L V6 twin-turbo engine is derived from the Nissan GT-R. The main change in relation to the production model is the dry sump system intended to prevent oil surges during long corners. The Pectel electronic unit features a traction control function.
Turbo pressure is set to deliver over 500 hp with maximum torque of more than 600 N.m. This positions Renault Sport R.S. 01 between a GT3 and a DTM in terms of performance.

Anyone using a pad having issues with the steering on the Formula Renault and the RS 01.
I'm finding it difficult to get the cars to turn enough going round corners.
Maybe it's just me and something to do with setup's but I thought I would put it out there and see if anyone else noticed this.

Haven't had a lot of time with the pack yet but some first impressions.

A little unimpressed with the Formula Renault 3.5 as a whole actually but I am going to put that down to the botched tyres at the moment and give it the benefit of the doubt. The default FFB for it is also right up there with the Formula A for worst default FFB for me.
A little disappointed with the default FFB for all the cars in the pack actually. I guess it is time I actually try and learn how to tweak the per car settings.

The free Radical though, that thing is a blast around Bathurst. On the edge every second trying to jump out from underneath you.

im enjoying the RS01 a surprising amount, keeps biting my ass at the nordschleife but thats just me + that track... makes me want to try the huracan ST in assetto corsa now, theyre both single-make series with pretty similar specs from what i recall.

have barely tried the FR 3.5, just did a few laps at brands. thatll be my next car tho, its an insanely good car in rf2 & mod for AC so a high bar there.

Yeah, eagerly awaiting for more American cars and tracks, especially if those will include Chevy road cars.

Do you guys notice default setup on Megane RS 265?On both front-rear springs strength on left and right is different so be aware of that... Huh, very peculiar. I'm guessing 63 front and 44 rear is what it's supposed to have, but can't say for certain. At least it's already really quite stiff with those.

makes me want to try the huracan ST in assetto corsa now, theyre both single-make series with pretty similar specs from what i recall.AFAIK the Super Trofeo cars have never had aerodynamics close to GT3 levels, whereas the RS01 is superior to GT3 cars in this respect. Overall on Spa the difference between the Super Trofeo Huracan and the RS01 is around 7 seconds per lap, looking at the results from this year.

EDIT: Other reasons to suspect the DF on the ST isn't up to snuff: More power then GT3 by about 100-150 bhp, lighter than most GT3, about the same size tyres as the largest seen in GT3 (though could well be a much worse compound), yet they're consistently slower than GT3.

Incidentally, I wonder if it's the sim companies that are not interested or if it's Lamborghini laying down the law, but I wonder why the Huracan Super Trofeo is the one that keeps getting licensed, when it's "just" a less fast version of the GT3 car in many ways. The previous Gallardo Super Trofeo at least had the very interesting property of being one of the only all wheel drive GT cars seen these days...

In time trial @ Spa, the default RS.01 seems better than the average car at keeping tyre temps in the optimum ballpark.

Quite a few cars, including the RS.01, seem to improve laptime massively over the first ~6 laps, I started out at ~2mins19secs on lap1 and typically knocked off ~0.75secs every lap!

Quite enjoyed this pack from the 30 mins or so when I had a quick go last night. I feel the tyre situation at the moment is preventing me from getting a proper representation for the cars in this pack, so I'm going to reserve proper judgement for when patch 8.0 arrives. Very nice liveries on the cars though, glad to see some more liveries that look more race team like and include some real life companies/sponsors.

FFB on the Formula 3.5 is really bad, major center oscillation, even on default, guess they have been testing using the game pads again..some of the cockpits default views are really bad, sat so far back and in the air, not enough adjustments to play with, and one had a really dark cockpit exposure as usual, can't remember which as I really didn't like the DLC so got a refund, anyway hopefully your sort out such problems for other's.

You guys did a superb job again, the Lotus DLC is also amazing!

/ I started to loose faith in the DLC's, but these last two are amazing, and brought back my faith in you guys, keep up the goord work! :)

For all those people that are asking about the handling of the new Renault Sport DLC pack, please note that when Patch 7 was released last week, basically SMS messed up somewhat by trying to revert the tyre physics to Patch 5 levels (Patch 6 was acknowledged to be a step to far) but not doing it "properly" and failing to test the change sufficiently in their QA environment - thus most if not all tyres on all cars are currently not heating up sufficiently and this will feel somewhat like "driving on ice" (yes I am aware that on leaving the pits in some of the cars you start on stone cold tyres, but even with some temp in them, they don't warm up enough as they should! It is an acknowledged bug that SMS should be making people aware of more than they currently are)

I did warn about this issue affecting the Renault DLC pack last week but no one appeared to listen or care at the time. SMS will (or should) be fixing the tyre temperature issue in Patch 8 (due Jan/Feb next year) but until that point in time, enjoy your winter ice driving ...

AI has problems in turn 1.
They usually take the curb on the inside and there seems to be an invisible thing that makes them go either on 2 wheels, get instable, or to a very low speed.

My own car has no problem, except hitting AI since you don't expect them to loose speed there.
Once you know that, you can avoid them.
It's not just once or twice, it's almost every time and ALL AI are affected.
I took the curb at the same place a dozen of times: nothing wrong for me...

This was a Great DLC / Free Car this month.

I have only given them a quick drive, but I can see many hours going into the FR3.5, Megane Trophy V6, and the Radical RCX.

Another impressive dlc. I am absolutely loving the challenge of the Renault Alpine A442B.. Another enjoyable "classic" car to add to the collection.

A definite thumbs up from me.

It's interesting. I'm a two wheel racer who also loves car racing "simulation" games..whatever phrase you want to use. I just got "Dream Pack 3" for Assetto Corsa. I also have DIRT Rally "early access" version on Steam. What am I always drawn towards to race on?

Simple answer to that one is Project CARS as much as I rate AC and Dirt Rally. It always ends up being Project CARS for me..

O.K. it needs a bit more "fettling" and smoothing out. But what an impressive multi-platform racer it already is. Forza Motorsports? GT7? No offence anyone but they're just not in the same "ball-park" as Project CARS for me personally. Assetto Corsa will provide the only real competition I think next year on the consoles. Should be interesting I think.

Very good DLC, lots of positives including the apperture science Livery for the Megane Cup car. Just some minor points, is the Formula Renaults back wing meant to stay up when the DRS is active or is it an animation fault and also the R.S 01 should the dash lights in car be permanently on? Other than that I love the pack

Sometimes I really wonder how those DLC events get designed. We get a pack which includes 3 cars that run a one make cup series in real life... And all we get to use them in career mode is one tour event that is eligible for all of them?! And we have 4 tracks that get used in the real Renault Trophy Series (+ Monaco which is used in Formula 3.5) and the career event uses... Not even a single one of them?!

Very much this.

I was actually looking forward to this pack, some nice racers in there. But now, with all those cars having no use in career mode (apart of only one single little invitational event), I will probably skip this one. I rather save my money instead of wasting it on cars I barely race at all. You'd have so much opportunities to extend the career mode by lots of new races, events, series (even main career series) with all the DLC cars so far. This potential is hardly reached, though.

Now if there would be custom championships, we could have another talk about this. But with that being up in the air as well, likely no.

Great pack, lots of race cars :)

Strange FFB? I noticed that there are two settings in 'body' that are usually set to 100 are set to zero, well .1 ;) I was suffering some weird oversteer, and wheel reactions, putting them both to 100 (the same as the other cars I checked) seemed to clear it up and make the wheel less aggressive when pulled to center.

Had a blast with the new cars tonight!
On the Alpine though, the "ceiling" in helmet cam mode is doing weird stuff. A lot of graphical corruption, almost like a black moiré effect around the aperture where the rear view mirror pod sits.

It's me LotusTeam from Hong Kong again! Remember last time Asia region received Mojave DLC almost 1+ week delay? I hope it is not the case for the Renault sport DLC this time again because until now we haven't got any information on the Hong Kong PSN...so may need your help to check with Bandai again! Thanks!

2015 Renault Sport R.S. 01

WOW! this car and myself are made for each other, it's does everything I ask to do and more.
Fantastic throttle response and the brakes are superb, even the FFB is one of the best IMHO, I can feel everything the car is doing.

I know it's not one of the fastest, but it's great fun to drive, especially if you lower the downforce.

Thanks Umer! But gotta say the famous one-liners lately "I got a bad feeling about this" that we won't get the DLC before Christmas, and actually it is fortunately for you not living in Asia or Hong Kong coz rest of the other regions are having fun with the Renault sport DLC now...

Make a new uk psn account then at least you can download the free car to help pass the time until it gets released for you.

When I'm driving with helmet cam on PS4 I can't see any rear mirror in the cockpit of the Renault Mégane Trophy V6? Googled pictures of the real car and it seems like it should be there.

all i have to say is wow, what a lovely car pack. that formula renault 3.5 is a ******* treat to drive. its like hte gulf, but faster and doesnt tend ot break out on you on corner entry. that rs01 is quite speedy and handles surprisingly well, kind of how i wish the zonda-r handled. the the v6 hatchback is also a beast. that sounds absolutely superb. the old renault is decent, fairly tough to handle but surprisingly quick. the only car i dont like is the regular road car..it handles weird and crappy just llike them all.

The FFB on RXC is tooooooo light. The car is fast and I like the default setup. Actually I did not touch any setup on this DLC.

The problem again, is patch 7.0. On the RXC though is particularly bad because of default strength on FFB. It's like a Fiat power steering set to park mode -> FEAR.

Renault is not a brand here in the USA currently, so I don't really follow what they have been doing over the years. However, I will say that the racing cars in this bunch really surprised me. IMO, you are missing out if you skip this DLC.

I think you would love the RS.01 and V6 touring cars with no assists, especially the former, while the Formula Renault is a great challenge/drive (even if there are currently issues with how the rain tyres perform in dry conditions).

I like it with default setup... the problem the narrower tyres (at the front) that make it harder to turn-in (understeer) in comparison to the RS01, a.e..

I did a 2.06 at Silverstone IIRC after a couple of laps adjusting to it and I think that's a good time for this car. So it can't be THAT bad :)

Yup, I tried it yesterday with no assists. Talk about some serious throttle control. Makes me really wonder how it would have behaved with the 6.0 tire model.

Im facing an issue here with the sport 3.5, alot of torque, resulting in hitting the limiter and red lining at 181mph on straights, and the option to adjust final drive is locked, is there a fix coming for this problem?

I had my first go with the Trophy V6 yesterday and it was superb. The FFB is really really good, very communicative and useful.

Grip on cold tyres was tricky, grip out of slower corners was limited (delicate on the throttle and feel the car squirm), but other than that it was perfectly driveable even with the current patch 7.0 tyre heat issues. I liked it far more than recent attempts to drive GT3 cars

224806This has already been reported in a separate thread and as I pointed out in that thread, that is the road reflection you are seeing. When the light is slightly different, you can see through the windscreen into the cockpit itself, where you will see the 2 air ducts that feed air to the driver.

We don't have the V8SC here either and I can't wait to throw her around the corners with 2 wheels in the air :P

Although Holden it is the "same" as Opel or Vauxhall in UK we don't even have this type of car here for the average consumer. Taxes...

Ford, Holden, Mercedes, Volvo and Nissan 'Supercars' are 90% the same under the skin.
They share suspension, braking, drive trains etc built on a standard tube frame platform, the only variations are power plants and body shells.
The current generation Commodore has been designed and built by GMH Australia, the only thing they share with Opel and Vauxhall is a passing resemblance and the name.
I doubt Opel and Vauxhall offer a top off the line model powered by a supercharged 427 Chevrolet engine either.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Renault R.S. 01 when the pack first released and I first drove it. But the last couple days I have been racing it in the rain around Spa, Le Mans and Donington GP and I must say it is amazing fun in the wet and the AI are extremely well behaved.
