Looks very nice..!
I wish Playseat would address the lack of lumbar support though. They can get seriously uncomfortable with extended use. An ergonomic redesign is long overdue.

Have to agree with this, but still a nice looking starter product

Yep.

I've managed to get around it by strapping an alcantara lumbar log in around the velcro back panel. Works great & looks like it's actually part of the seat, but for the price of the Playseat you shouldn't really have to resort to DIY measures.

I bought a small rectangular cushion to do the same thing for my Forza Playseat but in the end sold the chair and fitted a Recaro instead for far greater comfort and no more Betty Swollocks from the fake leather vinyl.

Good to see this pCARS one is alcantara, but it really wouldn't take much for Playseat to pad the lower back area a bit. It's incredibly short-sighted of them to stick with the original profile.

All of the playseats on the market look great, this looks to be a great addition. Unfortunately I do not have the privilege of having space for using or storing one of these. The one posted above looks to be more comfortable than the playeseat evolution, then again, looks can be deceiving.

Lumbar supports on racing seats are normally removable.. so you can add any velcro attached support. I use a sparco one (they are normally cheap, depending if it's a fixed one or a inflatable one), they exists of every form and size.

Yeah, see my follow-up post above - I used a small cushion to get a similar effect. The basic comfort and support offered by Playseats could easily be improved though. I don't think the chair design has evolved much (if at all) since the product launched. Some rivals have far more ergonomic solutions as their basic overall design.

Remco, so your Playseat has the new pedal mounting setup? I'm wondering if it's an improvement over the old setup that I have. About every six months I have to remove the pedal assembly to tighten the pedal base. It has a tendency to start rocking left to right after repeated bouts of desperation braking. :)

Not directed at me I know, but I have recently replaced the old setup with the new one and it does seem much better. Must point out though that I hardly used the old pedal plate that could not be adjusted as the angle was far too steep for me to mount my pedals comfortably.

The new one is fully adjustable & seems to stand up to a bit of punishment fairly well. Ordering it however was a less than pleasant experience. Went back & forth with Playseat for 6 months before receiving the parts due to 'manufacturing problems'. The customer service was crap.

Nice, that seat itself looks pretty swank, though I still loathe their "between the legs" arrangement, makes everything they offer an absolute no go for me. =P

I hope you guys tested the seat because the playseat i have with the folding mechanisme is just crap.
The seat hurts a lot after 30 minutes because there is no support in the back and you feel the steel frame inisde pushing into you back.
I have to put a pillow in my back otherwise it gets very painfull, these seats certainly don't feel like real race seats

Looks really nice, but that is all.
Uncomfortable seat meats a pipe between your legs. Far away from a real car. And if you have a strong wheel base (Fanatec CSE, CSW,...) it is not stable enough to cover the forces. I had one in the past, was ok for the start but the enthusiasm did not last long.

Yep the whole pipe between the legs , didn't do anything for me I'm afraid....it does look nice though , but comfort first .
I built my own using a very comfortable car seat for about £50

I do like my PlaySeat but, If I had it to do over... The arrangement of the center post is really bad. I got a deal on mine but, feel there are better choices in that price range with no center post.

I had a playseat before my 80/20 rig and I didn't even notice the bar. Maybe I was just used to having a couple gallon gas tank between my legs in karting. Although not having it makes getting in and out much nicer.

As I“m quite tall, I had the problem that the center post was right behind the pedals. Heel“toe or braking with left foot was really uncomfortable for me. Now I“m using a aluminum self made rig with a real car seat, rock solid and much easier to customize (shifter, handbrake, placing of multiple tablets for app usage ;))

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking...how do you get on with the THA shifter ? Not sure whether it's a good investment or not .
I have a spare clutch pedal that needs a companion.

I have a spare clutch pedal that needs a companion.I got the TH8A shifter after the one that comes with the Logitech G25 started playing up. The difference in quality is night and day and, after nearly 2 years with it (I think), it hasn't missed a beat once. The only downsides are the lack of buttons that the G25 shifter unit has and the slightly less than instant swap between h-shift and sequential mode but, otherwise, I cannot fault it :).

the biggest problem of the playseat seats is if you had a stiffer brake pedal like my HE Sim pro pedals most of the brake power goes into the seat and not in the pedal itself.
i changed my playseat seat against a Sparco F200 and can transfer now much more power into the pedal because it is supporting my back better.
(if you got a normal T500rs pedalset or something else it doesnt matter)

Yea I could see that being a issue. I only had gas and brake pedal when I had my playseat. Good point.

I wish more seats were available with a Formula 1 position with a mean lean and the pedals around chest/chin height. The GT style doesn't tickle my fancy. Looks nice, though.

I had the Playseat Evolution and now have the Revolution Gran Turismo Limited Edition. While they are great seats, I wish Playseat would redesign and get rid of the center post. I've been trying to find a way to eliminate the center post and build a wheel base using pvc but still have adjustability. Playseat customer service sucks. Two different times I ordered accessories from them that the website said was in stock, waited a few days for a shipping confirmation. Then I had to email them to ask if it's been shipped yet, only to get a response two days later saying they're out of stock. Then had to wait almost a week to get my money refunded. Other then that whenever you email a question regarding a product, the answers take long and very short and uninformative. Always end up having to purchase from Ebay.

Yeah, the centre post is a silly design for several reasons: it makes operating three-pedal setups tricky, it makes access and egress to the rig harder than it should be, it compromises the overall seating position and comfort levels, and it provides a less stable wheel base than one supported on either side. The last one can be addressed by jamming strips of plastic into the gap between the two oval tubes to stop it rocking (I use offcuts from cable ties), but it's a flawed design to start with.

Like you, I got a good deal on my FM3 Playseat as it was effectively free once I sold the G29, amp, TV, shifter mounts etc etc that came with it (I bought an ex-demo unit from a game shop), but it wouldn't be my first choice if I was buying again. It's a decent entry-level unit but there are much better options out there.

Hmmm that's not fair, bought my TopGear Playseat around 4 weeks ago

So I was 4 weeks to early, or SMS/Playseat 4 weeks to late :-) :-)

Love the look of the Pcars playseat!!

This will be a very worthy upgrade to my 7 year old playseat evo, which has been great and done some serious hours. I actually find the seat very comfortable and have no issues.

I've been thinking of replacing my current seat, so the release timing of this is perfect 👌

The F1 Playseat they sell is my absolute dream setup. But it's, well..... expensive :(.

My mate has the redbull F1 playseat and as much as it looks great and is a more realistic formula one style driving position, he says it kills his lower back. I race him online and he always complains after about half an hour that he's hurting. So if you are keen on long sessions the F1 playseat may not be the best option.

Unfortunately I'll probably never get to find out (unless it reduces in price drastically at some point) - just can't justify spending that much on a seat.

Already conflicted about how little I use my current Playseat considering what it cost. The bloody thing cost more than the first actual car I bought :).

I have a 80/20 rig now, only way to go. Not the best pic but this is solid as u can get. Two Allens to adjust angle. Takes less than a minute to get out of seat adjust and tighten and it's rock solid. Seats not laid back in pic but you get idea. It's a 100 dollar upgrade but has 4 nice expensive hinges in it that do all the work.
