View Full Version : Make a wish - Project CARS 2
I remember reading something about persistent weekends somewhere, most likely early on in this thread, and so I hope this sort of gets bundle into that concept. I'd like to see a weather forecast for an entire race "weekend" when entering a given race in career mode. It'd be nice to know if rain is likely in the forecast for the race while I'm running practice. That way I could prepare a compromised setup in practice instead of a purely dry setup or whatever.
I know I have the freedom to tune before each session and make use of Free Practice if I want but I enjoy forcing a race "weekend" atmosphere in career mode for a little extra immersion factor. Knowing a generalized forecast would go a long way to help that.
My pCARS 1 experience was good overall, it's the racing game I have played the most ever. I think the dev team really nailed the pure driving simulation part. The aspects I found frustrating originated in the game wrapping the simulation if you know what I mean.
Here's my wish(list).
OVERALL
- AI improvements : better awareness especially in open wheelers, less avoidable corner cutting, more skill consistency for a given strength level between car models, more consistency between tracks, closer performance to the human player in rainy conditions
- UI overhaul
- No more almighty monolithic profile : split user settings, career progression, default setup, custom setups, ...
- Mechanical failures : add more random issues for AI and players, sanction stupidly fast downshifts and ridiculous brake ducts.
- Local save of all lap records no matter the game mode (like in Assetto Corsa) with an "incentive link" somewhere to encourage the player to try this local car/track combo in Time Trial mode and populate leaderboards
- Native implementation of pCARS 1 modders features : custom championship, multiple custom liveries, lights for AIs in bad weather and even a Crew Chief-like if it's not too much of a reach
- Manual pitstops with ghost crew (or no crew until the car is stopped)
- Randomized time between red lights and green at the start
- Manual control before green on rolling starts
- Rendering improvements : aliasing on faraway fence poles, occasional asset popping, low draw distance on some objects like grandstands shadows
- Approximate CPU/GPU/memory load display in the GFX options (e.g. progress bars) to evaluate the most demanding features
- More simultaneous time trials community events : add a monthly beat the dev/real driver contest time on the game like the Montoya one in Forza 4 a few years ago, a combo voted by the community beforehand, road cars challenges, rallycross stuff... to try to avoid the DLC car / current F1-WEC event / GT3 / Sakitto routine
- Selective leaderboard wipes
- Less "geek" partnerships on car liveries and tracks : hurts the immersion, promotional liveries can't be uninstalled - individually by design or because the DLC unchecking (Logitech) gets ignored in the long run, the nVidia stuff is really invasive at tracks like Bathurst...
- IndyCar licence : drivers, liveries, aero kits and as many tracks as possible
CAREER MODE
- Dedicated skill level for each AI opponent throughout the championship
- Variable championship schedules and (realistically) randomized weather in career mode, less sunset/sunrise races overall for kart races and invitationals
- Dedicated touring branch in career mode : something like Clio Cup > RS01 Trophy > BTCC-WTCC-like > V8 supercars > DTM (SMS-Marek-RWD equivalent is fine if the licencees are a pain again)
- Good/mid-tier/bad teams in relevant top categories like Formula A (maybe with a subtle built-in power deficit) and only 2 above-average/below-average tiers for other higher categories like IndyCar or Touring Car
- Ditch FanChat : it could be replaced by progress bars showing the different metrics at play for the next contracts unlocks and a link to a "career tree" to see what unlocks what globally
- Keep e-mails for contracts talks only and add the possibility for the player to make his own offers to team principals of any discipline
FINAL NOTES
Polish, polish, polish : don't launch too soon, 2018 is fine really. :)

For hybrid cars especially LMP1H will it be possible to have different electric power deployment maps?
The sudden onset of 1600Nm of the TS040 makes it a death trap in rain. I wonder if race teams modify it for inclement weather. If so, I'd like to see the option in the setup. We have a restrictor setting to limit engine power so an adjustment to electric output would also be great.
I have started playing again after giving up on the audio static bug while using version 1-8.
Now coming back to Pcar v10 I am having a blast now as the audio problem has disappeared! Something good must have come from those 3000 Xbox updates after all. Lol.
Now that is fixed I just wished the game stopped saving after each email in career mode. It is driving me as crazy as the audio bug did and is my new pet hate. It takes me 5 minutes to get back into the racing. And I love Pcars racing so much! Stop taunting me like that SMS!
My wish feature would be custom championship (as many others have already said, of course). And a garage mode that shows off all those long, hard hours that the vehicle team have put into the game. Come on SMS- lift that presentation level.

I think this would be more trouble than it's worth and I'd be in the minority supporting this, but...
The F-A is a fictional car built to F1 regs. If it's fictional, then why not open the F-A rulebook a little? The game supports different teams using different cars, so I imagine it'd be very cool to have differently designed F-A cars with different engines. It would be difficult to balance them, but would also create a little variety in the top open wheel class. I remember the F-A was originally supposed to have a V12 engine in a very early build of the game instead of the V8 it currently has.

Imo it would be interesting if they called the current FA "Formula A 2011" and made other FA cars based in other seasons (FA 2004, FA 2016, FA 1992, FA 1988, etc), and give us the options to setup up custom grids in solo mode, in that way we could setup some interesting races with all those different FA cars.

This is how I'd prefer to see it handled only because, though fictional, the FA still offers a sense of realism in that it's a construction that follows the 2011 regulations. What would be interesting though is if the creators behind Marek or RWD made their own FA car based on the regulations as well so we could at least have a second constructor.
I love the game but I would be interested in having real world F1 cars (Mercedes and Mclaren licences already exist for SMS) battling against Formula A.

What i would like to see in Project CARS 2:
-Custom grid. I know that in the pc version you can download the custom grid tool but i would love to see this feature implemented in the game so that console users can use it too.
-Obligatory pit stop (and maybe pit stop crew?). We have already this feature in on-line races, but since i am a single player guy i would love to see it in quick race weekends too.
-Custom championships. The possibility to create custom championships and maybe to share them to other players would be a fantastic add to pCars 2 and would make the game even greater.
-Weather and time. Pcars 1 has already a very well done dynamic weather and day-night system that makes this game the best racing sim IMO, but it would be great if SMS adds a setting that allows you to choose the weather and time of each practice session, qualifying and race.
PCars 2 has the potential to be the best racing sim of all time and it will DEFINITELY be if SMS adds these features, if it's true that it will contain 200+ cars and tracks and if they get rid of bugs and glitches. So please SMS and WMD we have faith in you and don't disappoint us ;)
(sorry for my bad english)
For Project CARS 2(Xbox One)
Custom Grid
Custom Livery

I know it's been suggested in the past, but I'd love to have long races (Le Mans?) with the ability to save progress while in the pits.

Its an interesting idea but doesn't that miss the point of an endurance race?

I normally don't race 24 hrs in a row. In case I don't want to team up with B-spec Bob, the save is a very welcome thing.
Until now I just pause the whole system, but it could be much easier with that feature.

Only had PC Goty for a week, and already from start miss the following to get to know the car and track:
a) bookmarks on tracks, to be used in solo events in realtime, and i replay in general. You can practise hard on difficult parts on a track, and also do optimizing of car tuning.
b) all data recorded for replay, like everything on HUD to cycle through what you want to check
c) separate controller mapping for modes like when racing and doing replay etc. Also gives a chance to teach user about what is there, not there is no info for replay.
d) proper help in all settings parts, tuning is not all bad, but otherwise does not tell you anything of real help.
Just a little help text at bottom altered with which options is active - truly context help - not just the same info text for all pages
Many things not shown among transport for replay still have functionality, but no idea what they do.
e) all cars and tracks from current PC compatible and automatically converted or just there
f) Custom fontsizes to determine size of HUD parts - some parts on not readable in playing position now.
Tracks and cars, I don't care - I think there is enough already - but ok maybe needed to sell game again for most people having it.
New disciplines maybe like rally cross, which are circuits still - but bring so many new thrilling things like allowed to push contenders away and stuff.
That full field of races like last man standing as well - you just have to get past that car in seconds or you are out if you are last.
Dirt series have it - but Dirt Rally just a few, I consider abandoned really. If to bring one new discipline - RX could be it.
Devs have made an incredible job so far, so I'm sure I'll get PC2 as well.
Highly matched sounds of tires slipping on tarmac adds beautyfully to the feel of it all.
Maybe PC2 can make Xbox Scorpio be as good looking as a PC now - and it already is stunning on X1. Scorpio is probably out when PC2 is ready to go.

I would love to see the backmarkers move out of the way when you are racing for the lead
When the AI makes a mistake I would like to see them slow down some when they are off course and also receive penalties like I would

Please make sure the PC version of Project Cars 2 can automatically detect your hardware configuration and adjust the visual graphics settings to achieve maximal performance. I can't tell you how much time I've spent manually tweaking the graphics settings and restarting the game. Many other high performance PC games such as Crysis already do this. Also, please make it so that you can mouse over each graphics parameter and see a brief explanation of what it is and how it affects performance. I had to Google to find out that something seemingly subtle like heat haze was what was slowing my PC down.
Hi guys,
As far as I know the following features were all rumoured to be in Project CARS but weren't:
Indianapolis
Mugello
Historic Spa
Suzuka (properly licensed)
Ford MkIV
RUF CTR3 SMS R
Daytona (for Project CARS 2)
Dallara DW12(straight away)
Ford Fusion Stockcar(Straight away)
Which of these do you want in the game the most?
Feel free to tell me if their are any more.
Ford MkIV - Limited Edition Upgrade DLC
RUF CTR3 SMS R - Modified Car Pack DLC
Dallara DW12(straight away) - US Car Pack DLC
Ford Fusion Stockcar(Straight away) - US Car Pack DLC
I didnīt understood the "Straight away"...
Thanks.Wanted to right after I posted it.
Straight away us the ones that I knew were in the game as DLC but could have been in straight away.
Please make sure the PC version of Project Cars 2 can automatically detect your hardware configuration and adjust the visual graphics settings to achieve maximal performance.
What is maximum performance though? That will be different from person to person with some going for eye candy at a reasonable fps like 50-60, some sacrificing fps for maximum eye candy and targeting 30fps and then other people sacrificing visual candy for higher fps. Crysis is also a terrible example of automatically choosing settings in my opinion.

How about paintjobs on cars making them personal enough to easily be picked out in a crowd of cars.
Both looking at replays in general but also for online purposes recognizing opponents.
It serves a function.
And winner should obviosly be pictured with car on leaderboard, maybe positon 1-3.
This both for races and timetrials.

Hey moderators. As I also created an FE thread (a couple of pages bacj) are you going to combine them.
PS I hope to.

You can do that.
All invitational events you've unlocked are available on every season, main season classes you've already played have available contracts at the end of every season.

I'm having so much fun with the M3 GT4 right now that it would disappoint me a little if this car or the class itself didn't make a comeback for pCARS 2. I'd love it if all the cars and tracks in the first game were in the second, even though some of the cars could become obsolete against the competition...
Either way, GT4 has some interesting cars. McLaren built a 570S GT4 and BMW is set to announce an M4 GT4 as well.

Like FS7 said, the events are always open for you to enter, but pCARS works within a career calendar, so if you missed a event in the current season, you must wait until the next year calendar to have another chance.
Also, your results in these events should not have any influence in your career, if the girl voice is to be believed. I'd like to find out more about this as I love to tinker with my games. I'd sell one of my kidneys for a spot in the WMD for pCARS 2 these days! Sad I missed the window. :(

Me personally I donīt like any race cars without a proper engine sound. But to be perfectly honest: e-cars are going to be the future, thatīs for sure. And as some countries already think about banning any new cars with combustion engines, future is closer than we might be aware of. So yeah, one day Formula E will belong into any current racing sim.So why not start now?

Wrist-slicing commences.
Relax.
Battery tech is still a while away from being decent enough for racing.
FE have to swap cars mid-race lol
Hybrids will be around until then. Still much turbo noise.
Maybe some hybrid V8 noises.
Maybe even jet-turbine-hybrid noises!
Maybe a few playing cards stuck in the wheel spokes.

The only countries thinking about banning ICE are Germany. This is the same country that flushed billions of taxpayers dollars down the toilet on wind turbines, which they are going to close in the next few years. Massive fail.
It is strategies like this that have people so fed up that they vote for trump, who by the way has promised to withdraw funding from the solar and wind nonsense, and to stop funding the global warming/climate change scam.
Electric cars are as pathetic today as they were 200 years ago, nothing has changed. what still remains is the "better batteries are coming" mantra. And what is still being ignored is the fact that the ICE just can't be beat from an economic, or environmental impact point of view.

Lol...
A few large solar plants have come on recently that are great. One in Spain and Morocco, and I thought one is being built in the Nevada desert or California?
Every house needs to be built more energy efficient, around the world. Residential building technology in Australia hasn't progressed in ~60 years. Still the same old materials with pretty new paint.
Nuclear power trumps (no pun intended) all other forms, and I think we should be concentrating on it more than fossil fuels. But people are idiots.
If large scale energy production was better and cleaner, electric propulsion for automotive purposes wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Sorry, but this is all nonsense out of Al Gore's propaganda pamphlet. Who, by the way, has gotten very rich out of this this so called clean or green energy.
There fact of the matter is this: CO2 is not only harmless to the environment, it is actually beneficial.
The choice is beteween pumping out harmless, life giving CO2 into the atmosphere or pumping out toxins such as hydrofluromethanes (a by product of solar panel manufacturing) which is thousands of times more toxic than CO2 and which nature cannot deal with.
And those massive car batteries don't fall from heaven; they have to be manufactured using rare materials and again producing vast quantities of supercharged toxins the likes of which our planet has not seen before.
That's why fossil fuels and the ICE make more sense that all this renewables nonsense, not only economically, but also environmentally.
If that weren't the case, the likes of Al Gore would not have spent so much effort and money in order to malign CO2. Because at the end of the day, if CO2 is harmless, then all their so called renewables crap is an excercise in futility.
By the way, do you know that Al gore has been found to be lying I'm his film "the inconvenient truth" on nine of his so called truths by the British High court and is now required to add a disclaimer to his film stating this fact?

Hey I'm steering (full of puns today) clear of the Trump/climate change/Al Gore/evolution debate.
Battery and solar cell production methods are energy intensive and toxic. Fossil fuels aren't clean either. It's all pretty obvious.
Will graphene and carbon nanotubes be the answer to our battery woes? I don't know. Does that mean we stop looking into it because Trump? I hope not.
Recently an all electric Rimac One prototype spanked a Porsche 918 down a drag strip. Not the most scientific of tests, and also very one-dimensional to the more sophisticated automotive enthusiast.
How do you not find that exciting? I mean have you taken the TS040 in the game for a spin? The way that thing launches out of corners is mind-boggling.
So, yes to more hybrids please. Formula E cars still don't excite me though: I mean why all the aero if the drag is so detrimental, on top of street tyres and low speed street circuits? C'mon...
SMS needs to look this guy up! I can see this working with the right sound engineer.

I don't mind hybrids in project cars. But I don't want e vehicles. Not only because they sound like crap, but also because they are impractical and economically not viable, being 6-8 times more expensive than ICE cars (as are renewables in general). They are also less green than ICE and required the global warming lie in order for their exitstance to be justified.
The bottom line is this: since CO2 is actually beneficial to the environment, electric vehicles don't make any sense, and I don't want Pcars to give this nonsense a platform.

I don't find it exciting because it's now almost 2017 and a formula e car built to go as fast as a current spec f1 car would only last about 3-4 laps of spa or monza before coming to a grinding halt with a flat battery. What's exciting about that?

We don't need to stop looking. What we need to do is to stop wasting trillions of taxpayer's dollars on nonsense like wind and solar, which simply does not work, and invest that money into cheap, reliable energy sources that have worked wonders for the economy and our quality of life for hundreds of years.
I'm all for innovation and doing things more efficiently, but let's first have something that actually works before making the shift away from fossils.
By the way, sorry about highjacking this thread again. I'll stop now.

I'm genuinely curious how Formula E cars would work in a game like Project Cars. I haven't played FM6 (don't know any other game that has FE), so I don't know how they work there when it comes to realistic "fuel." I can only assume they would be good for one "fuel" load if real fuel was used here (or there). Suppose that would be ok for some quick sprint races but nothing more. Or I wonder if a "fuel" pit would more or less equate to a car swap.

The hybrid LMP1s in the game already have adjustable battery regen if you play with the brakes bias (which I think is f*ing awesome job by devs).
Suppose you could plug it (oh the puns!) the same way and do 1 "car swap" for refuel? Like full tank time in the pits.

I guess it probably still work just fine. SMS probably only need to feed in the numbers of the car, the engine will simulate it just fine. I think the only problem is refueling as it probably need some new visual tech for battery or car swapping.
Really, I do not mind seeing a BMW i8 in pcars. Sound of an electric car is a smaller concern for me as many newer cars from super cars to GT3s, does sound comparably less impressive compared to older cars. I had seen real i8s on the road, it isnt that bad as I expected it to be almost completely silient while many new super cars are fairly quiet too.
I was at a motorsports event where they have a massive range of race cars from 1980s F1s to Group A to modern super cars and GT3s. I was really disappointed to hear the sound of a 2016 GT3 as the Huracan GT3 sounds comparably softer and less growl compared to the older Galladro GT3 that is on track. If I compared the 1980s F1s to the Huracan Gt3, the sound of Huracan Gt3 sounds pretty terrible while the 1980s F1 sounds defendingly fantastic.

Hey everyone!
It has been over year and a half since project cars was released!
That is why i think that we should give the devs some ideas and tell them about the things we want.

Top of my wishlist is for a formal update from SMS on how the PC2 development is progressing (or not)
Since there was already a wishlist...merged...
This graph proves the potential in electric to win the acceleration race... who cares about top speed when most tracks don't let you reach 200mph plus.. 236384
You cannot expect a dragster to drive on a circuit either...apples and pears...
Back on topic now please...

Somewhat ambitious but who knows.
This simulator is a visual jewel and raised the bar extremely high for others simulators to beat. Unfortunately, there are a few things that could be improved for Project Cars 2.
Consistent windshield shader on cars so the exposure is very slightly darker then the external car cameras. Some cars have very different glass "tinting" making the track either too dark or too bright.
Camera and seat settings should be saved per car and per views (helmet, hood, etc...)
Polygon interpenetration. Many tracks have unnecessary flickering due to the tires polygons behind the safety walls intersecting with the wall right in front of them. Silverstone Stowe is one of many examples. You should write a MAX or MAYA script to detect interpenetrations on each track.
Red or Yellow pixels around edges of hood (hood view) [random, no repro steps, but present with motion blur is on]
White flickering pixels when SMAA ultra is used with every settings cranked to Ultra. I have a dual Nvidia 1080 SLI setup. [consistent]
True Triple screen settings (distance, lens, monitor width, angles) using the new NVIDIA multi-camera shaders (aka Simultaneous Multi-Projection)
HDR support (if not already in).
Keep up the good work...
BTW, Jake Spade physics mod makes this game amazing. The feeling of the Accuforce is so much more real, every details come through.
Ignore years of rendering experience and real life exotic car track driving , I wish I could pay to join the PCARS 2 alpha/beta...

#3 bugged me for quite some time. It seems to happend to different assests too. Using various AA seems to affect the how much this is exposed.
My whishlist is Pcars 2 available in the first quarter of 2017 (and with VR day one).
Doable?

Ya know, Item 1 doesn't really bother me, since this is also representative of real life. Most cars have varying levels of "tint" in the glass to help block UV and to reduce glare, so I can live with it (yes, I know SOME cars in game are excessive).
As for the rest, I can agree with all of that.
Sorry if this has been answered before, but how come there are no videos documenting the different builds of Pcars 2, like there were for the first one?

Because some builds make it in the final game and some don't...that's where the problems started with Pcars1: people expected all those things to be in the game (so did SMS actually)
Now SMS doesn't show anything before it's certain to make it in the sequel...

That's too bad. I really enjoyed watching the progress of the original Pcars and I was hoping to do the same with the sequel. Those vids certainly did whet my appetite, that's for sure.
Proves the saying:"a few bad apples ruining the entire basket" :(
Too bad but i can understand SMS's descision...

Jacks files have nothing to do with physics by the way, as they just effect the FFB.

Good point, I stand corrected... let me rephrase it.. Use Jack Spade files (and all of the config choices) for FFB style selection for Pcars 2 :)

I'd rather not.
I tried his ffb a little. I thought SoP may be good idea but it just loads up the wheel and gives me information I'm not familiar with. So right now, I prefer default.
It'd be hard to tweak for every wheel due to performance differences, but I'd like a very natural ffb that makes it feel like a real car.

Can you bring back the real flat spotting behavior that PCars had when it first released? I've been playing AMS and you're punished severely for lockups in that title. So much so, that you'd rather run wide to control the braking than lock them up, because you don't want to deal with a savage vibration for the next XX many laps...LOL I think that kind of penalty might help curb some of the idiocy in MP sessions, if locks came at a race ruining price.

A little too much IMO, but it does make you judge your braking better.

I agree, might be a tad too sensitive. I don't have any RL experience, so I don't know how realistic that is. I do know speed and duration of lock play a huge part in the amount of damage it does. Definitely makes you judge your braking better, which is why I think it might improve MP. Of course, it also might lead to more rage quitting...LOL

Will SMS try to improve the racing simulation side of things? like, working flags, unpredictable AI, AI accidents which are not triggered by the player, AI failure etc....I think Devs have been doing a great job simulating cars and tracks (not only SMS mind you), but when it comes to simulating other aspects of racing, there is still along way to go....
The best Christmas gift SMS could give us this year would be some sort of PCars2 teaser, preferably a gameplay video.

That's one long review!
In the past couple of days I've reignited the flames of passion with Project CARS after a trial separation lasting several months. She's a beautiful woman, there's no doubt about that, but her enchanting smile is rather spoiled by that big lump of cabbage stuck between her front teeth.
Please tell me that the whole menu system and UI has had a complete logic-based overhaul..?
The plan is to improve the UI, yes. That's all I can tell you I'm afraid.

It takes a lot of time & money to negotiate the license, highly unlikely to happen imo.
If they allow mods in PCars2 the community will create all track locations you can think of for free.
I currently have 221 track locations in my rFactor install, imagine that much content in PCars2.

What if a mutiny starts when he's not looking? :p
From my experience driving endurance races at 100%:
-Longer practice for 24 hours races. One hour isn't enough to test the different compounds and the AI partner. Especially the AI need multiple laps to really judge what his average lap looks like, he tend to be blocked easily. Could be done in free practice, but i would the ability to judge the times against the competition.
-Ability to see the AI tyre wear. Can he do two or three stints, right now it's the big unknown.
-Ability to plan pit stops, especially for the AI. Right now demands to much micro management when you want him to do multiple stints on the same tyres. Would also go with the unscheduled pit stop board. Right now, it's like they never expect to change tyre or refuel. :D Also would stop the AI pitting with more than two laps worth of fuel.
-Ability to see when the AI plan to pit. Now we only know when he enters the pitlane.
-Having info when the other cars pits and also have the number of pits and the last pitstop lap written on the screen.
-And mostly stop the AI from cutting that much and also destroy the car. Never finished a race with penalties on and damage on.
Some overall stuff:
-Also have the race engineer available for all races and not just the season career races.
-Not being forced to map behind view and change view button. Or be able to set the behind view to focus on rear view mirror in cockpit view.

Makes sense to me, hopefully the menus and career will be altered as I found them a little confusing lol

Hello everyone,
According to the current hints on pCars2, i should summarize
our wishes in short, concise and precise.
What should make pCars2 better than pCars1?
For example in the Areas of .....
Optics and graphics
Content and Tracks
Simulation Feature
Design and UI
Online and Multiplayer
Damage physics and Optics
Force Feedback and Wheel Feels
Spectator and League Tools
And so on.... Then let's go, good luck!
Great to have additional cars and tracks, but I believe the quantity is not the "most" needed or important investment for PCars 2. Snow, mud, dirt will definitely be special if the driving physics will handle deformable surfaces well. In order to take users from iRacing and Assetto Corsa, I believe the following items must be really strong (on top of the best graphics from the current version).
Solid multiplayer
Eliminate the gameplay freeze when other players join or leave races. It make other drivers loose control or crashes into walls.
Eliminate stutters/freeze when getting into a contact with an object (cone, wall, car). It goes away after the 1st contact.
True global ranking system for example people should be heavily penalized for leaving races.
Ranking should be split into 2 categories, like iRacing, skills and safety scores.
Its amazing how clean the racing is on iRacing vs Pcars since there is a true consequences to actions.
Flag and penalties
Many keyboards, mouse and headsets have dynamically colored LEDs. iRacing uses those smartly to indicate flags color, keyboard shortcut, RPM revs, etc
It's brilliant. Please implement.
Mandatory qualifying before races, so fastest drivers stay upfront.
More sorting, and filtering option on multiplayer servers.
Perhaps a monthly fee is not a bad thing for cash flow but also to keep kids away from destroying online racing
Physics
To kill the never ending argument about which games have better physics, I suggest to allow people to choose a "physics" template, so they choose their preference. Exactly like the Jack Spade FFB did, but support it from the UI.
True triple monitor support and mirrors.
Look at how Assetto Corsa and iRacing implement it, it's brilliant and truly immersive. With Nvidia SMP, it should be simpler to support triple monitor and multiple adjustable mirrors.
Stability
Currently, this amazing game simply crashes too often. Please improve stability.

*snip*
6. Mandatory qualifying before races, so fastest drivers stay upfront...
I don't think that enforcing qualifying would meet everyone's approval. However, what I think would be helpful is to lock the session after qualifying begins. There's nothing worse than entering a lobby while qualifying is underway and find you have only 20sec before you hit the grid. No one can expect to have the right setup, fuel settings or even a basic familiarity with the circuit conditions in so little time, and this sets the stage for a lot of first-corner mayhem. Allowing the host to lock out new joining drivers at any point would be a big help.

A monthly fee is fine as long as its for PC users and not console users lol
....
Physics

....
really, you want different physics.. what would you like, different gravity, drag that halves with speed... I assume you are talking about how people interpret physics through FFB, rather than actually allowing different physics.
as for killing an argument about which game has the best physics, that will never happen as long as the average sim racer has a hole in their ......, too many just stick to their preferred game as the best no matter what (and
as pointed out by your own post, confuse FFB with physics) and plenty will brush off PC2 as made by "that" company (in the same way I've seen people refuse to play a game that is being given away for free, just because of the who the publisher is?!)
My wish is to be able to take either a 918 or a 917K around the Ring at midnight in clear crisp weather, or even some (Hopefully) included new point to point track, hey maybe something like the Transfagarasan highway.
My first lap in Pcars was the P1 around the Ring, so it would be fitting.

I hope we get more american tracks like Sebring, Road Atlanta or VIR. I don't know a recent racing game (except iracing) that features a big amount of american tracks, most are euro based.
You know Europe is made up of separate countries right? USA 7 tracks which think is the most.
Any good tracks would be welcome there are plenty of good ones from around the world, i don't really care where they are from
(North) America is also a continent :)

Yes, but we Canadians like to discourage that way of thinking..... too often we get lumped in with our friends to the south and forgotten about :D.
Your statement, in response to the previous posts, actually does it as well and here is why:
- All of the tracks mentioned by DusterBuster are in the USA.
- pCARS does not currently have ANY Canadian content at all.
- Great Canadian tracks such as Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport), Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Toronto Indy Street Circuit, Trois-Riviers, Mont Tremblant, Calabogie Motorsports Park.... none of these exist in game.
As you can see, while I understand your statement, Canada still gets forgotten in that approach.
EDIT: With all of that said, I would LOVE to see the tracks DusterBuster mentioned included as well. They are CLASSIC tracks with long histories.

I doubt we'll see that happen (mainly around steering angles). Most drift cars are modified to be able to support large steering angles. To support that the way SMS creates their vehicles, it would require separate vehicle models since they model the suspension and the physics geometry is taken directly from the model. I'm suggesting that unless it's designed to be a drifting car, it likely won't have support for those steering angles.

One of the reasons why I love Project Cars is the soundtrack.

If this particular track was in Project Cars 2, I would be immensely grateful. :)
Can we put in multiple cars per pit stall (such as those Nurburgring or Dubai 24-hour races)? I don't like the idea of having a 36-car field in Dubai in the original pCARS; I heard the field in this weekend's 24h Dubai was approaching 100.

The whole NFS Shift soundtrack was awesome. I was so glad SMS continued the theme with pCARS, but a few more tracks would have been nice for variety.
I really really beg and wish they will give us an option to save different setups on the same track. Changing them manually is a pain.
Something like downloading setups from database.
Everytime I want to try a setup I have to manually change every setting.

Ok my wishes:
- Setup system that works as follows: save ingame to specific circuit, multible setups possible per circuit. Option to select setups on another circuit as start base besides default (f.e; take the Silverstone setup for first run at Monaco if i want (don't know why i would want that but you get the idea).
- Zandvoort and Daytona 24h layout, New York based circuit (loved the old Gran Turismo one).
- Pitstop with suggestions (times i started a race and didn't edit a stop strategy: more than two hands)
- PSVR support (whoohoe!)
- in practice option to drive only certain sector of circuit for setup purposes
- FFB and al control settings adjustable ingame (like F 2016)
- replay highlight creator
- option to share setups online
- livery editor

I will surely be buying pcars 2, since it can only be better than pcars 1, and I spend quite good times on it.
But the presence of a ranking/matchmaking system will decide if I buy it day1, or if I will buy it later, when sold very cheap, for quick entertainment.
As I said, I experiences great times on pcars 1, but also very bad ones too. Being disappointed in single player modes, I switched to MP, but it was a jungle without any safety/ranking system. You had to play in leagues to be sure to play with non-wreck drivers, but you had to respect a calendar, and it didn't necessarily put you against players around your level either.
I do hope the SP modes will be enhanced (as other modes too ^^), but in the end, MP will be where I will spend my time once I finished SP. So it better be well though this time.

I just started playing PC, and have played MP the last couple of weekends.
Like it a lot except that the trolls and rammers need to be tamed.
Appreciate that it is difficult for the devs to write code that identifies a specific guilty party (when two or more are in a collision), but there are some evident blatant pushes and rams. This needs to be addressed in PC2.
Also frustrating to see cars go off track, even hit armco etc but not even slow down! This also encourages the rammers (little negative effect on race position in pushing someone way out).

For PCARS 2, I'd like to see the single-player, multi-class racing improved. I don't want to race just with classes of one type, full variety would be great. Really hope they look into that. Enjoying what I'm hearing so far.

Try not to join servers which are not using damage and/or flag rules. It doesn't solve every problem, but it makes most go away.

I'd love to see the 2016 #5 Toyota TS050 hybrid make it into PCARS2. That race at Le Mans was so epic, those last 6 minutes so heartbreaking. I was rooting so much for them, after 31 years of participation and driving so strong with 2 cars, they deserved the 2016 victory. What happened in those last 5 minutes is the most emotional moment I've ever experienced watching a race and I doubt it will ever be replaced with a stronger moment. That #5 deserves a place in PCARS history.

That is precisely how I feel about 24h du Mans 2016. I was on Twitter duty for TGRfans and when Kazuki came on the radio and reported power loss I got that horrible sick feeling in my stomach. I felt like crying when he pulled over on the main straight.
The TS050-HYBRID is my most wanted addition for PCars2 as I must put it right. Getting the triumvirate of 2016 LMP1-H would be terrific. I have a prototype addiction and cannot stop using the Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 in Assetto Corsa.

"Gutting" doesn't even come close. I have no idea how it must have felt to have been Kazuki Nakajima at that moment but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have felt good :(
my wish is for better shadows cast by trees over the track, and LOD (mainly the fences) not appearing so close to the driver (maybe can have a setting for these so high end pcs can eliminate this issue). These were the two main graphical issues I had, as those were the only things that reminded me I was playing a video game when racing in 4k with a wheel.
Also an options setting to turn windshield glare/reflection off (cockpit cam). I know it is not realistic to turn this off, but it just really interferes with the amazing graphics too much. overcast and rainy races look so much better than sunny ones from the cockpit because of the glare/reflection. and more options is always good!
The rest is already being addressed from what I have read, so really can't wait until release...

Please, divide the game into two games
After loading the game, a welcome screen asking you to choose one of the options:
OPTIONS
1) casual players = here the player can configure everything
2) professional players = here you will have to play from equal to equal, according to the rules of each car and track.
Joining such distinguished players is a bad idea, but fun.

Otherwise, I agree that the game would benefit greatly from soft shadows instead of crisp ones.

I remember playing with those(I may be wrong, memories...), and depending on the track and time of day, the popup on some fence is always there, regardless of the settings you mentionned. A dithered "buffer" between close and far may be a solution. I don't know.

Only one important thing: a (text) file based setup save system(with a separate file per setup). And it would be nice if every setting(even those not exposed in the UI) is in a text based file too.
Oh and differential-based speedometer reading, not GPS. So the car measures the speed from the wheels. :) So when your wheels spin, your speedo speed spikes, like IRL.

I hope for more classical tracks in PCARS 2. Just been driving the Historical versions of Silverstone in Project CARS (1975) and Assetto Corsa (1967) back to back and the one from Project CARS just has a TON more atmosphere, the one from Assetto feels so empty. The tracks are the same as well with the exception of the WoodCote chicane in the 1975 layout.
I know a lot of work was done for historical Spa in Project CARS 1 but unfortionately the track never made it in the game. Keeping my fingers crossed it might find its way into PCARS 2.
Mmmm...historical Spa...
Hope it makes it too..

Indeed, the true palace of speed (and danger :p) it once was. That version is in Assetto Corsa though (even laser scanned), indeed love the oval and the speed. :)
All those classic tracks with long straights and wide corners like Silverstone, Spa, Monza, Hockenheim also make driving the old race cars from the 50s, 60s etc a lot more fun since often staying on a straight line and getting your braking distances right is already a challenge, and IMO the main challenge those cars should bring. You just don't go zig-zagging through chicanes on modern tracks with it, it feels so wrong.

Another thing I would really like to see in PCARS 2 and I don't think any racing game has done this before is time trial leaderboards per car. With that I mean is that I would like each track configuration to record my best lap time with each individual car. Suppose today I feel in the mood to race on Silverstone International in a variety of cars, I would like to be able to compare my best times in each of those cars. So my personal leaderboard for Silverstone International would for example look like this : (fictional times)
1 - 1:15:32 - Toyota TS040 Hybrid
2 - 1:39:43 - Radical SR8
3 - 1:44:14 - Pagani Huayra BC
4 - 1:53:13 - Audi R8
5 - 2:08:23 - Renault Clio Cup
etc etc, the more cars I will drive on this track, the more the list gets populated. And of course when I improve the time of a car already on the list, it will be updated.
I could also toggle filters between ALL and CLASS so that once the list gets very populated and I want to see how my Renault Clio score is holding up against other road vehicles, I don't have to scroll through pages of Formula, LMP, GT and Touring cars first.
I realize that would be a lot of data to collect, for example with 100 different track layouts in the game and 300 different cars that would be 30.000 possible combinations, not that I think anyone would ever drive with all cars on all tracks. :) But this would mean so much to singleplayers who enjoy time trials but don't want to compare their times with other players, but just want to compare their own times in different cars. And it would be great to be able to analyze the data of one track and compare it to another one and see how much influence the track layout has.
Optionally of course, it would be nice to be able to compare each of those times with other players in the world and see how I rank in a certain car on a certain circuit. If I could go through the above list and scroll down to the Renault Clio for example and then select "compaire to the world" then I would see how I would rank worldwide with the Renault Clio on Silverstone International. Additional filters there could be ALL - FRIENDS - SAME DEVICE (wheel vs controller) - REGION (US/EU/Asia) etc.
But the core of this request is, I would really like to be able to compare my own times in different cars, it would mean the world to me.
As it is in Project CARS I could really enjoy driving around lap times in a Renault Megane Trophy for example but when I compare that online it just gets lost in the clutter of all Arial Atoms on top of the charts.
Also another fun thing about this: With all cars in post-release DLC car packs I would already have some reference to compare them to. Let's say the 2016 Toyota TS050 Hybrid is a DLC car in the future, I could immediately race it on tracks I usually race my LMP cars on and compare its times to my personal best in the Audi R18, the Oreca, the Alpine, etc and I could immediately start challenging myself.
EDIT - If this would be too much data to store on online leaderboard servers then please still allow us to store this locally on our PC/XBox/PS4. In a driving/racing sim comparing all of the cars with each other within my own racing skill limits is one of the main things these games are about.
Another thing I would really like to see in PCARS 2 and I don't think any racing game has done this before is time trial leaderboards per car.

Could the leaderboards not be restricted to time trial? Fastest laps on real tracks are also not limited to solitary runs. If it makes any difference they could record if the car received a draft from an other car in that lap and make that a flag so it's easy to filter 'unaided' laps.I say this because I hate solitary hotlapping and find it unrealistic.

Here are my wishlist for PCars2 (I didn't read every posts here so I bet I probably repeat you guys... But better repeatting, it might have more impact on devs ) :
GUI
- "seamless setting transition" (can't find a proper term) ie : when you reach the foremost left option, immediately reach the foremost right option by going left again
you do that for the setup categories (clicking left bring us from tires to engine), but why not in the car/track choice or wihin setup page (tire type <-> traction control) ?
- simpler car choice system (show them per category, then switch them using up/down)
- simpler livery choice system (switch them using left/right in the car choice page)
LIVERY
- custom liveries visible to all
TRACKS
- localized weather
SETUPS
- create/edit multiple setups per car per track
- make the current PCars1 summarized setup as the primary way to setup the car (much better readability, more intuitive bcs it's per wheel based)
- add/clarify setup help text (I've played 600+ hours, I discovered few days ago that we could edit setup in the summary page. I bet some ppl still don't know it's possible)
- undo/redo setup changes (last 5 or 10 changes) not needed if we can save any amount of setups
AI
- punish AI's off-track driving
- edit AI behavior, they drive as if players did not exist (make cars *not* follow the driving line when there's an opponent on it in its vicinity. This is what I believe happens)
TIRES
- no more blue tires
CHAMPIONSHIPS/RACES
- keep current settings/options, they're good and add the following ;
- differentiate flags & penalties
- no auto-drive in the pits
- ability to mix different categories (lmp, gt3...)
- choose-able (why not ?) pace car
- custom championship, with an editable list of racers and spectators to make it private/public
- total freedom to set the starting grid (that we we can span a race over several days. Have 1h qualifs on friday, shutdown the server, then set starting grid on sunday)
- more time options (x24 time multiplier)
- establish driver safety rating (I don't see any use of level rating in PCars system). Griefers are a real pain in the butt. Many players have turned away from PCars because of multiplayers being a real mess !
Unfortunately, there's a joke going around sim racing players : if one can't drive properlly, ppl will make fun saying "go play PCars". I think this tells a lot about multiplayer.
- match making, using ratings, make safe drivers match each others, and rammers have fun together. SMS will retain players & keep everybody happy.
- team racing (ie several drivers relaying)
MISC.
I know the devs want to emphasize on esports... Here are misc small ideas that, imho, might help
- add more camera views/angles (mainly for replays and spectators).
- add key mappings (and/or drop down menu) to those cameras so the spectator can directly select the view of his choice ; it'd hurt internet viewers' eyes if the spectator has to cycle through every views just to find the one he wants to display.
- save the replay live so the spectator can rewind/forwaed action and review it at any time so she can watch incidents again and discuss it instantly/afterwards
- make a key map to directly access a car which is an actor in a race event (pitting/incident)
LIVERY
- custom liveries visible to all
TIRES
- no more blue tires
For custom liveries to be viewable you would have to download every livery being used in that lobby for your game to be able to show it, so it's possible but not entirely practical.
By blue tyres do you mean cold tyres?

Is it possible to merge the leaderboards for PC, Xbox1 and PS4 into one?
I agree with this but there should be a toggle setting like in FH3 to show "current platform / all platforms". Then people can set it as they like. Another nice toggle would be "current device / all devices"so that you can filter on controller vs wheel as well if you like.
Please please please more Australian Tracks

Barbagallo Raceway please and thank you.
Never heard of it it sure looks like an interesting track. Long straights and wide curves without hairpins or too technical areas.
Has my vote as well! I want more of these less knowsn tracks, screw stuff like Sebring, Indianapolis, etc. Except for Daytona, that track is cool just for the Daytona 24h. :)
Hi,
My whishlit for Project Cars 2 is : "More real experience of racing", as in "real racing".
GUI:
- All items can be used with a gamepad (xboxOne, PS4, ...). Ex: exit cross don't available with gamepad : very rare but happens.
- Gamepad is available during all sessions : Ex: when i refresh online session menu, sometimes only mouse is available (on Pcars 1). A restart is then necessary.
- Car Setup is available during all races/championship, without exit actual race. Ex: Communautary session.
- Steam Profile is secured/backup, to avoid restarting the entire career, losing all settings, all options.
CAREER:
- More interesting trophees or collectibles, like specials liveries or sponsor to unlock, specials parts or prototype cars.
MODS:
- addition of mods or progress in career does not destroy the steam profile.
LIVERY:
- high resolution liveries available. Actual default size is 1024*1024, and have "Poorly defined textures and draws".
i wish a default 2048*2048 size or 4096*4096.
- Custom liveries (made on PC) are shared for all. Ex : Last NFS 2015-6.
- Custom liveries viewable for all.
- Brands liveries are stock as default, for all cars. Logitech, SMS, nvidia, more...
WEATHER:
- Rain is present on parts of the track.
- The "fine" or "little first" rain (from the beginning of the rain until the stop) is visible from the cockpit, not just from the external view.
- Windshields/Windscreens become dirty (rain, dust) as the race progresses, or because of projections from other competitors.
- The rain goes in the direction of the car.
SETUPS:
- a car is setupable easily for a beginner (because description and impact of choice are very clear for most of players).
- impact of user choice is visible : acceleration, brake, handling, oversteer/understeer. Ex: Forza shows choice and impact for acceleration, brake, etc...
- create/edit multiple setups per car per track.
HANDLING:
- Better handling or same sensation for Gamepad users compare to Wheel users.
RUMBLE:
- With Xbox-One gamepad rumble is available on Acceleration and Brake trigger or as actual on body.
Ex : On forza Motorsport, rumble is available on trigger and gives sensation.
PIT STOP GUYS:
- for all championship, guys change the tires, put gasoline and wash the windshields.
GRID GIRLS:
- For rallyCross Championship minimum, as exist in real Championship. As NFS Shift1&2, but more beautiful ;-)
USER NAME:
- names of the competitors are not visible through the ground, trees and mountains.
- size of the names does not take up the largest part of the screen, in external view.
AI:
- punish AI's off-track driving. Not exist actually.
- punish AI contact. when the pilot progresses on the starting grid, the AI does not see the human players and passes an opponent by making a contact.
- AI avoid other competitors stopped on track.
TIRES:
- no more cold tires for racing cars. If you are on Pro Team, you have guys to take care of the heating blankets on the tires.
DRIVERS/PLAYERS:
- Choose Racers, spotters, spectators.
- A player can show race as spectator.
- Driver portrait available with number of race played, rating, etc. ex: e-sport stats.
- Some players can race in a team. Ex: for endurance race, each players on his PC, and players turns until end of race (24h Mans).
CHAMPIONSHIPS/RACES:
- no auto-drive in pits.
- Custom Championship exist : different categories (lmp, gt3...).
- Endurance Team Races, with racers. Simple. ex: 24h Mans.
- Pace car exist and i can choose my car.
MISC.:
- Engine smoke is visible from the cockpit, not just from the external view.
- More Languages et voices available: Not Only English.
- DirectX12 available.
HELPS:
- A real and usable help is available for all parts of game. Not a simple page with a little help.
SEASON PASS:
- A season Pass to avoid to pay 49€ at beginning and finally approx 103€ after all DLC.

yup !
Obviouly, not the entire lobby shcould get them, only the session creator's clients, those people who're going to need them
Client checks on local wether it already has liveries based on a hash for instance
Say you've got a 30 players race => serve them, and them only, the liveries. It's very quick and done every time a racer joins.
By blue tyres do you mean cold tyres?
yep ! (oh it's tyres, not tires, thanks :o)
GT3 start free and qualif' sessions with hot tyres, many other cars don't. It's... disturbing at best.
Why would other teams not have tyre covers ? Makes no sense to me

Sorry for double post, I forgot one important wish and I believe it doesn't belong to my previous post
RACES
- Add an option limiting (or not) the number of tyre sets available for the whole race (free run, qualif' and race itself)

True, but it would be nice to have the option to set tyre blankets to either on/off/real for any car we want, just like we do for TC, ABS, damage, etc. More options are always welcome imo.

For free practice it'd be handy^

Exactly this I would rather they keep it true to the series regs, I would only ask for a more realistic AI cold tyre behaviour. Not everything needs options but that's just me.
Hidden Valley would be nice, too...
Would be pretty nice wouldn't it. Kind of a shame the only Australian tracks a lot of the world know are Bathurst and Phillip Island when we have so much to offer.

At least there are Australian tracks in the game already, well, one at least. There are 0 Canadian tracks........
Even New Zealand made it before Canada....

Hi all! :)
What we want from Project CARS 2:
user-friendly interface,
FFB normal settings,
stable network code,
lazerskan for all tracks,
licenses for all cars and series,
lack of lag and bugs,
even more advanced and realistic physical model,
greater diversity of the fleet,
proper implementation of the pit stop,
the implementation of the pace cars and Safed,
support triplskrinov and BP ...
One of the things I fear the most about project cars 2 is that you developers end up listening to the people who want project cars to handle and feel like assetto corsa.
Just in case, I though you would need to hear something like this, regardless you may believe me or not.
Assetto Corsa is far from being the real thing. Road Cars for instance feel like most unreal and slow thing you could ever drive around with. I mean many folks think that's the real deal because they're extremely difficult to drive, and you can't even properly counter-oversteer aboard grip monsters like the old F40, FortGt40, etc, which it is actually bordering on the ridiculuos rather than real physcis
People mistake real handling/physics for extreme difficulty/to go slow, and in my opinion they could not be any more mistaken.
Assetto Corsa is hard just for the sake of being hard, not to mention it's always felt to me like a bad copy of Rfactor.
On the other hand we have the first Project Cars, which is not only the more complete product (weather; tracks, etc) but also features a real enough handling model for road cars and gt cars alike, which makes the driving cars in this game the most fun experience, at least with a t300 I own, I've ever hard. You can even counter-oversteer when the car loses traction!, and that is also the real deal as opposed to what many guys who consider themselves to be the purist seem to think.
Driving around the Nords in a ruf rt12 (or any other road car to be honest) with medium street tyres performing crazy drifting maneuvers, or just using the track soft ones to focus more on grip and do faster laps; the prototypes; the formulas..., everything, just everything in project cars feels so good and rewarding.., and real enough.
The point of the post was then..., please. Keep project cars 2 handling model just as similar as it is already in the first instalment. Driving on Ice and having literally no control over your car, specially when driving road cars (assetto corsa), is far from being the real thing
I know evolution is a must, but in my opinion the only tweaks needed could be related to some sightly changes on the diffs, and little more. Perhaps making the tyres heat a lot more when running low pressures (you bugged this I'd say with the latest patches). Running very low pressures should cook your tyres as well as wear them out quickly. Latest patches literally took this out of the tyre model, or perhaps patches bugged this old feature we alread had in the vanila game.
Please don't make project cars 2 handling/physics like assetto corsa. Assetto Corsa physics, specially aboard road cars are not good, because they mistake realism for being difficult just for the sake of being difficult.I love project cars adrenaline/real enough driving and would like pc2 to continue feel like that, because pc1 is simply speaking, best racer out there right now.
And if possible do not revolve around rallycross too much. Keep project cars as a racing track game primarily. And bring more British touring car tracks (while keeping the old ones alrewady featured).
That is all I'd like to ask.
Thanks for reading the honest wall of text.

fear not for i am with you :p
If you you only fear pcars 2 to handle like AC, then calm down and get a cuppa. Everything will be fine.

GTR3 Sound....coming in 2018.
What about Sound in Project Cars 2 ?
YES... Sound is Everything!!! (for me)
Been to see some testing: the feeling of the lower register punching your chest and the reverb bouncing off the buildings and landscape, whine of the drivetrain, scraping of the splitter, crackling of the unburnt fuel on the over-run.
Will be comparing those emotions with Deftones full-chat at Alexander Palace, May '17
W.r.t. the handling of cars, SMS listens to the numerous handling consultants (i.e. real-life race drivers) that have been asked to give feedback on the game. Reality is the benchmark, not other games.
W.r.t. FFB feel, SMS is listening to the community what they like about the FFB of other games and see if and how that can be used to improve the FFB in pC2. Some things are taken in, others are put aside :)

The goal for the Devs is to get the cars feeling/reacting just like they do in real life..... period.
But as with most sims.... some will love it and some will hate it, personally I love it.

Isn't that the same thing they had posted 5 years ago when GTR3 was first mentioned?
Yes, that video was uploaded in 2011. It's not a recent one put together for the new announcement.
Still sounds bloody great though! :)
I drove a Ferrari F430 (https://www.google.ca/search?q=F430&espv=2&biw=1300&bih=897&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj10fOTuPHRAhUp3IMKHZiHB4EQ_AUIBigB) on a track once (https://www.google.ca/maps/@46.6325789,-71.7894978,735m/data=!3m1!1e3), for 5 laps, with a professional co-pilot.
The co-pilot knew the track well and was really good at helping me get to the boundaries of my skills.
The cars wasn't even equipped with a race trim. I knew it was going to be a fun drive... But you can't imagine even imagine how good this car handles. Even if it's a road car, it's not meant for road. It's a sky rocket.
The acceleration is awesome, as expected. The sound it makes, revving to 8k! But the brake part is(almost) more impressive. You don't feel the nose diving, you feel you get pushed foward instead. It slows on a dime(Like we say around here).
From my PoV, supercars are easy to drive and are far from sloppy.
On a side note, everyone merely interested in race sports or cars should rent a supercar on a track for some laps. It's a once in a lifetime, breathtaking experience! :D

W.r.t. FFB feel, SMS is listening to the community what they like about the FFB of other games and see if and how that can be used to improve the FFB in pC2. Some things are taken in, others are put aside :)then it is even project cars the model to follow and not assetto after all. That was my main worry and point of the post, because there are some very vocal people out there that overly insist that assetto is the model to follow, and that, at least regarding road cars, it can be. Assetto Corsa model with road cars is the worst thing I've ever seen. No control over your car at all.
I'll give you the example I like the most. Just try the ruf rt12 in project cars regardless the tyres (softs or the veryfun street tyres), and see how much you enjoy the ride (is that not realistic then according to those assetto purist, just because I can control the car? = they are wrong imo), and then try the same car in assetto corsa. You can't just drive it. It's like riding on ice. No tyre model at all, and almost zero control of the car. Not to mention when you choose grip monsters like the F40 and the ford GT40 in this game..., it's just totally unrealistic how difficult they are, and all just in the name of "simulation"?. That simply can not be simulation.
The goal for the Devs is to get the cars feeling/reacting just like they do in real life..... period.
then that's even better, because that means project cars is in the end the realistic one and not assetto, with the difference you can have control over your car in project cars (road cars at least), while in assetto you just have no control at all. Seems to be difficult just for the sake of being difficult.
I love it too man. Project Cars is a blast, and that was also the point of my post.., I'm just sad for all the bashing the game has got coming from all these "purists", which at the same time made me fear SMS may eventually give up to their complaints, and turn PC2 into some sort of assetto when it comes to handling and physics. I hope they eventually don't listen. That was the point of my post.

According to assetto corsa, road cars are not fun to drive. They are like driving on ice; almost imposible to rectify overteer, etc.
We really need more people like you telling the "purists" that reality doesn't equal extreme difficulty.
______________________________________________________
This is what I think PC2 might need to be just perfect:
- Minor tweaking on the diff model, specially the accell one
- Fair punishment on those who run very low pressures. Way more overheating and wear on those who abuse this, not just that lack of grip when they reach some certain temp. Lack of grip combined with the absolute overherheating+wear out
- The box pits developed in its entirety. To give strategies more importance via pit boxing when you do long races.
That would be all, apart from keeping PC1 handling.
Btw.., as a t300 owner.., fixing the t300 ffb bug would be very much appreciated. So to you guys that are already playing pc2 and use a t300..., has this bug been fixed?

Assetto Corsa as Project cars does some cars well and others not so much.
Ive been in an M4 around Oulton Park - both driving myself and been driven around in anger by Declan Jones a Pro racer (Ginetta GT4 guy). The AC BMW M4 is spot on handling wise with my (limited) RL track experience.
Likewise Project Cars JPLM around Oulton Park is incredibly close to the real thing I experienced.
Im ok with them looking at both to see what works best.
I also much prefer PC general road feel and tendency to sense the bite of the front tires more but only on certain tracks.
The real smooth ones like Silverstone/Brno Im not a fan of - no car feels planted there and there is no real feedback/bite sensation Im getting from the wheel.
Silverstone AC is much much better for road feel the Project Cars Silverstone to me.
Although nothing touches Oulton Park, Donnington, Cadwell, Snetterton and Watkins Glen in Project Cars - to me most cars there are absolute perfection.
