I like this game but the increasing number of bugs I'm encountering and slow response from developers makes me wish I waited for a sale instead of getting it on launch.

I'm having trouble heating tyres up , GT3 Ferrari at Snetterton in the 2nd round of the British GT3 championship and its raining in qualifying . My tyres are hovering around the 40 mark and no matter what I do I can't get any heat in them . Also don't they use tyre blankets as I always leave the pits cold ?

buying a new game at launch is like buying a brand new car there is always bugs and glitches that pop up. Why do you think so many new cars have recalls. i dont agree in it i think a game or car when sold should have all bugs worked out first but then again thats in a perfect scenario unfortunately real life reality isn't a perfect scenario. Bugs and glitches will happen and SMS has to replicate those problems first before they can fix them so it will take time have patiance, and im sure Pcars2 isnt your only game you have either play something else if you must in the mean time.

You want them over here or working on the patches?

I'm pretty sure the response he meant was the patch(s). Not words here.
I understand everyone is getting a bit tired of the negative-- just a couple patches away from getting that behind us.

Bugs annoy me too, but the launch version of the game is stable enough to avoid them for the time being and still have a great time.

The slogan 'Anytime Anywhere' is a perfect fit for the online disconnections as it turns out.

When you get in it is usually brilliant though.

Don't know if it's a bug or I'm just blind and missing an option somewhere. Hoping it's the latter.

HUD shows PSI for tire pressures and C for brake temps, but telemetry screen shows BAR for tire pressures and F for brake temps?

Some comments on online I wanted to throw in here:

- I can't find lobbies my steam buddies make, doesn't matter where they are from (EU like me or the US), their lobby doesn't appear when i have 'all' enabled. Only once I saw them appear, but the next 10 or so games we had since then we had to send out invites each time.
- The favorites don't work still? Wanted to save a lobby setting but I just got blank widgets.
- We experienced a bug online this evening that after both me and my friend started the session, our wheels nor pedals weren't working. We had to restart the whole game before we had inputs registering (restarting the session didn't work). I had it happening yesterday too, but seeing you now have 2 dudes in different countries with different hardware experiencing it I'm pretty sure its another bug.
- It would be nice if the host could skip or restart the session when it began already. Maybe the button is there and we just didn't see it?

If these subjects were mentioned already in the gazillion threads out there my apologies, it's bed time and I didn't want to spend the next half hour searching.
Also if others have some advice for these issues please do chime in :).

Bit late for a first thoughts post but here goes anyway...

At uni currently but I went home to play the game on release day, (family thought I was coming to see them! ;)) and it was amazing!

I first raced at Knockhill with the new snow & rain weather transitions and then I tried ice racing, then some rallycross, then Indianapolis, then karts, multiclass GT3 racing and Formula X... arghh, so much to fun to be had but not enought time. I could only play for one day and couldn't possibly try everything out but I tried my best! It was so much fun and so much improved over the first game that I can't wait to get back to the play game over Christmas. So many more features and modes I'm looking forward to including career, online multiplayer and some DLC maybe out by Christmas too.

Thanks for a great game SMS! It's going to be a long 11 weeks.

Exactly! If I had PCars2 in my room it would be the biggest distraction especially if I brought my wheel too. There would be zero chance of me passing any exams. I just wouldn't be able to resist a quick race after lectures and then just 1 more etc...

well maybe they should be teaked?
I made all my Frookie championship on wet tires because they were way faster than slick and they were not overheating nor got any wear

I wasn't saying there isn't a bug, clearly there is in regards to heating but it seems to be track specific and sometimes the tyres are working as you would expect with normal heating and the slicks at those times are faster than the wets. It would seem that the slicks are slower with less grip when they are outside operating range and for some reason at many tracks there is a temperature bug associated with these tyres. The grip levels don't seem to need tweaking.

On the other hand the wets need tweaking because they hold up far too well when punished in hot weather. I had the wets at 108 degrees Celcius and they only started to drop performance after about 10 laps.

Have I missed something with the manufacturer drive stuff. I completed the Ginetta one and got an e-mail and an accolade. I have the achievements for becoming a 'brand advoacate' and 'factory driver'. Is there something I'm missing here? Or maybe I haven't actually fully completed it and haven't realised?

This is the quote from the career article on it:

When you successfully complete the Proving Grounds event, you will be tagged as a Factory Driver. You then get the opportunity to compete in a series of Manufacturer Drives, driving a selection of their cars. Successful completion of these will result in unlocking a car for that manufacturer.

Another night and an endless battle to join a race online. 7 attempts so far... Last night after 8 disconnections in a championship lobby I gave up.

Hopefully v1.04 solves the PS4 connection issues because it is seriously frustrating.

EDIT We have a new record of 12 attempts and 2 game crashes tonight. I gave up after that.

Other games are working fine online just incase there are any suggestions...

I was wondering if someone knew if it was possible to have more AI cars than 32 on some tracks ?
For example, I used to drive on Le Mans with 56 cars on PC1 but can only put 32 on PC2 which make that track pretty empty.

The limits for PCARS2 in terms of on track cars are unfortunately lower when compared to PCARS1, due to much more going on under the hood (more detailed tire model, changing weather, Livetrack, etc.)

Your truth. My truth when I read that was I personally understood you to be an ignorant person who is condescending and judgemental from a place of ignorance considering my truth is an understanding of how not everyone's mind works the same and an understanding that what works for you will not work for everyone and an understanding of how the person you were replying to was practising discipline. My personal truth was by commenting the way you did you showed less maturity which is a part of growing up.

Anyway I did not feel the need to share any of that with you because I understand personal truth and I understand the conflict expressing your personal truth can cause when you share it with people who don't understand that personal truth isn't in fact truth, it's just what you believe.

But since you decided to reply again the way you just did again claiming a belief as fact. I just thought it would be a good time to correct you. I'm sure you'll take correction well since you have no trouble correcting others.

I just found something interesting. The 488 GT3 is really fast. So fast in fact around Bathurst I can run just as quick in it on Wet tyres in the rain as I can in some other GT3 cars on soft slicks in the dry.

I think I've found what I'll be racing from now on. From a person who loves to hate Ferrari this is a tough pill to swallow.

Oh yeah. Normally when I tested the other cars I always jumped into a testing session with light cloud and on soft slicks. The fastest I ran in any other car in those conditions has been 2:08 with 25l of fuel. In the Ferrari I jumped into a test session where I set the weather to start with light cloud but change to rain. On SS also with 25l of fuel I went out as it started spitting on my window and ran a 2:06. I came in for wets and ran a 2:10 in the rain which matches my Ginetta and Z4 times on soft slicks in the dry.

Any track / car combo I presume. I tried it with oulton park an BRNO.. several cars.. the ghost will just not save.

Edit: The ghost is saved but I can’t select it. When I click on add ghost and select my personal best then you have to press the X to load it but it won’t. All I hears is just tue in game sound of pressing a button but It won’t load or go any further.
When I press the circle button to go back, I will see the add ghost option screen again but without my personal best ghost loaden.
Will upload a vid to show it..

Hi everyone (I'm new :) ) !

Firstly, congrats to the team for releasing the game I'm waiting since a bit, now. My hardcore gaming soul is quite active and I thank you all for wasting my time, to the profit of an enjoyable driving experience !

As I've heard and read on multiple forums, the game seems to have a lot more problems than I expected. However, I don't recall a lot of them, but more of the minor ones that I don't really care (for example, best car laptimes in the loading screen are more like the best class laptimes ; omg 60€ wasted).

The one I recall is gameplay-wise, the clutch issue where I can just lift the throttle of an old Escort RS and upshift, whether or not I have auto-clutch enabled, or mechanical issues. It's no different from the Ginetta G55 (except sequential shifter) where I had to lift the throttle a bit and revmatch to make the gear change smoother. Oh yeah, it feels better when I use the clutch on the upshifts. That's the difference with the Ginetta.

I'm quite sure this bug is noticed by SMS but I want a confirmation : is this going to be patched ? Is this way of shifting intended ? If I borrow someone's E30 M3, could I say "easy bruh, clutchless shifts on 'dis car bruh" ?

Excuse my lack of proper english, though.

I feel your rage Paul, I really felt it last night.

In my first race the leader in front of me started to slow down rapidly and I passed him for the lead. I was puzzled as to what was going on but shortly after that I was disconnected, I lost almost 50 points. Then I got one race in, I had issues toward the end of the race but made it to the end. Our lobby moved to the next session and I was disconnected in qualifying. Rejoined to be disconnected again. This process repeated for the rest of the night no matter what lobby I joined. Something my son noticed was many of the disconnections were occurring as I crossed the start/finish line.

Perhaps the connection issues is why online racing seems to be turning into ghost town. The other day there were pages and pages of GT3 lobbies. I jumped on yesterday and there were only 5 at one point with most lobbies having ratings turned off.

Yeah, a (relatively) cheap wheelstand, even a DIY one, is miles better than clamping to a table and having your pedals slide around on the carpet.

May I ask why? So what's the problem in losing 63 or 100 or more points, if you do have great races online, at least from time to time?
Don't get me wrong, I agree problems must be fixed, but still (when I race with the proper clean people) I am finding online quite a blast, even at this stage. Yeah, I also lose a lot of points without it being my fault, but so what?

Is it really that good? I have a wheel but nowhere to mount it and whilst i can swing a full seat and rig, i cannot use that in the family room where the PS4 is and tbh don't want to set up with a new device in the basement.

I really love it. I just spent two hours straight practicing with the Ford Mustang RTR GT4 tonight at various tracks and I wasn't even tired afterward. It's also very adjustable, which is a huge bonus. I prefer to sit nearly straight up just like in my road car, and I can move the pedals closer to me by adjusting the position of the bumper bar at the far end of the stand. It's a very stable system and for $199.99 it's worth every penny.

FYI, I've also noticed my lap times have dropped since I don't have to worry about the wheel or pedals moving anymore.

I have the Playseat Challenge as well and you don't have to sit reclined as it's very adjustable.
You can have it reclined for F1 style or more upright for tin tops.
Also it's very comfortable.

I can only agree on that. I also have the Playseat Challenge and can confirm, that it is comfortable and you can sit in it for a few hours without problems. My main pet peeves is, that I want to get a handbrake soon and don't know where to attach it.

What do you think Kunos would bring to the game?

I'm not a stranger to fantasies of team ups but I'm not really sure Kunos are doing anything significantly better while being really behind in other areas.

I'd love to see PC2 with online racing more like iRacing though and I'm sure some people might want AI to be more like "insert game", I was tempted to throw RF2 in there but seriously I've seen AI complained about in every game and comparisons are still made to GP4.

Just wanted to say thanks for the game, after 25 hours in I'm truly amazed.

I've barely scratched the surface, only racing in 3 different cars, but I've had so many brilliant experiences so far. I was a big fan of project cars 1 and this exceeds it in every way. This will be my racing game for a long time.

I love the weather transitions, and atmosphere of the tracks. The cars and tracks truly feel alive, not something I get in any other racing game. Seeing a puddle, hearing the splash and feeling the ffb slip as I hydroplane, the sun peeks through some clouds and blinds me all in vr, it feels like I'm really there. I can go on and on.

I'm not a hardcore enthusiastic of motorsports irl, I couldn't tell you how accurate or not any of the cars actually are, but I've been racing in games for over 30 years and this game feels special to me.

There's issues to be ironed out, and ai that needs alot of balancing, but I'm having a blast. I look forward to what this game will become in the coming months.

Sincerely a rabid project cars fanboy

I put in two more hours behind the wheel of the Mustang RTR GT4 tonight and I had a blast. One of the 10-minutes races I did was at Red Bull Ring National, and until tonight I forgot how much fun that track is. It was one of my favorites in GT6. I also managed to shave over a second off my TT time at the Daytona road course once I did a few setup tweaks I tested out at another track.

I really have to thank SMS for the setup layout screen. It's so much easier to read and understand compared to PC1, and I love how the tips on the right side and are easy to follow.

I am not saying the vintage cars are awful to drive in Pcars 2 but I always felt Kunos did a better job with vintage cars. Also the slower cars such as RX7 or Skyline in AC. SMS on the other hand, they are far better with the GT, LMPs and all sorts of fast cars.

I have not messed with many vintage cars yet but I think the L49 is way better in PC1 than PC2. My biggest beef with that car is the lack of body roll, it just sits dead flat and is unbelievable. Surprisingly the tyres are also a big part of the disappointment, the L49 tyres are just far too modern in this game. That car now drives like the iRacing version did when iRacing destroyed it. In PC2 it drives nothing like any of the footage of the real car and nothing like any of the real life drivers descriptions of the car. It's just totally unconvincing and unbelievable and not fun at all for me.

The big part of the disappointment with the L49 tyres this time around is I thought the tyres were something they did really well on that car in PC1.

BUT

In contrast to the L49 I think the 1959 Aston Martin DBR1/300 is one of the most amazing sim driving experiences I have ever had. I love that car, I think a league based on that car would be awesome.

So based on just that car I don't agree with you.

But yes the RX7's in AC are right up there among my favourite cars if not my favourite cars in that sim.

The 60's Lotus imo are the weakest cars in the game right now. They have so much stability like they drive on rails and are glued the track. Oddly enough they are so safe to drive, you can slide them a bit but there is actually no way you lose the car. I obviously don't have any real life experience with them but there is no way they could behave like that. Feels like they have too much weight and to little power. Watching onboards from the L25 and L49 they seem to be more fragile and sensitive and have to be controlled and tamed by the driver. I hope the devs will look into that at some point, cause the tyre model is phenomenal for most of the cars but maybe there is something wrong with those specific tyre compounds.

If you're on a single screen like me use helmet view, disable the helmet and turn look to apex up. It really aids for looking into those corners especially in cars with big A pillars. GT4 is a lot of fun, it's nice that you can chose between a EU and US series depending on what you have running in the other careers. I didn't really try the PC1 version much but I'm sure the improved physics and FFB matter a lot in every class you'd try.

What do you guys think about the Nissan 280ZX IMSA? I haven't dug deep with tuning yet but I find that, while it can easily dust its competition on the straightaways, its pretty abysmal in the corners (compared to the other Gr. 5s). That, and it seems to overheat unless I leave the radiator on 100%. I really like the challenge it invites.

I think graphics is one of the major area PC2 need to improve (I am playing in PS4). A lot of bugs are there in case of shadows. There are some irritating graphics issues with the trees.
Also the physics in the bouncing of lightweight street furnitures are not good.

Hope the developers will address them well in the future patches

^ I really try to stay positive, but that's not really fair, Roger. You can't dismiss posts about bad graphics on PS4 (like mine here (http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?51892-Known-amp-Investigating-Please-improve-graphics-and-edge-smoothing&p=1388542&viewfull=1#post1388542)) just by pointing at some youtube clips. Of course it looks good at some points on track or in time, but at other points it's abysmal. Nurburgring Combined, full AI grid: the drop in graphics quality driving up to the Schumacher-/Audi-S is ridiculous. No amount of shiny clips can contradict what I experience first hand. I'm not in the know, but I wouldn't be surprised if the export function on PS4 or youtube itself add a bit of anti-aliasing to videos.

To compound the issue: lots of us try to optimize their setup by moving closer to the screen with their wheels. Anything less than HD-resolution looks quite bad from close up. As soon as an AI car comes into view you can see the details of the dash fade as resolution seems to drop, same thing happens when you switch HUD to telemetry view, which also seems to affect frame rate. And that's best case. Worst case there's multiple cars on screen at a particular section of track and everything looks quite ugly for a few seconds.

I don't have a great problem with PC2's visuals - they're not amazing, but graphics aren't top of my list really. They're at worst functional, at best pretty impressive. Racing at Le Mans into the night with rain/fog coming in, it's pretty good. The stutters, tearing etc can hopefully be dealt with in patches but they don't really spoil the core experience. Also worth saying that lots of games are compromising on graphics at the moment to concentrate on other areas - Forza 7 is noticebly graphically inferior to Forza 6 in places, for example.

But I do agree with the above post - that you can't just dismiss legitimate, constructively put concerns by saying basically "shut it - look at these videos"

Zenzic

Here (https://i.imgur.com/1vxBkpo.jpg)'s an example of what I mean. Make sure you look at the picture at 100% of its size. At this specific section of the track the graphics fidelity drops by a fair amount. Yes, you can still discern the car in front, but mainly because you know it's a car. Text on the instrument cluster becomes illegible. Having telemetry open compounds the issue. And as I said in my previous post this happens at other tracks too, to smaller and larger degrees. I'm loving the game, I'm able to look past a lot of issues I assume will be fixed down the line, but this is not an example of good graphics. Especially not if you're 50 cm from a 40" HD television.

I'm afraid the graphics options on PS4 are rather limited. Are you referring to the visual FX? I've tried multiple combinations of enabling/disabling effects to no avail, I'm afraid. My TV is set to display the image feed at 1:1 size and sharpness is set to 0 as it should be.

I'm not a specialist, but I don't think comparing youtube videos is the answer. Standard PS4 streams/exports at 720p. If you view the image I linked to in my previous post at half size it looks miles better. I expect downsizing 1080p to smaller sizes will have a beneficial effect as well, as will any AA that might be applied afterwards. And there's other issues to take into account: does the presence of AI on track outside of view influence graphics as opposed to running a time trial alone on track? Are multiplayer graphics comparable to single player?

Anyway, if anyone here on standard PS4 is under the impression the screenshot I posted above is not representative, please let me know. If this is merely some setting or an oversight on my part I'd be delighted.

Just want to get out some frustrations that I'm sure have been mentioned elsewhere but I've just come off a session where I've had some problems.

Overall I'm really enjoying the driving experience. Time Trials and Private tests have been fairly enjoyable despite the well documented issues with setups that I've generally been able to work around. The issues I'm having is when it comes to racing. I've spent a lot of time messing with settings to try and find the right AI level for an enjoyable race and have finally settled on a point where my lap times put me around 5th-10th on the grid which I'm happy with. Once the racing starts however I regularly find myself restarting due to being punted by the AI in braking zones. As far as I can tell I'm not braking early compared to those ahead of me and it wouldn't bother me if the AI was just quicker in those spots and went down the inside but more often than not it seems ramming me is their preferred option.

Once I dig myself back out of the sand/wall I see myself setting lap times which would again put me in a competitive position but by that time I'm so far back it doesn't matter. I want to run longer races wher I feel it would become less of a problem as the field spread out but right now I can barely ever get past more than a couple of laps without finding myself at the back of the pack.

Again the driving experience has been great but these issues with racing in the middle of the field is proving frustrating and has me leaving each play session disappointed.

I am kinda mixed with this as those silly HW cars in FH3 were actually real custom made cars. Essentially a really ugly version of the SVA lancer with a lot less performance.

I do crucious how would Twin Mill drives in Pcars as it has 2 separate engine.

That right there is my biggest complaint in regards to the release of this game. Anyone can say what they will about how this is the new norm but it kills gaming communities and it kills games.

The damage is done now. Many people who have tried it and given up will never come back. If they waited to release it until after it was right, then even if everyone was already playing Forza and GTS when people heard about this new ultimate sim with weather and realistic tyres and real transitions instead of racing for an hour at dusk or dawn with a sun that doesn't move... everyone would try it and come over to it. People will still play both games but PCARS2 would be very popular. That will never happen now. PC2 should have been the future of online racing, now it will never realise its potential and I'll always be upset that is was released like this and that stupid developers haven't learned from every game that has done this and effectively become still born.

After they actually fix this game that will be the next thing I'll want to see from SMS. I'll want to see if they try to make it right, I'll want to see if they try to do anything different or special to try and bring back the players that they would have had if they didn't botch the release. But they'll need to do more than fix it first now because of the way people think. Now not only will they need to fix the bugs but they will also have to fix the complaints if they ever want to have a chance at bringing people back. Because if they had delivered a game without issues people wouldn't have abandoned it when it over design choices but now that people have abandoned it they will use those arguments not to give it another chance.

It's like if someone told an iRacing hater that iRacing was now awesome and cars no longer has seesaw physics, they might say something like "does it still have autoclutch? Yeah that's not realistic, lat me know when they fix that". People will do the same now with PC2 and here are few of the defences against ever giving it a chance that I'd expect.

Can you reconnect to a race from the pits if you are disconnected?
Are the filters still crap?
Does TT still force you to share your setup?

And that is the problem they now face, to get anyone back to give it another chance they will also need to fix the things those people didn't like about the game as well as the issues.

You really want to go that road?

That isn't primarily directed at SMS, I was actually thinking of a much bigger company that is well documented for one of the worst releases ever when I said that. But generally speaking I think it is stupid for any developer to release games that are broken with the argument that this is now normal. Perhaps that word will be taken differently to how I intend but to soften the blow what I'm saying is it is ignorant not to understand how this negatively effects the online community for that game in a way that most if not all never recover from.

That right there is my biggest complaint in regards to the release of this game. Anyone can say what they will about how this is the new norm but it kills gaming communities and it kills games..Absolutely. Releasing games working under such acceptable status kills the online community, just like it harms the reputation of the game.

Take the Driveclub for instance, which could very well have become the next greatest arcade racing series after Project Gotham. Never recovered from the initial impact despite fixing the game later.

Same happened to pc1 anyway. Great game released too in an unbearable working status, whose community went down to very low percentages after two months of life. Fixing the game many months later didn't bring players back either.

Then they come and tell <<you the you don't know how development works; the retailers; the distributors, the blahblah etc blahblah you know nothing about anything blah blah BLAH!>>, usual lecture!. Ok apologizers. Look at Blizzard, Rockstar, cloud imperium games, and a large etc of others.

I wanted pc2 community to be so big..., and here we are again, with numbers going down just as quickly as they did in pc1. Great.

Remember that context thing we were talking about yesterday?

It's a movement I'm starting stemming based on mind hacks or the power of positive thinking.

Earlier I said that if we think positive thoughts it will happen so rather than think logically that we probably wont see a patch for between a week and a month I suggested people should start thinking positive and mind hack the patch out sooner.

People decided the patch will be out tomorrow. Good thing my Dad isn't around to say "tomorrow never comes".

If for some reason not enough people were thinking hard enough that it will come out tomorrow then tomorrow we must work harder to get more people onboard to say it will come out tomorrow. I understand if you are not able to get on this train but by becoming a mod you gave up your right to enjoy the forum so tough luck ;P I say that in a cheeky lighthearted way as a former moderator and administrator of forums that I gave up so i could go back to having fun on forums instead of working on them.

Wow, on so many levels. Did you even read that back? I hope you are Ok because it sounds like your issues lie far beyond a £40 car racing sim.

Perhaps you are new to gaming or the world. It would be too hard to try and explain this concept and I couldn't be bothered but if you care to try and understand go and watch some Youtube commentaries on gaming history and see how passionate gamers are upset over the failure of certain games and even development houses over decisions and mistakes they made.

Even on this gen of consoles there have been some very notable failures resulting in many Youtube videos documenting them. Most of them could have been easily avoided. The biggest failures are always those that should have been epic but failed because of something avoidable. Everyone who actually likes those games or the potential those had remains upset they never revealed their potential so I would hope that any reasonable thinking person could understand that in order to always be upset requires a certain level of admiration or love or respect to exist.

Unfortunately due to the way you responded to me I don't expect that you'll understand any of what I'm saying. That's fine, join the line of people who don't like the way I think, it's a short line but those in it have never felt the need to refrain from letting me know how broken they think my brain is. BTW like most people I do have issues, one of them is the way my awesome family and I acknowledge them and are comfortable with them so life is pretty awesome. I would hate to be a person who pretends I don't have issues and go around telling people I think they have issues.

i daresay someone actually doesn't know how development works, haha.

But if you are racing on console and have even just a small netbook you can run the PC version on the netbook. UDP is UDP, so source device and destination device doesn't matter. Race on PS4/XBOX and have CrewChief running on a PC.

At the biggest number that gives a decent data rate for the app you are using.. if you are on fully wired network it shouldn't matter, but some routers really hate the broadcast and tend to crap on the WiFi network (hence the lowest rate comment)

Couldn't find anywhere else to post this but related to the Ligier LMP3. I notice there's no option to add bump rubbers to the front 3rd but it's not greyed out as if you should be able to, it's just stuck at 0mm. Also with the rear 3rd there's no option to run without the spring as there should be (should be able to run no spring and only bump rubbers). Any chance this can go into the pile for a future patch?

I think it's one of the things SMS had to do to optimise the game and keep framerates up. If you draw the car in all the mirrors, that's quite a bit more to draw as each has a different viewpoint. Due to the sheer amount of physics calculations going on, there wasn't enough processing power left over to draw everything. Blame Intel and Nvidia for not developing chips as fast as they used to before they had the market sewn up

thanks for that explanation, though I would have thought we would be given the option to have it or not. I would rather tone down track details and be able to see the rear tyres smoking or locking up.

I know this is only a very minor thing, but it's just really confusing and bugging me. Why is there such a difference between the colour shades of decals on some cars when you view them in the Showroom vs. what the actually look like on track in-game? Here's an example with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 (this applies to the Endurance version too):

244021 244022

As you can see, in the Showroom screenshot (the 1st one), the part(s) of the decal that are meant to be red for some reason are pink, and the silver sections are almost non visible. Compare this to the second screenshot, where all the colours on the decal are all the correct shades.

I understand the lighting in the Showroom might have SOME effect on particular colours of decals, I just don’t see why whatever amount of light there is in the Showroom, would alter the colours of decals so much as it did in my example.

Yeah I haven't seen red changing into pink due to it being lighted neither.

Question; I'm practicing a bit with a particular combo and I wanted to check the best time I set with that car at that given circuit, but I wasn't able to find it. Checked the 'stats' section but to no avail.

Does PC2 have this feature? AC does and it's quite handy if you want to quickly remember which times you were setting in any given car. I'm not talking about TT because I know it is registered there, just the overall times you have set with a car in any given mode.

RS dash (Android, iOS or Windows version) keeps your personal best times (and shows a lot of other stuff so you can keep your screen "clean"). But unlike Content Manager (AC app) you can not generate a list. You need to take the car on track and then you get to see your PB for that combo in the timing sheet.

Just wanted to ask, with the cars that have spoilers that raise up at a certain speed (Ford GT, Porsche 918, McLaren P1 etc.), would it be possible to make it that, when you are station-less or going below the speed of when the spoiler activates , it remains down, until you get up to the required speed?

Those cars are all set in "track mode" in game. For most of them (in real life) that means the rear wing is in a fixed, deployed position. So what the game has given us is accurate to real world.

I even started a topic about it. Not going to repeat all of it, but you can read it here:

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?54583-Bannochbrae-(e-g-)-graphics-issues-and-other-remarks

Reading your comment, I just checked again (thinking there had been a patch) but no, no life on track... (except for a flock of birds).

Oops sorry @Fanapryde, I wasn't notified for your post, Yes I'm on PS4

a reply to my question (post #1192) would be great...

Anyone else sees cattle and people at Bannochbrae ?

If you are in free practice, you have neither spectators nor cows nor sheep, you have to race to get them.

I noticed the 30 day review score took a dump at 62% on Steam, but I think people will put down their pitchforks once v1.3 patch has been released.

My game review may be negative, but I would still rate the game at 7 out of 10 and wouldn't hesitate to give it an 8 once the bed bugs are gone.

Ow, thanks, I'll check that.

Cruising around, enjoying the surroundings: no life.
While racing and not much time to look around, all is there.

Seems to be a weird decision. Performance wise, in free practice FPS would be higher than in a race with other cars. I'd think the other way around would make more sense.

EDIT: Checked it. You are right.
Still don't get the reason for this design decision though.

Studio lighting. There is a livery for the ATS-V.R that has chrome on the fenders, but you wouldn't see in the Showroom.

Wait, so it's meant to be like that? Are you sure?

That seems to be a seperate bug with chrome. See the Caterham Seven 620R chrome livery in showroom too.

Wait, so when YOU view cars in the Showroom, the colours all look like they’re meant to? They don’t look like that first screenshot in my last post?

Wait, so it's meant to be like that? Are you sure?

If you're using the take picture button don't bother. I get better results every single time by pressing the share /screenshot button. The take picture function in game adds some sort of auto contrast which mucks up the colours (which can happen with real cameras too). Avoid the in game take picture button at all costs.

That is the reason for your colour discrepancy. Follow the capture mode I've outlined above and the colours should match (until you play around with filters and contrast etc).

Yes really frustrating they have not added this important feature in game & i'm still having to use a damn pen & paper.

Another first world problem.

Just something else that would enhance the 'my profile' section of the menu. And very very useful for people who are into tuning. Tuning works great in this game IMO.

I'm having troubles dialing in good controller settings(xbox one controller) and I am hoping someone can point me to some threads that have some settings that work. I have been dabbling a bit in Formula Rookie and some times I do ok but on tracks like Catalunya I am barely able to complete a lap.

I am so frustrated with the controller that I am researching a racing wheel. Not sure how far in price I want to go, considering Thrustmaster TMX and TX mostly. Any thoughts on those or other recommendations would be great.

You wont regret buying a wheel and it will change the game for you. The only recommendation I can make is buy the BEST wheel you can afford. Otherwise youll buy a wheel and just end up getting a better one as soon as you realize how good a wheel is. The new thrustmaster wheels are nice and a full size wheel makes a big difference. So if you can swing it get a better wheel upfront that way you don't end up stockpiling them like many of us. Definitely cant go wrong with the fanatec stuff either. They have some really nice pedals compared to the thrustmaster stuff.

Well not to say Fanatec doesn't have issues. But, if you can afford it. It's worth the money! I am looking at getting a DD early next year. So weighing my options here!

But why do the colours (or the shades anyway), still look off when you just view cars in the Showroom WITHOUT being in Photo Mode? Shouldn’t the colours be correct then since that weird auto contrast thing can’t apply?

JohnSchoonsBeard
10-11-2017, 17:41

I'm going back to your original post to answer.

I looked at this exact car and livery in game. The car looked the same colours in the showroom as on the track. I then took a photo from the showroom using the in game function. The in game picture processing then changed the red to pink and the silver /light grey boasts to almost white exactly the same as your pink photo.

If you took the photo on track using the same method the processing wouldn't necessarily change the red to pink due to the other colours in the shot. If you took those same photos and applied an autofix process to both in Photoshop something very similar could happen.

So I would check again your showroom. Just use the share button to take a screenshot both in showroom and on track to be sure. On mine they are correct.

I just tried using the Share button to take a screenshot in the Showroom like you suggested, and the colour shades still looked incorrect to what they should be. Would it really be that hard to just fix this and the weird auto contrast thing that happens in Photo Mode in a patch?

Can you post your shots? One in the showroom and one at the track. Save them as png files rather than jpg. There's an option in the ps4 menu.

Just to double confirm. I set the shots in photomode and then take them using the share button.

The other difference I can thunk if is I'm on PS4 Pro and you are on PS4. I normally have HDR on and images are generated at 4k due to my TV resolution but I'll try it again with HDR off.

Agreed the take picture button would be better taking the photo as viewed in photomode.

If you need to do it on a tight budget, go for the TMX Pro if you can find it in stock. It's $250 but that extra $50 you're paying will get you the T3PA pedals. Those are $100 on Amazon.

You can also do what I did (for now). I'm using a nearly two year old T150. I like the wheel but the pedals were starting to go. I just bought the T3PA PRO pedals and the TH8A shifter earlier today. Those pedals not only have a better feel but they're more precise. The pedals allow me to roll through turns and carry more speed in the corners. I imagine the T3PA pedals that come with the TMX Pro will be somewhat similar and better than the pedals that come with the $200 TMX wheel.

Besides Rallycross, what series actually race in the snow? Usually races are planned to avoid such an event. Can't compete with a foot of snow on the ground

Why does everyone think that snow at place where there rarely has ever been snow with a game that allows you to set weather as "snow" is bonkers? It seems straightforward to me that you can have snow anywhere at anytime when its a video game.

I want to try learn to get quicker in GT3 class on certain Tracks, and all top times are all GT Classes mixed together. Will it be changed or are there server limits to separate ech class? Same with other car classes.

I don't know. I can't imagine your tv uses a pink mode only triggered by certain events in a game. :)

Post one of the pictures with the settings and maybe a developer can look at it to try and explain or fix it (if a mod can report it).

What is the model number on the back (or is it bottom) of your PS4? Have you made any changes in the HDR calibration section of the game (not that I think it's that)?

Unfortunately it is limited by Sony/Microsoft's restrictions on the number of tables in the leaderboards for non exclusive games (I think I remember a dev saying it's 1000 in Project Cars1). I think there are over 20000 possible combinations of track and car in the game so us on the consoles lose out. On PC there is a leaderboard for all cars at all tracks.

Things would be improved if we could filter leaderboards by class or specific model on console.
