Not much info in the forum about this competition but I comment it for if someone is interested.
It has started in June with a weekly timetrial where the winner of each week gets access to the Online Quarter Finals.
Season 1 has finished and now we are in Season 2 with still 4 timetrials left, so there are still 4 places avaliable for the next round.
Winners of the Quarter finals and wildcards, will advance to the regional final.

The wildcards get the place in local competitions, and is what is about the original post, now edited to add this information for people that don't know about this event.

Last Tuesday I went to the Spain & Portugal final of the Logitech G Challenge.
It was in McLaren Barcelona where we could see (and listen) fabulous cars and an impressive museum.
We received a personalized T-shirt, a covid mask, a McLaren cup and a Logitech G29, and the winner of the event a wildcard for the regional finals.
Sadly the competition was with PS4 and I couldn’t do a decent job, but the experience was incredible.

Wow, were it is the "I absolutely envy you" button, to press it a thousand times on your post?!? :)

This is fantastic Asturbo, very happy for you! Any videos?

Haha, yes it was an amazing experience. The other guys was pro drivers and with the PS4 handicap I was 2" of my usual lap times.
BTW I don't know why you are not doing the timetrials for the european finals. I've got my place for the quarterfinals and knowing your pace won't be very hard for you.

Sadly not a lot of publicity about that competition: https://www.logitechg.com/es-es/esports/g-challenge-eracing.html Who knows if we can meet in Woking

PS: Yeah there streams but I'm very shameful

Oh, come on, nothing to be ashamed about, you should be very proud of being in such competitions, no matter the end result. Post a couple or them videos, otherwise I will search for them myself and will post only the ones that might seem embarrassing for you ;)

Regarding myself, unfortunately at the moment I cannot put more than a few minutes every week into racing, due to a health issue. Hopefully there will be another competition in the future and I will give you some more competition as in the past!

Was this the regional final from season 1 that just finished? I "secured a position in the regional quarter final" for North America, but didn't expect to hear anything until after season two ended. (And I haven't heard a word)

This event was the Spain & Portugal finals after 3 timetrials events last month (different to regional Season 1). The winner of this event, got a wildcard for the regional finals.
The rest of us can get the place in Season 1 and Seasson 2 timetrials for the quarterfinals (an online race). The qualifiers of this online race(s) advances to the regional finals with mentioned wildcards.
Yeah, it's a bit confusing...

Lando Norris has been doing a series of track guides for this series. The viewing figures are quite impressive.

Yeah, was a very interesting competition. Don't understand how it has not been given more publicity.

Obviusly Lando is cruising because I was 2" faster in Ruapuna i.e. http://cars2-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/leaderboard/event?event=1692

The TimeTrials ended this week and I got the win in Season 2 (https://lmgc-emea.challonge.com/es/lmgc2020s2pc). Next round will be an online race in Silvestone, but rivals there are aliens (Nade, Wolf, JK, Khaki...).

Not announced yet, but last year was an event with 4 short races and winner advanced to the grand final.

In-person though? I guess at some point they have to get the xbox, ps, and pc drivers on the same equipmet to race each other.

Yesterday disputed the European online final of this competition with the fastest PCARS2 players (Wolf, NADE, Isaac, JK, Popsu, Khaki...).
I knew I had no option to compite face to face with them because those aliens were 1" faster, so I try to make a clean race with no mistakes and avoiding any contact to get a decent place in the top ten.
There was only one place to advance to the superfinals and that made the fight at the top very tough. I finished the race in an unexpected 4th place, but with the post-race penalties, I advanced to 2nd place. Couldn't be happier, and another G29 & a Pro X Headset reward. Final Results. Waiting for 2021 season, hope with PCARS2 too.

It was an amazing grid and you did really well - congratulations!!

The racing was exciting but Wolf seemed far too aggressive when overtaking. Will you hear if there is any stewards action?

I don't understand why only one goes forward when this wasn't the case in the North American finals.

Asturbo
27-09-2020, 08:46
Yes, Wolf, JK16 and Khaki received post race penalties:

Lap 1 Turn 3: Warning for Wolf, warning for Pawlowski (3-wide complications)
Lap 1 Turn 4: Warning for Adamczyk. (3-wide complications)
Lap 1 Turn 16: JK16, 5 second penalty, late braking resulting in contact and spinout.
Lap 5 Turn 4: Pawlowski second warning, turning in, Wolf second warning, late braking.
Lap 7 Turn 7: Wolf, on entry not leaving room, 5 second penalty, Pawlowski not leaving room on exit, 5 second penalty.
Lap 9 Turn 4: Wolf, 5 second penalty late breaking leading to contact.

That's why I advanced from 4th to 2nd. In the link in my previous post appears the official results after that penalties. Wolf moved from 1st to 5th and JK16 from 2nd to 4th. Adamczyk won.

In Europe there is only one place because there are many local events that gives a wildcard to the superfinal (UK, Spain, Belgium, France...), so less places avaliable in this online event to advance.
That made the race specially rough at the front.

Even though I was second in the semis and there was only one place to advance to the european final, I received an invitation for the final as 2nd qualifier, probably because someone failed.

That superfinal was scheduled to be in person, but because COVID, finally will be online.

Organizers decided to send finalist all the items needed for racing (some are from console). The coffin received, includes an Alieware Computer & Alienware Monitor of 38" and many Logitech products (G923, Wireless headset, mouse, keyboard, WebCam...). These Logitech products in the photos are the prize to be in the final, and the Alienware PC & Monitor has to be returned after the final.

Can't be more grateful to Logitech and McLaren for organizing this event and try so hard to make it a success in such adverse conditions.

Edit: OMG, the monitor is an AW3821DW, 38", 3840x1600, 144hz, G-Sync Ultimate. Not yet avaliable in shops, and probably more than 2.500€ :eek-new:

Edit: what's in the box between the cam and the mouse?

No, no playseat included. The hard job is that I've to unmount all my stuff from my cockpit to mount all this (mandatory to have equal conditions). Will be a long weekend...

Edit: what's in the box between the cam and the mouse?
It's a Boom 3 Bluetooth Speaker, also as a prize.

The box says outside i7 9700K, 16GB, 1Tb NVMe & 2070S. The GPU is a bit short for that monster monitor, specially if you want to get that insane 144Hz at this resolution.

Hmmmm. Decent PC, but the monitor is an unusually difficult beast to run I'm sure.

With my 2080ti I get 120FPS at 3440x1440 with my Z35P. Probably at 3800x1600 the 2070S will be arround 70-80 FPS.

I'll probably turn down settings and shoot for 90fps since that's the refresh rate I'm used to in VR. I'm guessing it has gsync?

Asturbo

I'm guessing it has gsync?
Yes it has the new versión of G-Sync, G-Sync Ultimate that supports higher resolutions and refresh rates. Panels with this technology are premium models over 2.500€.
Previous G-Sync doesn't has enough processing power for that resolution/Hz
