Also not sure if issue with controller settings or with game. Can't remember hearing of it before.

Many 3rd party overlays are causing instability. MSI, Raptor, Steam
People having lots of crashes should try disabling these overlays and see if it helps.

Steering speed is missing. It is impossible to get raw output from the controller stick (even with custom steering wheel settings, game apply's some filters for steering speed). There is always default steering speed that is to slow for countering or competitive racing:

This problem is very common. A lot of people have that problem.
After JIP you often cannot drive - everything except the lobby is locked in menu (doesnt matter if free practice or qualy). Multiple-rejoining solves the problem.
