[NO] Always-ON Internet Connection Required for PC?

I'm just trying to find out if internet connection is required at all times for the Steam version of this, as I am moving somewhere in 2 days that does not have access to the internet need to know about this before I make a purchase.

I just checked it and it works fine. With limitations of course - no online and no lap times/ghost uploading.
