Between Covid shutting people in and the cryptocurrency mining boom, I would not be surprised if demand was/is tripple what manufacturers were expecting.
The long lead time between contracting wafer allocation and actually having products on shelves makes quick reactions to market changes unlikely too.
I don't think anyone saw this coming in time to make production increases that had a chance of making a dent in demand.

the only problem is that Forza motorsport 8 is going to be recommended 1070 and forza games arent normally the most graphics card demanding so any other games like say a PC4 would maybe be out of my reach
but i dont plan on buying any other games this year other than Forza 8 and maybe F1 2021 havent decided on the f1 yet depends if there is any big changes to it or changes that i deem to be big enough to buy another one instead of waiting for 2022

My internet sucks so I won't post pics but I just bought an acer helios 300 (i7 10750H and RTX 2060). Needed a new laptop and there wasn't much in price between what I needed and this gaming laptop. Figured it could run PC2. Then I saw PC2 was still Ģ45 on steam so I got AMS2 instead for Ģ18 on sale. Some 20 hrs in and it's a better game than PC2, certainly better than the console version which I had on xbox one x. Not gonna go near PC3...
Then my TP3A brake pedal load cell gave up on me. After 4 years of service it's time to upgrade...
This morning my Fanatec DD1 wheel and clubsport v3 pedals arrived and I'm like a pig in ****! It's now all bolted to the rig but I gotta walk the dogs... The missus don't look too impressed with my new purchases and I'll be sleeping in the doghouse if she sees what I spent, but I don't care too much - won't be needing her services tonight, I got new toys!
