[PS4] Crash to Home Screen After Patch 3.0

Had a few crashes since 8.0, and now I'm also getting some odd freezes, where it seems it's about to crash (you know how it freezes up for a second before crashing to the error report screen), but it just hangs there. The sound of the revs will slowly go down to idle, and then, even though the image is frozen and none of the controls do anything, if you leave it, you'll hear the AI cars as they drive past where you froze lol.

Started the game, went to free practice, Formula Renault, Monza GP, clear weather, noon fixed time, DS4 controller.
During my outlap screen froze with a buzzing sound, black screen, then went to the PS4 problem report screen.

I had the game crashed twice within 30 minutes last week, and several crashes last year.
I still think PCars is the best racing experience one can get on console but the frequent crashes are really annoying and ruin the game.

After a race with 7 disconnects out of 14, we all closed the game and started the console fresh.

In the 5th lap of the Race (out of 26), driving a proud P2, game freezes and gives me the attached screen, at the start/finish line.
I was hosting this race, lucky the host moved to another player.

Got it twice this week in practice. Once while on what would have been my fastest lap yet. It seems this has gotten a lot worse since the last patch as I rarely got these before.

My two penneth... Have read through this thread and not seen mention of this but apologies if it's already been discussed elsewhere. To anyone getting the FFB wheel crash where it turns, freezes and then dumps to the error reporting screen, I had been experiencing the same all the way through all the different patches. However, I've recently relocated the PS4 from my lounge into my man-cave where I can sit closer to the screen and had, up until that point, been using a USB extension cable to connect the wheel to the console sat under the TV to get some distance between me and the 50" screen.

Since I've ditched the loooooong cable, I've not had any crashes. Possible communication drop out between wheel and console exaggerated by the length of the cable and / or the extra plug join?

I don't play online generally but I get the feeling that the crashes people are experiencing there are for a different reason but would be interested to know if this helps anyone or if it can point the devs down any new avenues not already explored
