Guys and girls of SMS,
I make this comment as a request (not a shout or a tantrum) - I just want to make that clear.
Can we please get an update on the KNOWN ISSUES threads and some feedback in the BUG REPORT threads?
From what I can see, the PS4 Known Issues thread original post - which was listing all the punch items for resolution really well for some time - has not been updated since September (according to the last edit time stamp). I have seen other comments in threads that 'staff are still trawling the threads' even in lieu of an acknowledgement. I appreciate you're busy and schedules shift, ebb and flow but it strikes me that you're not doing yourselves favours sharing with the community exactly what has been recognised following reports and what needs clarification. This also leads to potential repeat reports of same and without response it seems to be leaving some with the impression these reports are going into a black hole... The feedback and engagement on bug etc. was absolutely being done before but it is currently some way away from what it was - given your justifiable pride at the high levels of community engagement this is a little worrying.. The latest 7.0 update seems to have shifted the physics once again - and this may just be the price paid for what is hopefully an evolving and ever-improving physics engine - but in conjunction with a sudden drop in bug feedback its starting to feel like the community engagement is under a bit of a cloud and there are increasingly disparaging discussions popping up along the lines of 'no one is listening' etc.
I know that's not the case, there's hundreds of comments since the beginning that counter that feeling - but there seems to be a swelling sensation of frustration setting in amongst even some of the most moderate forum users.
Please keep engaging the community - especially when there are so many of us happy to provide reports and heads-ups on issues that emerge. My worry is that the evident significant drop-off in report rates from the community (and drop in quality of some of those reports) are not actually reflective of a game with zero bugs (what game has zero bugs?!) but reflective more simply of a community that perceives a level of indifference in the lack of response and bug-squashing engagement that appears to have set in over the last month or so.
I think this is arguably more important when physics tweaks come in that change the feel of certain areas after so long. Physics isn't about opinions and improving the engine may come at a price to established driving styles, but things seems to be going a little quiet on the back and forth between the community and SMS when it comes to game improvements.
Please don't close the community out of the improvement process. Even small updates without specific detail (if details are not available for disclosure) are better than weeks of nothing and threads being left seemingly without further attention.
We're still out on the circuits, putting in the laps, the events and the hours. Let us know you're still listening.
