Updates Needed to Bug Reporting and Known Issues Threads

    Guys and girls of SMS,

I make this comment as a request (not a shout or a tantrum) - I just want to make that clear.

Can we please get an update on the KNOWN ISSUES threads and some feedback in the BUG REPORT threads?

From what I can see, the PS4 Known Issues thread original post - which was listing all the punch items for resolution really well for some time - has not been updated since September (according to the last edit time stamp). I have seen other comments in threads that 'staff are still trawling the threads' even in lieu of an acknowledgement. I appreciate you're busy and schedules shift, ebb and flow but it strikes me that you're not doing yourselves favours sharing with the community exactly what has been recognised following reports and what needs clarification. This also leads to potential repeat reports of same and without response it seems to be leaving some with the impression these reports are going into a black hole... The feedback and engagement on bug etc. was absolutely being done before but it is currently some way away from what it was - given your justifiable pride at the high levels of community engagement this is a little worrying.. The latest 7.0 update seems to have shifted the physics once again - and this may just be the price paid for what is hopefully an evolving and ever-improving physics engine - but in conjunction with a sudden drop in bug feedback its starting to feel like the community engagement is under a bit of a cloud and there are increasingly disparaging discussions popping up along the lines of 'no one is listening' etc.

I know that's not the case, there's hundreds of comments since the beginning that counter that feeling - but there seems to be a swelling sensation of frustration setting in amongst even some of the most moderate forum users.

Please keep engaging the community - especially when there are so many of us happy to provide reports and heads-ups on issues that emerge. My worry is that the evident significant drop-off in report rates from the community (and drop in quality of some of those reports) are not actually reflective of a game with zero bugs (what game has zero bugs?!) but reflective more simply of a community that perceives a level of indifference in the lack of response and bug-squashing engagement that appears to have set in over the last month or so.

I think this is arguably more important when physics tweaks come in that change the feel of certain areas after so long. Physics isn't about opinions and improving the engine may come at a price to established driving styles, but things seems to be going a little quiet on the back and forth between the community and SMS when it comes to game improvements.

Please don't close the community out of the improvement process. Even small updates without specific detail (if details are not available for disclosure) are better than weeks of nothing and threads being left seemingly without further attention.

We're still out on the circuits, putting in the laps, the events and the hours. Let us know you're still listening.

Totally agree with this. The silence has been deafening and when game-breaking bugs like the Silverstone Classic pit issue and major annoyances like the downgraded 'improved' (lol!) voice chat don't even get acknowledged then users can be forgiven for thinking the worst.

Some sort of response that isn't 'we can't reproduce it' (yeah, right) or 'it's your wheel' for the FFB vibration bug would be nice.

If I was holding my breath I'd be dead by now.

I admire your iniciative. I don´t want to discourage you but I think that is pointless. I was one of the "believers". I thought all the bugs (at least 90%) would be resolved within a few months. 7 months later and things are getting worse in some important points. The stability of this game is a joke. Patches are introducing new aspects and features when major bugs are getting ignored, or they simply don´t know how to fix it. The communication with the devs is a lot worse than months ago, they basically quit from the forum. I can understand their position. Some people are rude and are here simply to create disruption. But us, normal people, serious consumer and most of all, admirors of this game, are paying the price. I have already played 270 hours and I have all DLC´s. In another words, I became a fan of this game because Project Cars have a lot of positive aspects. But I´m not expecting that the devs can fix this game. I´m not expecting more explanations about bugs. I will continue to play until I get bored or pissed. One thing I can say for sure: I will only evaluate the possibility to buy Project Cars 2 after some months. And if this game not achieve a certain quality (stability, almost bug free instead of DLC´s, Oculus Rift support and companion apps), I will simply pass it. Sad but true. And what saddens me more is the fact that Project Cars could be the ultimate sim for consoles, a game that would only be surpassed by its sequel.

Sorry about any mistakes in my english.

Is anyboady from the SMS Team left in this Forum or are they all reading and developing Pcars 2 and PCars 2 Forum only?

It's not a big issue for all the online racers, but I play only career and it is anoying if some bugs that have been reported month ago are still (or again) here.
Like the "stuck in the pits / car not release by pitcrew" - bug
I had the impression that this was fixed, but after patch 7.0 its even worse. :-(

And how should we trust in PCars2 when the support from SMS for PCars1 has been reduced (that's at least how some feel in here).
Once Pcars3 is on the radar, the same will happen to Pcars2!?

Unless it's about a PC-only development or esports it's pretty rare to see devs actually posting anymore.

I find it interesting that with so much 'promised' content yet to come (ovals, pit crews, custom championships etc.) how little interaction there is from SMS now. Also interesting that the 'Coming Soon' section on the main menu has disappeared with the latest patch.

Maybe a bit rough and/or rude, but my impression is that Pcars1 is not money making anymore, but Pcars2 will be very soon..

    Sad but probably true
