2016 Driver Network Pre-Season Changes

We have just announced the 2016 Driver Network Season!

There are several changes that you need to be aware of which will make the new Season fairer for everyone competing.

In particular:

• There are two separate Series - one for Fixed Setups, and one for Open Setups.
• Within each Series there are also two Divisions - one for PC, and one for Console (XB1 & PS4 combined).
• Teams must now register to compete before April 1st and are allowed a maximum of 5 drivers per Series/Division.
• Teams & drivers can compete in both the Fixed and Open Setup Series.
• Teams can register different drivers for the Console & PC Divisions - allowing all teams to compete in both Divisions of both Series.
• However, specific drivers cannot compete in both the Console & PC Divisions at the same time.

We will announce full rules and regulations for both the Fixed Setup and Open Setup Series in the coming weeks.

Teams! Do not forget to register your drivers before April 1!

Drivers competing as individuals, without a team, do not need to pre-register. However the other rules still apply. You can compete in both the Fixed and Open Setup Series at the same time, but you cannot compete in both the PC and Console Divisions of any one Series.

Nice news, I like! And I hope SMS fix the fuel bug with default setup and all the players drive with the same fuel in the tank. Or able the box menu to set up the fuel charge. That's is urgent necessary.

There will never be more than one round per weekend in 2016. The Fixed Series and the Open Series will never run at the same weekend.

The Season will run from April to October.

You can register more than one team of 5 drivers per Series, but only if each team of 5 has a different name, e.g. Team Shark Racing A, Team Shark Racing B etc. Each team of 5 must include only PC players, or only Console (PS4, XB1) players. Not both.

Is it possible to hide the round ? It will be great if they all started in the dark..

I think Atho means it would be great if the event wouldn't show up in the list until it really starts. That way you couldn't build a setup and/or practice weeks in advance.

That's right, last year we can go on the community event see the track and come back to hotlap mode to see what car will be used.

Ah I see. Unfortunately, that isn't possible at the moment.

However, the situation is the same for all of the teams and drivers, so in most cases any advantages gained from early practice will be minimal as everyone should be able to practice should they choose to do so.
