[PS4] SMS investigation into connection issues

Hello everyone. We are investigating the issue that some of you have been experiencing online, where the game disconnects from multiplayer after a certain period of time.

If you have experienced this issue on PS4, please provide the following information in order to aid our investigation.

Important information:
- Was the game migrated to a new host?
- How many players were in the session?
- What was the exact message displayed on screen after you were disconnected?
- Is this issue happening only at weekends?
- Is there a specific time of the day when this problem is more common?

Additional information:
- Were all of the players in your race disconnected?
- Who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
- What connection type do you use between your PS4 and your modem/router? WiFi or Ethernet?
- What NAT type you have? (PS4 > Settings > Network > View Connection Status at the bottom)

Important information:

1. Yes, ( i think) I hosted the game I was disconnected, the other guys were able to carry on racing.
2. 5 players
3. "you have been disconnected from the multiplayer session, you are now being returned to race central"
4. dont know as we only play Friday nights
5. Dont know we play at 9pm on a Friday

Additional Imformation:

1. No, mostly only 1 , but we did have 2 at one point. (players other than the host have disconnected)
2 BT Infinity
3 Router - Ethernet
4 Nat 2

Migrated to new host - Yes the host often disconnected before we even got on track but was not always the first to go. (I was NOT host)

Players in session - 10/12

Message - You have been disconnected from multiplayer you are being returned to race central (or something along those lines sorry I can't remember word for word)

First I heard about it was Saturday, friends say it was happening all day. Personally experienced it Sunday evening approx. 8 PM GMT. 3 lobby attempts, none got further than qualifying for anyone. All other PS4 games online where working just fine before and after attempting to play pCars.

Yes all players where disconnected multiple times over a very short period of time and rejoined, then disconnected again.

ISP - Sky broadband which is very solid and it is incredibly rare for me to have connection issues. All others in room from all over Europe with various providers including Virgin and BT, also Danish and German people present in the same room all suffering the same fate.

90 minute championship race tonight. Will edit if needed.



UPDATE - Total lobby collapse before qualifying Wednesday 10 pm GMT 7/10 players simultaneously disconnect.

- Is this issue happening only at weekends? No, most days, tried again last night (Tuesday night)
- Is there a specific time of the day when this problem is more common? Generally game UK evenings from around 7~8pm

- Were all of the players in your race disconnected? No, seems the host gets disconnected in our tests
- Who is your ISP (internet service provider)? Virgin Media

About 10 players in the session, we race every Thursday at 20:00 GMT
None of the other players are disconnected
Wifi connected PS4.
None of the other games and services have ever dropped connection on me.

I'm no longer racing, because everytime I've tried it disconnected on me.

The only times I've experienced the Disconnect is when I've been hosting the online lobby.
The trend we started to see was the host gets disconnected then the room appears to act fine. (We didn't stay in the room long enough to find out if it happened to anyone else)
It also happened more on a weekend.

In addition to this, a secondary problem we found was a friend of ours stateside couldn't even join our lobbies it would list him as joining the room, then instantly leaving again. This also happened the other way round if he hosted then us in the UK tried to join him. We would get the error message of: The Room is either full or does not exist anymore.

My ISP is BT, the PS4 is hard wired into the router and I'm NAT Type 2.

You edited my post? I think that reporting all other games where working fine over this period of time is an important piece of information and VERY relevant and ON topic.
