The patch sizes bare no relation to the amount of fixes included. If small updates are made to a track, then the whole track has to be downloaded again. Same with the cars and other content. It all adds up quite quickly.

EDIT : Remember, also, that the patch includes the upcoming DLC content so that is additional data on top of the rest.

EDIT : I've been eel'd. Apparently it should only be 1.8GB - see Bealdor's post 2 posts above this one.

I have no idea, I don't work for SMS or Bandai Namco. Pure speculation on my part, but with the release of the Oculus Rift imminent, it's possible that SMS don't want the two things releasing at the same time.

Game updates usually display that way for me. Sometimes, and it may be for certain games and not random, continue the download size from the cumulative size for that game to date.

Ya I know what you mean gta5 goes like that but it usually starts where it stopped, pcars starts at zero. Strange and way off topic so...

Am I the only one getting more and more C-**** crash to desktop errors with Patch 9 & 10 on PS4?

Yeah but 5 hours to download 7 GB or 40 mins for 1.8 ,
Mine is still going and sloooowwwlly =(
