It was also the case with the Ford Fusion and I seriously hope this is the last time we suffer from this issue.

I don't want to bring any negative things but it's really annoying !
I just got told about this aswell and, well, I can't be bothered either. I did start to wonder, when I saw a sudden drop in times and some quite unrealistic grip coming out of some corners. Hey ho.

AFAIK it's was known beforehand and I believe it was also realistic behaviour of the Fusions tyres. But I didn't expect this BMW to show the same behaviour.
Bit gutted that'd it'd happen on a combo that I somehow managed to deal with quite well.

For what it's worth, this was my 1m53.7 lap, set on the opening lap (as evidenced in the video). Screwed up the first sector, or it would have been a 1m53.6. Hey ho.

Why would worn tyres equal worse grip? Unless all rubber has been completely removed, rubber=rubber and hence there's still grip. The only real difference is that tyres with less rubber heat up and cool down quicker, which may affect lap times positively or negatively, not just negatively per-se.

You do realise that the case was: worn tires = better grip and not equal grip. Give me one example were worn tires are 1sec faster than a brand new tire set.

Before this descends into a bit of a mess, the situation here is slightly unusual. The Ford Fusion - as with the Caper Stockcar - has tyres that improved one they were worn quite low on the display (which I believe doesn't represent the entirety of a tyre's life). This was, as far as I recall from WMD days, expected behaviour - that facet of the tyres was discovered long ago (I was one of those to post about it). What is different here is that this was not, to my knowledge, a previously known behaviour of the tyres on this car. Going by the leaderboard and timetrial times (which I keep a VERY close eye on), I suspect it may only have been discovered on Sunday.

It doesn't really need any more discussion in here. It is what it is.

Yeah I mean if I explain this exploit with rubber=rubber and that there is still grip. Pretty sad...
