Thanks for the suggestions. I will be playing with a few cars this weekend. Hope I learn something good.

V8 Supercar is ridiculous. No amount of fiddly lets me apply ANY THROTTLE. It just wheel spins as soona s i touch the gas. Trying to do a lap around bathurst is impossible, I cannot do a 2.20 let alone a sub 2.10 the car is capable of. I can get GT3 cars into the 7's so should be able to get a V*SC into the 10's but i am 10 seconds per lap off that speed.
It's the differential.
For 650 odd HP through skinny tyres it has decent grip.
Just don't throttle with any steering lock.
Imola is a good place to practice the V8s.

I agree that the V8 supercar is ridiculous but I am going to go with the Mercedes C9. I crashed my game and now have to go back and do all my set ups again and the C9 is tough. Right now a person on keyboard owns this car, he has almost every record available that he wants. I took two records back from him and he smacked me within a couple of weeks so he's guarding them jealously. This is the only car that is not owned by wheel players on the leaderboard. The only thing I think he is missing out on is the controlled(sort of) violence you get driving this car with a wheel![]()

Not a single vote for the Aston Martin DBR1? That car has so many quirks:
- Regardless of gear, going over 6k RPM seems to make the rear super loose
- At high speeds, stability is on par with a mechanical bull
- You will be braking in a straight line; no really, you will
- High-speed tank slapper anyone?
There are certainly cars with more glaring single-dimension issues — like throttle-control on the 98T — but the DBR1 is, for me, the most challenging car to get around a circuit quickly, in every aspect.

DBR1 has terrible understeer on default setup (see front tyre pressures, springs + dampers).
670-odd HP smashes all the LMP1 cars on fast tracks. It is lacking downforce of the other cars, and it has the grunt to compensate running 2-4 (f+r) clicks more wing.
I'm sure I have posted a setup for it on the database...
