While all of that is true, it still doesn’t explain AI driving over those pudlles full throttle as if puddles weren’t there at all. This should be marked as bug.

They talked about those conditions being the most difficult conditions they had ever raced in and talked about how at some points they were doing road car speeds not race car speeds and struggling. And as a testament to those statements the number of drivers who spun or went off completely unexpectedly was also unprecedented I think.

The rain wasn't very heavy and that was a large contributor. They had perfect conditions up until that point, there was incredible rubber build up on the track so when it started to rain there was no grip at all on the racing line. What doesn't help when you first get moderate rain is how the oils in the road are pushed to the surface making it even more slippery. Some drivers today described it like driving on ice. It took some of them a long time to realise the grip is off the racing line because they never really got rain heavy enough to wash the track clean.

Tire pressure management became critical because at first they didn't have enough pressure and their tyres were not getting into the working temperature range which just made the grip situation worse.

That's all realistic because we saw it happen today in real life but it is an extreme example. These are Australia's best race drivers and many were saying they had not experienced anything like this before. It was actually a little frustrating to watch considering at no point did the commentary understand what was happening or why it was happening and much of the commentary team are made up of former race drivers.

    What we saw today
    No grip in the rain
Drivers describing it like driving on ice
Drivers hitting standing water and going off track

It's an extreme example but it is realistic.

This. I don't mind it being difficult, I do mind having to deal with limitations which the AI apparently do not.

So we just have the most extreme conditions, at all times, in the game. I really think what i commented has a point and i am happy that you have matched the hardest combination of all, but don't you think that this is not the common situation ?

As stated above, the behaviour on puddles is as expected, the issue is it doesn’t seem to apply for AI.

Was this acknowledged before? I really don’t want this one to get lost

I can absolutely appreciate complaints about the AI. For me AI isn't really something I care about but that doesn't invalidate your complaints. I was just pointing out a real life example of what driving in rain can sometimes be like. I absolutely agree with what you guys are saying about AI.

Tander said it was mostly because the rain tyres hard rubber was nearly impossible to get into correct operating temp

puddles looks like a prototype of some sort, really the physics need a lots of work to be believable/realistic, atm its aquaplaning at 30kph in light rain.... this isnt right at all
also every little or big puddle generates lots of aquaplaning in game. overly done totally.

I agree, the aquaplaning is really overdone to a level that it is highly unrealistic. And the fact that the ai isn't affected doesnt help the situation
