Thrustmaster TS-XW Racer Sparco 310 on Xbox One

Is anyone using Thrustmaster TS-XW Racer Sparco 310 on Xbox One? I would like to know if it is good with PC2 and whether it would be worth the upgrade from the TX? I would love a Fanatec setup but can't really justify the cost at the moment since it would cost me about £2K for all the kit.

I am using it. I got it about 6 weeks ago and have been playing pc2 with it for about 5 weeks now. I can't really compare to the TX for you since I've never used one but I really like this wheel.

    Force Feedback
The FFB is great. I'm still constantly tweaking the pc2 FFB settings trying to better understand how they work and what kind of feedback works best for me. I've had things turned up high so that it's practically ripping your arms off, but now I'm starting to understand the feedback that works best for my driving and I'm working to try to enhance that. Nevertheless, any different settings I've tried, it has been able to handle.

I'm using it with a Playseat Challenge and it's nice because the FFB is strong enough that you can feel it through the frame of the seat. This is more a "feature" of the Playseat Challenge but I thought I'd mention because it really adds to immersion.

Unfortunately I don't have anything else I can compare it to for you but with the few reviews I have seen for it (and the ts-pc), everyone has been pretty happy with its ffb capabilities.

    The wheel
The sparco wheel itself feels really great. It's a nice size and it seems very sturdy and well built. The alcantara feels great but I've been using it with gloves (Mechanix gloves from hardware store) to prevent wear to the covering. This is something they actually suggest on their site.

The buttons are well placed, but unfortunately there is some duplication when connected to the xbox. There are 3 A buttons, 2 X buttons, 2 Y buttons, and 1 B button on the wheel. I would have liked to maybe have had a couple of those buttons as Right and Left stick click buttons or something that would have allowed me to map them differently in games. The extra buttons are unmarked though so it's possible they could change them in the future.

The directional button is the only thing that I really don't like with this wheel. It's almost like a mini joystick but it's very hard to use precisely. If I try to use it in the settings menu's or in car tuning setups, every time I try to navigate up or down it can also go right or left. I'm constantly having to watch as I go up or down that it's not adjusting some setting I don't want to adjust. It's nice that it's small and is the size of the other buttons, but I think an actual d-pad would have worked better. You can also press down on it for another A button press but I find it difficult to press down on it without it moving a direction too. I've heard this same complaint in a few other reviews but it's something you can just learn to work with.

    Other notes
I use it for about 4-5 hours per night and more over the holidays and weekends with no issues yet. There is a fan that kicks in occasionally but I don't really notice it.

I've updated the firmware on it twice through my computer and had no issues.

You can adjust the angle of rotation (which they don't actually document anywhere) on the wheel base itself by using the directional button left or right and the mode button. The light will flash up to 5 times to tell you the current rotation. It can go up to 1080 (5 flashes) but the default is 900 (4 flashes)

I haven't mentioned anything about the T3PA pedals that come with it but there should be a lot of reviews out there for those. They work great for me. Again, I don't really have any reference to compare them too but I'm happy with them so far.

If there's anything else you would like to know, just ask and I will try to answer. There isn't a lot of information out there yet about this wheel and maybe not a lot of people have it yet.

I upgraded from the TX to the TS-XW.
Best decision I ever made. the Force Feedback is great, and there is actually more DOR than the TX. It has a more precise feel to it, and adjustable shift paddles. The hardest thing for me was going to a different rim and remembering the button configuration of the new Sparco rim.

Which rim did you have on your TX? Will it work on the TS-XW? Just asking because I'm thinking of making the same switch but hope to still use my F1 rim. I'm pretty sure they are all interchangeable, that would help with your button confusion.

Everything will work with the new base. I had the GTE rim on my TX and was used to the configuration, but I love the feel of the Sparco rim after i adjusted the paddles. The base will work with any removable rim Thrustmaster has. The Sparco rim is wrapped in very comfortable suede leather, which I find better than the Alcanta because you don't have to wear gloves to protect it.

I also upgraded from the TX to the TS-XW. FFB is definitely better and smoother on the TS-XW.
